PICTURES: Manchester City Manage A Sell Out?

On Tuesday, the Manchester City official website claimed that they had already sold out the weekend’s fixture against Fulham. This obviously came as a surprise, given that just 30,000 blues bothered to show up for their League Cup semi-final against Liverpool a few weeks ago, with tickets being sold for as little as a tenner on the day.

“With every home league game selling out so far this season, becoming a Blue member with ticket priority will give you that all important chance to get tickets for the remaining home games this season.”

Really?

For some reason, Manchester City’s official Twitter account claimed that the ground was full. Why do City fans always lie?

Welcome to the Etihad. Sit where you like.

I don’t even think those photos do it justice, it’s far emptier than those photos make it look! 20,000 empty seats? More than that!

The Sheik’s mum buys all the left over tickets, to make him happy.

cue: Inane blatherers pontificating wildly on thread selection.

The bitter blue bastards lie to anyone that will listen about their dominance in Manchester.
The only reason that the Sheik chose city was because Manchester United are in town.

Manchester is Red. Anyone that looks can clearly see it.

  8. smartalex says:

Ellis, a Fulham fan on the BBC says:
“Anyone fancy a repeat of Fulham’s 3-2 comeback at City in 2008 that kept them up?”

    Fuck yeah!

Manchester is RED. And that’s a fact

By the way, the general consensus from you lot is that Adam Johnson dived for City’s penalty. Replays definitely back that up too… he flicked his leg out at Chris Baird to make sure there was contact.

  11. CedarsDevil says:

Massive club, unheard of outside of Stockport…..

smartalex – Hello good friend and thanks for the new thread alert

  12. Shebangsthedrums says:

This shitty game is f**king shite. No crowd, no atmosphere, no fight from Fulham and ref gifts the bitters a pen.

  13. Costas says:

    It’s sold out.

  14. mission26 says:

It seems womankini is giving special training on diving.

  15. Moloantov says:

    Bitters,
Don’t blame it on the snow. Your $hit team always look like they’re bringing scarves and neck warmers into style. Now would be a good time to follow.

  16. smartalex says:

CedarsDevil – It’s so sad, no one likes them, no wonder they’re blue.

  17. Costas says:

Just out of curiosity, did Mankini wave an imaginary yellow card when Johnson dived?

  18. RedScot says:

Mike Dean, should abandon the match, now.
    Too much snow falling.

  19. Moloantov says:

Make sure dean can see those lines to give away penalties!!

  20. rasheem says:

I laughed so hard i shat myself

  21. CedarsDevil says:

smartalex – They are too blue for their own good, I mean just…..

    Do the math

  22. RedScot says:

@Moloantov,Ha Ha, yeah he could call on Robbie Fowler to snuff up the lines.

  23. CedarsDevil says:

Seems that Chelsea are considering calling tomorrow’s match off. Apparently an ice cube was located 20 miles near the Bridge

  24. Moloantov says:

@RedScot.. Haha! Would be priceless mate! The spice boy sniffing the line, shaking his behind and classifying it as ‘cameroonian grass root eating’!!

  25. RedScot says:

@Cedars, ha ha, dont go there mate, How are you darling.?
    Happy B/day belated mate.
Hope you had a great one.
Anyway, i am just hoping for a result tommorow, a draw would be just tickety-boo.
As we have not won there in 10 years, I am led to believe.
    Dzeko the mongrel scores.
Do the right thing Dean, call of the match. lol

  26. dela says:

You can’t blame them, you know. It’s a Sunday and half the CIty support is in church. Oh wait…

  27. RedScot says:

lmao @ the Spice boy. class, and quality.

  28. mission26 says:

Y is the stupid ref not booking their players for the fouls?

    Good evening Reds..

Is there a competition for miss drama on the pitch? First aguero then dzeko.

  32. Doghouse says:

If Chelsea do call off the game that’s a bonus for us given our injury situation. The lads could use a rest. Chelsea will be a physically demanding game.

