Welcome lad, wishing you the best.

  2. AlphaRS says:

    That could be anyone.

  3. Tope99 says:

I hear the deal was about 17 millions(15 millions +2-add-ons).So it means Zaha and Kagawa are looled at in the same level. Kagawa won the bundesliga player of the year or season and his price is as that of a Championship player.I’ve watched some videos of Wilf and from what I’ve seen he’s a pretty good player but the price which was paid for him is just a hyperbole.

  4. Twisted Fatboy says:

Wait till you hear those stands calling your name, time to become a legend.

Welcome to the Greatest Club in the World.

  5. Bill Hick's Ghost says:

If he turns out to be the real deal, who gives a rats ass what he cost! Nice to see United taking a chance on raw British talent.

  6. DohaRed says:

Don’t know a lot about Wilfred – he has only recently come to the fore. But no-one can help a player reach their capability more than Sir Alex.

Welcome to the club Wilfred, we all hope you will be a success.

  7. Diego says:

    Tope99:
If that’s true then it’s bloody mad. We could have gotten Isco for the same price. Zaha must be on peanuts for the deal to make sense if the numbers quoted are even remotely true.

  8. Johnbosco Obiora says:

Welcome to Man united Zaha we wish you de best. And we want you to play good like CR7

  9. ys says:

    Just look at the picture
imagine how a Kid like Zaha must have felt ; walking into the stadium ,
dream come true ; at such a young age

  10. Dan says:

    @ys

Dream come true? Zaha’s an Arsenal fan haha.

Also saw this on another site, he arrived for his medical wearing an Imogen Thomas shirt. My lawyers say I can’t reveal her exact relationship with Ryan Giggs, so we’ll leave it at that. Made me laugh.

  11. Costas says:

Hopefully he”ll have better luck with injuries than our last -aha. :D

  12. Daniel88 says:

It annoys me hes an Arsenal fan.

  13. Iceman says:

Wow, that’s an amazing picture and sums up the transfer.
The world is at your footstep kid, it’s yours to grab if you work hard and play your cards correctly. Hopefully, in 5 years time we can look back at this picture as monumental.

  14. NBI Red Onion says:

    RVP was an arsenal fan.

  15. zigoo says:

what annoys me is him entering old trafford with a tshirt of imogen thomas nude…

now i hope that the boy doesnt turn out to be one of those playboy lifestyle lil cunts like pennant etc..

    gd luk to him

  16. Andromeda says:

I watched some videos and honestly you feel this kid has some Brazillian genes, an entertaining and fearless running down the pitch.his techniques and dribbling reminds me Ronaldo with a bit of selfishness and hunger.he has also a good vision for the goal, there are all positives as he has an incredible talent.perhaps with right nurturing and instruction a promising world star will be on the horizon.

  17. FletchTHEMAN says:

    Tope99 Not hardly mate. £10m + £5m add-ons.

Still think this is a United record for a Championship player.

Victor Moses signed for Chelsea for £9m + add-ons. Zaha is a better player and an England man, whereas Moses is a Nigeria international and will be lost for ACN etc.

  18. medumtum says:

Wish him the best. For an aspiring winger United is the place to be. Young British talent is always going to be more expensive, especially with the squad restrictions that add a premium. As for the midfield have a feeling we will look to strengthen there in the summer. For now the presence of the veterans means we have just enough options to see this season through. Though a bonus signing in January is always welcome.

  19. WeAreUnited says:

    @fletchtheman

so it’s official that he is england bound? I don’t know why, but somehow I remember that he can still choose for whom to play, becaause it was only a friendly?

I could be wrong and probably am, but anyone who knows more about the issue?

  20. WeAreUnited says:

This was said when he was to appear for England

“Because friendlies are classed as non-competitive games by football’s world governing body Fifa, Zaha would not be committing himself to England if he appeared against Sweden. “

  21. BOSSNIT says:

@ AlphaRS – He posted it on his personal Instagram

@ Diego – Shut up your playing too much football manager

    @ Dan – It wasn’t Imogen on his t-shirt , twas a look-a-like, don’t be so gullible

  22. FletchTHEMAN says:

    WeAreUnited
Technically true. Be surprised if there hasn’t been discussion of this issue though. United seem to rid themselves of ACN tied players pretty quick. Guess we can keep an eye on that one.

