Not sure why everyone keeps saying these shirts look like they are from the Nineties, as they clearly resemble Eighties shirts! I for one think united get made decent kits by Nike. Why the fuck would we want our kits made by Adidas and have us look just the Chelsea or Liverpool? Retro al the way! If it weren’t for the Glazers, I would be buying this shirt without doubt.

Wakey – I think these rumours of a Green & Gold strip are just that, small talk can come from any place or person at any given time. Like I said before, there is no actual real reason as to why there would be a strip released in the colours of Newton Heath, so any word about that possibility BEFORE the Glazer campaign began wouldn’t have much substance – other than to release a shirt in those colours for the sake of it, unless it was a random tribute which is unlikely.

As for the Glazers cashing in on the colours that have become a clear link between us and them, I don’t believe that they would be silly enough to laugh in the face of the fans at such a personal level. Obviously they have to make money as businessmen and in business there are only enemies, but I just cannot see it happening.

As for what you said about the boycott, that does make perfect sense. The boycotting wouldn’t make people as stubborn as the Glazers just up and leave and I’d be suprised if a company such as Nike would pull out of any big money deal just to please The Red knights, MUST and the rest of us fans, when they are so hell bent on profit that they spent a very long period of time having their product sewn together in sweatshops.

The boycott is something which is meant to make us believe we can have an impact on them in a big way, it’s what keeps the wheels turning in this battle against them, new ways of gaining advantage and fresh ideas to take us a step closer to having some ownership over our Club – it’s this that makes me roll along with it, hopefully it won’t be long before we can all go to sleep at night knowing that our Club is in the right hands.

Seriously man take your own advice on the chill pill. It’s odd how it’s somehow gone from me talking about the new rumoured kit being quite nice to being in an ambulance looking skyward. How the fuck did that happen??! We could all be internet hardmen and make some empty threats but most of us came here to talk about united so it’d be good if it could get back to that. Fuck sake.

We shouldn’t boycott anything until there’s a valid and better owner in the wings. No point damaging the clubs ability to make money (Which boycotting merchandise is more likely to kill any new owner rather than the Glazers). No matter how much you hate the Glazers the clubs profits make the club financially secure and we don’t want that to change because its a long slippery slope of changing owners and debts spiralling out of control

Its a shame really that they couldn’t have come to a deal with AIG and dropped them a season sooner so they could have stayed on the 2 year cycle. These kits though will almost certainly be 2 year cycles I would imagine.

At the start of the season there were rumours of one of next seasons shirts being Green & Gold. A rumour that based on one of the papers reports a week or so into the ‘G&G protest’ that the Glazers were to cash in with a line of G&G merchandise then I think it may very well have had some basis (infact the paper itself had an ‘insider’ quote saying it was planned before the protests.)

Things like shirt designs and colours after all aren’t something that is left until the last minute so when the protests started if a G&G shirt was planned it would have already been signed off imho. I do wonder if perhaps the Away Kit here was supposed to be the 3rd Kit (As they do often sell these as a 3rd/Training Kit and it does have a training kit feel) but perhaps its been promoted while a replacement 3rd kit is thrown together due to the protests