    Breaking news:

the Hatrick hero RVP has left a voice mail for Cedars regarding his future :P

  34. Sandeep1878 says:

Berbatov to RVP: “Come back when you’ve scored 5 against 11 men Blackburn.” (lights cigar)

  35. Sandeep1878 says:

‎”It is good to have players back because we have, in fairness to the players who have been carrying the burden of limited resources, done fantastically well. It is not going to be easy.” – Sir Alex

Even 5-8 points back still Man Utd can go on a 7 game run going into the Blue House.

How fun to follow this great club.

  46. Red Neville says:

Martin Jol in yesterdays press conference – “We just need to get this game out of the way”.

What a great attitude. Why didn’t they just agree to not play the game and just give City the three points?

This is probably why Mankini said he expected the Everton game to be “easier”, he thought Everton were just going to bend over for them like most other teams.

  47. iced earth says:

    hello lads

real 10 points clear of barca do you belive it?barca have just started
    is our game reported?

  48. Fibes says:

    Redrants = vile bollocks.

I may not love the Glazers but we have easily the best squad in the league. Throw the injuries we’ve had at any other team – Shitty included – and see if they find themselves vying for top spot.

To say the club is disintegrating, either in the short/medium or long term, is a gross distortion.

  49. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

    Willie

Just read redrants, and although quite militant there is certainly truth in whay he says. I love Fergie at 31 he is all I have ever really known…at my age that is crazy but the club our masking our financial constraints with Fergies success.

  50. Costas says:

    @willie

Thanks for the link. Interesting read. I’ll keep it around and in 3-5 years’ time read it again. Just to check how prophetic he was (or wasn’t).

  51. Red Nation says:

    Redrants is pure semen.
I have my fair share of complaints but this knob is a waste of time.
He boasts of foresight, lets see if he see’s my cyber fist coming out the screen at him.

Aguero,Dzeko,Silva chose Titty over us…WHEN? We was never interested because we’re broke not because Old Tafford doesn’t have it old seductive apeal
    .
This guy speaks utter crap and should not affiliate himself with MUFC

  52. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

I wouldn’t be so quick to dismiss red rants its an opinion shared by a large number of reds. If you read red issue you will know exactly their views on The Glazers and Fergie.

I personally disagree with most he says we have lost our passion for excellence unlike barca, Madrid, Munich, and city? Funny how only barca cam boast recent success richer than ours.

On transfers and wages though like it or not he is fucking spot on. We paid 30 million for players like Roo and Rio years so with inflation players like Silva at 24 mil are a snip.

  53. King Eric says:

Fuck me. What a joke of a fucking club. Brett1985 it seems you may have a point when we you said Baird is a heavy smoker and that’s why Berba skinned him two seasons back! What a fucking liability. Concedes a pen and scores an own goal. Dodgy pen like. Johnson extended his right leg about three feet to ensure he got caught. Turned the game over after that. What a bunch of fucking clowns the divs are. Not only do they carry inflatable bananas but one goon was actually dressed as one. Why?

What a shithouse small time club. Like Scott says why do they always lie? Fulham are atrocious on the road. Why do some teams give City too much respect? As Everton showed get in their faces and you can get a win. Anyway shouldn’t be relying on other sides. Just need to get a win tomorrow. In fact a draw wouldn’t be end of world.

Pep showing a bit of a lack of respect for Sociadad by resting half the team aside from the lab rat Messi. Oh fuck off Minto you aids victim. A young lad scuffs a shot and scores and Minto lauding him as a genius. Get a fucking square meal inside you Scott you thin ill looking
    greasy haired prick.

  54. Costas says:

More than money or expensive signings, what we are missing the most today is the passion in our play. Not talking about Kevin Davies like passion either. Don’t know. The team seems to laid back on most occasions nowdays. Just look at our game against Chelsea in 05. The one we won with Fletcher’s header. United on that day looked like going to war. No Roy Keane in the side by the way.

  55. Strik3rr says:

they announced sellout on the PA during the game too, but at the same time you cant expect british people to know how to travel in snow, bet half the crowd was late. as a canadian im aware of this, and while under normal circumstances any slam on city is a good one, this one lacks basic common sense, each picture is early game and clearly depicts a bunch of snow around

  56. Costas says:

    @KIng Eric

Funny, but I also remember Brett’s assesment of Baird after that game! But it didn’t come as a shock to me today. Baird was also quite useless against us earlier in the season.

