  9. Strik3rr says:

Canadas all about international love. Not shocked, as a star hes likely invited to many placed and dressed accordingly by whatever the club gives to him. Out of my friends (the ones we havnt converted to united fans) you could name every team from england/italy/with a touch of barca/real.

Its not like England, where if you live in an area you must support X team or be outcasted :p

  10. mancdub says:

I’ve been living and working in Dublin for the last 7 years.
I work with the general public.
Irish people are great but they love asking questions. And the first question they ask when they hear a none Irish accent is “where are you from?”  A perfectly reasonable question but I get asked it 20 times a day. The next question is always ” Are you a blue or a red?” Now this is the part that pisses me off. At least 10 times a day I get told ” I thought people from Manchester support City”.
Where does this myth Come from?
When I was young there were always lots of City fans around but at least as many United fans. Now after 20 years of success  Manchester must be 70% red surely.
Now the Irish are like the English when it comes to football. They support one team ( usually us or Liverpool ) for life and have watched English football all their lives.
My answer is to this question is always ” do you really think 2.6 million people all support a club that can’t fill it’s own ground.”
Any thoughts on where this myth comes from?

  11. redseattle23 says:

    I agree with Strik3rr.

I like Drake and I don’t mind that he’s posing with players from various clubs. He’s a celebrity – what do you expect? He seems to appreciate the sport, but probably doesn’t have a particular club that he supports above all else.

Coming from North America myself, I can attest to what it’s like to not have a club around you to support, so that’s why I count myself lucky to have been introduced to United through my youth coach in mid-90s. Most of us out here are sort of lost when it comes to supporting clubs because we don’t have geographic or family ties, so while it’s not ideal, a lot of us just follow the game as a neutral observer because we enjoy the sport or are just getting into.

Over here sports apparel is fashion and not so much team loyalty for some. So pop culture figures (especially music) will wear anything.

  58. Sandeep1878 says:

Just found out that Brucey has scored 36 goals and Dennis Irwin 19, highest by UNITED CB and Full back, the record stands still..

  59. LoneStarRed says:

@ Zibbie I read the piece on intelligence. It harkens back to the old saying used by Southerners and country folk here in the US. “Just because I talk slow doesn’t mean I think slow.”

Practical intelligence as opposed to book smarts. Another example is the accomplished criminal (not Ravel Morrison :) ). A kid on the streets hustling drugs is often a product of a rigorous “education in the school of hard knocks”. Rapid decision making, situational awareness, mathematical proficiency and interpersonal discernment are crucial to his survival.

  60. Mikekelly12 says:

    Zibbie
Dennis Viollett is my girlfriends uncle, god rest his soul. His sister was round my gaff this afternoon. Died before I got to meet him but a true legend in football and life.

  61. Zibbie says:

    Thanks Sandy!

LSR nice, I remember the first time an old timer said that to me.
“Just because I talk slow doesn’t mean I think slow.” so spot on.

  62. Zibbie says:

Mike how fucking cool, I’m Goggling now.

  63. YorYor says:

Denis Irwin scored plenty of wonderful freekicks, and his penalties were unerring too! Before Giggs matured and Becks later came along, Irwin was almost always first choice for freekicks and penalties.

  64. Sandeep1878 says:

    LoneStarRed, – LSR

    Howdy pal..

    Good saying that..

  65. Sandeep1878 says:

Heard Mario the cunt crashed his car…

  66. devil1166 says:

  67. Sandeep1878 says:

Antonio Valencia is the fastest Player with the Ball.

In the Blackburn vs United game, Valencia set a new record becoming the fastest Player in the World to run with the Ball, his record was 35.km/h thus becoming faster than Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo who was 33.6km/h then came Arsenal’s Winger Theo Walcott with a time of 32.7km/h.

The beast has ticked at least one factor of Ronaldo now ;)

  68. MG says:

All I have to say is:

    Are we there yet?

    Not quite! Come on United!

    Sandy Evening mate.
We have a Monkey as well but where’s Pigsy?

I don’t know whats worse. Watching Sri Lanka England 2nd Test and a woman was in the crowd who shouldn’t really be wearing a Bikini. You could still see the harpoon marks from a near miss by a Japanese Whaler. OR a Bloke in a Leeds scarf. Hmmmm

  76. FletchTHEMAN says:

    Sandeep Famous lists mate. Cheers.

Re Fastest wingers. 35km/h is serious fast. Lots of managers have got TonyV on their best wing list and all LBs rate him as being near on imposible to contain for 90minutes. A gem and that’s a fact.

  77. Sandeep1878 says:

Xavi : “Toughest defenders I’ve ever faced are Maldini, Nesta and Vidic. ”

    Parryheid,

    Indeed we have the V3…

for a change, its good to see our wingers trying to score more this season..thats how it should be..

    James,

I can understand mate, but go with the lad in a leeds scarf ;) ..Cedars will vouch for this :)

  78. The team that wouldn't die says:

    @mancdub
It’s one of many blue lies.
They are SO DELUDED and in DENIAL. They stick together through lies.
When asked why so many fans were dressed up as blue seats in european games they blame all the matches and the cost of them. When confronted that it cost them fuck all and that kids could get there for £5 they just grunt.
The Uni made a count in 2002, stating that there were more red seasonticket holders in Manchester than blue. When stating this on the MEN site they ignore it or make up some other mad story.
And, they actually believe that people living in London and Ireland can travel to matces at 20.00 weekdays and still go back and go to work at 07.00 the next day…
Well according to bitters, OT is filled up with 30.000 asian tourists. 5000 from Scandinavia 20.000 from London and the rest is from Sheffield and greater Manchester…

  79. Sandeep1878 says:

    MG

    good of you mate :)

but beware of the chairman Mao’s girls ;)

    FlethTHEMAN,

cheers pal, and as we all know, the best of the beast is yet to come, may be coming couple of season we would see Tony V firing on all cylinders..

and indeed he is a gem!!

  80. Sandeep1878 says:

    The team that wouldn’t die

    well said buddy,

delusional fans are the epitome of Citeh and the fuckers question the loyalty and the support of the best club fans in the world?

