off topic – there was a comment that got panned with young shagging his mate’s missus about the impact on the teams image. as with wr and rg if the rumours are true, and bearing in mind that these guys are only footballers and I don’t use them as role models, I do think it takes a bit of the gloss of united. it felt good that sir Alex had got a team of players who could be role models for younger members of the team. I don’t imagine for a second that he is impressed with all this playboy crap either. behaving like a twat makes you a twat in my book. my giggs will tear you apart tee has lost its sheen now as although he is clearly still a footballing legend i dont want to be seen wearing a shirt with his name on it in front of friends and colleagues. when the stories first broke I was all for not judging people on their private lives but deep down we all know it is shitty behaviour but they can sort it or not with their families. it also felt good that we could look down our noses at the scum in all the other teams that were full of arseholes… we all know we loved doing that.

Well, personally I’d take mutual admiration between posters about off topic matters over “Gibson is shite” or “Nani is a piece of shit” comments any day. Comments like the latter two is the big issue this thread is dealing with. Not if there’s a group of people (not a “clique”) that get along well. If you spend every matchday together on this blog for a entire season, this is what happens.
And like I said elsewhere, Scott never locks these threads. So anyone’s free to post. If you don’t like what’s being written, ignore it and post what you want.

For me it’s simple. You are respectful in your arguements and you are fine in my book. You write crap and insult our own players, you might get slagged off. It’s how it works. If I wanted to read disparaging remarks about Carrick, Gibson, Giggs or what have you, I’d visit a City blog.
I think Dogleash has just put a bid in to try and get one over on us or to push the price up of Phil Jones up. PJ is a good player but not worth that sort of money in my eyes so i think we should leave pool with the bone.

With all due respect, you have to pay closer attention to some of those situations. Heck, visit the Carrick-F1 thread, read the first few comments and you’ll get my point. Too much of that hating going on and it’s a bigger issue than United fans having a good time together.
As for Giggs, I’ve lost a lot of respect I had for him on a personal level and sadly, it seems to be getting worse say by day. But he is still the same UNited legend he was for me a month back. That won’t change.

Yeah, like I said recently, in terms of appearances over the last 5 years, few UNited players have more than Carrick. Sir Alex obviously trusts him. I don’t think it needs to be said anymore that he is no Keane and shouldn’t be judged as one…
As much as I love Ole, I wouldn’t say that Giggs is below him now. As hard as it is to think positive about Giggs nowdays, we should never forget that he’s always been good with us, the club and the manager. He just has serious personal issues that he needs to address.
i appreciate carrick has a good eye for a pass, but its what he does when he’s under pressure that drives me nuts.
3 important situations he has pissed me off in this season:
1. Giving the ball away for Valencias goal in the CL group stages (we could have been the first team ever to not concede a single goal in the CL group stage)
2. Giving the ball away for City’s goal in the FA Cup (A certain banner may still be flying high if he didn’t do that)
3. Have another look at Barcelonas 3rd goal against us on youtube. Nani’s just come on and were only a goal behind, Carrick passes an uncontrollable ball to him IN OUR AREA, Villa does what he does best and thats game over for us. That got swept under rug because Barcelona played so well, but England U21′s were in the same position last night and despit having very little possesion throughout the game managed a late equaliser.
the trouble to my eye is that it is often carrick who is left in the position of tidying things up when they’ve gone wrong… I always wonder where the person who should be beside him on the pitch is at these times… but I might just blinkered
