PICTURE: Rio Mocks Tevez’s Goal Celebration

rio mocks tevez

Following Carlos Tevez’s two goals against Manchester United in the League Cup, he made a ‘yapping’ motion with his hand, suggesting that Gary Neville was wrong to support the manager in not paying £47m for the Argie prick.

He then did several interviews, claiming United should do their talking on the pitch and called Neville an “idiot”.

Walking off the pitch yesterday, Rio Ferdinand mocked Tevez by replicating his goal celebration.

Don’t you just love having the last laugh?

united fans should blow that pic up to an enormous size and stick in manchester city centre.
wait no ………… we’re not one of those small petty clubs

  3. JW says:

Thats awesome and all, just hope it doesn’t add to his suspension :)

  4. melbourne_red says:

    hate the suspension…..
the match was on at 7 in the morning here in melbourne…..
and the day went so well!!!

We always have the last laugh!! I fuckin love Rio, gutted the FA have again victimised him! Thought he grew into the game last week, couple of rusty moments, (Tevez’s run in the first half, before being out muscled, and tevez getting in front for the goal) but he brings some calmness back to our defence and can teach Evans about distribution! U N I…….T E D!

With the dicks in charge of the FA, we can never be too sure about it…. Read somewhere that Bitter Shieks are getting really bitter and is questioning Garry Cock’s ‘public image’ (if he has one).

Hope isnt true because I want the Cock to remain with the bitters forever just as much as I want FSW to stay at the Dippers…

  10. Tony Starks says:

off topic… lots of stories today linking Anderson with loan to Lyon… that will leave us a midfielder light unless the invisible Hargreaves somehow comes back… lets hope people like Fletcher and Carrick stay fit..

  11. scruffynat says:

    @ GHTT

that is some amazing link. and gary cook is the biggest twat of them all. I hope he keeps coming out with such amazing quotes because that way we’ll never be short of motivational stuff for the lads!

Is there a Gary Cook chant anywhere out there

    @Tony Starks

In anderson’s case the fact that saf dropped him shows he hasnt done well enough which i agree with

if he cant take being dropped as a challenge and prove himself,i am sorry, that isnt the characteristic of a united player and he can fuck off for good

  18. EnviousNV says:

Evra celebrating with Rafa’s ‘It’s all over’ hand gesture is also worth mentioning… Priceless !!

  19. MG says:

The last laugh will be when we beat them in there little stadium on the way to the 19th

No one here forget that we have unfinished business – and it won’t be over until it’s over.

And then we will start all over again

We will never die no matter what they say or what our owner’s are up to.

  20. Markus says:

could just as easily been directed at that bellend Bellamy, who would mouth off at anyone for anything, and as soon as the person responded, would give that gesture.

  21. MG says:

And Vidic is back according to SAF

Thank the Lord for that then

Come back big man and take your place : )

  22. paddysjumper says:

    @ tony starks
its a strange one mate , he hasnt lived up to his first season , but he can do a job and is a good squad player , if he were to go on loan , id rather it be to an english team so hes playing in the premiership , also talk of getting their keeper in exchange ? maybe this will be a start of a clear out ?

  23. Redbeard says:

    Morning all

    Love the celebration!

Slightly worried about the six match ban he’ll probably get for incitement though!

  24. lukemallia says:

from what i gathered anderson is gonna be gone for good..dunno what to think he’s been quite hit and miss for use..maybe SAF is making some room for the creative midfielder we’ve been waiting for in summer..afterall scholes is getting on..unless he’s not planning on having Carrick Fletch Gibson & Hargo (?) as our mids..a chilling thought that

  25. Tony Starks says:

… but doesn’t it just look like he’s waving to someone in the crowd?…

  26. MG says:

    @Hurdy Gurdy

    Oh My God

    You’re kidding me right?

So I mean it would be rude of me to call him a spastic

So is he Gary Cooks illegitimate love child?

    Priceless : )

  27. Altonian says:

    Haha quality!

