PICTURES: United and Our Former Number 7s

cl

The pictures above were all taken from last night’s Champions League action.

Former Manchester United number 7′s, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo, went crashing out of Europe last night whilst we progress to the quarters following our 7-2 aggregate win over AC Milan, the second best team in Italy.

Ronaldo and Real Madrid were knocked out by Lyon, who are currently 4th in in the French league. The defeat will be doubly painful for them because the final will be staged at their ground, the Bernabeu.

I love these features..but i hate the size of the photos you post scott, you can hardly see the details..please post larger sizes if you can.

  2. Sayyid says:

The arrogance of that scum Perez, serves them right, thinking they can just buy the CL

Fergie should table a cheeky £35m offer for Ronaldo in the summer. He must be regretting his move to the virus

  3. Sayyid says:

Shame our current number 7 wasnt on the pitch

    Gutted for Owen

Lets hope Owen and Berbs stay fit

  4. Costas says:

It has been a rough couple of weeld for former and present United number 7s. I hope Cantona is doing ok. :D

  5. Costas says:

    *couple of weeks*

  6. cantona7 says:

seriously i dont really care how they are doing right now with their new team. Football-wise, I only care about them as long as they are our number7. But i do care about how they are doing in their life..

  7. kidmeister says:

The green and gold campaign kicked into overtime in the second half!Couldn’t believe it with all the scarfs and banners being unfurled!Thought Becks did us proud by donning the scarf at the end!Must of been an emotional night for him, sure he had tears in his eyes when he came on.Ronny must be regretting moving now!Dreaming is one thing, reality is another!I know where I’d rather be!Sunny Manchester!.Money can’t buy you everything, the spanish press must be having a field day at perez’s expense,or king juan’s!!LOL

  8. Xyth says:

Great night but it doesn’t beat 3:2 at the San Siro!!!!

  9. curtis says:

    Haha
Felt a bit for becks that his side was humiliated but i’m sure he was only gutted for the 90 minutes and after that he was as happy as us reds..
Ronaldo on the other hand i felt fuck all for, loved him as a player but what he did to us in our year of cl glory was so wrong and to me he got what he deserved.
He didn’t move to real cause it was a dream. he did cause he thought he was carrying united and did enough carrying,
He thought real maFLOP was better than us and since he’s a winner he must be regretting this big time..

Come on chelsea do the italians
and hope they get arsenal or barca

I laughed my head off when I heard to Madrid result. All of that whining and moaning about being a slave cos we wouldn’t let him walk out of the club in 2008 still gets to me.

He may have said nice things after that but hey he’s got agents and PR people to feed those lines to him. I’m not saying he doesn’t like Man Utd or the people here but certainly he’s been coached to play it up whenever he speaks to the English press for good headlines. Lets not forget brand CR7/CR9 has Nike boots to sell to kids. He cant go around saying he felt like he was forced to stay at United for the 08/09 season and didn’t want to be here even though we all know that’s the truth.

Everything about Manchester was rubbish according to Ronnie: The weather was c-p, the nightlife was c-p, the girls were c-p. He wanted to go to sunny Spain and be the star at Madrid. Like the saying goes Cris be careful what you wish for. Now you’re exactly where you wanted to be: At Madrid OUT of Europe.

I hope to God that we can win the Champions League at Real’s stadium this year it would be so sweet to do it in their ground just to remind Ronnie that the grass aint always greener on the other side!

    Ronaldo whoooooah Ronaldo whooooooooah
Went on his merry way, I bet he wished he’d stayed! :P

  11. Gee says:

    @ Sayyid

Owens out for the season mate.

Did you see Ronnie as he sloped of the pitch for the virus last night, he was broken!! I wonder what went through his head when he saw our result. lol I bet he starts saying how its his dream to play for Utd again constantly now. Also the classless fans of the virus booing Kaka as he came off, Ronnie and Kaka will soon be wanting out lol!! brilliant!!

  12. MrPlatinum says:

HArgreaves not back tonight. Hope I’m wrong but it feels like his head has gone :(

    We won 7-2

We scored 7 goals of 2 legs

2 former no 7s crashed out

    Ironic! :)

  14. Cullo says:

what a night of football last night, united thrash milan rooney scores two gems, becks comes on and starts crying, then they boo him and den they boo fletch for creamin him, den he wears the green and gold scarf and to top things off the scum from madrid who spent 260million get knocked out in the second round. Imagine how ronaldo felt when he saw the united score!! the grass isnt always greener on the other side!!

  15. RED SAM says:

i think hargo is destined never to return for us hope am wrong though.

  16. McQueen says:

Real getting knocked out is fucking hilarious! Just priceless. I can only imagine the atmosphere in their dressing room after the game. Bet Ronaldo was having a fucking hissy fit! Higuain will probably be found dead with Ronny’s fingerprints all round his neck.