Fergie is probably on the phone with chum Roy at this very moment to seal the deal.

  23. medumtum says:

He has already been selected to play even if in a friendly. A wily winger is a rarity for england, more used to the pace and cross variety. Its down to him now and am sure and am sure he can be nudged towards the more sensible decision. Though asking anyone to join the england squad has to be a bit tongue in cheek.

  24. samuel - united WE stand says:

Who fucking cares if he’s an arsenal fan or proclaimed to be one? He grew up in london and that was inevitable. He’s a pro player looking go develop his career and reach as high a level as he possibly he can.

And those banging about him being a championship, trying to slide in a little snide doubt over his ability, again, what does it fucking matter? Palace have arguably one of the best youth development in the game and zaha has been taught well, technically he has it to reach the top top level, what stage he he came from has no relevance to how far he can go in the game. Banging on about pricetags when clearly he’s bought on installments. He’s a fantastic talent and you’d think people would be delighted to get one over other fierce rivals but it’s the same dull senseless hypotheticals, conspiracies and negativity.

  25. Dela says:

Everyone relax about the price OK? He’s an English player so there will always the “English tax” in signing him, but given how regulations always change and with still more calls for more rules about English squad players and home grown players, the extra little bit could prove to be worth it in the end. This kid is 20, and SAF sees something in him. Looking forward to seeing him come on in a United jersey next year,

  26. sdsa says:

dembele cost the same price…just saying

  27. FletchTHEMAN says:

Sky reporting the Zaha fee is £12m raising to £15m with add ons.

  28. medumtum says:

Meanwhile Diego Lopez is the Gk we’ll likely be facing against Real. They aren’t risking adan, still thats no St. Iker.

  29. Trydent says:

@Samuel-you beat me to it.None of these whinging cunts are United fans.Welcome the lad and be happy he wanted us.Instead we get the same negative crap from the same posters.

  30. wayne says:

Makes me laugh Utd don’t spend any money the club is broke and can’t afford anyone, start spending money paying to much fuck me
How the fuck is 10mill plus add ons to much in this day and age Stoke paid 10mill for Crouch can’t get fuck all for 10 mill, what i’ve read this lad is 20 and by far the best player in the championship, championship is a tough league.

  31. WeAreUnited says:

    @FletchTHEMAN

yeah I also thought the same, that SAF is on his way to tell Zaha and Hodgson that he should go for England :) we’ll see. I personally hope he doesn’t play for the Ivory Coast, cause I hate it when they leave between the season. I remember Park being in a good spell, scoring for fun etc and suddenly had to go to Asia. We have to expect that also from Kagawa. But yeah.

10mill is nothing for a 20 old player with great potential. I understand him being take from championship, but the lad is helping them get promoted. Does people understand that we send players on loan to championship to get experience, and Zaha is playing there regularly and also contributing for the team, so yeah, we have a good prospect over here.

I personally would have gone for Zaha and Muniain who is 20 also, who I bet is going for Barcelona and his pricetag is something near 30mill-40 mill. Anyway. Maybe we will? the more talent we get here, the betetr the team and the future is, so what’s the complaint?

Welcome Zaha and I truly hope and wish you establish yourself and help us on the glory towards more tittles:) You have what it takes.

  32. ayeni hammed bayo says:

    Welcome guy…………welcome too manchester united

  33. Aj says:

Dont give cr*p what anyone gotta say, this lad is good and only getting better. lets enjoy fact that all over the web we got fans of city, chelsea, lpool cr*ppin selfs outer fear running their hypocrite mouths bout money, debt and ffp now its us recruiting yet another star in the making. Rat cr*p running scared.

  34. tom c says:

welcome to the greatest club in the world, son. you’ll enjoy it here.

remember fuckers moaning on here about how RVP was too old and we didn’t need him and he was too fucking expensive. wont please them all.