  57. WillieRedNut says:

Giggs12 – This grog fella ain’t militant mate. He’s a glorified wum. Before people accuse Fergie of getting into bed with the Glazers, wait for the whole story to emerge. That will be after he’s long gone from United. Redrants is a blog I read on occasions. Never post anything, but on here. If they’re longing for someone like him to part of their blog, I’m happy I don’t post on it. Most of the other lads seem a reasonable bunch. A few of them posted on the RoM for a while. Nothing against the Redrants. I do hope other posters keep this guy in check. love to see him on here! That would be interesting…

  58. dannysoya says:

WTF. what kind of article is that? Is that really a united fan writing that? Oh deary me.

  59. AlphaRS says:

    @WillieRedNut
Are you referring to Grognard off Red Rants?
Grognard is a cnut of the highest order bar none. He is a keyboard warrior who can not take anybody having a an opinion different to his own. This is the man who thought United sign Hunterlaar a few years ago.
He is the single reason I found my way on to this forum because I could stand that cnut no longer.

  60. FletchTHEMAN says:

On topic: Just uncanny how those Blue shirts look like empty seats. Never understood the motivation for wearing a seat myself. But then I don’t get the Posnan either. Call me old fashioned!?

  61. Jim says:

well they’re here, they’re there they’re every fuckin where, EMPTY SEATS, EMPTY SEATS

  62. King Eric says:

To be honest stopped buying red issue months back. Too much bile for ME peronally in there. Can’t beat the g stand grumbler though.

  63. WillieRedNut says:

Alpha – Yeah mate. He strikes me as someone who loves the sound of his own voice. It’s surprising he can debate any issue with another poster, while looking in the mirror. Vain as fuck!

  64. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

    Willie

Agree on Fergie mate but like I say there is truth on salaries and transfers just not in the manner the article put it.

    King Eric

I’m torn on Red Issue mate Im not a fan of their stance on Fergie but love the rest

  65. King Eric says:

Only been on redrants a couple of times and that grognard is a fucking idiot. The most bile spewing cunt I have heard. I still buy UWS but as I say got a bit tired of red issue personally.

Costas. Ha. Do you remember that smoking thing too! Nice one.

Oh dear Busquets getting stretchered off. Karma bitch you fucking pinheaded ponce.

  66. dannysoya says:

I mean i just do not understand some fans. So because we are not buying supposed “superstar players” it means that we are in a decline? Sometimes you have to put yourself in Fergie’s shoes. It is not like we are 18th in the table. We are TIED FIRST with all those Injuries. If we have our full team we have one of the best starting lineups on this planet. How many teams do you know that are stuck with the dilemma of trying to fit Nani valencia and young in one team? Three of the VERY BEST wide players on this planet. Our fourth choice striker has 7 goals if i am not mistaken this year. You have THE best Central defender on the planet and you have some SERIOUS depth at the position. You cannot choose between two really good goalkeepers and you have one more coming through the ranks who looks like he could be a real talent. And you are not happy with that? Instead we have to be like Bayern or city or madrid or barcelona or whatever fucking club is out there. We are Manchester United. WE DO NOT copy anyone. We never have and we NEVER WILL. the day we start trying to be who we aren’t is the day i stop watching football. Oh we play “functional uninspiring football” for the 1 millionth time THERE IS NO ONE WAY TO PLAY FOOTBALL. clubs have styles of play that are vastly differ from each other. Why on earth must we play like barcelona to be classified as an “attractive team” The arsenal team that supposedly play “beautiful” football. I am sure they would LOVE to be in our position right now rather than struggle to get to fourth place. We must put things into perspective and be realistic. The reason why United is where we are today is because we have stuck to our guns. We do not try to be someone else. We establish OUR OWN identity. Horrendous article by grog whatever his name is. Highly disappointed that someone who supports united would write that.

