John O’Shea was on the Reading bench today for Manchester United’s 2-0 win in the FA Cup. O’Shea made close to 400 appearances for us after graduating from the academy. He then spent seven seasons at Sunderland before signing for Reading this summer.

O’Shea has been a regular starter for the Championship club but was left out of this FA Cup game. In the first half, Tiago Ilori picked up an injury, so O’Shea was sent to warm up. He was greeted with the Stretford End singing his chant although he wasn’t the player to replace Ilori in the second half.

However, O’Shea stayed behind after the game signing autographs for the fans and had a chat with former teammate and United’s current manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
