Marcus Rashford came on at half-time in Manchester United’s 5-2 win over Galatasaray and made a big impact. He ran at great pace at the opposition defenders time and again, which helped him win the penalty that Wayne Rooney scored to put us 3-2 ahead.

After the game, Rashford talked about what the win meant and what Jose Mourinho said to the players at half-time.

I think it’s important to get the first win together as a group. We all had to dig in for the result. It’s a good way to win leading up to the season. He wasn’t concerned about anything from the first half, he just told us to push up as a team, and we did that, by closing their spaces in the second half.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored his first United goal after four minutes and Rashford has revealed how great it is to train and play alongside the experienced striker.

It’s amazing. We can all learn from him while he’s here so we all need to take the chance. It’s a massive help. Just being with him day in day out is a help. Not just on the pitch, but off the pitch as well. So there’s a lot to learn from him and hopefully I can bring some of what he does in to my own game.

I’m just preparing now for the new season. I’m just taking it steady. There’s no need to rush in to anything, I’m just taking my time.
