To be fair, all personal issues and the rest aside, the man will go down as one of the greatest ever. I know we complain when Ronaldo gets fouled repeatedly, but this guy played every week and it was dangerous the tackles he took, and he still came out on top.
Also, I knew he was small, but 2 or 3 inches smaller than Tevez? how the fuck did he out jump Shilton? I know he used his hand, but so did Shilton!!!
I wonder will he go get a look at Old Trafford, 1984 was a long time ago…

I hope for Diego’s sake the drug testers are about today!!

  5. Oooodz says:

  7. RedDevil says:

I cant see Anderson or Possebon on those photos…
No, Im glad he came, hopefully the team will play better tomorrow because of this. Rio said that the whole team trained better because he was watching.

Mainly because Shilton was jumping forwards, not up.

  9. SteRDLK says:

    What a legend!

Never realised he was so tiny, looks like you could just put him in ya back pocket (not Ferdinand / Torres way either!)

  10. denton davey says:

The pictures confirm just how short Maradona is – TheBoyWonder is almost a full-head taller; even Carlitos is taller. What the pictures don’t show is his incredibly-compact frame – he was built like the proverbial brick shit-house (or Anderson-son-son !)

  11. Red-Manc says:

    ARGENTINA!

Maradona, he may be crazy but he was one hell of a player.

  12. Drew Vader says:

    Carrick doesn’t look that impressed!!

  13. suhayl says:

Yep its true…everybody trained better today…absolutely like kids who’d seen some divine being or some super hero.

Hope it perks carlitos up…as his confidence has been shot to pieces…with 5 mins here and 2 mins there. Lack of games, lack of confidence, lack of feeling part of the new attack, lack of playing time have all affected him soooo much. And you can tell that he is trying so hard and trying so hard to do well, to get his place back and impress. Thats he’s forgotten his natural ability and instincts. Im afraid that happens to everybody in all walks of life, if your confidence is shot. So i do hope diegos appearance perked him up.

As for the man himself. Well good players come and go…Greats you remember…the GREATEST LEGENDS…THEY LIVE WITH YOU FOREVER…

Pele Maradona Best Cryuff Zidane THE BEST EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. suhayl says:

and yes michael..why are you upset..maybe he wanted to be next to diego

  15. North Stand,Tier 3,Back Row says:

Eh Scott, if that was Maradona meeting the ‘whole team’, I think our titles might be in danger after all, we cant even field a full team of 11!!!

  16. LTW93 says:

    No 1 = GEORGE BEST

  17. nagraj says:

Err Red Devil then would Rafael be committing the ultimate heresy by getting snapped next to the argentine master?

  18. denton davey says:

    Maradona Good,
    Pele Better,
    Georgie Best !

  19. Kings says:

Legend! All the stupid England fans moaning about the Hand of God, should blame fat Shilton for being too slow to deal with it. “He’s got Burrachaga to his left, he’s got Valdano to his left, he doesn’t need them, he doesn’t need any of them………..”. Greatest World Cup goal ever.
