Quotes Of The Week

“Rio Ferdinand has been in poor form this season by his standards and I think Sir Alex Ferguson would be shrewd to cash in on the star in January.”
Stan Collymore couldn’t be a bigger prick if he tried.

“I don’t want to play United in the knockout rounds – they’re a very strong team and I have many friends there. I played for six years at Old Trafford and have many friends at the club, but maybe if we met in the final it would be good. It will be very difficult if we play against United but to be honest I don’t want to play them.”
Not scared are you, Cristiano Ronaldo?

“One day it’s Real, the next it’s United and more recently it has been City. The player has already said he wants to remain at Inter. If Real or United knock at the door then that’s one thing, but City? What would Maicon do at City? Let’s not joke around…”
Maicon’s agent was not too happy about his Brazilian international client’s rumoured move to City.

“I believe that you have justice and it’s not my justice, it is the justice that England has decided to apply to his case. When he has paid his sentence, of course you would consider signing someone like that. When he has paid his sentence, some clubs if they want, they will take him. He is an individual and if you do what he has done, the fact that he has played football has nothing to do with it.”
Wonder if Arsene Wenger would be so forgiving if it was his daughter who got groped and her nose broken by Marlon King? The fact he plays football has everything to do with it… how many other professions would employ someone with 14 convictions including prison time for assaulting a woman?

American football would hire King in a heartbeat. They consider woman beating, prison time and multiple convictions to be a CV enhancer.

  2. theboogeyman says:

Giles-Sadly,the match is not live in India. The broadcasters have decided to show Madrid vs Milan on one channel, and Atletico vs. Chelsea on the other.

Health any better, by the way?

  3. Fze123 says:

Collymore is a cunt and a hater, never says a positive thing about utd/ our players. Marlon King should be banned from playing football forever. Maicon’s agent is pretty smart. I hope we do play real in the knockout rounds and hopefully knock them out of the competition.

I do like Tyler. Think hes one ofthe best commentators around. il always remember him from the f.a. cup semi final replay in 99. Its a wonderful run from GIGGS. Absolutely brilliant. Have no time for the rest of the sky panel. Maybe richard keys. Normally stick on rte if the match is on there.

  5. wazza (Bezi) says:

imo Richard Keys is good and neutral. Tyler is still the best around

  6. cantona7 says:

hi guys i just got back from playing futsal… opened my laptop and came to this site… to read Maicon’s agent’s comment in this f*cking tired body and mind is priceless..

let’s have a big laugh at City
    HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA

  7. Arindam@KOL says:

    United should buy :

    GK – Akinfeev / Adler / Neuer
    RB – Beck / Maicon / Lahm
    CM – Kroos / Ozil / Misimovic / Diego
    LMid – Mata / Silva / Affelay

    @Giles Oakley…
Greetings to you too mate.. Don’t know about the rest of the world but you’d be surprised with the number of people from India who visit this site (on the second thought not really that surprising considering how many we actually are). God bless science..I move from one match to the next with the space in between called life..can’t even imagine how hollow the supposed good old days would be. Half a world across there is only so much one can read or hear in the mainstream news so we (i take the liberty to include others) have little choice but to float from one site to the next trying to sniff out information no other media would report. Then of course there are also these often uplifting often enriching and often infuriating views of Scott that I simply can’t miss. And since i’m at it..always wanted say this as well and i hope it doesn’t come out wrong but when i hear those talks about the rise in ticket prices and stuff it makes me sick. I’ve been planning to see a match from the stands for years (and been saving for almost equally long) so those talks make me wonder if people fail to realize how lucky they really are. Consider the 330 million ‘core’ fans and one’d see i know what i’m talking about. But my piggy bank is almost there..can’t wait to make worth of it all.. coming to the mecca soon..hopefully will see a few of you too..

@@mohit.. Keep a eye on zee sports..else deferred telecast for certain on ten sports at 4 in the morning.

  10. sanj says:

wouldn’t it be great for a surprise inclusion of hargreaves in the squad? that would make this day even better, being that PES 2010 came out here in the US today. a long evening of footy for me!

  11. Union Jack says:

Do we know the team yet

  12. theboogeyman says:

sanj-PES started to suck after 6, get FIFA, or if you have it, play that instead.

  13. sanj says:

boogeyman, i bought FIFA10… i think PES is far better in terms of gameplay. FIFA has all the licenses and a great presentation, but to me, gameplay is the most important. plus, united is already licensed, so that’s enough for me. ha.

  19. sanj says:

    just read that jack…
“You might not be able to tell from my face but I promise I’m celebrating inside,” he says. “I’m trying to work on a celebration. I’ve been listening to a lot of music at home so maybe when I score again you’ll see a little dance.”

  31. theres only one Keano says:

    Gotta hate tiny tears
I saw that it is obvious a dig on the success he had at liverpool maybe he feels bitter the way the scouser fans have treated him when he was playing at newcastle I bet he has been dying to say that. no offence he must have been thinking well if they hate him over moving to madrid why not just move to united 2 piss the scousers off even more.

for the fat waiter the chickens come home to roost for burning out his only striker.

  32. bchilds says:

Wenger and Collymore talking utter shite

  33. Xyth says:

    Maicon’s agent is a genius!!!!!!!!!!!!

  34. Giles Oakley says:

Thanks for asking about my health, boogeymen. I had a ‘planning scan’ today, to line me up for my radio therapy in a couple of weeks, when beams are targeted at the tumour and at-risk lymph nodes in a sort of microwave. All a bit daunting but the staff are wonderful at the Royal Marsden. But I’m actually more worried about my heart-rate and blood pressure, which were tested to the limit tonight…football, eh, bloody hell. Actually my blood pressure went off the scale at that ref denying Fletcher his pen, and then booking him for diving!!

  35. theboogeyman says:

Giles-I missed the match,I got too sleepy and plus I had school so….

  36. Gooner77 says:

I agree with you Scott here – I don’t know what Wenger is on about – one thing is for sure though there is no way King would ever be signed to play for Arsenal (even though he would never be good enough) – why Wenger feels the need to play devils advocate in this situation is beyond me.
The likes of Pennant and Bentley were moved on for their big time charlie attitude and clearly King falls into much, much worse bracket, he may pay his sentence but given that he has previous convictions and record of doing this proves that it wasn’t a one-off. If I had a daughter and found out the was frequenting the kind of places that footballers go on the pull I would be livid!!!
