Always liked collars, so I like the red – I also like the simplicity of it. The alt kit looks like it’ll be a hit with the kids, with the shoulder colours and lightning bolt bit. Not a fan.

The white ‘thundery’ line between dark blue and red made it look so gay. Are we superheroes now ? hahah. Nike have been making some ridiculous designs. I’d be absolutely shocked if there was a ‘Green & Gold’ strip released. Many reasons for this really, a couple include the fact that there is no key anniversary date linked to Newton Heath to actually warrant this and the other, perhaps more obvious one, that the Green & Gold campaign is a protest against the people that own our Club – the last thing they’d warrant is a new kit which demonstrates how much the fans hate them. It’d also be like the Glazer’s were sticking two fingers up at the fans, again.
As for the images themselves, the home shirt looks nice and simple, just how I like it but the ‘away’ shirt looks more like a training top, I will wait for the reason behind the American looking design but at the moment will have to wait for it to grow on me as I am not TOO keen.

As most people have said that away shirt is fucking ghastly. Not too keen on the home one either to be honest. I actually like our away shirt this season. Like Mike Tyson always looked “tougher” in all black I think the lads do. I like black kits.

3rd kit in that link is decent but I don’t believe it’s actually the third kit for a few reasons. Why does AON have a box around it only on the third kit and not on the other two?
Also having MUFC written on the arm, not only looks crap, but when you put a premier league/champions league badge over it, it would make it pointless in being there. Looks more like a training top but then I said that about the away kit.

I didn’t like the V design when it first came out but it’s definitely grown on me since. the reason it’s only lasting one season though is because it’s an “anniversary kit”. At least it is if you clutch at straws that in 1909 United wore a white shirt with a red V for an FA Cup game once. Why don’t we have a white shirt with a red V then? Well we have that goalkeeper shirt that hasn’t been worn since pre-season.
Speaking of anniversary kits, I was quite fond of both of the 2007 kits – think they could have done with two years as well. There does seem to be an anniversary kit of some sort every other year though… good way for them to change kit once a year I guess…

Away kit looks like the US National teams kit, USA USA USA USA. Maybe the United fans will learn to like the yanks better whilst wearing the same gear.
Personally I think both kits look fucking awful. cheap line down the arm, the red looks too orangey and the AON logo, its just too big and naff. The away kit looks like, (like i said) a yank kit, it looks cheap for a second rate team like a Bolton or an Everton. Its not got that theatre of dreams look about it but more like Blackpool Paladium.
As I’ve said before: fans should boycott all new kits as part of the anti-Glazer protest. Same with the other merchandising.
If sponsors aren’t getting the exposure they believe they are paying for, perhaps that will turn up the heat on our odious owners.
…And on the subject of boycotts, I think we should all avoid the pro-Chelsea Daily Mail at all costs. Did anyone else read that rubbish today?

Why are United fans arguing rather than debating?
BigPhil2003 has been here long enough for me to know he talks with sense and has balanced thought with strong conviction in what he says, so to hear another Red come and ‘man up’ is slightly disappointing – not least having a reason backed by using ‘gay’ as a derogatory term.
Thebusbyway – Pictures of official football kits are never exclusively leaked buddy, somebody somewhere has been naughty. Besides, these photos are all over the net.
As for the alleged new third kit. One big give away when it comes to deciding whether a shirt will be real, is the photo itself. The home and apparent away are real pics with real Nike tags… the blue one looks to be a dodgey computer generated one at first glance, or training top at best. There seems to be a new bloody training strip every other month at our club, or maybe they are one each for training, team talk, pre match meal, walk down the tunnel, warm up and finally substitute strips?
IMO I think that all the pics are fake.

a)We know these images are legit (Most of the leaked photos in the past for both United and every other team ends up being fake or early mockups of potential designs)
b)We see them in better shots and on the players. They can look alot different when not on a hanger or dummy

The club get VERY LITTLE from the shirt sales. Like most sports kits deals these days Nike pay a upfront fee rather than a percentage of sales

At the start of the season there were rumours of one of next seasons shirts being Green & Gold. A rumour that based on one of the papers reports a week or so into the ‘G&G protest’ that the Glazers were to cash in with a line of G&G merchandise then I think it may very well have had some basis (infact the paper itself had an ‘insider’ quote saying it was planned before the protests.)
Things like shirt designs and colours after all aren’t something that is left until the last minute so when the protests started if a G&G shirt was planned it would have already been signed off imho. I do wonder if perhaps the Away Kit here was supposed to be the 3rd Kit (As they do often sell these as a 3rd/Training Kit and it does have a training kit feel) but perhaps its been promoted while a replacement 3rd kit is thrown together due to the protests

Its a shame really that they couldn’t have come to a deal with AIG and dropped them a season sooner so they could have stayed on the 2 year cycle. These kits though will almost certainly be 2 year cycles I would imagine.

We shouldn’t boycott anything until there’s a valid and better owner in the wings. No point damaging the clubs ability to make money (Which boycotting merchandise is more likely to kill any new owner rather than the Glazers). No matter how much you hate the Glazers the clubs profits make the club financially secure and we don’t want that to change because its a long slippery slope of changing owners and debts spiralling out of control

Wakey – I think these rumours of a Green & Gold strip are just that, small talk can come from any place or person at any given time. Like I said before, there is no actual real reason as to why there would be a strip released in the colours of Newton Heath, so any word about that possibility BEFORE the Glazer campaign began wouldn’t have much substance – other than to release a shirt in those colours for the sake of it, unless it was a random tribute which is unlikely.
As for the Glazers cashing in on the colours that have become a clear link between us and them, I don’t believe that they would be silly enough to laugh in the face of the fans at such a personal level. Obviously they have to make money as businessmen and in business there are only enemies, but I just cannot see it happening.
As for what you said about the boycott, that does make perfect sense. The boycotting wouldn’t make people as stubborn as the Glazers just up and leave and I’d be suprised if a company such as Nike would pull out of any big money deal just to please The Red knights, MUST and the rest of us fans, when they are so hell bent on profit that they spent a very long period of time having their product sewn together in sweatshops.
The boycott is something which is meant to make us believe we can have an impact on them in a big way, it’s what keeps the wheels turning in this battle against them, new ways of gaining advantage and fresh ideas to take us a step closer to having some ownership over our Club – it’s this that makes me roll along with it, hopefully it won’t be long before we can all go to sleep at night knowing that our Club is in the right hands.
Couldnt give a chuff what design it is, I will not buy it…not for my son, daughter, wife or I.. (all United) not until the club is ours again …vote with your feet, its only a matter of time and we will be ready.