Just recalled the famous Mind Your Language sitcom where a Chinese girl always talks about Chairman Mao :)

  84. MG says:

Of course Cedars no denying you’d find something I couldn’t

  86. TonyBee says:

    fuck faces ….charming !!

  87. FletchTHEMAN says:

Sandeep, there are some oddities on your lists. Ruud has 95 EPL, 38 CL and a total of 150 by my count.

Here is a version of the list from About Man Utd.com

    ………………………League….FA…LC….CL..other…….total
    Bobby Charlton…..199…….19……7….10….14……….249
    Denis Law………….171…….34……3….14….15……….237
    Jack Rowley………182…….26……-……-……..3……….211
    Dennis Viollet…….159………5……1…..13……1………179
    George Best ……..137…….21……9…….9……3………179
    Wayne Rooney….123…….14…….4……27….4………172

Wayne has already good an impressive # of CL goals, but has 10 to go to equal Ruud vN 38 in a red shirt.
Wayne could pass Georgie best in league goals early next season.

  88. TonyBee says:

I like going out with Chinese girls.

They always say there is something long with me.

  89. MG says:

    Watson

    Oriental star ;)

  90. James21 says:

Don’t get me on shitty fans.
Swailes out, Foward with Franny, Lee out. hounded a poor man to his grave in Peter Swailes.
They call us glory hunters yet we had our huge international fanbase in the 70s and 80s when the scousers were top dog and Utd won three FA cups.
They’re so fucking bitter they put Lemons to shame.
So deluded and insistant that they are a MASSIVE club yet the majority their fans come from one area, an area that has more Utd fans.
Horrible Vile bitter Twisted Posnan Prcks and Hipocrytes the lot of them.
The sooner mon SOUR pisses off the better.

Oh yes and their club badge proudly shows off 3 massive stars and says superior in Battle in Latin. What fucking battle is or was that, The Cod Wars?

  91. CedarsDevil says:

    Fletch

I would be interesting to see the goals per game ratio in Europe because prior to the CL there were no group stages, it was knock out over two legs from the start therefore far less games

  92. TonyBee says:

I took an Oriental girl out on a date around Chinatown last night.

Fuck knows if it was the same one I brought home though.

  93. MG says:

    James

Rant away James give them Hell!

  94. James21 says:

Ah I stand corrected. It was the Battle of wastelands when 20,000 loyal fans were beaten back by empty blue plastic seats.

  95. CedarsDevil says:

    James

Safe to assume you do not like city fans and their club?

  96. James21 says:

    Mr Bee
    :D :D :D

  97. MG says:

    Watson

On top of his game :D

  98. James21 says:

    Cedars
What gave you that Idea? :)

  99. MG says:

I think Cedars has a point

  100. Costas says:

Lads, this website has an accurate chart of our scorers:

    http://www.stretfordend.co.uk/goalscorers/overall.html

    Rooney is on 175.

  101. CedarsDevil says:

    James

Not sure, guess I am good at deciphering!!

  102. Redbilly says:

James21. Stockport is blue us it not:-)

My favourite today is a city fan claiming we bombed out of the champions league because we were focused on keeping pace with them . Narcisstic delusions

  103. FletchTHEMAN says:

    James. Epic rant lad… Epic.

    Doubt they fish though…..
Heard it admitted that the stars were purely ornamental.

  104. MG says:

Okay RED Machine MG TM

Time to go had a tough day in school

    See you all tomorrow United

    19

    ;)

  105. CedarsDevil says:

    Take care MG

  106. James21 says:

    redbilly
    No it isn’t. :)

Thats shitty fans all over. They’ve speant years talking about Utd watching our results over their own club and they are deluded enough to think Utd and SAF intended to crash out of the Champs League because of them. :D

    Fletch
Probably fight for Fish Fingers in that big ASDA ouside wastelands. Maybe those 3 stars are in honour of Utds 3 European Cups :D

  107. CedarsDevil says:

Just realized there is football on tonight! ha ha Watching all 5 minutes of the Bilbao match!

  108. FletchTHEMAN says:

Cedars, not sure what you are on about the goals per match. Tell me specifically who you want compared and I will think about it. But

    Charltons g/m was about .33

Both Rooney .51 and Ruud .68 are much better. Can really separate the numbers between group stages and finals easily.

But for all CL games Charlton .36 Rooney .4 and Ruud .81.

    Ruud was a beast.

  109. James21 says:

Off to dream about the demise of shitty. Night Reds. 20 believe.

  110. Saad says:

Five Spanish teams out of the eight semi finalists in the European tourneys. Let the la liga wanking begin! :S

  111. Costas says:

Shame for Mame Diouf! He’s still United’s top scorer in Europe this season though. :D

  112. Dela says:

Drake Drake Drake…. absolutely no interest. I probably couldn’t count the amount of times he’s been name dropped on Twitter by Rio Ferdinand and Tom Cleverely.

I use Twitter and follow a LONG list of people and I hate to admit I’ve thought about stopping following Rio as his tweets are seriously boring (as is his Android app) but I think the reason I leave him on there is because you might actually hear a reaction to a game after it.

Otherwise, all he’s ever doing is playing music critic (telling us what the song of the day/month is etc.), talking about what he’s having to eat in an overly enthusiastic way (egg white omelette, filled me UP!! OOOoooommmpppfff!!!), telling us when he’s going to sleep and when he’s getting up, wasting his time on Piers Morgan, educating us about his kids’ schedule/interests, name dropping, retweeting people who have praised him, trying to show an interest in American sports, and so forth.

To me, it seems that Rio is understanding that he has a few years left him in and he sees the social media route as a way to guarantee some kind of a career in the limelight once he’s finished. He likes the celeb game, I think his dream is to judge some kind of music / singing contest at this point.

But ye, I wasn’t expecting literary masterpieces on Twitter of course, but there’s only so many times you can hear how amazing Drake is before you start to roll your eyes and question why the hell he felt he had to share it with the world AGAIN.

  113. Sandeep1878 says:

    FlethTHEMAN..

yes buddy there may be some difference..