  35. Phil Jones' Birdshit Streaks says:

Did he take that photo on his Gameboy? Holy low-res, Batman

  36. Dan-young says:

Iv got to say, if i was a young footballer destined to be the new lionel messi and could choose to play for any top club on the planet.. Id find it hard to see a reason why i should sign up to have my name mentioned by some of the scumbag negative cunts we seem to have leeching onto our club.

Zaha, welcome aboard lad! Cannot wait to see you tearing the premier league defences in two. Get your head down and im sure we will see the number 7 on your back in the future

    Fuck the doubters!

  37. Sunny says:

Now get Wanyama in the summer. He is a borne and bred United fan and Scholes is his biggest idol

  38. Redhot Concepts says:

Wanyama…I like!! We will rule the world again!

  39. DreadedRed says:

Welcome Wilfried Zaha, welcome to the Theatre of Dreams. Good luck son, and enjoy!

With hard work you can play for Manchester United. For now, forget about us. Focus on your team, Crystal Palace. Win!

  40. fergie is the boss says:

Diego – no you think it is mad, just because he is English. If zaha was foreign, you would call it one hell of a deal. Young foreign talent, is has overrated has anything you see, and lets be honest, the players you are mentioned, are not going to cost 17 million, they will up the price to 32 million, to 25 million. Nani and anderson cost the same price, and they were not proven. Ronaldo had one season in portugal, and one sensational game against united, and he cost has much as zaha, heck we only payed 10 million pounds for zaha, that is peanuts. And just because he came from the championship, does not mean he is rubbish. Sometimes you will fin those gems, and zaha could be one of them

  41. DreadedRed says:

I hardly see the relevance of the cost of Zaha. We identify players that we want at the club, and we pay the price required. Why people even bother to hazard a guess as to contract values and their relative worth, is beyond me. Without careful analysis, competent understanding, and most importantly without access to the contracts, what hope have you got? And that is only the easily quantifiable aspect. Other factors such as talent, health, physique, personality, proven ability, likely potential, even moral fibre are all carefully considered by those determining worth.

I bought a car for 14 000. My mate bought a car for 12 000. Did I get ripped off?

  42. Malik abiodun says:

I wish u gud luck boy n i wnt u 2 surpass nani so dt he cn b ashamed of himsef

  43. Ash says:

So now we are spending on a talented kid and still there are people who are complaining. Sir alex knows he missed many young players i.e Bale,Ramsey, chamberlain etc. Imagine if we had paid 7 millions and got Bale. Sir alex has realized he cannot let go talented players. So he has bought Jones,Smalling, Powell and now Zaha. I can bet all of them will have a great future for their club and country. Only a fool will say Jones is poor. I love how Phil jones plays. He is a beast and guess what he is 21 only. Same with Smalling. Powell just 18 showed his talents by scoring a beauty against Wigan. Zaha could turn out to be a great player. I get excited when we sign young talented players. Future is bright. :)

  44. domunited says:

Welcome to MUFC, lad. Do the club proud.

  45. ak47 says:

Great story! i hope the younger fans read stories like this to give them the truth behind what happened as opposed to the media drivel.

  46. FletchTHEMAN says:

Morning reds!……. Ahhhhh me, MATCHDAY at last!!!!!!

    Back on topic..

If our lad Zaha is out looking for a new home in Manchester Area he might just h ave a look at this recently vacated property.

Livin in style AND taking the piss on City ! MINT! HA!

    http://bit.ly/WZSHTV

  47. BayoRed says:

Lets focus on whether we bought a good player or not. I for one don’t give a damn that he cost 15M. Sir Alex and his team think he has what it takes. We invest in potential, we might get an Ashley Young or a CR7 its a risk but the team thinks its worth taking. We are lso good at developing talent so where we see potential we take a shot. Why complain when the Glazers spend on layers they could have easily spent our money on something else and nobody would even raise a finger.

  48. BayoRed says:

    “players”

  49. FletchTHEMAN says:

    BayoRed. Exactly right. Cheers.

