Rio Reveals Moscow Team Talk

Rio Ferdinand, who will sit out today’s match through injury, has revealed what Sir Alex Ferguson said to the team before kick-off in Moscow.

“I’ll never forget the manager’s speech in Moscow,” said Rio. “Before the game he just plunked his chair in the middle of the dressing room and just started a random conversation totally unrelated to football. But it just settled everybody’s nerves and before we knew it his talk switched to words of pure inspiration, reminding all the players that whatever you do in life is to achieve your goals. And, of course, it worked. We won the game.”

what can i say fergie is the greatest manager of all time! the one thing that annoys me is the perception of other rival fans, the media and the pundits is that majority of them think fergie is a mean bully who only brings out the “hairdryier” whenever we lose and that players are forced to play well. the thing is there’s something called motivation and fergie certainly has that and is stereotyped as a strict person but some people don’t know fergie can give the most motivational speeches ever known to mankind in regards to football or his life during half time in his team talks.

he’s the best manager of all time , its as simple as that. his man management skills , his work ethic and discipline and the will to win is out of this world. He has that aura around him , i cant describe him in words in short – SAF is god :)
we are privileged to have him at the helm of our beloved club.

    Spot on Hargreaves!

SAF has been able to make United teams play for something more than just themselves for nearly 25 years now. Recall Ronaldo’s parting words, virtually saying he replaced his own father and was the biggest single influence in making him the best in the world. Think of how he handled Cantona …. etc. etc. etc. you can’t bully performances from players like these.

Dying breed. SAF is one of the greatest men alive, the likes of him come once in a lifetime. I dread the day he will retire from football, there will never be anyone good enough in replacing him.