  67. King Eric says:

Giggs. Yeah I know what you mean pal. Don’t like their stance on Fergie.

Is that Grognard Canadian or summat?

  68. Costas says:

    @King Eric

Haha. You just reminded me of that. The funny thing is that time proved all of us right. Berbatov proved his worth ever since and Baird proved his crappiness. ;)

  69. King Eric says:

Becks cringing on Jonathon Woss show. Not surprised. Its time that idiotic cockney acted his fucking age. Woss not Becks. Used to like him but got tiresome years ago. Act yur fucking age Jon and not like you are stull a teenager.

  70. WillieRedNut says:

Giggs12 – We’ve still been competitive mate. No one likes the club in debt. Think back to the PLC days? People still moaned. I do laugh at a section of United’s support. Complaining now is one thing. When the great man goes, and maybe United stop winning trophies on a regular basis, they will have something to moan about. I look forward to debt free United. Will the people complaining, have the same outlook on a few barren seasons?

  71. Jigpigian says:

Shearers a cunt he said the defender left his leg in so the ref had no choice but to give the penalty …. When the defender CLEARLY moves his leg out of the fucking way …. What’s the fucking matter with these pundits…!

  72. oxfordtom says:

The official attendance was reported as 46963 from a capacity of 47805.

  73. AlphaRS says:

    @WilleRedNut
Ha. The guy is a proper moron and now he’s writing articles on there…!
Unless United are consistently uncompetitive in the league and cup competitions over a few seasons he has no substance to his article.
Yes SAF has made a few questionable decisions in his United career United have been there or there abouts for almost 20 years. That is an achievement in itself.
Although I wouldn’t have minded if SAF signed Aguero and Silva nothing beats seeing a player develop The United Way. The guy is a fcukin plastic fan. Pisses me off because other United fans start spouting his shite as well.

  74. AlphaRS says:

    @King Eric
Biscuits is a fcukin greasy peek a boo cnut.

  75. seanmthered says:

Games gonna be called off tomorrow I can just tell, typical they’re there for the taking and we aren’t gonna be able to take advantage. I need my weekly fill of United haha, here’s to hoping it eases up tonight really can’t see it happening though. UNITED

  76. mattbw7 says:

Never mind the bitters for we know the truth about their loyal support, what about the loudest fans in the land, fucking Stokies with a half empty stadium, got dicked by the mackems.

  77. keano99 says:

  78. Red Nation says:

Sam Allardyce – The Next Manager of Manchester Utd…you heard it from this young fool first. ;)

  79. smartalex says:

    WillieRedNut

Your link took me to a clear winner of the journalistic equivalent of the Razzie Awards.
It is quite possible the most pathetic article ever written.

It says a lot about the author, his acrimony with the site, and not much else.
Whatever his views are they were so well hidden in tripe, I couldn’t find them.

Lot of smoke, mirrors, bluster and fluster; that’s usually symptomatic of a view thin on value.

Did he actually have any views that didn’t involve himself?

  80. WillieRedNut says:

No way the game gets called off again! I will suspect skull duggery!

  81. mattbw7 says:

Why are people saying the game is off now, nothing will happen till there’s a pitch inspection 1st thing.

  82. WillieRedNut says:

It won’t be the pitch anyway. Surrounding areas like last time.

  83. smartalex says:

    Gary Neville says:

When I look at how the Manchester United team I was part of for 18 years are run, it comes down to two men: David Gill, the chief executive, and Sir Alex Ferguson, the manager. When the pressure comes, these two men know how to react. There is a strict disciplinary code and if a problem arises, it’s dealt with quickly. There might be a board of directors to support David Gill and Sir Alex but these two individuals provide the lead on team matters. If there is a problem, either a player leaves or it is dealt with in-house. In public, the club will speak up for a player and protect him even if, in private, words have been spoken.

And the reason why it works is because Sir Alex Ferguson trusts David Gill, David Gill trusts Sir Alex Ferguson and the players know where they stand. That is the model for success.

