nani is getting impossible to drop. his confidence has been so fragile in the past, would fergie dare mess with it by dropping him when he’s in such good form?

anyone have a list of undroppables currently besides the obvious wazza, evra, vds? just curious as to other opinions on this.

  2. rooninho says:

studs up article: “lesbian woman who i thought was samir nasri!” brilliant!

  3. Muggaz says:

I think it’s still a little early to think of Nani as the bees knees, but he is finally using the bucket loads of potential that SAF and we have all seen… it is certainly very nice to anticipate something good happening everytime he gets the ball, rather than bemoaning his inclusion in the team! Best of luck to the lad.

  4. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

rio has withdrew his appel against his extra one match ban
he must not want to risk missing wembley
if only he was a bulldog

  5. bigphil2003 says:

@rooninho – Undroppables when fit IMO are: Rooney, Fletcher, Evra, Vidic, Ferdinand, VDS. Assuming that by undroppable you mean “first choice” because of course if any of them were to get shit then they would be dropped hopefully.

  6. Macheda IS GOD says:

I was playing manager mode on FIFA 10 and i got Milan in the knock out stages today!

I lost 3-2 at the san siro after losing 3-0 i managed to get 2 goals back

But the drama started at old trafford though with me looking to get one goal and win it 3-3 on aggregate with the away goal

It started brightly for me Pato (I bought him last season) scored against his former club to make it 1-0 and 3-3 on aggregate,I soon made it 2-0 with a brilliant ball by Rooney finding pato again for 2-0 and 4-3 on aggregate.

But I gave away a penalty which made it 4-4 on aggregate 2-1 on the scoreboard,But then Owen Hargreaves for it to be 5-4 on aggregate 3-1 on the night. But my careless defending gave yet another penalty and jankulovski got his seconds and Milan’s equalizer on aggregate (remember i lost 3-2 and now Milan are losing 3-2)

    5-5 on aggregate.10 minutes remaining.
It was an easy script to follow,Waves of pressure from Manchester united looking for the winning goal. The kings of the late goal we are known as,And we have something to prove for,Rooney’s brilliant shot was helped on by abbiati And PATO tapped in for his hat-trick in front of the stretford end and putting it 4-2 on the night 6-5 On aggregate in the 91st minute for me to go wild as i knew i just knocked Milan out.

Hope that happens in real life (With pato being as Micheal Owen!).

  7. rooninho says:

@bigphil yeah i suppose first choice makes more sense, but i was really getting at “no choice” as in these guys are in no matter what happens or who is brought in to the squad. i have the same list as you except but (not trying to say he is a god now) i think nani can’t be dropped until his confidence is solidified or his good form starts to dip. also, i’m a big fan of evans and although vidic and rio are my pick, i could see evans slot right in there as well with little difference these days.

  8. Edge says:

I like the Between The Lines article…… And then I also like the Studs Up article.

But which is better. There’s only one way to find out.

    TAKE A SURVEY.

    Violence is never the answer.

  9. Costas says:

Well done Man United and Rio. They fucked us over(with the extra game ban) and we said thank you.

  10. Drabik says:

    Edge – genius!

  11. Jandsdad says:

I have to say I am disappointed that Rio is withdrawing his appeal, is this the start of Rio believing England > Man United. Hope not

Sir Alex thought he had a strong case.

  12. Fred says:

I’ve never read that “Beetwen the Lines” blog before and I don’t think I ever will. I’m sure he’ll go back to slating Nani before long. There were some mongs who used to slate Ronaldo pre-2006. I’m sure they would have rather had a team of Alan Smiths.

Personally, I’ve never been one to write Nani off. He is incredibly talented and players of his technical ability don’t come along every day. His touch, control and dribbling are all first rate, he is just about our best crosser and his shooting is exceptional too, when he’s in the mood.

