Not too sure about the V colour – why not white or red?

hmm. i actually like it, but i think the V should’ve been red. is it really the away shirt anyway?

not THAT bad!
I’ve only just STARTED getting used to the AIG shirts and now from next season we’l have Aon on our shirt, its going to start looking weird all over again.
I miss the Vodafone jersey so badly now. Not our performances in them though! :P

the darker color is not even black… its just ugly. i was hoping for a black with red (or white) V…

Looks pretty sweet I think.

July 4th, 2009 @12:02

It’s pretty neat but I can’t help but feel that it would look much better if the blue strip is red or gold instead.

mygif
Ragged Said,
July 4th, 2009 @12:05

is that grey? well at least we wont have to play southampton in it!

mygif
Tufty Said,
July 4th, 2009 @12:07

The picture shown is of a fake shirt, made in Thailand from word of mouth and speculation on what the shirt will look like.
Probably from the same place where those supposed home shirts with white Chevrons were made and the ones with Saudi Telecom as the sponsors.
Lots of these shirts get made, some look like the real ones, but miss off details such as things on the back or design elements specific to the shirt.

One key giveaway on a fake shirt is the way in which its presented.
They always stick the same tags hanging from the arm. These tags arent even on genuine shirts.
They always have them either on a manakin or lying ond a dodgy floor/bed.

The away shirt is black and will replace the blue shirt, given the similar style to the home shirt, I doubt it will have a chevron, if it does, it wont be that colout blue.

mygif
silas Said,
July 4th, 2009 @12:26

It’s fake. It must be. I hope it is ;)

Our away kit should be all black with red V. That would be great (kinda the like we had in 07/08 – http://store.manutd.com/stores/manutd/_artwork/_common/kit_selector/153/dummy.jpg )

mygif
steveauburn Said,
July 4th, 2009 @12:27

I can’t see the point in buying the new shirt if we are just gonna have it for one season.

I hope during this credit crunch they reduce the price!

mygif
ERIC THE RED Said,
July 4th, 2009 @12:27

This closed season just gets worse and worse! Ronaldo gone, Tevez gone (although he can fuck off after what he said), Owen in, the worst shirt design ever and now to compound my misery they’ve made it in grey and fucking blue! If there was a God he’d take me now!

mygif
letranger0 Said,
July 4th, 2009 @12:33

New away shirt? I sincerely hope not.

mygif
BlackBabyJesus Said,
July 4th, 2009 @12:39

Fucking terrible.

The white one with the red V is alright though.

mygif
jetelinho Said,
July 4th, 2009 @12:46

to swissred &others:
I THINK (!) that it IS BLACK THOUGH

the problem lies with the author of the foto & wrong use of flash; also the blue will be (well IF!) a little different – look at GK away shirt at offic. web – megastore.

well, nevetheless – I wanted BLACK with RED …

King Eric Said,

Eric – Read Tufty’s post regarding the shirt!

The away kit is fair if what am seing is black but the v shd be red or white. H’ver we need s.aguerro to bring in some talent. In sir alex we trust though.

I think i wont be investing in any united kits this year. i’ll stick to the classics , last season i bought myself a 1963 replica with law 10 on the back. Think i’ll invest in a george best 1968 replica this year

I would change the blue color on the “V” for red or white…

mygif
Phoenix Red Said,
July 4th, 2009 @13:36

I sincerely hope this is a fake, far away from the eventual real one. Its fuckin AWFUL, might follow others advice and buy a replica, fancy 77 cup final myself. Usually i dont mind a bit of blue or indeed a blue shirt, but the blue chevron!!! Its got to be red, if the shirt was black with a red chevron, i’d give it a chance, worn with black shorts too!

mygif

All this v for victory shit is getting on my nerves!

It might end up as egg on our face as victorless! All too american influance in my eyes! This aint america, us british dont go for things like that! What next a fucking eagle on the shirt as well as a name change, Manchester United Bears, or Manchester United Bulls

Who knows!

mygif
sanj Said,
July 4th, 2009 @23:57

trevor, america has nothing to do with the kit design. pure rubbish. united has supporters from all over the world, not just the british.

@Altonian , moan moan moan

your sick of hearing lately ? if i recall i never seen you comment on ROM before but surely were all nothing but bitters commenting on an awful kit that has what i and many believe city colours … opinions, deal with it ! Phoenixred , good decision (Y)

mygif
Trevor Said,
July 5th, 2009 @3:07

With regards to my comments its my view. I have read reports that the V is also a sign for Victory or something like that. If this is true its way over the top for me!

mygif
Trevor Said,
July 5th, 2009 @3:15

Someone also mentioned that it is supposed to comemorate Uniteds First Strip.

Newton Heaths first strip in 1878
was green and yellow checkered, Front Half Green Half Yellow with Bak Reveresed.

when they Changed to Manchester United in 1902 their strip was an all red top, they did however introduce white top with Red V during the years 1922 to 1927.

I just dont get it! If honest id rather have plaed in a retro kit simular to when we played man city to comemorate the Munich Disaster!

mygif
Trevor Said,
July 5th, 2009 @3:16

To view the histroical kits United and Newton heath have used please visit the following site.

@Trevor:The “V for Victory” thing was said by Park.

http://therepublikofmancunia.com/v-for-victory-as-united-release-100-year-celebration-kit/

Also, the kit is supposed to be reflective of the kit we wore in the 1909/10 season, the season in which OT was first used.

Dreadful … as is the new home shirt … I’m afraid the only new jersey with style and which actually works from a design point of view is the white/red goalkeepers one. The problem with the new jersey’s are basic design issues … for black (the ‘V’) to work on a red backing, with a black round neck, instead of a slight V shape neck shows there should be more subtle alteratins to the one we’ve now got. It looks like a design in an early stage … It’s been a number of years since I’ve liked a Man U kit. I buy the retro classic ones (the yellow and blue being the last one Ipurchased) … we need a new design team ASAP!

mygif
hurr Said,
July 5th, 2009 @19:24

Not fake apparently. It’s up on Nike’s site:

I see the pros and cons with Owen… A little… not really… I hate ‘em still… but now I have to see that twat in the ugliest kit I have seen in a long time! Woe is me and you…

mygif
Tom F Said,
July 6th, 2009 @12:16

It’s not a fake, but I have to say they have quite a few cameras knocking about in the Nike sweatshops now don’t they.

I am sure the 10 year olds who sew our shirts together have no intention of leaking these shirts to the public. That’s why the official United store had to put the date forward when unveiling the new design.

I like this one, really don’t like the home one though!

mygif
Tom F Said,
July 6th, 2009 @12:21

Also, It’d make sense if this was our new away shirt as it is a reversed colour of the new away keepers jersey.

Whats up with the fucking city colours??

mygif
torbis Said,
July 7th, 2009 @9:13

Vidic is God, I was just about to write the same thing when I red your comment. WHAT THE FUCK is up with having the colours og our behatred fucking nabours on the chest? You got to be kidding me, turn it into a red stripe and I’ll buy some of it.

mygif
CraigB Said,
July 7th, 2009 @11:30

Who comes up with this shit? The home kit looks like a mistake gone all wrong. The away kit is a little better, but holy crap. Is this the best they could come up with for the best team in the world?

mygif
Ashil Said,
July 7th, 2009 @11:59