When you look at England, you see quite the opposite. You have 14 members of the board running the FA and then there is a four-man Club England board, led by the FA chairman, David Bernstein. In addition, there are 114 councillors, who all have a say in how the FA are run. And finally there is the England manager, who is paid £6million a year.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2096543/Gary-Neville-Team-England-You-joking.html#ixzz1lSiS6UC2

  84. Costas says:

If the surrounding areas are in the same condition they were last year and the game gets called off again, it will be a travesty.

  85. WillieRedNut says:

If Fulham can come up to Manchester and play, I don’t see why we can’t go to London and fucking play!

smartalex – Tripe, and lots of it! I kept expecting someone like Jeremy Beadle to jump out and surprise me, when reading that article.

  86. NotoriousRedDevil says:

For fucks sake England, back less than a day and snow everywhere. I hope the game isn’t called off certainly will throw a spanner in the works for me getting around.

@willierednut – Read the article theres a lot of this guy writing nothing but self praising conjecture. I do agree with the whole glazer thing and penny pinching. Whilst I am sympathetic of us having this injury curse, you can make no excuses about the CL exit. For me that wasn’t down to injuries that was down to our team being both inept and disrespectful towards the teams we were playing. Same theory vs Palace in the League Cup.

With regards to the FA Cup exit our squad was threadbare that day but in all honesty you’re never going to win at analfield by having 2 shots on target all game,

  87. smartalex says:

WillieRedNut – Jeremiah the Prophet could’ve chimed in, and I’d not have noticed.
I’d be surprised to hear that his mother stayed awake during his birth. Boring!

  88. WillieRedNut says:

NRD – I think he uses the Glazer issue for his own end. You pointed that out in your post. No United fan is doing cartwheels with our current financial situation. It is what it is though. As for the FA cup? It Liverpool away ffs. You can lose there anytime. We were crippled with injuries. Put up a reasonable performance imo. The CL was a disaster. No hiding from that mate.

  89. Clint-iamyourpapii says:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2095968/Alex-Ferguson-reveals-his-real-age-is-19.html

Manchester United manger Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed to THE DAILY MAIL, he has found the fountain of youth amd exclusively drank from her. As a result, the Red Devils manager for 25 years has aged backwards to the age of 19 . Sources at Carrington believe that Wayne Rooney recommended the source of youth to the aging coach.

When Twitter followers asked Wayne Rooney if this was true, he Tweeted back
    “I love Grannies #♥WrinkleyAss”.

It is not yet known whether this substance of consumption adheres to the laws of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.However a spokesman for the Attorney General’s office said: “I can confirm the Tweets have been brought to our attention and have been viewed. woah, i really don’t know what to say about this, after all that we’ve been going against at the Suarez vs Evra case and what happened at Anfield during the FA Cup tie, this happens at our home ground.. really disappointed to be honest /:

  92. King Eric says:

Clint you fucking nutter! Ha. Where you been? Saw that manutd.com and assumed it was officially off tomorrow. Until I saw smartalexs retort. Would have been gutted if game off.

As for groggy or whatever the cunts name is I won’t even open that link Willie mate as I know what he is about and it will just wind me up. Fuck me. In old days nobody gave a fuck about balance sheets etc. It was just the on pitch matters. For me its still that. I aint burying my head in sand but United are worth a fucking fortune so it doesn’t unduly concern me. I may sound ignorant but that’s how I feel. Its all about the on field stuff for me.

  93. NotoriousRedDevil says:

@ willierednut – We did play well vs the vermin with what we had. If theres any criticism from me I think we need to pull the trigger in front of goal a bit more we play one pass too many at times. I think the only shots we had on goal against stoke were the penalties but watching that game we should have had 3 more penalties and we dominated from the offset.

I’m not worried yet though I’m looking forward to Young and Nani returning. I’m sure we’ll be more prolific once they come back.

  94. JC says:

Cough.. Bullshit… Cough – they announced 47,000+ something during the match and even the announcers were like uh well maybe they already left and I heard an underbreath that would be at least 20k that left early. It was easy to see watching the match that at least 1 in 5 or so seats was an empty blue seat back especially in the conspicuous expensive front lower tier sections facing the damn camera. Tell us another one, I didnt just fall off the turnip wagon.