He’s obviously a confidence player and it didn’t help him that he was constantly being dropped, getting shit off his own team’s fans at Old Trafford and no doubt getting the hairdryer treatment from Fergie. Meanwhile he stepped up to the plate in Ronaldo’s absence in Portugal’s World Cup playoffs, setting up the winning goals in both legs. Yet I was still hearing how the “shit cunt” was our worst ever player and how we’d be lucky to get £3m for him in the transfer window. :-D

Calderon been talking shit again I see.

  14. NotoriousRedDevil says:

Nani is a prime example of how impatient football fans can be and you can add Fletcher to that list of examples as well. What I don’t understand is fans who admit their wrong about Fletcher and continue to slate Nani whos had the fraction of the time at the club compared to Fletcher. Its good to see the pennys dropped with Nani, it was all about his brain rather than his feet. Players can be frustrate us at time especially during the devolopment stage, we should encourage them not slate them. Darren Gibson is the next target and many of you will end up looking foolish again.

  15. Costas says:

    @Welsh_United

Yeah I read that a few minutes ago. Calderon probably wants to rile up Barcelona, but it’s interesting to hear that there was an agreement with United from December of 08.

  16. aig alex is god says:

Do Man City do that pathetic blue moon thing before every league or cup home game?. It looks pathetic

  17. King Eric says:

Off topic but I sincerely hope Bolton get points off the bitters tonight. Sick of the cunt’s. What the hell is with that tacky blue moon over wastelands? Contrived to fuck. Also did anyone hear them singing “U-N-I-T-E-D that spells fucking debt for me……………………….”. Thats all they care about is how much fucking money their owners have. Cannot wait till they come down with an almighty bang. Thought we had heard the last of them after preventing their first final appearance in THIRTY FOUR YEARS. The commentators really don’t help. Saying they will soon join Europe’s elite. How exactly? Europes elite do not contest the Europa league which is the MOST they can hope for.

    No class and no history.

Oh and fuck all trophies for 34 years. THIRTY FUCKING FOUR YEARS!!!

  18. King Eric says:

AIG – Hi mate. You beat me to it! Yes indeedy they have it prior to EVERY home game. As I said no class whatsoever. One question. Just why the fuck is Barry Ingerlunds first choice? He is shit. Hope Carrick continues his form and beats him to a place.

  19. Berbatovs' love life says:

    @Macheda is life

really? an extended recap of your Fifa manager game? Im all about loving Manchester United but i promise you no one cares about your computer game bro…sorry to say

  20. willierednut says:

Fcuk of king eric ive got city in a 10 pound treble lol.

  21. aig alex is god says:

    @King Eric

Hi mate. Makes me laugh that blue moon thing.Small club,Small mentality as this shows.add to that the tevez poster thing too.seriously wont mind seeing the dippers finish 4th because i think spurs are imploding already.

As far as you carrick question goes i myself have no clue.Barry has been Crap all season. Possibly because whenever carrick usually plays England are shite, the whole team i mean like the game against Spain 2-3 years back and the one against Brazil recently. Possibly because Barry can do better defensively and has a decent range of passing compared to carrick who has a brilliant range of passing but isnt exactly a defensive midfielder. Also one of the reason why Capello was eagerly awaiting news on Hargreaves because he needs a proper CDM and England dont have any good one in that area, otherwise Hargo would have been preferred to those 2.

  22. welbz19 says:

Matt James has just scored on his debut for preston! great news!

  23. King Eric says:

Seriously when are the pundits and everyone else actually gonna realise that Citeh are awful, fucking shit. None of those mercenary fuckers could give a toss about the club they play for. Viera is a liability now and Adebayour is the lasiest, greediest most passion less player I have seen in some time. You can tell there is no team spirit or drive to win. No cohesion. They have been punching well above their weight with mediocre performances of late only helped by the fact they seem to get every decision go their way. Talk about the Sheiks and money talking. Wonder how many backhanders have been given out thus far? They will soon get found out for the mediocre dross they are. Mancini is a joke and I have never seen such negative style and tactics. Why oh fucking why do the commentators insist on talking like he is a genius? They have Steven fucking Ireland on the bench who by some distance is better than Viera, Barry, Zabaleta etc. I will give it to May at the most and Richard Madely will be gone only to be replaced by yet ANOTHER manager and the whole process starts again. I honestly feel and I have said this all season they WILL NOT make top 6.