I usually check football 365, 4-4-2, euro stats, opta etc etc..

but the link provided by Costas is good, and the link gets updated often,

so yeah there may be + or – 5..

its better we refer our official one…

does ROM have a stats block? if not we can get loaded on as we have plenty of people here to offer the content to STR, not that he cant get, but still..

    off to bed pals,

    first thing tomorrow..

    good night

    good night ROM.

UNITED – 20 – come hell or high water!!

  114. King Eric says:

Who the fuck is Drake? Apart from being an idiotic cunt. God I hate pricks like this with more sides than a dice. Mug. Plastic twat.

  115. Redbilly says:

Eric- more sides than a dice . Priceless. Why should we be interested in this cunt?.

  116. King Eric says:

I have a question. If from the Villa game the away fans are going in North Stand Tier three where the fuck are those currently in that stand being located to? The present away end. In the corner? Seems a bit off to me. People pay a large amount for that tier and will they be shunted into a corner? For all I know I am in the tier below so I am assuming the tier above me is even occupied!

  117. King Eric says:

    RedBilly. Cheers mate!

  118. Costas says:

Ah, it’s just for one game KE! It’s a test drive for the singing section. From what I hear, it might become a permanent fixture next season.

If I was in Tier 1 or 2 I’d be more worried about having away fans sitting above me. And we know the scousers are famous for pissing during their games.

  119. orez says:

Am I the only one who thinks “Who the fuck is Drake?”?

  120. King Eric says:

Costas. Oh cheers mate. Always rely on you. Thank you. I am in tier two but fortunately under a big fuck off Cantilever roof.

  121. JC says:

Who the fuck is Drake? Some wanker trash wannabe entertainer from America Jr. up north no doubt… :D

  122. King Eric says:

I appreciate that Owen Coyle has had the Muamba thing to deal with but call me a heartless bastard but why the fuck has he won manager of the month? Fergie with fourth straight wins yet fuck all. Joke.

Oh and I see Sunderland have been charged for failing to keep their players under control at the council house. What? How about that obese cunt Toure or long nose Dzeko who were kicking off. Piss take.

  123. LoneStarRed says:

    @ Sandeep Excellent attempt.

To do it right it’s just “Howdy” with nothing after it , pronounced “Haahdee” or “Howdee” NOT haydee. It takes some practice :) .

  124. Costas says:

    @King Eric

No problem. I remember Scott making a thread about it a while back. The singing section is a noble idea. And there’s a good chance that away fans’ noise won’t be so loud when they are up there in Tier 3. At the same time, it might force some of those fans who sat there to move elsewhere and that’s not pleasant. At least the club is trying to do something about the noise problem at OT.

I didn’t know Coyle won manager of the month. Of course no one wants to be insensitive in moments like this. I am pleased as fuck about the fact that Muamba might leave the hopsital next week. But like you, I don’t know if I’d give Coyle that award. But it’s ok. Fergie has won plenty already and might win another one before the season is over.

  125. samuel - united WE stand says:

Applause to sir DELA, the only man to know what a person really is like from their Twitter page on the internet.

The purpose of Twitter is to obviously share your own thoughts and your thoughts only, he can’t be that boring if he has more than 2million followers surely?.

  126. wayne says:

Don’t know who Drake is some plastic cunt lots of them around in this day and age.Don’t see why that lad on the City youth team had to apologize everyone knows no player on their books gives a fuck about the club
Seems to me that’s City’s main problem and why always going to have problems especially when the fair rules come in
Everyone playing for City are playing the Arab for a mug just can’t turn a pig into a princess
Let’s face it Roman has tried and had moderate success but still loses millions a year and hasn’t had the desired outcome of turning Rent boys into a world brand and now will have to spend a small fortune to re build otherwise Chelsea will become irreverent again, see City exactly the same way

  127. orez says:

Hey guys. Have you seen the article that Garry Neville wrote in daily mail. What an awesome read. I knew he is doing a great job, but all of the shity pundits and journos should learn from him.

  128. Captain Charisma says:

I hate Drake, he’s a fake and you can tell as a person he’s a snake.

Calls himself a rapper, but sings a whole lot.
Calls himself the best, while being outshined by the guy featuring with him.
Says he’s from the hood and knows thugs………Bitch is from Canada, Middle Class Jew, quarter Black portrays himself as a black man.
Says he’s a hardcore partier, he’s hosted the most Bar Mitzvah’s recorded in 2011.
Says he’s a “baller”, never had a clean shave, never wears a suit and hires out a lot of cars.
Says he gets a lot of girls, while crying on the same song how some bitch left him.
Acts like a right hard bastard, whilst releasing an album about the feminist movement, encouraging women to be free and that “he’s so proud of them” and calls the disc “Take Care”.

This motherfucker actually believes he’s been through more shit than 2Pac or B.I.G and who gave him the balls to say “would they survive in this Era?” When they clearly died in theirs because it was so bad.

  129. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

    King Eric + Costas

Some managers have won it for the bare minimum or lesser before Owen Coyle.
For example, Arsene Wenger won it in February for winning 3 in the league and 1 Draw, but it didn’t consider they got knocked out of the Champions League by Milan 4-0 and FA Cup elimination losing 2-0 to Sunderland while finishing trophy-less for the 7th year. Non-sense award In my opinion, should consider everything to do with domestic games in England.

I think Owen Coyle deserves it just based on the reaction he had to Muamba’s cardiac arrest. He was caring, at bedside, stayed behind in London, spoke with the doctors, media and family and did his duty to Muamba as his manager, colleague and friend, then after all that, went back to Bolton galvanised the players to win crucial games back to back in the league against Blackburn & Wolves & gained 6 points. Oh and they beat QPR before the Muamba incident so that 9 points out of 9 which is impressive in this league this year.

Yes SAF has recorded more wins (4), but I think what’s respectable about awarding it to Owen Coyle is that he’s been fantastic on and off the pitch and deserves some sort of recognition for being a good guy and it must have been an incredible strain on the fella with relegation looming over his head, an ill player, an upset squad, an off form team, replaying a traumatic game and not so long ago I remember he was being questioned by Bolton fans for their league position. I think he deserves it.

    :D Top notch Fella

  132. Collyhurst Red says:

Good morning fellow reds and a happy Easter to you (if that’s your thing!).