Anderson is in the squad for Sunday and I expect he’ll play as part of a 5 man midfield (although I wish he’d play Rooney / Berba, can’t see it happening though), always seemed to do well against Arsenal in the past. In the long term though I can’t see him staying unless his attitude changes. He seems to think he’s world class already and automatically deserves a starting place when he’s still got a lot to learn.

  28. Jandsdad says:

    @ Hurdy Gurdy Man

Is that Collybore’s younger dumber brother?
Seriously wtf is he on about?
So not only do United get assistance from referee’s and the fa all the time, always being elevated in the media and never criticised, they are also in league with the Devil himself.

Des this mean I should also throw away my dirt devil vacuum or be damned for all eternity?

Well you learn something new everyday.

  29. Mic says:

Epic and he was solid that match aswell! Can’t wait for the 4 games to be over and actually have Evra, Rio, Vida, Wes in defence!! FINALLY our back four playing together in what seems like forever!!

  30. Costas says:

Well done Rio! I wondered if one of our own would mock Twatez!

  31. themufc1999 says:

    @ Hurgy Gurdy Man
I never thought scouse fans would go as far as blamin the devil for uniteds success. For fuck sake. Get a fuckin grip.

Its not the first time I’ve heard shite like this. This Muslim lad at work condemned another muslim lad who I’m mates with for supporting Man United because of the devil on his shirt. Said something on the lines of you can’t be a muslim and support something with a devil on it. My mate told him to fuck off and stop being pedantic. Seriously the lengths some people will go to. A grown man sitting in front of a camera, which he set up himself, talking to himself and postinf it on youtube. How very sad.

  34. Swissdevil says:

Hi mates! this is brilliant! just class! hopefully we’ll get the last laugh on sunday as well…! lets trash the baby-gooners!

  35. RED SAM says:

it seems like city fans has had enough of united..check out this comments………………”It’s on nights like these you wonder whether it’s actually worth all the shit that goes with supporting a football team.

“Just think of all those perfectly happy folk who like, say, opera or the theatre and never have to spend days worrying about whether Hamlet will be a good play or Tosca will be a good tune and never go home so dejected having watched the cast fuck it up.

“Why did we have to be football fans?”

Ah, but that is the great masochistic joy of it all.” :)

The fact that you bought a Dirt Devil when there are so many other brands you could have chosen is further proof that you worship Satan and will burn for an eternity.

  38. RED SAM says:

sunday’s duel is worth waiting for, apart from the rivarly on show, there will also be some tight personal battles on and off the pitch….

CAMPBELL VS ROONEY…. now for this one i can’t help but feel sorry for this old man.you’ve just left notts county and struggled to find a decent club leave alone even kick a ball at that time, and after the struggle and the hassle, your first home game you are given the task to handle the world player of the year elect..that’s just too much for the grandpa……

SONG VS FLETCHER……. some years back neither us or arsenal fans could have taken either of these in a united-arsenal cracker. back were the days when keano vs viera were the in-thing no wonder since they left this encounter has lost it’s bite. imo i feel flecth and song are the most improved players the league has had for years and whenever one of them is missing from their respective teams, their absence is dearly felt…..this is one battle i think will have a strong influence with the outcome of the match….

ARSHAVIN VS OUR DEFENCE …….. our defence are about to be given one hell of a ride by this little russian magician no matter which position he plays.but one thing am sure the likes of vidic ( hopefully) and company are ready for this twat after the two experience with him

VALENCIA VS CLICHY…….for those that don’t know el margo always gets the better of clichy except for the first game at OT and considering that’s the wing we happen to rely on these days, gael is in for battering…..

  39. Costas says:

Wenger seemed quite civil in his comments today. I hope we get out first league double over Arsenal in 5 years.

  40. aig alex is god says:

    Red sam

it is fabregas vs fletcher than song vs fletch imo.i can see only rooney coming out on top.arsenal are better when it comes to the other battles

  41. Paul Parker says:

    RIO !!! RIO !!! RIO !!!