Off topic: Real Madrid sign former keeper Diego Lopez from Sevilla as cover for Iker Casillas ruled out for up to 12wks.

    http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11835/8439761/Real-Madrid-have-agreed-a-deal-to-sign-goalkeeper-Diego-Lopez-from-Sevilla

  50. fwench says:

    this is excellent news.

imagine we could have had a complete mare and bought Scott Sinclair just to pad our squad with an english player………. then i would be gutted! :-)

  51. Diego says:

    Fergie is the boss:
I mentioned only one name: Isco. And about him costing North of £25m a simple google search would suggest that the transfer fees paid for Zaha and Isco would be very similar (given that the fee for Zaha will rise to £15m).

    http://bit.ly/VdzM8s

  52. DreadedRed says:

Evil laughs abound as we prepare to take over the world…

MU + ZAHA = World Domination!

    MUZAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ! ! !

  53. DreadedRed says:

I just bought a book for 40 quid. Was I ripped off?

Other books that appear on cursory glance to be just as readable, are available for 30 quid.

  54. DreadedRed says:

    Evra says:

“The boss has given a big message this season – he really wants to win the FA Cup. He really wants it and so do we. It is the only trophy that I have not won at Manchester United. That seems impossible given that I am now in my seventh year here. The FA Cup means so much and, one day, I hope I will win it. Hopefully this year.”

“Manchester United is the only team that can make 10 changes and still win. You might hear people call it a second team, but it’s not. Everyone is a United player and you trust each one of your team-mates. The manager makes those changes because he trusts that we are going to win. He’s not crazy, he knows exactly what he is doing.”

  55. FletchTHEMAN says:

This is mint! Next time one of your blue, black, yellow or green mates question why Man United are always on telly. You can quote them this:

United fans account for fully one half of the total EPL viewership!
That means that the new EPL TV contract, which will pay for their players contracts, and directly feeds down to all of English football, is driven by United fan base. Therefore, they should wake up every day and thank United for beating their miserable team to the championship every year.

errrm well it might sound better if you’ve had a we nip in the pub before you say it ;) Ha

    http://miniurl.org/A96

  56. fergie is the boss says:

Diego – and he is more proven than zaha? they have scouted this kid, fergie has not even travelled to dubai, so I concsider heir views moe higher up, than some 20 year old from spain, who is has unproven as zaha

  57. reddevil61 says:

did anyone notice the Imogen Thomas t sheet he was wearing giggsy my be lol. welcome to man u

  58. WhySoRed? says:

That’s the way Zaha Zaha, we like it, Zaha Zaha!

  59. BayoRed says:

Time to start line up predictions! Kick off 6 hours away “”sigh!!!”"‘, drink drink drink!

  60. reddevil61 says:

oops shit at spelling t Shirt, score 3-1

  61. samuel - united WE stand says:

Isco and zaha are NOT similar in any way. The spaniard is more of a attacking playmaker and a number 10, zaha is a winger who is adaptable and flexible to play either left or right and as for the fee, isco would have cost massive fees. So, no, it would NOT have made sense. How on earth is paying 15mill (but in installment) similar to paying 25mill up front? I actually think malaga would milk every bit of cash, he may well go for more than 30mill.

quit playing fantasy football, the manager sees fantastic potential in zaha and i agree, he does not look a run of the mill english winger, he’s got that continental flair and technique that can hopefully be moulded into a top player.

  62. BayoRed says:

Zaha, Smalling, Jones, Powell, Rafael, Fabio,De Gea, Welbeck, Wooton, Petrucci, Lingaard….. the future is RED. :)

  63. BayoRed says:

    Not forgetting …… BEBE :)

  64. WeAreUnited says:

    @fergie the boss

mate, you know me, so bare with me.

Firstly I want to say, so people don’t think I am ungrateful, Welcome Wlfried Zaha, a great buy, a great prospect for 10mill and add on for a 20 tear old player is amazing, he will turn good, he has everything on his game, speed, power and tricks.

    Then to the real issue.

for the pricetag, @samuel put it right that Isco would probably cost 25mill, cause Malaga will milk it.

    BUT

to say “who is has unproven as zaha” is biased and very crazy mate, and don’t get me wrong okey :) but Isco is playing champions league football day in day out, and La Liga football, tearing the likes of Real Madrid off. Scoring spectacular goals and making assists. SO to say he is as unprooven? Maybe i nthe PL of course, but come on mate, you really believe on that??
It’s like wanting to buy 2 great cars, one has been tested only in a highway and the other has been tried in the highway and on many tracks and is proven. The difference is, the other one is newer and could reach that potential later on.