Just read this on the BBC Gossip column………

“Sam Jones, a Manchester City youth team player, has been censored by the club for tweeting pro-Manchester United messages during the Red Devils’ defeat of Blackburn on Monday, including: “Yeahhhhhhhhhhhh United United United” and “Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh what a goal!!!!!”

Just goes to show……….. everyone loves United :_)

  133. Collyhurst Red says:

Then I notice someone already posted this much earlier, doh.

    That’ll teach me to……..

    1) Start from the top regardless of hold old the topic is
    2) Don’t trust the BBC to be on the ball

Knew I should have stayed in bed.

Fuck it, I’m going back to bed!

  135. MUFCJord says:

I completely agree, you learn something when G.Nev is on Sky Sports, him and Graeme Souness are streaks above the rest in terms of punditry.

  139. Dela says:

@samuel – united WE stand — Okay… didn’t realise he was your boyfriend. When exactly did I say I knew everything about him from his Twitter page? I said the guy puts up boring / ridiculous tweets. Let’s see what his latest was shall we???

“Anyone else ever passed wind(farted) got a whiff of it and pulled a face in disgust at the smell you produced??! I just dazed myself! Errrgh”
    ————————

Apparently I’m not allowed to be critical of that ;-)

And BTW, Rio has 2 million followers because he’s been more vocal on Twitter is because of Manchester United. Look at Rooney, he’s been on there for a lesser period of time, barely really says much and he has nearly 3.8 million followers. Rio Ferdinand has been a top class servant of Manchester United, and I’m a huge fan of his in terms of his ability and what he brings to the club, that doesn’t mean I have to like the smell of his shit mate ;-)

  141. Mr C says:

‘What’s twitter lark all about then? And who are the Beatles…?

  142. King Eric says:

    Morning.

Clint. Hello pal. Oh I know exactly what you are saying and Coyle is a class act and handled it superbly. Maybe I appear heartless but I thought it was just based on Prem results. Having read what you said though yes fair play.

Deano. Morning pal. Are you on tv. Have looked out for loads of people but can’t make anyone out. Will have a better look and keep an eye for you mate.

  143. King Eric says:

Collyhurst Red. Morning pal. Ha. I do it myself all the time. I need to type summat then I read through all the post afterwards and end up typing six different posts. Too impatient at times and if I don’t get it down I forget.

  144. King Eric says:

Inclined to agree with Dela. Some folk are quite happy to hear what they are up to on twatter. Personally I couldn’t give a fuck.

  145. Dela says:

@King Eric — That’s all I’m saying :-) I follow Rio for one thing, if he mentions anything about United etc. but since I use Trillian I get loads of his tweets right on my Desktop when I’m working, and hearing about how bad his farts smell before 9am is not fun ;-)

  146. King Eric says:

Wish I had taken the chance to slot Cunty when I saw him outside that fag lime bar earlier this season but to be fair he was much bigger than me. Anyway once again on his phone in show he said the exact words “for me City have the best squad“. Wish I could have a fiver for every week you said that you fat cunt. He makes out City have thrown it away but in reality the big red United machine have hunted them down like a pack of wolves. To be fair though he did say fergie is the greatest manager in his lifetime. That’s coming from a Mourinho bumboy.

I hate this notion we need to copy Barca. Fuck off. We are manm united. We do it our way and we will have those bastards in due course.

Hope Swansea turn that arrogant cunt Pardews side over this aft. I hate him. Having said that a bar code win sees them leap frog the Rentboys.

  147. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

    Dela

Hows it going mate, I would disagree on Rio I don’t follow Twitter at all but Rio is a legend. He does so much more than just being a footballer.

But moving away from that I think someone spiked my pint on Monday with viagra as I still have a semi. Valencia is fucking brilliant.

    I also

  148. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

I also am going to take a moment to bask in my red tinted glasses.

Before city slipped I kept banging on saying just support the team to all the spoilt Bastards.

I fucking knew it wasn’t over by a long shot and still isn’t. I hope OT is fucking bouncing on Sunday and we get behind the lads.

  149. samuel - united WE stand says:

Dela – i’d assume you’d come up with a better joke than that next time. Secondly, if you despise his tweets, why go through the stress of following him? who cares. People clearly like interacting with him as he’s laid back or whatever you wanna call it. the main point of the site is to post your thoughts and not to take it seriously which you clearly have.

Thirdly, rooney is a super-star striker. The man mostly admired by fans across the world, he’s more talented and more mesmerising than rio on the pitch, he’s bound to gather more followers instantly. You Don’t see gerard pique having more followers/fans than c.ronaldo for example.

i just Don’t get how anyone can judge others off random thoughts posted on a blog, tweeting site or whatever. My view.

  150. Mikekelly12 says:

    King Eric
Could do with Newcastle ticking over until they play city. Keep collocini and papi cisse fit so they can put a better shift in than that limp dick performance against them earlier in the season! Quite glad Sir Alex didn’t get manager of the month, the recipient usually marks the award with a defeat!

  151. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

    Mike

Morning pal if your hear of any Wigan mate let me know I’m.struggling.

  152. samuel - united WE stand says:

I’ve noticed spanish football changing as a whole. I know they have the technical ability but they seem to have added unmatched work ethic and hard running to their game which means they close down spaces for teams to get forward and are relentless at doing it, exactly what teams face when they’ve played against spain and we encountered it against Barca twice and athletic bilbao. shalke 04 went through the same thing last night and struggled to match the tenacity. how do we counter against this?

  153. King Eric says:

Mike. Hello mate. Yeah good points actually fella. See you Sunday pal.

  154. Dela says:

@samuel – united WE stand –> You miss my point again. I’m not judging him personally, I’m merely pointing out that he tweets the same things over and over again, like telling his 2 million followers that drake is playing in his car, again. You replied to me like I had completely disrespected him, and I didn’t, and I also made it clear I wasn’t expecting much from Twitter. I was just saying that its the same stuff repeatedly….. Farts, #tears4piers, drake, food, *name drop celeb here*, sleep, Farts, #tears4piers, drake, food, sleep, *name drop*, RT someone praising him / his app….. and THEN something Manchester United related ;-)

The reason I haven’t unfollowed him is because I’m a United fan and I have (I think) all of the United players on Twitter followed. I know he’s a top bloke, I know he’s been a loyal servant and he has my respect for everything he’s ever done for United and the time he spends doing Charity and so forth, but I AM allowed to dislike his Tweets and I AM allowed to say so. It’s nothing personal, I don’t know this guy outside of the public persona he chooses to show, which is the same as with any player or person in public light.