He’s been worth every penny since he joined and he’s still going strong. Apart from a moment of genuis from Tevez his performance was reassuring considering his lack of games. As another promising young english player I think CHRIS SMALLING was a bargain at 7 mil. He’s only 20, and if Wenger and Alec were both after him he’s clearly a promising prospect. Lets give him time to develop. by the time he’s 25 he’ll have 5 years of top flight experience behind him and a full career ahead. His value can only go up.

with Rio being “crucified for the sins of Old Trafford’s success” by the powers that be, at least we’ll have Vidic back for Sunday so lets hope he’s in form. I think we’ll be too much to handle for Arsenal. Our bench is looking really strong. Having the choice of Nani and Valencia means we’ll always pose a threat down the right. I can see the Arsenal back four being hit on the counter attack with crosses into the box. we just need the rest of our midfield to do the business. According to my Crystal Ball, I can also see Arsenal convincingly beating Chelsea….

  42. RED SAM says:

    @ aig

yeah mate i knew they were both defensive but again so were viera and keano..Am not trying to compare the two but from the slight look of the way arsenal have been playing this season ,song has had the green light to move more forward considering fabregas is not a typical no 8 rather than a more no 10.But that is if denilson who is the one that does most defensive duties, plays.

All the same i except a domination from the football genious.

  43. aig alex is god says:

    Red Sam

Its simple for us. Stop Fabregas and Arshavin and we win the game. Fletch is good enough to keep Cesc quiet but Rafael/brown Vs Arshavin is a bit of a mismatch. Arshavin can give both of them a torrid time.Valencia wont have much joy either because Clichy is a really quick and top class left back. My fear is that Rooney will be isolated like he was for long periods in the Old trafford game due to the lack of domination from the midfield.Fletcher was excellent in that game but Carrick and giggs were poor and were dominated by Arsenal midfield. Scholes/anderson and carrick will have to do better

  44. aig alex is god says:

Diaby will be missed by Arsenal. Apart from the OG was excellent at Old Trafford

  45. King Eric says:

aig – Hi mate . What do you mean Arsenal will come out on top in every battle v United? Just like the semi final last year. Arshavin is either great or shite. Valencia should get the better of Clichy or Nani. Ronnie NEVER could beat him though. Giggs against Sagna. Vidic against fucking Bentdner or Eduardo. Not to mention our midfield should shit on theirs. Have some more faith . I seem to recall you being like this prior to City and we know how that turned out. It may of course just be me but I am feeling very confident for Sunday. Fergie has said its THE most important game of the season and when the lads are riled up along with our away support I have to fancy them. Look at Everton. Bullied the cunts and didn’t give them time. As did Stoke and the Chav’s. If you allow them to play they will. United won’t.

  46. King Eric says:

Have to say and I don’t want to be too premature but has Fabregas EVER had a good game against United? I cannot recall one.

  47. RED SAM says:

    Aig

we shall also miss ando what happened to “he shits on fabregas” :( ?

  49. Altonian says:

Why shall we miss Ando, he’s in the squad so i’ll be suprised if he doesn’t play really.

  50. denton davey says:

I’m hoping that all these “AndersonOut” stories have about as much truth as the rumours that Nani’s days were numbered. From my viewpoint, Anderson is a great talent that needs to be nurtured – and he’s not getting enough playing time. How could he not be frustrated watching Darron GIbson and Michael Carrick getting first-team action ahead of him ?

I’m also wondering why it’s all gone sooooo very quiet on the HargreavesWatch ? About ten days/fortnight ago there was a “report” that UTD had had a 90 minute closed-doors practise match so that Hargreaves could get in some game time – since then, silence. What’s up with that ?

Since I’ve given up trying to predict SAF’s selections – always being wrong and often being proven wrong – I won’t try to do so for Sunday. I would expect that VDS, Vidic, Evra, Fletcherinho, and WayneRooney would be certainties but as for the others ???????????????????????

I really, really, really hope that Sol Campbell is playing instead of Vermaelen. Seeing Mikael SIlvestre in their starting line-up wouldn’t frost my cookies, either.