Seriously, just imagine it was us being knocked out so early like that, to a late goal, at home, by France’s fourth best team this season, with the final being at OT. Gutting!

  17. RED SAM says:

    mcqueen

“just imagine it was us being knocked out so early like that, to a late goal, at home, by France’s fourth best team this season, with the final being at OT. Gutting!”

hahaha i can’t imagine the reactions here at RoM the following morning :)

  18. aig alex is god says:

Disappointing few weeks for the 2 number 7s in the picture. However their legendary status at the club is all that matters to me. I will always continue to love both of them for their contribution to United’s success

  19. AlphaRS says:

I don’t know whether this is the right thing to say but am I the only one who is feeling a tiny bit of satisfaction that our former number 7′s who left us for “bigger and better” things have failed so abysmally this season?
I think Ronne will grow to realise as I believe Beckham already has that they left the greatest team on the planet to join the fascists. Beckham won just 1 league title since leaving United. Hopefully Ronnie win’s just as much too. Sound’s bad doesn’t it?!

  20. Costas says:

    @AlphaRS

In fairness I think Becks felt the rude awakening years ago. Once he saw what Real Madrid were really about. Not to mention the “relegation” of playing in the US. Nothing against it, but it’s a step down compared to where Beckham was.

In Ronaldo’s case, the going is just starting to get tough. He is just realising the difference. But in the end, all that matters to these players is their bank accounts, so I am sure that they can’t complain about that. But they are probably feeling regretfull.

  21. AlphaRS says:

    @Costas
The grass always seems greener on the other side…?
You know what would make me laugh?
United playing the Champions League Final in The Fascists backyard.
The camera does a close up of Rooney as he looks up at Ronaldo in the stand and gives him a cheeky wink! Hehehe!
    Now that would be class!

  22. AlphaRS says:

    @Costas
Oh and expect The Fascists to put a bid in for Rooney before and after the world cup….

  23. Costas says:

    @AlphaRS

Yeah I was just thinking about that. They will definitely try to lure him in despite the fantastic season that Benzema has had.

    Oh wait….

That’s a pretty cool scenario for the final. Also, a United-Barca final would be a nightmare for Real fans. It will be their hated rivals against a team that was supposed to be weaker than them after Ronaldo made his move.

  24. willierednut says:

Im happy Madrid are out and for Ronny, maybe it’ll bring him down to earth for a while.

  25. curtis says:

    Haha AlphaRS
I love the thought of that :-) It would be class indeed

And yes the Fascists will be putting in a new world record bid for rooney if he wins player of the year. But Rooney will tell them to go f**k themselves, that I’m sure of

  26. Xyth says:

I only hope Barcelona clinch La Liga tile again. This would make fascist’s season perfect.

  27. AlphaRS says:

    @Costas @curtis
I haven’t really been following the fascists.
I bet they will offer Benzema in exchange. Ronnie has already hinted he wants to play along side Rooney again. The only chance of that happening son is by you coming back to Old Trafford!
I really hope that Rooney will not have his head turned by the lure of the fascists. But with some of the things he has said to the media I think it is unlikely he would move.
I don’t understand this whole Galacticos thing. The fascists consistantly spend large amounts of money on the best players in the world but fail to play as a team. Have they not learnt their lesson?! The consistantly make brilliant players win nothing at all.
I just don’t get why anyone wants to go there other than the money?!

  28. cantona7 says:

@AlphraRS in my opinion, there is only one thing that can make Rooney consider Real option: God forbid, United goes bankrupt.

That is why we need to chase Glazer out!

  29. xol says:

United v Barca final sounds very nice. The fascists would be forced to root for us and Barca forced to face the backlash from last year.

  30. Costas says:

    @AlphaRS

The problem for Real is that they have no basis to lure Rooney. He is at his dream club right now(see Ronaldo), he keeps his lifestyle in check(see Becks), he will never ask to move to the dippers(see idiot aka Heinze) and his wife is happy here(see Vidic?). So all that’s left for us is to bump his wages and offer a contract extension. I am sure he will bite Gill’s hands off. I get the feeling that he wants to get as close to Giggsy’s appearances and Charlton’s goals as much as possible.

Real need someone like Del Bosque who kept all the Galacticos happy. Pellegrini(as well as Quieroz in 03-04) tried to use tactics and discipline with this team, but it’s never going to happen. They just need someone to allow them to play freely. Like a circus. :D Also, they still don’t have a defender like Hierro was. They bought Kaka, Benzema and Ronnie and at the back they have Pepe. They did miss Alonso last night. He makes them tick.

  31. brett1985 says:

Wouldn’t mind a cheeky bid for Ronaldo this summer.

  32. Berbatovs' love life says:

This may be worth thinking about….