IF you REALLY want to see someone disrespect him, then go to his Twitter page and open ANY of his tweets and look at the replies calling him a cunt, a fag, a has-been and so on. If you want to rush to his defense, then go do so to someone whose actually intentionally insulting him.

    @Giggs12Gerrard0 —> Mate, I don’t think we disagree, I know he’s a legend ;-)

  155. CedarsDevil says:

    Morning all

Itching all over here, cannot wait till Sunday. Glad we’re playing first this time and fingers crossed if we do the job then I sit sit back and enjoy the game at the Emirates without pressure on my nervous system and aging heart. I am sure the lads won’t be complacent against QPR, Sir Alex will make sure they’re not. An early goal will do just nicely

  156. Mikekelly12 says:

    Giggs12
You’re struggling?!?! There’s bob hope of me getting any then! What about The two fellas who you got me sorted with on Monday? Did you apply? I’ll keep my ear to the ground.
    King Eric
Yes mate, look forward to a few beers on Sunday.
    Samuel/Dela
I go on twitter generally to see if there’s any gossip about United etc. I think it’s just a case of agree to disagree. Serial tweeters do talk a lot of bollocks, let’s be honest, how much truly interesting stuff can happen to one person in a day? I skip past a lot of Rio’s stuff, tune of the day and all that, but I do like reading his reactions after games etc.

  157. Dela says:

@Mikekelly12 –> Yep, I check all the United players on Twitter after games, even if what they say is pretty predictable, you never know :-)

  158. Mikekelly12 says:

    Cedars
You can get cream for that!!

  159. Mikekelly12 says:

    Dela
Promotes his restaurant quite a bit too. Shameless. Like you say, a lot of bollocks to sift through but occasionally some good stuff q&a’s etc. I was recommended following Darren Can and Craig Norwood. Think it might have been Willie that recommended the latter. They tend to have interesting United info from time to time.

  160. King Eric says:

Samuel. Ha. It will all come out in years that the Spanish are all on amphetamines!

  161. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

    Mike

Well I always struggle up until the day before when I normally come good. I just need to keep chasing and I will be ok, worst case I will just get one in the Wigan end.

  162. King Eric says:

    Morning Cedars.

  163. Dela says:

@Mikekelly12 –> Will Do :-) And ye, Twitter has its uses, but they are limited really unless you are someone like Rio or Rooney, suddenly you have the ability to say something that millions of people might see quickly. His app aswell has some decent videos on it from time to time, but I had to laugh when I saw that he has his own music chart on his app, which is why I commented last night that I reckon he’d love to judge a music / singing contest at some point. I just have that inkling that it’s gonna happen somehow after he hangs up his boots. ;-)

  164. Sandeep1878 says:

    Morning reds,

    any news on Nani?

  165. Sandeep1878 says:

Rio Ferdinand on the next 3 games…

“[The celebrations at Blackburn] were blown out of all proportion,” he told ManUtd.com. “We know it can change very quickly as well, from being on a great run to having a dip. We have been there before,” he said. “The only thing on our minds is to keep winning each game and not look beyond that. It is a cliché and it is boring, but that is the way it is. It is quite simple. Black and white.

“The next game is the most important one. You just have to keep ticking off the fixtures and winning games. Everyone is saying our run-in looks easy, but our next three games [QPR, Wigan, Villa] are against teams who are fighting to stay in the Premier League, so this talk of easy games goes out of the window,” continues Rio.
“We know QPR have some players who can be potential matchwinners and if we are not on our game, they have the potential to beat us. At this stage of the season there are no gimmes. If we want the result, we will have to go out and earn it.”

  166. Atin says:

    @ Willie -

In the last two lines, the manager states: “Most teams mirror their manager anyway. So as much as we’re looking forward to the game, it’s going to be a hard one”

Innocent question Does this mean that Wankini is a choker? :D :P

  167. CedarsDevil says:

    King Eric – Morning pal

Mike – ha ha ha…. Best cream would be 3 points on Sunday

  168. Redbilly says:

  169. Phil Jones' Birdshit Streaks says:

Has anyone else noticed that Sky Sports seem to post some new bullshit statement from Mankini every single day now? I honestly wonder if he’s saying these things, or they are making 5 headlines out of one story and just stretching it out for a week. Either way, he’s contradicting himself so much, it’s just pure comedy.

  170. Sandeep1878 says:

  174. CedarsDevil says:

Arsenal are only ahead of Spurs by virtue on 1 goal. This means that they should put at least 4 or 5 past the bitters on Sunday to help widen that gap.

    Just saying

  175. Sandeep1878 says:

Here is the BBC pundit’s predictions..

ALAN HANSEN – 1. Man Utd 2. Man City 3. Tottenham 4. Arsenal

ALAN SHEARER – 1. Man Utd 2. Man City 3. Tottenham 4. Arsenal FC

LEE DIXON – 1. Man Utd 2. Man City 3. Arsenal 4. Tottenham

MIKE LAWRENSON – 1. Man Utd 2. Man City 3. Tottenham 4. Arsenal FC

ROBBIE SAVAGE – 1. Man Utd 2. Man City 3. Arsenal 4. Tottenham

PAT NEVIN – 1. Man Utd 2. Man City 3. Arsenal 4. Tottenham

I m not sure if they predicted the same at the beginning of the season ;)

and i m sure STR will come up with his traditional list in coupla weeks time ;)

  176. Sandeep1878 says:

    Cedars,

    Bless Maya indeed..

    Hello buddy,

“should put at least 4 or 5 past the bitters on Sunday to help widen that gap.”

and you expect a ht-trick by your son, for obvious reason eh? ;)

  177. Costas says:

And the most shocking news coming from today’s press conference…

Michael Owen is still unavailable. So seeing how Fergie relies on 3 strikers nowdays, lets hope he rotates them properly over the next week.

