RoM Cantona T-shirt Competition Winners

Republik of Mancunia offered the readers an opportunity to win an Eric Cantona t-shirt from the good people at Philosophy Football.

The winners are: Steve Belcher, Evan Martin, Steve Perkins, Nikhil Saraf and Ingar Rostvag Ulltveit-Moe.

Don’t forget that you have until Friday to enter the RoM Summer Competition where you have to draw your favourite moment from the season on Microsoft Paint, with a t-shirt of your choice from the RoM Manchester United shop up for grabs.

Here’s the runner up of RoM’s last competition, where you had to sum up why Manchester United are bad for your health in 50 words, with his prize.

    Right, I reckon I can explain the ‘sardines’ comment…

    Cantona was the trawler. The seagulls were the Press (though vultures may be more appropriate). The sardines were the comments and reactions that the Press were looking for, or trying to stir up, while following Cantona.

    So when the Press (the seagulls) followed Cantona (the trawler) it was because they thought controversy and outrageousness (sardines) would ensue (would be thrown into the sea).

    Oh hang on…Eric said it was nonsense didn’t he? Damn!

    yale college once in the late 60′s did a study on beatles lyrics and trying to work out what goes on in john lennons mind while he writes the words he writes and the hidden meaning behind them.so to fuck them up he wrote i am the walrus
    thats what cantona did with this speach