  51. RED SAM says:

Aig – sorry i has to disagree with the issue regarding clichy. He may be quick but it has been all clear he struggles with quick and physical opponents…Valencia at wigan , aruna kona at psv , anelka and diouf at bolton…….

If nani plays on the right then i may have to think he will struggle but mark my words CLICHY WILL STRUGGLE AGAINST VALENCIA !

  52. geneside says:

off topic but my bad moment of the match was when bellamy got a shot in the head by a coin thrown by one of the fans…………..

    this is not done …
it is absolutely without disgrace an act of shame and slimy……..

  53. aig alex is god says:

    King Eric

Hi mate.I meant to say Arsenal will come out on top in the battles that RED SAM mentioned. I meant Arshavin Vs Brown/rafael and Clichy Vs Valencia.I did not mean the overall game.I can see Evra doing well against Nasri/Walcott and Vidic doing well against Bendtner. I was just talking about those 3 battles that he mentioned, not the game as a whole

I will tell you a secret.Whenever United have a tricky game i bet we will lose. That way we win most of the times. I bet against my cousin City will knock us out in the carling cup, we won. I bet we will lose to Roma and we hammered them in 2007. On the other hand i backed us to win at Anfield this season we lost there so i have decided to back against united in a big games.I lose my money but United win. Sounds silly dosent it? :D

  54. aig alex is god says:

    King Eric

Also Arshavin is a big game player Imo. He was good against Liverpool both games and against United this season. He wasnt good against Chelsea but has started only one game against them. Fabregas has never had a good game against United hence i am backing fletch to keep him in his pocket the whole game

  55. RED SAM says:

Aig put your bet me united to hammer arsenal :)

  56. Wakey says:

    @aig alex is god

The thing with Anderson is the same issue Nani has been having though. That is he gets picked plays well, losses his place, doesn’t play for a few games, gets picked plays badly and seems to get made the scapegoat. Also he hasn’t often been picked with another player that allows the whole of the CM to operate as unit as they don’t compliment each other. When he has played in a 4-4-2 with Fletcher he has often looked really good but with some of the others (Gibson for example) the partnership hasn’t worked.

Football is a confidence game as well as a team game and runs of games are essential to top form as it builds confidence and builds a solid unit. Certainly if you take the season as a whole and look at our CM’s I don’t think he has played any worse than anyone but Fletcher. Carrick, Scholes, Gibson and Anderson have all looked out of their depth in atleast 50% of the games each has played and the Midfield has a whole would benefit significantly if a First choice 4 was decided on and only small changes being made to it each game rather than 3 of the 4 changing thats pretty much happened this season and then I think all the midfielders would be able to up their game and it would be easier when a change is needed to be made

  57. Costas says:

Arshavin is their danger man no doubt. If Brown of 07-08 was starting at right back, I wouldn’t be afraid of Arshavin. But it’s Brown of 09-10. I hope he will handle the Russian.

Also, Fabregas hasn’t had great games against United, but he has been quite good on a few occasions. The 0-0 draw at OT last May is one.

  58. Costas says:

Oh, we are predicting already? I am predicting a 1-1 draw. :(

  59. pbozz86 says:

I see tiny tears has been an inspiration to his team mates again

What a leader. You cant buy class like that.

  60. RED SAM says:

    Wakey

couldn’t agree more.It seems like united are making life hard for anderson or how can you explaine a player who was a winger at gremio, attacking midfielder/second stricker at fc porto suddenly been given defensive duties at the biggest stage of them all ??

  61. ste the heywood red says:

amazing the other nite it was great to see the team and fans pulling together as one and putting the berties in their place.Just a quickie for you all have you heard man city have announced a shirt sponsorship deal with VIAGRA yeah its true apparantly the reason being just like city you wait years for a semi then go and lose it at the vital moment .

  62. RED SAM says:

What else do england need to restrain this barstand off the captaincy ? First he shags a minor then his teamates wives ?

But he is so damn clever he chooses to fuck with the soft guys wives why didn’t choose coleen :) ?

  63. RED SAM says:

    *barstad* i meant.

  64. Peter says:

A Manchester United fan and a Manchester City fan collide in a huge accident. Both cars are a wreck, but both men are unhurt.