    @Ancha

Cheers for the article. CQ had their number no doubt, but Messi still wasn’t in his prime then. Imo all Chelsea have to do is study the tapes from their semi finals in 2009. They were the better side that year and we all remember how they got eliminated.

  178. Phil Jones' Birdshit Streaks says:

Are my comments even posting or is it you lot just fucking ignoring me as per usual? Who knows at this point

  179. CedarsDevil says:

    Birdshit

No one is ignoring on purpose mate, need a hug? ha ha

  180. Mikekelly12 says:

    Sandeep
Pretty sure they weren’t the predictions in August! Lee Dixon deffo had city not sure about the others. I think Hansen my have had the dippers in the top for.
    Birdshit
Was having a snooze mate. Pretty sure the press just regurgitate comments from the same interview. This morning it was about him punching Balotelli if he had to play with him.

  181. Mikekelly12 says:

Question? Does this symbol come up as a smiley or a symbol 

  182. Redbilly says:

I hope RVP is on top form Sunday. Love to see the guy get a hat trick. .

Blue moon….. you may have risen to soon…… Just like a punctured balloon… Your time Ain’t coming real soon…..

  183. CedarsDevil says:

    Symbol

  184. Mikekelly12 says:

    Redbilly
Fuck RVP…. I hope Rooney gets a hattrick on Sunday!!! Get your point though, really hope city get spanked!! Any dropped points on their part will be hugely appreciated!

  185. Mikekelly12 says:

    Cedars
Cheers pal. Obviously only works on txts!

  186. Red Tash says:

Regarding our match against QPR,i just hope the lads stay focussed and keep an eagle’s eye on Shaun Wright Phillips.Shit happens and he may want to do his former club a favour just like Darron Gibson at Everton.Only my 2 cents anyway.

  187. Mikekelly12 says:

    Red Tash
Fucking too right. I also hope Sir Alex fields his strongest team and doesn’t take them lightly! No reason to rotate with our fixture list and only 7 to go! Norwich gave us a real scare at home and regardless of the team we had out we all know what happened against Blackburn. Having said that, if we can’t beat QPR at home when every game is now a must win, then quite frankly we don’t deserve to win it.

  188. CedarsDevil says:

    Red Tash

Just watched highlights from Fergie’s press conference, focus was his main point, one game at a time. On the other hand Wankini was going on about us dropping points and the derby match and that is three points bla bla bla bla

  189. Red Tash says:

    Mike
Im getting a bit jittery and curious at the same time regarding sundays match. Now that Nani is available,do you think the gaffer might be tempted to tinker and accomodate him?We all know that he likes to keep everyone guessing and more often than not pulls a masterstroke on match day.
Having said that,i hope that Tony Valencia will not be ‘rested’ as we will be looking for early goals. What do you reckon mate?

  190. sachu says:

no tinkering for the rest of the season thats certain valencia will start
    de gea
    rafael evans ferdinand evra
    valencia carrick scholes young
    rooney
    welbeck

  191. Mikekelly12 says:

    Red Tash
You’re right, he always has a change up his sleeve. I think the form Young and Valencia are showing, it would be daft to leave them out for a player just back from injury. A place on the bench is the more likely option. Who he plays in the middle with Carrick is what I’m wondering? Scholes played a long time at Ewood so will he go with Giggs who had a shocker against Fulham? Will be interesting. I just hope they don’t have us hanging on til the death. A 2 goal lead with 5 mins to go was a luxury for us the way we usually go about our business. Can’t remember the last really comfortable ride we had at OT? West Brom I think?

    Cedars
Wankini is fast turning to be a poor man’s kenny. He has a massive chip on his shoulders and i think he is his own worst enemy.By now he should have known that the only reason pride lifts him up is to let him down.
I dont know what other reds think but as far as i’m concerned he tries to replicate whatever Sir Alex does.He looked at our captain n decided to give the armband to Kompany. He looked at how Fergie utilises Valencia at right back and tried to do the same with Milner while playing Sunderland. We all know how that turned out.
Sir Alex was,is and will always be the best.Trying to beat him is always bound to backfire.

  199. Redbilly says:

Mikekelly- likewise, a goalfest for us would be perfect to the jitters up city. RVP hat trick. Wod be perfect sideshow. Doubt it though as gunners wlll be in awe of such a massive club. :-) .

  200. Mikekelly12 says:

I fucking hate the scarf wearing cunt! You’d have thought he’ learnt to stop talking about what we’re doing and concentrate on his own mob!! Wouldn’t surprise me if he was doing a pre match analysis with his players on how QPR Should play against us! And I love the way he assumes the derby is automatically 3 points for him!

  201. Sandeep1878 says:

We are 20 goals short of our highest goal scoring season record..

7 games to go and 20 goal to be scored?

    Can we beat it?

    Hope so..

and one day i hope we beat Chavs record of 103 goals per season, the highest in PL till date..

Come on UNITED, we have to be the best in everything..we are and will be

  202. Sandeep1878 says:

  205. CedarsDevil says:

    Red Tash

Better men than Wankini have tried in the past and failed. Do these fools ever learn, you simply cannot compete with Sir Alex. Personally I do not like Mourinho, but one of the reasons him and Fergie have a good relationship is because Mureen never tried to be smart with him and just did his own thing with the media.

  206. CedarsDevil says:

PJBS it is then…. If you like I could gather the lads round for a group hug! ha ha

It has come to my attention The United Medical staff is on the decline and are ageing. In response to this, I have chosen to chase the signature of Eva Carneiro of the Chelsea Medical Team. It is believed the sexy Gibraltarian is under contract but I have been “tapping her up” for the last 21 months with secret meetings in the Hilton Hotel and Landmark Hotel and several more hotels across Europe. We expect her to sign on on the dotted line soon and in reward she will be awarded with a pearl necklace.

Not worried about QPR, Utd should spank them and get the bigger goal difference after Sunday

  229. Red Tash says:

  230. Red Tash says:

Queiroz would be welcomed back at the Theatre Of Dreams with open arms.Im not trying to be controversial here but tell u what Wayne,Sir Alex ranks him as well. His tactical nous is what we have sorely missed.
His services to the club will never go unnoticed-one of the compelling reasons why the gaffer travelled to back him up in court while he was coaching Portugal.Ring any bells???

