PICTURE: Zaha Hates Leeds Scum

During Crystal Palace’s 2-2 draw with Leeds United, Wilfried Zaha stuck his middle finger up at the travelling Leeds fans. They were abusing him all game but in the first half he returned their abuse with the finger and a smile.

Leeds were winning 2-1 until an 84th minute equaliser for Palace.

We like personality at OT, provided its not of the Tevez type.

On another note, people can say what they want about Ronnie, but 2 things:

    (1) Since he left he has been a world ambassador for us always speaking well of SAF and the Club and that has boosted our image, he has never said anything bad about United or SAF, all that business about him staying an extra year was settled quietly behind closed doors;

    (2) The rumours that he wants to come back and the way he behaved re the matches with RM, have done no harm to the good image of our Club and also hurt the Virus claim everyone loves being there most.

Contract Rooney, who has slated the Club and Manager before he has even left.

I know Ronnie made silly comments in the press about his future when he wanted to go, but he always said he loved the Club and respected the Manager, he was straight up about wanting to play for RM, though obviously that did not turn out as he was expecting and now he sees his first love was the true one, we the high school sweetheart, dumped for the jock with the flash car are the one he wants, I hope.

  9. FletchTHEMAN says:

Really funny stuff. But FA, driven by press, look at United lads completely differently than any other set of players. I am sure Ladyman is on his bike at this very moment looking for a charge.

Leeds?! Gods grant us a few more years before the EPL get a sniff of that lot.

    @NBI ON POINT,

Add into that the trophies he helped us gain and the award of being the best of thee world and having comed here as a 17-oldtster then develope into a megastar and giving us 3 great seasons with 2 CL finals and 1 victory from there and a transfer fee of 80mill.

That’s why I consider him as a legend. peace.

I remember Owen saying on TV(directly after the CL exit against Real) that he talked to Wayne Rooney about the whole incident about him leaving and whatnot and he said that Rooney told him he never wanted to leave United for city and it was just a money tactic… which means that he lied

Would you rather a player was honest and left ala Ronaldo
    or
    Lied and stayed?
    .
    .
    .
The good thing about Ronaldo leaving and becoming a world beater with Real is that Youngsters now want to join United in the hope of emulating that type of success using a similar trajectory that Ronaldo had. Now whether they achieve this or not is hard to guarantee but I think its a good thing and I hope that Young Zaha is joining us with that goal in mind. Meaning that he wants to join us to improve and become the best he can possibly be not just earn big money at a big club and like some of the players we’ve bought.

  16. danny says:

It’s important to remember that united will always be the glamour club…the hollywood club of english football….and if you allow me to use a world class analogy regarding the super powers….it doesnt matter if china become the worlds leading super power or india or even russia…people will always want to visit america most…holiday there most…and watch their movies and tv the most……..you see the yanks, love em or hate em, have an allure….they are marmite (remind you of anyone)…however they are and always will be box office…….even in times of down grade…everyone wants to beat em emulate em or take em on…its the same as united…..no matter if city have the arab billions………does anyone out of manchester really care??? they are the most boring club thats ever existed……can anyone ever see city having a second rival?????? in fact if we never existed would they ever have been mentioned??….btw if anyone wants to compare premier clubs to countries i would suggest that comparing liverpool to the germans 1939-45 is out of order…….comparing them to racist murderers is well out of order….the nazis would always have great european nights at home say the ITV commentaters…

  17. Dan-young says:

Good to finally see people realise ronaldo has done next to nothing wrong to united, yet has done sooo much right

He’ll be in the red of united next season. I think theres big things happening at united. With our new cheif exec coming in he was the one that was the driving force with our additional commercial revenue and he says that there are about 120 more similar possible partnerships in the future. Meaning our revenue will increase drasticaly. Aparently having cr7 in our team will play a big part in increasing the fee’s negotiated with these future partnerships. Not to mention shirt sales, on pitch success and the thought of vincent kompany shitting his pants when he has rooney, rvp and ronaldo running at him next season

A front 4 of ronaldo, rooney, zaha and rvp sounds very appealing, especially with 3 of them being in their prime

  18. King Eric says:

    Yeah fuck off Leeds scum

    Danny. Quality post. Hilarious.