  95. United.George says:

Hoping the match is not called off due to the snow……any news on the weather conditions?

  97. CedarsDevil says:

    Morning all

I know this news has already been circulated here but I just read on manutd.com that Rooney, Young, Nani and wee Thomas are all in the squad for today’s game. Brilliant news

Out of the four the one certain starter for me is Rooney, Park might just get the nod ahead of Nani and I doubt that the boss will rush wee Thomas and Young back so soon…..

Anyway, trying to guess a first 11 was never the easiest of tasks under Fergie!

    Come ON UNITED

  98. ricky says:

    match called off!

  99. Costas says:

If it’s true, then I think the game is in jeopardy. Once again, I doubt Chelsea FC will be in any hurry to make sure the game takes place. A game at a later date means they’ll have Terry, Cole and Drogba available.

Its only 8:45 in the UK, a match has never been called off so early before kick off unless the conditions are extremely severe and having read a few weather reports they do not seem to be.

    Game ON

  101. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

Weather is ok today can’t see it being called off. I would be very surprised if it was.

  102. Costas says:

    Ramires as well.

Fergie was quite right that this ground has been cursed for us in some ways:

    - 04-05: We lost 1-0 but were the better side even though we were missing 8 players (Rooney, Ronaldo, Ruud, Rio, Brown, Heinze among them)

    - 06-07: Even though it was fun to see the CLLC form a guard of honour for Dong and Kieran Lee, we would have won the game if the ref gave a stonewall penalty on Eagles.

    - 07-08: Not a good performance, but they needed a debatable penalty to beat us. Drogba didn’t get sent off for injuring Vidic when his knee caught him in the face.

    - 08-09: We were 1-0 up with Park’s goal and looked comfortable. And then Edwin gets injured at half time. PIG didn’t do well with a long Chelsea free kick and they were level in the 80th minute. We would have been the first team to win at the Bridge in 5 years. Argh!

    - 09-10: Atksinson strikes, part 1.

    - 10-11: The game originally gets called off when they were there for the taking and then Atksinson strikes, part 2.

  103. CedarsDevil says:

Whilst it seems to be cold as fuck, there is no snow forecast for today. Best person to give us an update with the weather conditions down south would be the Earl of Sandwich. Come on James, how does it look like for today?

Cedars – Derby v Forest been called off just for safety concerns so it’s never too early

  105. CedarsDevil says:

At the end of the day who has the final say on this, is it the FA? The police? Both?

    booandman

That match kicks off at noon so I can see the reasoning. Our match is 4 hours later so if the weather is stable then it should go through. Either way I do not expect anything official till about lunch time

When a fan asked Manchester United Star and erstwhile Sky News football pundit Gary Neville on Twitter for recommendations on what to do in Malta while on holiday with his girlfriend this Easter, the frequent visitor to Malta had some sound advice:

  114. smartalex says:

Sir Alex Ferguson has claimed David de Gea is under more scrutiny purely because he is a Manchester United player. De Gea is set to return for Sunday’s Premier League trip to Chelsea, just eight days after his performance in the FA Cup defeat to Liverpool was heavily criticised. It is not the first time the £18million summer signing from Atletico Madrid has been in the firing line, with De Gea’s slender frame being cited as the major reason for his inability to command the penalty area. However, Ferguson does not think the problem would have commanded such attention had the 21-year-old been plying his trade elsewhere. “When you make a mistake at United, it is highlighted and can be exaggerated a little bit,” said the Reds chief. “They are mistakes and he wants to address it himself. He will do through maturity and the understanding of the English game. “It is harder when you are replacing Edwin van der Sar and Peter Schmeichel. They are probably two of the greatest goalkeepers in European football over the last 40 years. “That is not easy. I found it difficult to replace them. That’s why we went for a young replacement, who would develop and mature into the position because the potential is there. “The boy has got a great talent. He has made two or three mistakes but in two or three years’ time we won’t be discussing that at all because he will have matured. Then he will be realising his potential.” United are looking for their first league success at Stamford Bridge since 2002. They will do so with a fresher looking squad, including Ashley Young, who has missed eight matches with a knee injury, and Tom Cleverley, who has featured only twice since the beginning of September due to foot and ankle problems. “There is no doubt freshness will help,” said Ferguson. “When Ashley got his injury at Fulham it was just at a point when his game was starting to shade a little bit. “His early form was fantastic and we were really pleased with him but there were just a couple of games when it looked as if we were ready to give him a break. “It turned out to be an enforced one but he is fresh now and his training performances the last two weeks have been really good.” It is a measure of the impact Cleverley made that Ferguson has so often lamented the youngster’s absence despite the fact he has only made five Premier League appearances for United. “Cleverley is an excellent young talent,” said the Reds boss, who did admit the 22-year-old is more likely to figure in Monday afternoon’s reserveiteam game with Chelsea. “He does our chances a lot of good because we have been carrying the burden with limited resources.