“This must be a sign from God that we are meant to be friends,” says the United fan.

“I agree,” replies the City one.

The United fan then returns to the wreckage and pulls out a bottle of whiskey from one of a cluster of shopping bags.

“Look,” he says to the City fan, “this must be another sign from God. We should drink this whiskey to celebrate our friendship and survival”

He hands the bottle over to the City fan, who takes a large gulp from the bottle before passing it back.

He casually screws the top back on and returns the bottle to his car.

“Oh, aren’t you having any?” asks the City fan.

    “No,” he replies.

“I think I’ll wait until the police get here.”

  65. geneside says:

i think we need to start with owen and rooney to get things going..
berbatov should be used when we need posession…………..
so when we need him he has to subsitute owen….

  66. Costas says:

What a piece of crap John Terry is.

  67. Sayyid says:

    @geneside

I can just see Fergie playing 4-5-1 against Arsenal. Apart from last season CL semi, where we had an inform Ronaldo, our best success vs Arsenal has been playing 2 up front.

We need to have confidence in our midfield.

    VDS

    Brown Vidic Evans Evra

    Valencia Fletcher Carrick Giggs

    Rooney Owen

  68. geneside says:

but i think fletcher can be replaced by scholes ………..
sometimes fletch looses posession and gives away the ball very sloppily……

  69. RED SAM says:

Has anyone noticed how strong our reserve side are ? Our yesterday match against bolton highlighted the most underated thing about united that is great depth. They may say how arsenal academy are good bla bla bla but the truth is, they can’t match ole’s side !

  70. aig alex is god says:

    @wakey

agree. but i feel Anderson should be more consistent because SAF will rotate the players.Maybe Nanis recent revival can inspire him.If you are dropped it means you arent performing well enough and Ando hasnt been good enough but to skip training is not the way to take it. It should act as a catalyst and motivate Ando to perform better

  71. RED SAM says:

    Geneside

the only player good enough to replace fletch is a fit hargo. Do you exactly mean scholes to play defensive ? You gotta be kidding me …….

  72. lukemallia says:

bloody hate it when we start with just 1 up front..somehow thats what i feel is gonna happen with a 2nd striekr comin on if we’re a goal down

    my guess is

    VDS
    Evra Evans Vidic Brown
    Giggs Scholes Fletch Carrick Valencia
    Rooney

    my preferred team would be

    VDS
    Evra Evans Vidic Brown
    Nani/Fabio Giggs Fletch Valencia
    Rooney Berbatov

  73. Paul Parker says:

I’d LOVE to see Anderson start on Sunday, but I would be really surprised to see him in the line up. No he’s not as consistant as he needs to be YET but in the middle of the Park he’s become a quality “destructive” midfielder for us. Plus he’s young, and in time he’ll be let of the leash and start bombing forward. He’s added a defensive side to his game since joining us, so he’s becoming a more complete midfielder like a Keane/Viera or Gerrard/Lampard. so keep an eye on him Alec is no fool. But back to ARSENAL, I agree with what some of you are saying, thats EXACTLY what we need on Sunday, a solid midfield. I’d want to see Anderson and Fletcher in the middle breaking up the play, with Scholes in the centre, GIggs on the left and Nani/Valencia on the Right. Rooney can comfortably play upfront on his own with that midfield cos Giggs, Nani and Valencia can bomb forward with support while Fletcher Scholes and Ando cover the defence…. But hey what do I know ??? COME ON UNITED !!!!!

  74. Jandsdad says:

    @ ghtt

ask the knob jockey who’s emailing you why other sports teams, with the name devils directly in their title, from around the world are not at the top of their games as well if all you have to do to be succesful is to associate yourself with a
There is the new jersey devils NHL team as an example, not 100% on the NHL leagues but i don’t believe they are very good.

    @ Robdiablo

I did have a Henry the Hoover but i got rid in protest after the handball incident against the Irish.
I just found the receipt and was gonna return it when i noticed the price.
It cost £66 and 6 pence.
    I am doomed.