Do agree on Avatar – what a pile of rubbish that was – technically unbelievably but the rest was…

    Cedars

Leeds are bloody 10 men down and have the best shots on goal since I last wrote!

Reading are nervous – don’t know what to do with the extra man

While we are on about the youth teams. A United U17 squad will represent us in Holland for the Aegon Future Cup starting today. (April 6-9 2012). They play Ajax on Saturday Apr 7

  267. MUFCJord says:

Good question for the stat monkeys!

  268. Costas says:

Regarding CQ, I have no doubt that tactically we were better off when he was around compared to now. In a way, I do think we miss him. But would I want him back? It’s hard to say. I know where people are coming from when they hold it against him that he quit the club twice. He was lucky to get a 2nd chance really. Fergie does need someone with fresh ideas next to him. The problem with that now, is that Fergie is too close to the end of his reign in order to shake things up.

    @Red Tash

Cheers mate. Doing my best. :D

  269. FletchTHEMAN says:

Bebe was me finally realizing that Carlos Queiroz didn’t have any particular eye for tallent.

  270. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

    Costas –

Its never to late to forgive and forget ;)
I don’t think SAF would have any issues with a Carlos Queiroz return and I don’t think his remaining years in charge would even come into consideration as it never has with any decisions he’s made. Who are the fans honestly to hold a grudge with CQ if its’s in United’s best interests. He did quit twice but no one at United would hold any hard feelings towards him as he did leave for a Cunt like Real Madrid and to manage his national side. Who would turn down that opportunity to form a managerial career? In my opinion, I reckon everybody would take CQ back in heartbeat but the terrible consequence of that would be Mike Phelan being Demoted or losing his job altogether which would be ruthless considering the years of service he’s done for the club as a player and his contributions as a Coach. I think its more to do with Phelan vs Queiroz rather than anything else.

I would simply like to see Carlos alongside the next manager in charge because he knows the club inside out as does Rene Muelensteen and Phelan.

    Fergie Fergie Sign Him Up!

  271. FletchTHEMAN says:

Clint, Good luck to your friends aka the lucky couple. Might I suggest you come at this from their perspective and consider complementing the groom, or the maid of honor. If it is any size of a wedding you might ask whether the groom has a plan. You don’t want to upstage the groom so the purple shirt has to go back in the drawer, unless the brides maids are in a similar color. For me that is just to gastly to contemplate.

If the groom is in a black or white
You could do an all black Black jacket black pant, black tie …. very classy from my perspective.

    Cheers mate

  272. CedarsDevil says:

A bit of trivia for you all……

One current PL player has scored in all 4 divisions…..Name that player

    how are you my friend?

  274. Sandeep1878 says:

    Cedars,

  275. Sandeep1878 says:

Cedars, I bottled it i guess,

you mean the player is currently in the league?

That’s hard and am not sure but just guessing…. Grant holt!because he played for so many clubs before from lower divisions

  280. CedarsDevil says:

    Hi Lebomanc

    Good guess but wrong answer….

  281. Sandeep1878 says:

    Lebomanc,

    you are right buddy :)

  282. CedarsDevil says:

Loving this, bet Google are going bonkers!

    Lebomanc

Where have you been? Not seen you here for a while

  283. Costas says:

Sorry guys. Can’t help out with that stat. :P I did some research about our 2 most famous defensive partnerships though. Bruce/Pally and Rio/Vida.

-Bruce/Pallister (played together for 7 years): Started 310 games together. 274 conceded goals (0.88 per game)

-Ferdinand/Vidic (player together for 6 years): Started 163 games together. 114 conceded goals (0.70 per game)

So the latter partnership seems to be more effective. However, it’s really impressive that these two combinations have played together for about the same time and Bruce/Pally have played twice as many games.

  284. Sandeep1878 says:

    Cedars,

you mean – PL, Championship, League 1, League 2 – right?

  285. Lebomanc says:

    Cedarsdevil
    It’s a nice question, what’s the answer?

  286. Mikekelly12 says:

    Is it Taylor?

  287. CedarsDevil says:

    Sandeep

Yes that is what I mean, I could be wrong but Holt did not score in League 2, if he did he is not the answer I am looking for

  288. CedarsDevil says:

    Not Taylor

  289. Lebomanc says:

    Cedarsdevil
Well ya I’ve been a bit busy and didn’t have much time for internet, thanks for asking

  290. Costas says:

    @Papii

Hi mate. If you ask me personally, I believe CQ would work quite well. He knows the club and might also help out with the next manager. Phelan getting demoted or leaving could be an issue, but imo everyone is under a microscope. Just like Brown and O’Shea left the club when their time was up, the same could apply to long term servants on Fergie’s staff. And who knows? Phelan might get offers to manage some clubs anyway. I remember Burnley were briefly interested in him after Coyle left them.

But like I said, I also get where some fans come from. CQ’s ambitions didn’t help us maintain some consistency in terms of training methods and tactics. I understand the first time he left but after his Real tenure was a bust, he should have realized what his limitations are. Anyway, what’s done is done. I don’t hold any grudges, but I understand why some would. But like you said, I don’t think Fergie is keeping that against him.

  291. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

    Fletch

its a Grey Suit do’ and the usual white dress. Im going with Grey suit & Navy Blue shirt and silver stripes tie. The other best best man is wearing the same but im sexier ;)

The bridemaids are in some kind of Blue-ish/Black mix.

The grooms wearing a darker shade of grey suit with grey waistcoat, white shirt and grey tie. So he’ll be the same colour but more distinguishable and bride will have some kind of flower on her which will match her to her bridesmaids, groom and best mens..

    I think I’ll be okay.

  292. CedarsDevil says:

    Costas

Fantastic stats on the defensive pairing…… We’ll get on it after the tease campaign is over

  293. Sandeep1878 says:

Cedars, is it 2 meter Peter?

  294. CedarsDevil says:

    Sandeep – Of course not

  295. Sandeep1878 says:

  296. CedarsDevil says:

Right, I will end this, very difficult one…….. Its Aaron Wilbraham at Nowrich, he reached the landmark when he scored against Fulham last week

  297. Mikekelly12 says:

Does he play for Swansea ?