    This one’s from MEN.

Good day my good friend! Happy match day!

It would be easy to feel some sense of accomplishment on my part with regard to the imitator.

The truth however, is that his enmity and vengefulness is with RoM.
He does me negligible damage, but RoM takes a big hit.

In this case, the collateral damaged is actually the target. He uses me as a focus, for I never shy away from confronting those who attack United. This enables his rallying cries to gather momentum as discredited ABU and wum find a group to cling to.

He is obviously someone who has a big axe to grind with StR.

Our best response is to continue as we have been. Outing him while keeping RoM great.
Our lives revolve around United, and today we play Chelsea!

    Come on United!

    Hollow hollow hollow
    Chelseas fucking success is hollow
With all the money they took
    From that big Russian crook
And they’ll never win three in a row

  171. Ash says:

It will be a very important game for de gea. He does not deserve to warrant this much criticism but today he has a big chance to prove everyone that he is the future in the post for Man united. With Lindegaard out for 1 month de gea can cement his place.

I am a huge fan of anders lindegaard but de gea is the real deal for me. But maybe this is the first time that we may see two number 1 keeper for a club. Both have talent and are young so its great for the club

Speaking of keepers I am also impressed by Amos. He looks like a great talent and has a great command in the goal. Who knows it may be amos who may be our number 1 keeper in 3 years time.

As far today concerned all the best De gea. I have full faith in you.

  172. Costas says:

    @Giggs12

Hi mate. Not a lot that hasn’t already been mentioned.

    - Our last win over was in 2002.

    - Chelsea are also the only Premiership side that has a better record than us in our league meetings since 92: 12 United wins, 14 draws and 13 Chelsea wins. The goal aggregate is 50-50.

    - In our overall meetings, we hold the edge: 20 United wins, 20 draws and 16 Chelsea wins.

    - I believe Rooney and Scholes have scored the most goals agains them in the last 15 years. 7 each. Both could improve on that today.

    - Finally, we’ve played 22 different back fours this season. It won’t become 23 today because we’ve played every possible combination with the defenders we have available…

  173. Costas says:

By overall record I also meant since 1992.

  174. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

    Costas

That is fucking insane knowledge mate I love it. Top stats man.

  175. Costas says:

    @Giggs12

Thanks pal. I’ve been keeping track of this stuff as my hobby.

My memory betrays me at times though! It’s actually Beckham with 7 goals against Chelsea. Rooney and Scholes have 6.

  176. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

    Costas

I have an official united stats book mate its every anoraks dream. It’s by Ian Marshall its decent some facts are shite but on the whole very good figures.

  177. Ash says:

22 different back 4 combo – Thats freaking insane. :) Hope we have a fixed back 4 in next season.
The last time I remember we had a fixed back 4 was in 07-08 season where we won the double.
Then we had Brown Vidic Rio Evra

  178. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

    Ash

In that season mate Evans played 16 on the bounce when Rio wqs out.

  179. iced earth says:

  181. Clint-iamyourpapii says:

Awww Happy 27th Birthday Ronnie – Always have a place in my heart.
I miss the lad, he’s the George Best of our 2nd most sucessful Era (2006-09).