  19. Dan-young says:

Danny ..i have had this arguement with so many of my united hating friends (i prefer to refer to them as ‘thrush’ cause they are irritating cunts) when you think of giants in football you think of united, real madrid, barca and bayern. Reason i bring this up is in spain barca and real share 80% of the tv revenue and the last 20% is shared between the rest of the league, yet their revenue each year is not much more then uniteds.. But that still means the rest of the world arselicks them over having a higher income then us yet they are stealing it from the other spanish teams. If united, the only giant in english football were to negotiate our own tv deals and split away from the ‘shared pot’ of £5 BILLION our income would more then double and that 5 billion pot will decrease ALOT. Everyone wants to see united, no matter what the oponents are, they dont want to see chelsea vs. Tottenham when united vs. Norwich is on for example. Im glad this dosnt happen cause it will destroy english football as we could more then afford a world 11 even with ffp. Yet, even with our generosity and sharing our tv revenue we always get slated and hated by the press and anyone that isnt a united fan.

The reason i call it our tv revenue is the simple fact that we made the premier league into what it is today, with a little help from the arsenals, chelseas, liverpools and recently the $hittys.. However it is us that has always been at the focal point and the ones to beat, and it will always be that way

The same goes for bayern except tv revenue in germany is nothing compared to england, and they actually get the respect they deserve

  20. danny says:

@ dan-young……completely agree mate…….united are the club that has turned the prem into the multi billion industry it is today………while everyone hates us we are both needed and what has made the other clubs relevant also……..which is behind my american analogy……everyone hates us yet watches us and feeds of us……….when united play billions worldwide turn on to either see us win or lose………….whatever transpires in the next decade of chelsea or city dominance they will never have what we have…what we have naturally………and what we have is the reason people watch us…and the reason they watch us is either for love or hate……but always with interest……..we will always be the JFK while city will always be the ian duncan smith……

  21. King Eric says:

Dan Young. Spot on mate. Tomorrow being a prime example. It will be United’s 40th or summat cconsecutively televised FA Cup game.

  22. olivermills6 says:

This has annoyed me as Leeds are my second team (don’t ask). People should be praising his excellent performance rather than the fact that he responded to some dickish rival fans …

  23. Daniel88 says:

A player giving the finger to opposition fans (cunts as though they may be) is not the kind of behaviour you want to be seeing from a player at Manchester United.

  24. Wee Toms Ligaments says:

Excellent start to his United career. Anyone that slates this behavior needs a rethink on what they expect from young players.

  25. Red4ever says:

Looks like the kid knws our history coz we all hate scums ,,,,,and by the way splendid artical about ronnie for all who hate him and thinks he is not a legend can read this anytime you are welcome

    http://www.redmancunian.com/2013/03/09/the-night-that-cristiano-ronaldo-came-home/

  26. WeAreUnited says:

    @Red4ever

I have tried to debate about Ronnies legend-status, but people tend to only highlight the willingness that he had for leaving, and they forgett that the great SAF, himself said that it wasn’t unloyalty, can you imagine that, SAF said it’s not disloyalty, but the fans say it was.
Some say he had maybe only 2 great season, when the fact is 3 seasons, and the earlier seasons he came as a 17-18 old young boy, imagine that!

No matter what. They say he’s fake, they say it’s only playing with words, well you know what, the lad has only spoken good and great words about the team, but no it’s cristiano, so it can’t be, he’s faking it. When let’s say a recent player that left, Berbatov says great words, then he’s not faking it, but he really loves us. Please, spare me some time.

You for example saw the great RoyKeane, who has for years and years after leaving us, only said bad words about SAF who is United, and he’s a legend, but when Ronaldo spekas, it’s false. Anyway, it’s a topic where you can agree to disagree, but usually the older generation says he’s not a legend and the younger from the ages of 20-25 say’s he’s a legend!

Some have said, that fans vote decides who’s a legend, and when you give them proof that fans have voted him as a top-5 United-legend, then the solution is not valuable, cause youngsters have voted. This contradicts in so many wways.
Ronaldo even after 20 years will be remembered, and he will be remembered as one of the great that have played for United and as a legend who helped us gain trophies and gave it all for us, but the one left maybe too early to fullfill his dream, and maybe the one who returned? anyway, I have been very repetitive witt this, but when you don’t get it, you don’t get it.

    Agree to disagree.

Hope he sort out his contract quickly so some united fan can stop talking about him…

  34. DreadedRed says:

Sir Alex disagrees with many on RoM:

“There is no issue with [Rooney's] contract. When it has to be renegotiated, it will be. He will be here next year, you’ve got my word on that. We don’t want good players to leave. He is the Gascoigne, the Bobby Charlton. He’s the best English player. He’s coming to his mature years. He’s had a lot of issues this year in terms of illness, injuries and not had a long run of games, but he’s still got me 14 goals. He’ll end up with 20 goals, no doubt about that.”

  35. FletchTHEMAN says:

Is United talking to Nike about a deal that would bring Ronaldo?

I find this the worst type of sports journalism.
    A senior writer,
    An arguably serious news source.
But NO quotes. No indication that any inside source is involved.
An actual suggestion that the entire idea of publicity would be illegal from the 2 major parties involved?