But Isco unproven? quit that. Let’s not just say things for the sake of defending a great player we got.

@samuel mate, sometimes I really don’t get you, and this is not attacking you mate!
why you always use this line “quit playing fantasy football”, nobody is playing fantasy football, he just mentioned one name Isco, who is a great talent and would improve our team. I get that they play a different position, and I think @diego also should know that, but it’s not “fantasy football”.

I once proved you wrong on that but you never anwered, so I kept posting my comment many times and my dear friend @wayne was so happy on that, but I could go and dig that comment.
It’s not fantasy football mate, it’s managing football. Of course he’d cost more, but the value would pay later isels on, like it will with Zaha. RVP, Ronaldo, Kagawa, Nani, Tevez, Cantona, Rooney, Jones, Rio. And those I mentioned apart from Kagawa and RVP, were at the time when the inflation didn’t reach football. SO yes they were expensive.

Quit saying it’s fantasy football, when the ide is to strengthen your team. sometimes you spend 30mill for a young proven player outside EPL and sometimes like in the case of Zaha 10mill with adds on, a young proven player outside EPL, and sometimes 30mill for a proven old player like RVP or Berba fro mthe EPL.

    ITS NOT FANTASY FOOTBALL! peace.

  65. WeAreUnited says:

RVP, Ronaldo, Kagawa, Nani, Tevez, Cantona, Rooney, Jones, Rio and many more young and old.

I understadn that soem of these I mentioned were older than the players we are getting, but the idea was to understand that sometimes you need to spend, like I mentioned later on that same comment.

just that you don’t get me wrong and take only that part from my comment.

  66. BayoRed says:

Really enjoyed the bitterness in this article, ROLMAO :)

    http://www.thedaisycutter.co.uk/2013/01/itv-choose-figures-over-magic/

  67. BayoRed says:

And there is no mistaking that this bitter blue willl be glued to the screen praying we stummble and at the same time increasing our viewership

  68. Ash says:

I agree with We Are United. Isco is one hell of a footballer. Isco and Zaha are different players. Honestly speaking I would love us to buy more spanish Players. Isco would be a great buy for any team. If we buy Isco I would be ecstatic if not then Also I am happy with my young squad

  69. WeAreUnited says:

    @ash

exaclty, but I think @diego didn’t realise that basically Isco plays the role of Kagawa, and we have Kagawa for that. That’s why I doubt we go for him.
It would be nice, but there’s not idea to go for him unless we sell Kagawa, but that would be ABSURD and delusional and nobody would do that BAD business.

If we would want to buy a player also spanish and proven, but maybe not as much as Isco, it would be Iker Muniain, I have no words for that talent. HE is amazing. He’s proven in the La Liga but not Champions, so he’d suit more for us, because we would nurture him.

But now we got Zaha, so unless we are selling Nani or Young or Valencia (UNFORTUNATELY the most probably case is Nani) then I would buy also Muniain and splash some money. I doubt he’d come.

But as you said @ash a, cause you made a good point :
“If we buy I would be ecstatic if not then Also I am happy with my young squad”
The most important thing is to strenthen our team.

It would be crazy to think, that people wouldn’t be happy with let’s say buying Isco or Muniain, but then some were unhappy with Kagawa and RVP I bet also with Ronaldo at that time. and now with Zaha. so go figure

    peace.

  70. DreadedRed says:

In other news, South African Sports minister Fikile Mbalula reflects on their recent 2-0 win:

“We stand here as a proud and confident nation imbued by the resounding thrashing, walloping and gregarious defeat of the Angolan national football team by the astonishing warriors Bafana Bafana. Like combat-ready warriors, the team turned the misfortune of being denied goals in the warm-up matches and first game against Cape Verde into a promising festival of goals during our last game against Angola. Our team has once and for all unequivocally demonstrated that there is neither room or place for profits of doom and unpatriotic Johnny come lately in our national fibre constitution and makeup.”