The funniest thing is the berties singing “Fergie sign him up”. Like we actually care. Horrible bitter moustachioed cunt’s.

  24. King Eric says:

welbz19 – Great stuff. Pleased to hear that. Wellbeck, Cleverley and now James banging the goals in. Cheers pal.

  25. welbz19 says:

king eric – really do feel this trio plus johnny evans are the best group of players we have had come through for a long time, all been at the club since their early teens!
know matt James a bit aswell lives in the same town as me, keeping my fingers crossed for him, really sound lad got his head screwed on right!!

  26. Gotta hate tiny ears says:

fuck me ive to stay in hospital wat a pain in the hole i wont get to watch united tomorrow night, anyway i just got that news as i was reading the comments. the blue moon thin is so funny for a man who never eve grew out of watching wrestling it always makes me think that the undertaker is about to apper for city. when they did it in the derby a couple of weeks back the united fans were armed with red flairs to ligt up the ric flair enterance

  27. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

as above i just spelt my name wrong on this puter

  28. Fred says:

Great to see another of our fledglings scoring whilst on loan. Sir Alex was there watching, I believe.

  29. Fred says:

@NotoriousRedDevil – I agree with you about Fletch. He used to get some terrible stick from our fans but I always trusted Fergie’s judgement. Looks like the old man was right *shock horror!* On the other hand I’m not a huge fan of Gibbo but to each his own.

  30. denton davey says:

Relevant to next-to-nothing but this Brazilian squad makes for interesting reading:

    Squad:

Goalkeepers: Julio Cesar (Inter Milan), Doni (AS Roma)

Defenders: Maicon (Inter Milan), Daniel Alves (Barcelona), Gilberto (Cruzeiro), Michel Bastos (Olympique Lyon), Lucio (Inter Milan), Luisao (Benfica), Juan (AS Roma), Thiago Silva (AC Milan)

Midfielders: Elano (Galatasaray), Felipe Melo (Juventus), Gilberto Silva (Panathinaikos), Josue (VfL Wolfsburg), Julio Baptista (AS Roma), Kaka (Real Madrid), Kleberson (Flamengo), Ramires (Benfica)

Forwards: Luis Fabiano (Sevilla), Robinho (Santos), Adriano (Flamengo), Nilmar (Villarreal)

    KLEBERSON ?

    GILBERTO SILVA ?

    ELANO ?

    JULIO BAPTISTA ?

    ROBINHO ?

Not one of these guys could cut it in the EPL. Yet this is the team that EVERYONE expects to win the World Cup. Stranger than fiction.

  31. five says:

Elano is a fantastic player he just unfortunately played for City and Hughes didnt like him, he was great when Sven was around.

Robinho…he has an attitude problem when he plays for Brazil he usually turns up he didnt give a fuck about City and it showed

Kleberson- Do remember the only reason we signed him was because of his international form I havent seen him play in ages but perhaps he’s kept it up?

Baptista- Yeah I dont rate him at all I agree with you but anyone who scores 3 goals at Anfield is alright in my book.

Gilberto-There are better options available then him I agree

Just because they dont cut it in the EPL doesnt make them bad players, Veron was class but didnt cut it

Gotta love how Darren Ferguson is giving all these kids competitive football in a no frills league like the Championship its bound to toughen them up and make them better

  32. five says:

I ll tell you which ones an applaling selection- Gilberto assuming its the same one that was at Spurs hes incredibly poor and not fit for the Championship, the Da Silva Twins are better

  33. x0dus says:

    @bigphil:
i agree with most of your selection, but I just wanted to ask, does anyone know where Vidic is? He wasn’t in sight for the Portsmouth game. I really hope rumours that he will be sold off after the season isn’t true.

  34. manchuchu says:

The twins will be Brazil mainstays in two years. You mark my words.