  298. Sandeep1878 says:

  301. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

I think being a part of the backroom staff and being a long serving player are different in this CQ v MP situation. Players can be afforded to be treated like pieces of meat because they have their expiration date but Staff/Colleague have feelings  SAF has a friendship and relationships with the staff, so giving one the boot might be harder to consider in this scenario as its more personal than judging by ability like he does with players.

Anyways I can see Phelan here for a long time…….In Phelan , We Trust 8)

  302. Utd4life says:

I doubt SAF will take back CQ. However, if SAF feels that UTD are missing CQ’s tactical nous in Europe then he may just take him back again. By the way, was CQ around when Barca beat us in Rome?

As for movies, I’d take the likes of Heat, Scarface, GodFather over Avatar, Titanic, Starwars, etc anyday.

Re Quieroz, Good tactician, good #3 but I think we can do better. Agree that he orchestrated our last win over Barca, but he was pants at Madrid and the Portuguese national side (with a decent squad as well)

Clint, Sounds like a plan cheers.

    I guess liam Britton

  308. FletchTHEMAN says:

Don’t usually comment on other teams players but Pappis Cisse has been brilliant for the barcodes.

  309. MG says:

I’m ready for the number 2 position at OT

I’ll keep on phoning friends especially Cedars

Cedars what am I bloody going to do against Barca?!

  310. Atin says:

    Cedars – Britton!

Read somewhere that SAF was impressed with the player.

  311. Costas says:

    @Cedars

    Now it’s over.

    @Utd4life

No mate. Quieroz left the previous year. According to Fergie though, they were still using some of his methods during training sessions.

    @Papii

Your last couple of sentences are starting to give me nightmares.

  312. Atin says:

    crap :|

  313. King Eric says:

Without being precious where the fuck am I in your line up you bastards!! Fuck the lot of you.

Phelan won’t be going anywhere. Fergie clearly loves him being around as do the players as highlighted in Nevs book. CQ talk usually pops up when we get beat. Ha.

Nah fergie aint gonna tinker and rest players at this stage. One or two changes perhaps but nowt daft.

Ha. Swansealona have EIGHTY per cent possession yet lose two nil.

  314. Costas says:

    @Fletch

Hi mate. You want me to look at Buchan and a specific partner or just what our defensive record was when he played in general?

  315. CedarsDevil says:

Right folks as i promised Costas that I will debate his excellent stat provided at 17;36 regarding our defensive pairing…

When you look at the number of games started together the difference is incredible, however the goals per games conceded is not only dependent on a defensive pair is it? That argument fails for me.

  316. Sandeep1878 says:

    Thanks for the answer,

let roll the next one then,

which is the only player to have scored in all of the below derbies,

    Glasgow

    Merseyside

    Manchester

    this will be fairly easy…

use Bing, since Google is crashed by Cedars ;)

  317. WillieRedNut says:

“I don’t give a fuck about leeds and their weak crew, what ya gonna do when Willie and Cedars come for you”

  318. CedarsDevil says:

    MG

Will have to ring you back on that one!

  319. MG says:

    King Eric

    Papii mentioned you at 12.15

  320. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

King Eric – Your lined in my post to replace SAF ;) Yeah Fuck you guys ! on KE’s behalf !

its been a Good Friday on RoM….Papii Cisse scored ! Go On My Son! Do those Shitty Cunts soon !

  321. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

  322. Costas says:

    @Cedars

Like I’ve always said, numbers won’t tell the whole story. Concede goals are never just the responsibility of the defensive duo. Or just the back 5 for that matter. Also, football (and our style of play) was different in 89-97 compared to 05-11. However, stats can be an indication of how things shape up. Bruce and Pallister were more tenacious, but Rio and Vidic seem to be more effective.

  323. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

    Lined up*

Sand-Balls-Deep ;) I SAID CRAIG BELLAMY AGES AGO ! Now Pay Me !!!

  324. JC says:

    Guardian Match pointers:

    • United’s total of 76 goals is the second most of any team after 31 games of a Premier League season – United set the record of 78 back in 2001-02

    • QPR have not had a victory at United since January 1992 when a Dennis Bailey hat-trick helped them win 4-1

    • Antonio Valencia has 12 assists and four goals from 16 top-flight starts this season

    • Anton Ferdinand has scored an own goal in his last two appearances at Old Trafford

    • United have the best pass completion rate in the division since the return of Paul Scholes – they were sixth best before

    Let’s have another one Anton… :D

  325. CedarsDevil says:

    Costas

From pure observation I would go for Rio/Vida as probably the better pairing my heart though has a slightly bigger spot for Bruce & Palli…

    Sandeep

    Giggs12 got it pal

  326. Sandeep1878 says:

    New thread,

    Cedars and Papii,

  329. Utd4life says:

Costas. Thanks for the answer mate.

  330. Sandeep1878 says:

Looks like King Eric missed his mention ;)

  331. WillieRedNut says:

I don’t give a flying fuck! I was in the original clique! :D So fuck all yo all lists ha ha ha. ;) I’m straight outta Compton mofos! Peace though….

  332. CedarsDevil says:

    Willie

    Liked the leeds one!

  333. FletchTHEMAN says:

    Costas,
Either way would be interesting. Probably better stats for Buchan alone because of the run of games. Buchan partnered with Brian Greenhoff and then with Gordon McQueen (Hayley’s da for you young bairns)

Buchan was close to 450 games, McQueen more like 180 before injuries got the better of the both of them. Imagine Buchan/McQueen was the better pairing. Buchan left in 83 and McQueen in 85 or there abouts

  334. Costas says:

Speaking of cliques, where’s our friend capo and his 5 other usernames?

    @Utd4life

    Sure no problem.

    @Fletch

Ok, I’ll have a look at just his own stats. Hus numbers are impressive from what I can tell. 456 games for us and they were all starts. I’ll tell you what I found in one of the newer threads.

  335. King Eric says:

Ha. Cheers lads. So I was. Never saw my name on Clints list. Too right I need a hug cedars!