  75. bchilds says:

    Nice one Rio!

  76. Robbo the Red says:

Surely Rio just forgot to bring “Spit the Dog”

  77. Jandsdad says:

John terry is a scumbag, but what can you expect from someone who has a ma that is a thief and whose dad is a drug dealer.

  78. geneside says:

    @red sam

i am talking about scholes as he distributes the ball well…his passing is tend to accurate…
he can distribute the play to the flanks or wings…………
we have to admit that against arsenal we cannot score goles without proper permutation…..
scholes can show us a way to attack…….
though defensively he sometimes does nasty tackles……….

  79. The Edge says:

just because Arsenal are missing a couple of players and we are coming off the back of a great performance, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if we go there and be dissapointing. Arsenal are a quality side and without Rio we could be run ragged. I’ll take a draw in what is probably our hardest game of the season left.

Rooney against Campbell does make things sound easier though.

  80. Paul Parker says:

    @ RED SAM

I agree our reserve team is really strong. I can’t even keep up with everybody. I think Obertan is a great player. when Ronaldo first stepped on the scene with his step overs alot of people didn’t see his potential. I can see the potential in Obertan, and his confidence at a club like United is rewarded. I think he’ll be great for us in time, Diouf is ready to start, Macheda is gaining experience – all 3 are on the fringes of the first team I think our future is looking bright !

  81. geneside says:

    parker

    i totally agree with you………….
i have great faith in obertan and macheda……
i think if they are played in couple of matches the can do a great benifit….
at 1st they can be a little reserved but after couple of matches they really go into the rythm..
but they cannot be used in the match against bigger clubs as it is not worth the risk….first playing against not so big club will boost their confidence and as every match progresses they will groom eventually…

  82. Berbatovs' love life says:

    sorry off topic…

Goal.com just released a story saying Anderson was moving to Lyon on a swap deal that will send Hugo LLoris our way. I know Goal.com is not a great source but they seem to have some quotes in the article which may make it more real…

Wondering if any of you have heard anything…I would hate to see Anderson leave, but he is replacable, and LLoris = best keeper in the world for the next 10 years!! I would do the deal

  83. Paul Parker says:

RoM is BREAKING NEWS !!! JOHN TERRYS A WANKER !!!!!
I’ve lost count how much fucked up stuff this guy has done. Seriously , how can you give the England Captaincy to a KNOWN Racist ? Remember when the Captaincy was being discussed Rio was by far in better form, United were Champions of England AND Europe meanwhile Terry was in poor form but the PAPERS and MEDIA all dragged up Rio’s missed drugs test as a reason NOT to give him the England Captaincy… Apart from that what else has Rio done to anybody ? He give loads of money to loads of Charities in the UK and Abroad. He always has. He’s a real Role Model for this Country (when he’s not elbowing people hahaha) But John Terry is Wanker, proper fucking scum, and I look forward to seeing if the MEDIA take the same approach with him as they did with RIO. Even Stevie G wasn’t hung out to dry over his assault like Rio was over a flippin missed test. Can you imagine if this was a UNITED Player fucking his best mates wife ? Even if it was a fringe player it would be front page worldwide news and they’d be calling for his blood. Lets see how CHELSEA are treated on this latest scandal. He can’t CAPTAIN ENGLAND after this. Half the players don’t respect him anyway – surely this HAS TO BE the last straw – he really is a well known cunt. WOW. ok I’ve finished ranting :)

I know its not Football Manager, but if I could run things I would be on the phone with Gigi Buffon saying, hey your new manager is a fat spanish waiter, you should tell Juve to fuck off and come play for United for the next 6 years. Please. Pretty please.

  85. Drew Vader says:

And I really really really hope the Anderson stories are rubbish. He has the talent, he just needs the commitment to get himself fit and he could be our CM for years.

  86. rooney the new king says:

off the topic this is an intersting debate on the cafe ronaldo departure vs alonzo departure check this out.

