RoM Fantasy Football League

We have joined up with a brand new Fantasy Football league, ProSportex. When you register, make sure you enter “republik” in the “access key” section. Then once you’ve picked you’re team, join the RoM league.

The best thing about this FF game is that when you want to change your team, you have to put in bids for other players and put players from your own team on the market.

Feel free to invite your mates.

Booo – no fantasy.premierleague RoM league this year, then?

  2. CedarsDevil says:

I have absolutely no idea what ‘fantasy football’ is all about ……..

My idea of fantasy football is us getting our title back

  3. kanchelskis says:

    @Cedars

    In short:

    - PL players assigned value according to their quality
    - Participants have transfer budget to build up a squad
    - You ‘field’ an XI from your squad every week
    - Players earn points for goals, assists, clean sheets, bonus points for stand-out performances
    - Players lose points for cards, conceding loads, own goals
    - You make transfers over the course of the season
    - Try and get as many points as poss, in a league vs friends / colleagues / internet randomers etc

Cheers mate, I do have an idea what its about I just do not have the time of day for it. Much rather just bounce watching 11 beautiful REDS on the pitch

  5. 911_DEVIL says:

Ha, haven’t played but will try it out once I get to understand it better

But the important things we should be aiming for are the real thing..
    Which are:
    Winning games
    Staying at the top
And challenge for every title available

Fantasy can come as part of fun, me think….

    Not for me.

  10. FletchTHEMAN says:

    Yawnnnnnnn

United are the team for me …… just sayin! ;)

  11. Bad Wolf says:

I will field 4 Orcs in the back 4 dwarves in the middle and two Elves up top……..and a troll in goal (T.I.G)….. Am i doing this right?

  12. Rai says:

@ STR. This place can get a bit tedious at times, maybe if you got yourself involved a bit more on the actual discussion you’d have a better place for debates. No point getting involved once a year when it’s time for us to vote on “blog of the year”.

Haven’t posted much lately, but on the recent topics and the main discussion on signings, really don’t understand the potential RVP signing. We were told there’s no value in the market, yet we’re trying to sign an injury prone 29 year old for £20million??!!!!! Have we not learned from Hargreaves and Owen? I would much rather spend another £5-10million (economics permitting) and get someone who will grow with the club.

The Kagawa signing looks a masterstroke. What a little gem we have on our hands.

Looking forward to the new season, very optimistic.

    P.S. Get well soon MG.

Wow….did the world fucking blow up or something? where is everyone?

    Anyways

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/retailandconsumer/9474198/Manchester-United-worth-2.2bn-less-than-Glazers-believe.html

Am I oracle or what ! I said this a days ago, doesn’t take a genius though to realise the Glazers are making up b/s valuations in a pathetic attempt to get some poor sap to pay 4x the real value. We’re worth £1.5bn max even thats optimistic.

  14. Utsava Sharma says:

Skysports have done a simulation of what would happen if RVP joined City, Utd or stayed at Arsenal.
Might be bollocks but on a slow day like this worth the read

    http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11667/7978957/If-RVP-went-to

    The conclusions for United are

    £25M transfer

    - Man United win the league and Champions League and RVP is instrumental in their success – More appearances than anyone else (46) and top team scorer with 24 goals in the Premier League

    - Average rating of 7.59

    - Rooney and RVP are a deadly partnership together

    - RVP second top scorer in PL and Footballer of the Year runner-up

    - £21.5M value after 2012/13 season

    Anyone think a slight exaggeration?

  15. Rai says:

Utsava – Hello, don’t see it myself. Would much rather see us use Danny/Chico up front with Rooney or Kagawa behind a front two/one. As much as I admire RVP as a player I don’t think it’s the best move for the club. 29, high wages, high risk of injury, no thanks.

  16. Zibbie says:

    Football is my fantasy

  17. Zibbie says:

Sounds as if Welbeck will sign a long term deal.
Rooney can play out on the left as well. RvP a head scratchier for me, as Rai put’s the points out spot on as I have learned MUFC budgeting and buying practice’s. Then the FAN in me say’s get’em go get him.
Kagawa was the key of the summer for me. Makes people better. Not afraid to play a simple ball.

Cheers for the best wishes. Regarding the Blackburn game the other goal was scored by Paul McGrath. The funny thing about getting older is I can remember 1985 like it was yesterday but I’m fucked if I can remember what I did yesterday.
    On topic
I can’t be arsed with fantasy football personally. I tried it once but found It takes up too much time and thought. It also fucks with people’s perspective of what’s important. I was talking to a friend on the phone after the last derby and he excitedly told me that Kompany was his captain so he gets double points. I hung up the phone and I’ve not  spoken to the cunt since.

  22. Bishopville Red says:

I turned off fantasy football when they wouldn’t let me put 11 Red Devils on the pitch. Whose fantasy is this?

I’d go for a score predictor league if anyone is working june out, I crushed the SPL last year. 1-0 to the home side, 2-0 for Celtic and Club 12 every time!
