It has been announced today that Marcus Rashford has been shortlisted to win the PFA Young Player of the Year award.

Rashford is enjoying his highest scoring and highest assisting season in the Premier League, with 10 goals and six assists in 21 starts.

He is joined by Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva, Declan Rice, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, James Maddison and Leroy Sane.

Rashford is currently negotiating a contract extension with the club. Reports suggest that he is holding out for £200,000-a-week and wants reassurances over playing a central role. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made it clear that Rashford is key to his plans going forward and there are few concerns that a deal will be agreed between club and player soon.
