Something that I’ve really grown fond of over the past season or more is watching Rio Ferdinand’s reaction when we score an important goal. Just check out YouTube clips of him after Owen Hargreaves scored against Arsenal, or Carlos Tevez against Blackburn, and you’ll see him go totally apeshit.
Today, Ferdinand has answered a whole host of questions from the fans for MUTV, including his reaction to our goals.
“I can’t really say,” Rio said, after being asked what he says to his team mates when they score. “There are normally swear words involved! Usually it’s along the lines of ‘Well done’.”
He also talked about how I felt when he first signed for Manchester United.
“The first thing I remember doing when I got into the changing rooms was feeling the kit, touching the socks and realising this was a Manchester United kit,” he said. “When you walk out just before a game and the crowd’s going crazy it’s an amazing feeling. I’ve been fortunate enough to do it for the last six or seven years so hopefully that will continue for a while longer.”
He is the best CB in the world. Fuck Terry, Carracgher and Puyol, they are all shite compared to him!

He has always been a class act, but he has matured and his concentration has got better, a real leader of men.
The fist clutching cliche hardman of a captain like Terry has long since past, people look up to Rio, firstly because he is simply the best centre back in the World bar none and secondly he is an inspirational type of person charismatic and intelligent. To me he our our most important player.

Rio has got the potential to be a ‘United Legend’, Improved soo much in the last 3 years.
True…rio is the best centre half in the world. He does everything with ease and mops up any loose balls like he’s walking in the park. Also there is no doubt he has become ingrained in the club and represents now all the history tradition and respect of years gone by. By that i mean SAF and Sir Bob have said…he has become a real bastion and ambassador for the club.
He is also the player that berates the most…which shows how much he cares. He is also the player who runs celebrates jumps shouts and holds the goalscorers head while saying what ever he says. Then finally tapping everyone on the head and pumping his fist and gee ing everyone up to carry it on and keep switched on. He does this at every game and every goal. His hand gestures and body language = i want to die for utd. Arsenal game, rovers game, nearly every game you see him do that.
And for me HE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PLAYER AT OUR CLUB. He will take the mantle from nevs, scholes, giggsy and they respect him soooooo much. But also he is the GLUE that links the older players to the young wipper snappers. Who look up to him and respect him. And i bet he tells them to keep on the straight and narrow and telling of his own past mistakes. Young players = RIO = older players. He hangs out and does things with both sets of age groups in their social time.

This weekend against Rovers Rio passed to VDS, the forward he was defending was foolish enough to chase the long ball, Rio calmly broke away from the forward to the left, and VDS smartly passed the ball back to Rio. It was like watching keep-away from a child. It was pure class !!!
