Rio: Kagawa Will Surprise People With How Good He Is

Rio Ferdinand has sung the praises of new team mate Shinji Kagawa and hopes he continue on the great form from Borussia Dortmund at United.

“I can’t wait to see Kagawa in action,” Rio told MUTV at Nike’s ‘The Chance’ event. “I watched him on TV last season and saw him in the cup final when Dortmund beat Bayern Munich and he looked very impressive. I think a lot of people will be surprised by how good he really is and hopefully he can hit the ground running.”

Tony’s letter to his fans: What a man. 8)

To all my fans and fans of Manchester United

Manchester United have decided that during the 2012-2013 season wear the jersey number 7 of the team, something very significant since have worn the club’s greatest players. I take the name with pride, but also with humility, knowing that I have a new responsibility to leave at the top the name of Ecuador.
I am very happy, very happy to wear the 7 is a responsibility in my life and I take it with great humility. I hope that number 7 is not even me, because I just want to keep playing and giving joy to Ecuador and Manchester United. This is the only thing in my head. the # 7 shirt at Manchester United is very special for the players who have worn: George Best, Bryan Robson, Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo, Michael Owen. It’s very cute, much respected for that number and am very happy. I have to sweat the shirt, this number and do what you have done that have been used before: give title to Manchester.

When I called to suggest wearing the number 7, do not hesitate to say yes, to assume that responsibility and respond to such confidence in my team.
Respond only with hard work and professionalism, giving me the most to the fans of Manchester United keep winning titles.
I hope I continue to support. All I want is to continue giving much joy to people and do my best, as they always have.

    On 7 we all are.

    Antonio Valencia.

Never joke about Messi and Stoke in the same sentence. There’s so many things wrong with that even as joke I don’t know where to begin. Could never see Messi munching on an oatcake.

  26. FletchTHEMAN says:

Another Fan myth bites the dust:

    Maurice Watkins
“There was all this talk about whether [Alex] might have gone in 1990,” Maurice said. “But, as far as I am aware, this was never even discussed. Whatever the press might have been saying at the time he was our manager and we wanted him. As things turned out, it was the correct way.

ARJUnited – That sums Tony up mate. The same day we have cunts like Fryers being Billy Big Balls. Take heed you little wankers.

  33. King Eric says:

Fletch – Hello mate. Wouldn’t read too much into it. Park is still on the new kit posters etc. I bet you a pound to a penny if Park does go he will score against us!!

  34. Balaji Sivaraman says:

Costas, As for the more playing time point, I guarantee that they would’ve got it this season. I’ve argued this point many times and all have disagreed. But this is what I feel. Last year, we were already in turmoil with injuries and we were chasing City like fuck. We didn’t have our captain and our central defense was in disarray. There’s no way any of Pogba, Morrison or Fryers will ever be introduced in that situation, no matter how good they think they are. It’s a face of Sir Alex’s managerial career.

Sure, you could point and say that he gave chances to dunces like Richardson, but most of them were introduced into already stable teams. You cannot start with youngsters when you are chasing the title. If they come good, then that’s fine. If they make mistakes, they’ll be slaughtered, by the press and by a section of the fans as well. That won’t do their confidence any good.

I am not saying this is what happened. Like anybody else, I am trying to understand what the situation at the club is. For some stupid fucking reason, I don’t expect Sir Alex to do something without a strong reasoning behind it. I cannot say the same for everybody else, but when he makes a decision, however wrong it maybe, I try to get into his head and understand why he made that. So, when the youngsters are not introduced, I see this as a possible reasoning behind why they weren’t played last season.

And it perfectly sounds good. It is better to go in with seniors like Scholes/Evra and lose rather than unproven youngsters like Pogba/Fryers and lose. That’s just how it works. I’d be really, really surprised if we didn’t get a glimpse of a lot of the youngsters next season provided we can keep our central core stable. That’s how youngsters are introduced. When the core is fine, they get a chance to shine. When it isn’t, we become Arsenal. And I can’t possibly imagining Sir Alex letting us become Arsenal.

So, the youngsters who’ve been patient for their chance are going to get it. Those who aren’t patient enough. Those who buy their own hype. Those who think they “should” be played because they think they are ready are probably going to be off pretty soon.

  35. Arjunited says:

    @ King Eric

Totally mate. Would take players such as Tony any day over people like Fryers. He never has that huge chip on his shoulder.

  38. jeet says:

The boy plays like a minimalist painter or designer. He needs so few touches on the ball, its deceptive. He receives the ball late, already having made his move. Receive, nudge it up, head up, and bang the striker’s through. Nothing proved yet, but I’m very very excited.