    One more post —

About the gooners lineup. From what I can see of our formation on wed against City, we had a 3 man CM with Scholes sitting deep as the holding/Pirlo type while Carrick and Fletch buzzed around in front of him. Now, that obviously worked quite well in the second half, but Cesc seems to be playing rather high up the pitch these days, almost as a second striker or in the hole type striker. And this would leave Scholes trying to close him down, which, no offense to the Ginger Genius, would lead to 2 yellow cards maybe within the first 15 mins. But its a problem because I think we could do with having Paul in there to help us keep possession and ticking over and what not. But then again, he was kinda rubbish away at Anfield this year. Its a tough tough call for SAf…

Oh, and anyone know why Kiko wasn’t even in the reserves squad last night?? I hope he hasn’t injured himself again.

Oh, was anyone able to watch the reserves match? I am always interested to hear how certain players performed, like Fabio/Obertan/Diouf/Foster… Any help would be appreciated

  88. Shabadu84 says:

Pictures of today’s training show Anderson involved and looking rather happy. Hope it was just another case of tabloid stupidity and he gets a chance to shine on Sunday.

    Off topic but hilarious

    Tevez = merked.

  90. Paul Parker says:

Shabadu, got a link for those pictures mate ??? Obviously not calling you a liar mate just wanna see with my own eyes so I can tell others. Talk of him “leaving” is everywhere.

Does anybody have a link for those Training Photos ? seeing Anderson training with the squad today would make my day ! I’ll enjoy my night better knowing he isn’t AWOL in Brazil… or France.

bloody PAPERS get on my TITS !!!!!

    @ Geneside

Yeah, they need bulking up like Ronaldo did, Nani & the Twins too. Get em bigger and stronger and give em more game time. United have the most promising batch of players coming through in the entire league, we always have. We’ve got Obertan. Diouf, Kiko, Pogba and a host of Young English Players coming through the reserves thanks to Alec Great.

  91. geneside says:

but the absence of rio is the disadv that we have……..
although i think we will win…………

  92. doubletrouble says:

    Love that pic……. Priceless

  93. rooney the new king says:

Paul Parker – I wont have any sleep if anderson left, he has been poor and is way behind scholes carrick and fletcher, scholes even at 35 has more to offer has an attacking player than anderson does, fletcher and carrick also chip in with 5 to 7 a season, anderson 1 goal in 2 seasons. anderson had a very good first season but last season and this season he has been average at best.

  94. Jandsdad says:

    @ shabadu84

    cheers for the link.

Good to see Anderson looking relaxed and happy.

  95. Jandsdad says:

    @ rooney the new king.

Anderson is still a young player and should not be placed in the same category as Scholes and Carrick who are vastly more experienced than him.
I’m sure 5 years ago you would not have lost any sleep if Sir Alex had let Fletcher leave as well.

  96. rooney the new king says:

Jandsdad – propably difference is fletcher did not cost 18 million, and fletcher was not hyped to replace paul scholes, add the fact many ppl say anderson will do what scholes has done when anderson does not even look close to even being that. also fletcher at andersons age started to show his potiental and was playing more and more.

  97. King Eric says:

geneside – Yeah it should have been a fucking seat.

aig – Hi mate. Have to leave work now so will look at your response later mate.

  98. King Eric says:

aig – Have just read your first post in response to mine. Sorry mate I thought you meant the battles all over the pitch. As I said it depends which Arshavin turns up. A few Arsenal fans have been complaining about his attitude in certain games. As for the saying we will lose when you think deep down we may win I do not think its daft at all. Every little thing helps. I never give predictions now. I never wear my blue shirt anymore as we got beat by Leeds last time I did. I try and wear my 85 cup final shirt as we have beaten Wigan, Burnley, Hull and Citeh in that. Not very superstitious are we!

denton – Carrick deserves his place in the team above Anderson mate. For a start he reads the games better, breaks up play, great passer, calm and actually HITS THE ONION BAG.

  99. ste the heywood red says:

like some of the comments already said i like anderson too but has he improved enough since his first season watched him v city in 1st leg of semi at the council house and how many of his passes found a blue shirt and by the way rooney is the main man .