Now that Madrid are out there will be more pressure on them to purchase a big name striker (again) in the summer. I think the safe money would be on David Villa…

That move will make Benzema all the more expendable in Madrid and how sweet would it be to buy Benzema for 20 mil this summer, 10 million less than what we offered last year, still all the talent in the world, but now humbled with a point to prove!

just a thought, but the lad is still young and would shine in Red!

  33. K-TR7 says:

I’m an arsenal fan but you guys are impressive!continental sides can’t handle the tempo of the epl teams which is the best league in the world despite no ‘stars’.i think it is all setting up for rooney to be crowned world’s best player at ron’s new home.if chavs go through platini will choke..

  34. Fred says:

    Ronaldo & Beckham = LEGENDS

  35. Bealsy says:

I did have to have a little giggle at the look on Ronnies face last night at the full time whistle, had a very “what the fuck have I done?” look on him

  36. Manchuchu says:

    Forget Benzema we got Diouf.

*trying to keep a straight face*

  37. Bealsy says:

Diouf? Looks promising, but everybody told us Manucho was the next Drogba lol.

  38. Fred says:

K-TR7, thankyou for those kind words. What a dream come true that would be. I would even fancy us against Barca now. As Fergie said, with this team we fear no-one!

  39. willierednut says:

    Ronaldo – Drama queen.

  40. Fred says:

    willierednut – ingrate

  41. willierednut says:

    Fred – Asswipe

  42. Fred says:

    Aw, diddums. :-D

  43. wayne says:

i’m so happy those arrogant bastards got bumped by a team who was given no chance to beat them.”biggest club in the world” lets try “biggest laughing stock in the world” how about “biggest losers in the world” “biggest bunch of cunts in the world”.
utd looked great and it was nice to see becks get a decent farewell but those arrogant cocksuckers getting bumped has left me giddy

  44. K-TR7 says:

A final of you against barca would cause riots in madrid!

  45. RedDeviled Egg says:

Great quote in the El Pais paper in Madrid today

El Pais’s headline read: “Football has no price.”

“Lyon question the realism of the mega-project of Florentino Perez and Madrid. Titles are not bought, they are won.”

  46. Fred says:

Yep, whoever won it would be a slap in the face for Fail Madrid. :-D

  47. K-TR7 says:

A final of you against barca would cause riots in madrid!i would not like to meet you until AW has known how to play against you and the chavs though a final between a fully fit arsenal and utd would not be short of drama,AW VS SAF!platini would probably call off the final.

  48. Fred says:

“Lyon question the realism of the mega-project of Florentino Perez and Madrid. Titles are not bought, they are won.”

When you put it like that, I guess we’re quite lucky our owners don’t give Fergie any money to spend. :-D

  49. TheRadLegion says:

On a personal level I think it was right for CR to leave United, but let’s all laugh at Real Madrid :)

  50. K-TR7 says:

Platini hates AW because his dad approved wenger more than his dad.platini hates the epl but the fact is its the best league!i would love us to win the ECL but if we don’t you have a chance since barca are crap;rio&vidic would have ibra for breakfast.all other teams you can handle.i got the feeling barca had taken the shine off your european pedigree in last years final but by beating milan you got it back;it was a psychological victory.wayne also deserves it ,platini and blatter will look like mugs if they deny wayne the WPY.Real may have won nine titles, but five were won when the tournament had four/eight teams, they are great but i think you guys, milan, munich and pool have been more consistent.

  51. Duudelove says:

@ Real Madrid: this is how it feels to be city, this is it feels to be small…

    Are you city in disguise?

  52. kidmeister says:

I pity Benzema this morning,he definitely made the right move to real madrid!NOT!!All their players chasing the money!Hope they’re all gutted today at being exposed as mediocre players!I agree we should make a £30mill offer to get Ronny back, give them O’Shea too since Barca were after him.

  53. King Eric says:

kidmeister – Fuck that mate O’Shea is key to United.

  54. krex says:

I think United should bid for benzema !! owen is no longer a force!! who knows , another french legend in the making!!! one was thrown out of leeds, and he made manchester his home and became THE KING!!! This one will be thrown to us from madrid!!!! who knows???? madrid are desparate !!

  55. King Eric says:

krex – Owen has had a damn site better impact at United than that greedy cunt has at the Fascists! Fuck him, turned us down once already. He ain’t no legend in the making but just a billy big balls who thinks he is much better than he actually is. A true United legend in the making would have joined us in the summer .

  56. warwick says:

    Ronaldo who?!?

  57. fucktheglazers says:

still think your at the best club in the world ron? dream on, we were fantastic last night!

  58. Gandalf says:

Ok, I watched the madrid – lyon highlights and after Ronaldo scored, Kaka is congratulating him, but Ronaldo never hugs him or even looks at him, keeps his hands totally away from kaka – anyone would think he doesn’t like kaka.
Now, we all know Ronaldo is full of himself, but still – his ego seems to have inflated. Or may be he just doesn’t like the setup at madrid after being with United. Miss us much Ronnie?
