In May, The Republik of Mancunia revealed pictures of potential away kits for the 08/09 season.
It has today been announced that one of those shirts which had been leaked will officially be our away kit next season, as we defend our English and European titles.
I can only imagine what comments are going to be made in reference to America and the Glazers upon seeing our red, white and blue away shirt…
It’s been a while since I’ve liked an away shirt as much as the black kit we’ve had this season, so I’m rather disappointed to see it replaced with this.

I actually like them. It’s just a little unusual to see United in that colour-combination, but I think you’ll get used to it after a few games.
Where the hell does the blue come from? As far as I can recall our colors are red, white and black.
I kinda like the shirt, but hate the colors. Replace the blue stripes and the blue shorts with black and it would have been a really cool jersey.
With the blue in there we look like Chelsea in disguise! Disgusting!

I like it for the only reason that it reminds me of the russian flag and colours and of course of Moscow last May. On the other hand “White” reminds me of traitors. So I prefer black.
I actually really like our all white 06/07 away strip. The black one was nice too.
This one is new and once we get used to it I don’t think those blue shorts will look as Ugly.
We’ll probably still play in the black strip on occassions so it won’t be all bad.

Did you watch the video of the photo shoot at Red Rants? I’m disappointed Anderson was at the photo shoot but NOT in the final pictures of the kit. Come on! Anderson-son-son. I noticed that he was with Tevez in most of the shots, do you think that’s because they both speak Portuguese? I know Anderson’s English is awful and Tevez played for Corinthians in Brazil for a few years, so he must be one of the few players Anderson can talk to.

I don’t quite understand why they’re coming out with a new away strip for the coming season. Don’t strips normally run for a couple of season before being replaced? The black one was in use only during the 2007/2008 season, before that we had the white “retro” one with gold trim (2006/2007) season. How can they justify yet another new one. This money spinning exercise of regularly updating the club’s strip is getting ridiculous if it’s going to start happening every season!
Not only does this look rubbish, it’s very similar but not as good as our last white kit. Should have stuck with the black one, best kit we’ve had in a long time.

They should have brought back the jersey we had a few years back, white with red (i think) vertical lines on it. that for me, is the best lookin jersey ever! also the one we were during the munich tragedy looked good too. this is whack. she should nvr wear blue.
Why is everyone making such a big deal out of this? … we’ve had white away kits for years.
I personally think it looks just the same as our last white kit, and not too different from the one before, or the one before that.
The only reason why we keep bringing out white kits is so that we can justify having a 3rd kit (for when we play at Arsenal and Sunderland … and I guess Stoke now)
sperry – good point, however, if you go on the United site to their official store, they’ve launched a whole line of Ronaldo apparel that’s featured on the homepage. Seems like alot of hassle if he’s off
the black one was AWESOME, sad to see it go. the black at anfield and the emirates looked outstanding this last year, oh well.

Would have been daft to have included Ronaldo in the marketing for this kit today while his future is so up in the air. If Portugal go out tonight and he comes out tomorrow saying he wants to leave, any promo pics for the new kit with him in would leave us looking bloody daft.
I like the shirt, the collar looks great, but the shorts are atrociously fugly.

I think it’s an awful kit. The black kit is so clean and stylish, this looks like a championship clubs kit… not good at all. But as long as we win we can do it in rags!
As for CR7 let’s get rid of him and get some players that really wanna stay at this club. He’ll deteriorate at Real. That life will eat him up and he’ll en up in MLS doin’ movies and shit. Bye bye and thanx for the goals now someone else will fill thoose shoes as always

I like this new kit. Yes the black kit was one of the best we’ve had for a while. But guess what… you guys can still wearing it – so stop complaining!
Thank you, Mike, for pointing out where the blue comes from and why it is important. I am not a fan of this kit but i’m not going to moan about the blue because it is the color we wore when we won our first European Cup. It was good enough then, it’s certainly good enough now.