  100. Jandsdad says:

    @ rooney the new king

i hear what your saying but it was hardly andersons fault that he was bought for that price secondly the only people who hyped him as paul scholes replacement were the media before half of them and even seen him play.
Seeing as he was apparently lined up as the ginger genius’ apprentice he is never given the attacking midfield position that he showed so much promise at Gremio and Porto

  101. aig alex is god says:

    king Eric

we all have our little beliefs that may sound silly to others but it works for us and hopefully for United .

are you going to the game on Sunday?. if you do, wear the 85 cup final shirt. It is a massive game and a win would be priceless.

  102. Paul Parker says:

    Cheers Shabadu !!!

    @Rooney is King

Like others a saying, Andersons still a young man ! Add the fact this isn’t his country and he’s never played football in England before joining us. I don’t even think he speaks English properly yet. Imagine moving jobs to Brazil without speaking portuguese ? then put a big transfer fee around your neck, then be hailed as the “new scholes” – its not easy for a grown man let alone a young lad like Ando. Some players are really lucky and adjust quickly others take more time Its understandable. but to each his own, all I know is that if Anderson left i’d be gutted. remember when Ronaldo started ? EEEEEEEVERYBODY was slaggin him off when he first started his first few games because he kept doing step overs and losing the ball, being selfish etc. Ronaldo was a bit of a laughing stock early in his career with us, It took a few seasons before he came into his own. I always saw his potential, and I would have been gutted if he leftn after one or two seasons. Anderson is class hands down. and he’ll only get better so its a good job Alec is a master at developing players. People used to prefer Heinz over Evra… but look what a little time and BELIEF does for a player. Evra is for me the best left back in the world, better than Cole. I always support our young players, where do you think scholes came from ? he used to have bad games too when he started, he still does, shit happens. I say we should support our players no matter what. especially new young players. Anderson should start on Sunday and prove his doubters wrong. he’s class.

  103. rooney the new king says:

Paul Parker – who ever thought ronaldo was a laughing stock they are the laughing stock. ronaldo in his first season was sensational and at 18 he showed he had so much potiental. scholes had bad games but he put in moments of pure genius.

  104. Giles Oakley says:

As one of my dimmer girl-friends from about half a century ago once said, as if it was an entirely new thought, ‘He who laughs last, laughs last’. How true that seems today.

  105. Kings says:

Funny, but he should be careful the FA don’t hit him with an extra two games for ungentlemenly conduct. Tevez is a cunt.

  106. denton davey says:

Drew Vader @ 18:49: “I know its not Football Manager, but if I could run things I would be on the phone with Gigi Buffon saying, hey your new manager is a fat spanish waiter, you should tell Juve to fuck off and come play for United for the next 6 years. Please. Pretty please.”

AGREED – Buffon is 32/33 and looks like he could play at the top level until he’s forty. He’s absolutely fantastic and would represent an upgrade on VDS – which is really going to be tough to achieve. I have no idea of his contractual status but compared to, say, Hugo Lloris of Lyons, his purchase-price would be less but his wages would be more. But, that’s someone else’s problem – he’d be a fantastic addition to our team.

  107. denton davey says:

King Eric @ 20:17: “denton – Carrick deserves his place in the team above Anderson mate. For a start he reads the games better, breaks up play, great passer, calm and actually HITS THE ONION BAG.”

I can’t argue with the last point but in regards to the others let’s just agree to differ. I think that the team plays a tougher style with more grit and urgency when Anderson is paired with Fletcherinho – and that’s what’s going to be needed to shut down TheArse and their pretty passing.

I’m not too bothered about who SAF puts out but I would hope that he uses BOTH Nani on the left and Valencia on the right. Playing the Nani/Evra and Valencia/Raphael combinations gives the attack the most cut-and-thrust. IF Giggs is going to play then he can be a “withdrawn striker”. Bugger – there I go again trying to pontificate when the supreme pontiff will show his hand quite differently !

  108. cristiano tazmal says:

its fantastic to have d last laugh…we are d 90 minute wo play 90 minutes of football minute team
