Social media came alive this morning when a report in The Sun claimed that Marcus Rashford was stalling on signing a contract extension because he was concerned about the direction Manchester United were heading in.
Rashford has two years remaining on his current deal and talks are underway for him to sign a new deal. However, the report today claims that Rashford “will assess Manchester United intent on rejoining football’s elite before signing his new contract”.
Given how readily supporters are to dismiss nonsense transfer stories, it’s strange that so many fans have believed the claim about Rashford to be true.
Rashford’s brother and agent, Dwaine Maynard, took to Instragram to deny the story.
