The Independent has a great article on Ferguson, Beckham and what makes us better than other clubs.

The Guardian‘s gallery looks at United vs the Glazers.

Despite what The Daily Mail thinks, there won’t be empty seats at the AC Milan game.

The Times reports on the FA’s decision to relay the turf at Wembley for the 10th time in three years… although blame it on the rain.

John Terry finally says sorry to Wayne Bridge on YouTube.

    gotta hate – Can’t get youtube at work mate.

    That Independent article is superb. “United don’t just make better footballers , they make better people”. Spot on. I fucking love this club.

  3. DEVILisRED says:

  4. Paul H says:

    Saw the Guardian gallery earlier today and particularly enjoyed the Thaksin, Magnusson et al, dressed in green and gold. Both amusing and disturbing at the same time. Not so sure about the mental state of the people behind some of the other pictures though :)

    Did AC Milan introduce Dental checks after the Ronaldinho signing?

    10 times butting the grass down at wembley
    when i was younger i used to sell beds and the line i used to use to sell people the more expensive beds was say to them “you pay for quility ”
    the rain is so bad in london that it ruins wembley pitch 10 times in 3 years
    yet the 3 million pound london based arsenal pitch is still one of the best in europe. strange that

    Hi Gotta Hate, Green & Gold sure suits Emily! I really hope she enjoys her day out and that the fans around her treat her nicely and make it special for her.

    By the way, knowing your abiding enthusiasm for Tiny Tears, I hope you’ve watched the Terry video. Classic. Made my day.

    Great article by Matt Dickinson. He’s ghosting Gary Neville’s autobiography, to be published only after he retires…His missus is a big United fan and she watched the 2008 Champions Lge Final round at my house, with a crowd of others, I hasten to add (no John Terry-style scandal here, she’s a friend of one of my football team-mates!)

  8. Costas says:

    Hi guys. Here’s the training squad according to the official website:

    Full training squad: Van der Sar, Kuszczak; De Laet, Evans, Rafael, Vidic, Evra, Ferdinand, Neville; Park, Scholes, Carrick, Obertan, Gibson, Valencia, Nani, Fletcher; Rooney, Berbatov, Diouf.

    Good tpo see Evans fit. Giggsy did some light jogging, so I think we are looking at a return against Liverpool for him.

    And I guess Fergie was right to choose De Laet ahead of Hargo, because now we have one more option for our defence.

    John Terry saying sorry to Wayne on YouTube is hillarious!

    @Costas
    Great news about wazza, but will saf play him from the start?

  11. wayne says:

    the independent article is one of the most thoughtful i’ve read for a while,no club with a team full of rent boys can mantain long periods of success when the only motivation is money.not sure if i’m a big empty seats fan anything that might effect the players is not good

  12. EastStandManc says:

    “You fahckin’ windin’ me ahp?”. Classic.

    The only blot on the uploader’s sheet is the way his balls shrivelled up when he responded “No mate”.

  13. RED SAM says:

    can somebody please assure me that the guardian gallery is just jokes….phil brown the united manger and andrei voronin our leading forward :) ??

    if that is what being bankrupt is all about, am ready to offer everything i have to keep fergi,rooney and the company

  14. NotoriousRedDevil says:

    @ GHTT – Spot on. You’d expect professional journalists to pick up on that. More specifically you would expect the average football fan to know that but alas, common sense is a commodity few have these days.

  15. lucasthebest says:

    JT: ” Are you just winding me up?”

    Yes, Of course, use the brain in your skull… not that one in your trouser!!

    Just to see JT figures out that he’s been poked for a Laugh – PRICELESS!!

  16. willierednut says:

    Rooney’s fit, wes is out 4 to 6 weeks.

  17. Costas says:

    @willierednut

    He could be rested mate. Who knows? Fergie might start without him and throw him in if he is needed.

  18. Costas says:

    @willierednut

    Oh, that’s good news about Wes. He might be back in time for the Ch.League quarter finals.

  19. AlphaRS says:

    @willierednut
    I think SAF should rest Rooney and put him on the bench. I hope it’s not another case of Wayne saying he is fit when he is not as he did for England. Although United seem a bit toothless in attack without Rooney and Owen. Don’t think Berbatov is the man to lead the line for United unless we play a 4-4-2 which I doubt SAF will do against AC Milan. He needs someone to “flick” the ball to so they can score. Can’t believe the amount of chances Diouf missed against Wolves.

  20. RedAlert260599 says:

    The people of Wigan, renowned for their love of pies, got an extra treat last night when 11 puddings from Liverpool arrived! :-)

  21. willierednut says:

    @AlphaRS
    I don’t think saf would take a chance on Rooney if he wasn’t fit. I remember Wenger played Henry when he wasn’t 100 percent fit and he broke down during the match against psv a few years ago. @RedAlert260599 lol

  22. Red Devil 19 says:

    Hey lads, hope my fellow reds are good today. My girlfriend just bought me hospitality package for chelsea match, lancs cricket club or something. Any one know much about this package? Is it worth going all day or shall I just take match ticket? Be a great help if you guys could help me out! Offiicial website is pants. Cheers lads

  23. Doghouse says:

    I think it’s almost a little bit sad that this season we’ve gotten so used to Liverpool losing that we don’t stop to have a really proper gloat any more.

  24. Sanj says:

    Haven’t read through all the posts, but has anyone read anything about O’Shea making an early comeback from injury? That’d be great news, especially in light of Wes’ latest injury.

  25. willierednut says:

    @Sanj
    I heard He’ll back in May.

  26. Sanj says:

    @willierednut
    Well, guess that doesn’t help much…

  27. Sanj says:

    What a great line:
    “It is Ferguson’s achievement in turning United into not merely a football club, but an educational establishment; in producing not just better footballers, but better people.”

  28. King Eric says:

    Sanj – Hello mate. No reports say O’Shea may be back training in a couple of weeks, thats what I heard.

    Doghouse – Quality post. I know exactly what you mean. It has become the “norm” now.