  71. WeAreUnited says:

A more realated for the FACUp

just watched the line-up of City against Stoke, City plays with their first-team
Pantilimon; Zabaleta, Kompany, Lescott, Kolarov; Garcia, Barry; Milner, Tevez, Silva; Dzeko

You ask how is this related with us, well, when we play the FACup we are playing with our “second team” and make alot of changes and still play like a boss.

And Like Patrice Evra stated :

“Manchester United is the only team that can make 10 changes and still win,”
he asserted. “You might hear people call it a second team, but it’s not.
Everyone is a United player and you trust each one of your team-mates. The manager makes those changes because he trusts that we are going to win. He’s not crazy, he knows exactly what he is doing.”"

our team is deep, and just with a couple of injuries we are looking a much betetr squad than City, and the tittle is ours to lose.

  72. Bill Hick's Ghost says:

After missing out on the Ox and Bale, Fergie wasn’t going to allow that to happen again. United fans should be excited!

  73. BayoRed says:

@WeAreunited And yet they seem to get away with minimal injuries.

  74. zino says:

@DreadedRed: LOOOOOOL!! I wonder what he would have said if they had won by 8 goals…..

  75. ididnotzeeit says:

Completely Off Topic: Am I the only one who finds sadistic pleasure in watching Stoke play rugby against the bitters? I fucking hate Stoke, need kevlar shin guards when you’re playing the cunts, but, when they play our rivals it feels like I’m watching an MMA fight, you just can’t turn away.

Can’t wait for kick off! C’mon you Reds!!!!!

  76. WeAreUnited says:

    @BayoRed

yeah that’s amazing. Maybe they’re doing a Lance Armstrong? Itäs crazy how they doesn’t get their first teamers injured.

Like Mourinho said when he was going against Chelski with Inter about Cech, he said that he knows he’s injured but their staff will do miracles and he will come back.

OR it’s plain simple, our training staff and our trainings are too tough or there’s something more into it.

  77. samuel - united WE stand says:

WeAreUnited – well if every player under the sun is being mentioned as a possible signing then united would be in bankrupt, you simply cannot fill the team with every player making waves around europe, it simply isn’t a realistic proposition and in a way, fantasy football at its best. People need to realise that united also have a youth system and the need to supplement and bring players through is just as much of an aim as it is to buy players. Are isco and munain realistic? Probably not, maybe for barca, madrid e.t.c. I’m not disputing these players qualities ebut it is unlikely to happen.

Zaha has great potential but it seems some are either claiming the price is too much, he’s a championshiop player so can’t reach dizzying heights of football or underestimating zaha and saying someone is better. It just seems bizarre to me because if anyone had bought zaha, they’d be screaming “world domination” but i’ve seen enough negativity, not that i am suprised.

  78. WeAreUnited says:

    @samuel

well now you put a great argument with which I agree 90%.

If we go for every player we go bankrupt, but you know that we are not going to go after every player mentioned and we as supporters know that we have no power choosing a player as much as we want too.

And of course there are many of many so called “suppporters” that are ready to implement a whole new team, and that’s for me fantasy football! they should be let alone. BUT mentioning one player who would be great for us. You know? is not fantasy football. cause it’s a realistic and good business, but like you said Probably not, because Muniain is I bet Madrid or barca bound as for ISco I have no idea.

As for academy players, yes we have alot of them, but mainly midfielders or strikers, In my mind there isn’t any proper winger coming through the ranks, Januzaj? is he a winger? or Perreira, nobody else, so no there aren’t any wingers coming through anytime soon, that’s why we got Zaha and I would go after Muniain who is 19, not ISco cause he’s not a winger.

If you mean academy players for other positions like midfielders or AM, I also would give our academy players a chance. WIll SAF do it? yes, but at the later stage, that’s why we kinda have to look more into it for the next season, but as you mentioned not go after every player and implement a new squad HELL NO!

As for Zaha, well people are strange. I find him great This made me laugh : “they’d be screaming “world domination” but i’ve seen enough negativity, not that i am suprised.”

EXACTLY! I also doubted him at the beginning, btu saw some clips and knew that SAF saw something great on him and I changed my mind! cmon Zaha ! cmon UNITED!
