Manchester United put in a fantastic performance in our 2-0 win over Chelsea. Chelsea didn’t have a single shot on target over the 90 minutes, the first time that has happened for a decade, with Ander Herrera assisting Marcus Rashford for the first, before scoring the second himself.

After the game, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte admitted that “Manchester United showed more desire and motivation to win the game. The fault is with me, I didn’t understand the situation.”

He wasn’t the only one to be confused though. Chelsea fans were left scratching their heads when, with United on the ball inside the box, Chelsea captain Gary Cahill picked his England teammate up off the floor instead of rushing out to defend, give his goalkeeper a view of the attack or try and play Lingard offside.

Herrera got his shot away and Cahill deflected the ball in to his own net.

It’s good to see that even in John Terry’s absence, Chelsea are able to give the armband to a player all too willing to help United succeed.
