PICTURE: Former United player posts picture of first game as a kid with Beckham

Mats Moller Daehli posted a picture to his Instagram account of his first football game. He was born in Oslo but lived in London for two years after his father, a football journalist, moved to England for work.

He returned to Norway and played for Lyn but was spotted by Manchester United when he was 12-years-old. He trained with United a few times before joining the club as a 15-year-old.

Daehli won the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award at the end of his first season after signing a professional deal at 17, but was allowed to leave the club last summer to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Molde.

He has just signed for Cardiff, following another former team mate to work with Ole again, Magnus Wolff Eikrem, but this picture shows he became a red a lot earlier than we thought.

Mats Daehli was a tidy youngster for us and did well with Ole in Norway. When he signed for Cardiff, we still had a right of first refusal to bring him back, but the club declined.

Still think it would be aces to bring back Mats Mangnus Eikrem, Pobga and even Morrison to see what they could do.

Morrison will have to get over todays shelling by City mind.

I read quotes from him that said he turned down United in order to be in the first team squad at Cardiff, I was shocked when he actually left United as he hadnt even reached under 21 level, but he always looked good in under 18 games I saw, hope he does well at Cardiff

Do we still have a buy-back clause ? Could we have forced Cardiff to put one in his contract ?