A Brit and an Aussie were starting a new shop together, they had managed to put up a number of shelves. One said to the other I bet some tourist will look in the window and want to know what were selling. Sure enough A japanese presses his nose to the window goes in and asks What you sell?Arseholes the Aussie says. The Jap said your doing very well only Two left.

  37. NBI Red Onion says:

    @ theCantona –

The reason people raise other United topics on threads is because no one really comments on previous threads unless they are on the same page and specific to that point. The most recent thread is where conversations continue, though ofcourse it is good to also comment on topic.

Also, how much can people comment on Zaha’s middle finger? There is only so much you can say along the lines of oh its good / bad that he stuck his finger at Leeds. Thread like this which are more points than actual comments always have different topics on them as they to narrow to sustain any real volume of comment in themselves.

  38. NBI Red Onion says:

Apparently Pep interested in Rooney according to the Times.

I think he could do well in Germany and it will be easier there for him as Germans all speak great English.

My personal opinion is that it will get ugly and Rooney will leave, slate the manager and the Club. It’s not just the RM game, SAF was apparently open to selling him in 2012 summer, there were reports that he was unhappy with Rooney’s attitude and commitment then. Also, as mentioned, I can’t see him taking a pay cut, and I can’t see United paying him what he is on.

SAF has already said recently that he may rotate Rooney and Kagwa in their preferred spot of the striker, will that be enough for him, maybe maybe not, but no way will United pay him the same as he is getting and Rooney is a desperate pig for money, that is what it is about for him and he will not care if he trashes United to get it and leaves.

  39. NBI Red Onion says:

Don’t forget SAF said he would not sell RM as virus before selling Ronnie, after he had already told Ronnie he could go if he did an extra year.

Remember SAF comment – if I think someone has fallen out of love with the Club I invariably move them on and help them to the door.

  40. NBI Red Onion says:

So basically no one but SAF and Gill will know the real deal but I am sure they have already decided if they will sell and in what conditions, to who, for what amount. No one else will know, not the press, no one. We will just have to see what happens.

I have no attachment to Rooney emotionally, like to Giggs, Rafael and Evra etc, so for me its a question of do we need him and is he delivering. I hope he can go on a run now that RVP is not as prolific.

  41. FletchTHEMAN says:

    NBI Onion. Cheers son.

The name Journalist suggests, impartiality, AND stories based on VERIFIED facts. Evidence of the SOURCE is a halmark of “Journalism”.
The story that got Ian Ladyman banned from United press conferences is typical. No source, no quotes. If it was labeled speculation or advertisement, it would be one thing. But the fact that Ladyman is a lifelong liverpool supporter and does little but belittle united, makes it more appropriate for an editorial. But that is not how it is labeled or sold by the Daily Mail.
Then you have the NEXT story:
Mark Odgen, A senior writer, arguably serious news source. NO quotes. No indication that any inside source is involved.
An actual suggestion that the entire idea of publicity would be illegal from the 2 major parties involved? This will then go CREATE a news story. For the next week, pundits will be asked to comment. Maybe even EX PROs ex managers, employed by news sources, will be asked to comment comment (Sky is the worst). Then the fun really begins, when managers are asked to comment on the comments of the ex-pros and managers, as if they ever the story themselves. All created from what. NOTHING!

This morning there is a very humble (I think) appraisal of the pathetic state of the “ART” of sports journalism. From no other than Daniel Taylor (one of Fergies Banned legion)

Taylor gives frank inside look at the difficulties facing serious sports journalism.

Surprisingly, pointing out that the Ladyman story on Rooney leaving had some elements of truth and others that were likely fabricated!
Taylor: “Always a leap of logic to think it automatically meant [Rooney] would be off in the summer”

Funds could be better used, cant understand why SAF is determined – if reports are tru anyway
First monkey boy from white hart zoo and now ronaldo.
Not going to be surprised if roo is sold. Since his ambitiongate incident, this sort of thing was always on the cards. I would be interested to see what the gaffer comes up with because at the moment the teams built such that rooney is the focus.

Transfer activities aside, i hope we put in some planning and work that involves getting into the habit of keeping the ball better. Its much more involved than it sounds. You see teams picking up the skill around the continent and in the premier league – swansea come to mind as does tottenham
Dortmund is doing it well too.

  43. slim says:

Desperate for MF reinforcements that compliment carrick. Then it’ll really be sink ir swim time for clevs. Make if carrick what you will but he’s not a defensive midfielder and as such shouldnt be the one entrusted to screen the back four. Might not look like it now but huge decisions await this summer.