We all know SAF was extremely sad to see his Golden Boy leave, they had a great relationship, father & son, they continue to stay in contact, regularly Text each other which rather sweet.

Some of the positive aspects of having young players fufilling their potential. Ronaldo always gave 100%, never demanded a move, always remained respectful. Apart from the “Only God Knows” crap, I’d go far enough to say he was a model professional, always grateful.

Sigh*….the lad could have done so much more at United instead of wasting his best years at Madrid in the shadows of Raul + Messi.

    Tevez – Rooney -Ronaldo
    Carrick- Scholes – Hargreaves
    Evra – Vidic – Rio – Brown
    ——–Van der Sar ———

It was a great side but not a shadow of 99.

  182. Ash says:

    Giggs12gerrad0

Yeah I remember but Still that was the last time where I remember this was the most used combination. Rio played many important games and rest of 3 ( vida evra and brown) were consistently playing top class football without missing many games.

In the last few seasons we hardly had fixed back 4. I know injuries have played a huge part but it has affected us too much.
My preferred back 4 now is
    Rafael Smalling Evans Evra

I know people will question me on not picking rio but I feel Rio’s time is coming to an end . He has been a great defender for us but sadly we can’t depend on him.
I also feel SAF needs to talk to evra to lessen the errors. He has made many mistakes in last 2 years and it has cost us dearly ( Even against liverpool in the FA tie last week) .
I for one would not be surprised if fabio takes over the LB position from next season. Fabio deserves chance and can be a great player for us.

  183. iced earth says:

    Newcastle United0 – 0Aston Villa

  184. Clint-iamyourpapii says:

2nd most sucessful ? —- Ignore that Nonsense fellas…talking shit as usual

  185. Costas says:

Sadly, it’s not the first time we’ve played as many different back fours in 35 games. Same thing happened in 09-10.

    @Giggs12

Rio threw his back out in 08-09 mate. Evans and Vida formed a great partnership in his absence. But Ash is right. 07-08 was the closest we came to having a solid back 4 for an entire season after Parker-Bruce-Paillister-Irwin. And not surprisingly, it was one of our best seasons in terms of the average amount of goals conceded.

  186. Saad says:

    Costas

Do you mean “overall meetings” during the premiership era? Overall in the league, our record is 58-40 plus 41 draws. In cup competitions we own them 13-4 plus 6 draws, one Of those draws being Mr Terry’s Oscar winning tragedy – “raindrops in Moscow.”.

  187. Saad says:

SAF showed in the 07-08 season that you can move around the mifielders every week and still have an effective line-up on the pitch but he back four must stay constant for the majority of the season.

  188. King Eric says:

Alright lads. Just a quick one but didn’t “ricky“ come on here yesterday and say Cleverley was out for two months after turning ankle in training. Wum. The lunatics are taking over the asylum.

    Come on United.

  190. Paul Parker says:

haha @ King Eric that 22:08 post cracked me up mate.

@Willierednut – first time I’ve read that fellow’s stuff, but I think he’s just pandering to miserable United fans as you prob know yourself. He’s entitled to his opinion and all that but if City and Chelsea have artificially inflated the market how can Alex get slagged off for not keeping up? We shouldn’t be trying to keep up with their transfers anyway, not when we keep producing youth players, making top signings, and other clubs like Wigan and Newcastle keep scouting hitherto unknown talent for fuck all. His criticisms of the Celtic Caesar wouldn’t go down too well in a Republik!

  193. Costas says:

    @Saad

Yeah correct. Every stat I mentioned was about the Premier League era. Including the overall meetings.

  194. NotoriousRedDevil says:

Also never done the double over chelski in PL era I think the last time we did was 87/88 and the mighty chelski got relegated that season. The time before that Law, Best and Charlton all played. History tells us that the best we can probably hope for today is a draw.

I’m confident today unless the groundstaff leave our side of the pitch covered with snow so we can’t warm up properly which is a very good possibility.

Chelski causing racism since the 1960s.

Mike Phelan as the next United manager :-)
