  1. Gary says:

    Is Piers Morgan accurate? was it Beckhams choice to walk out on United when he did or did he have the opportunity to stay?

  2. bchilds says:

    I still don’t believe that it was Beckham’s choice to leave United, to say he was forced out is a bit harsh but walk out he did not.

    Piers Morgan is a cock though, always slagging off United in one form or another.

  3. Costas says:

    Nope, sorry. Morgan’s article is the product of jealousy and bias. It has little to do with accurate journalism. And I wondered this last night. Ok, that’s his opinion on Beckham. How are the likes of Gerrard and Terry any different?

  4. Costas says:

    Something about the comments section. It asks for my name and e-mail everytime I want to make a new comment. In the old format it didn’t. Does anyone else get this? I hope it’s something that can get fixed.

  5. bchilds says:

    @Costas

    Yep, me too – annoying isn’t it! Hopefully it can be fixed.

  6. Costas says:

    @bchilds

    Yeah it is. Especially when you are too lazy to move your fingers. And tust me, I am. :P

  7. Fze123 says:

    Piers Morgan can go fuck himself, the fat bastard. He loves slagging off past and current Utd players whenever he gets the oppourtinity to. I think most of his articles’ topics revolve about Utd. He focus on writing about his darling Arsenal instead.

  8. Fze123 says:

    By the way nice new layout Scott. Expected you to change the colours to G&G when you change it but it looks great anyway.

  9. Jandsdad says:

    Piers Morgan is a cock of the highest order of cockery but he does have a point when it comes to Beckham.
    Everything he has stated about Beckham he could quite easily attribute the same qualities to himself and his own extremeley fortunate journalist/celebrity career.
    Takes a self serving publicity seeking whore to know a self serving publicity whore.

  10. Jandsdad says:

    @ Scott

    liking the new look

  11. RED KNIGHTS says:

    Cheers scott! Looking classic.

  12. reDalerT says:

    a template/colour switcher to change to GG colours, perhaps? that would be interesting :D

  13. Jim says:

    Nice template switch Scott. Your website nearly looks as cool as mine now ;)

  14. weeeeldrinkadrinkadrink says:

    i’m glad most of ye feel the same way about piers morgan’s article as i do.He never wanted to leave united as is a true legend.you could see how emotional he was about the homecoming during his post match interview.well done becks,we’ll never forget ya

  15. frenchman7 says:

    Theres a fair bit in the Beckham article thats hard to disagree with, he was and is media hungry, he could easily have stayed at Utd had he toed the line his manager wanted him to, instead of being photographed at every publicity opportunity available to him and that odeous troll of a wife of his. That said, if Piers Morgan had the chance to interview Beckham, he wouldnt turn it down, even after what he has written about Beckham.

  16. DEVILisRED says:

    i do not agreed with most of u guys, i do believe Beckham did walk out of manchester united. dont let times vague our memories. that’s what he wanted when i try to recall è months/weeks leading to his departure.
    but for all the good things he has said since, i have forgive & forget, & the liking factor has definetly improves significantly. but it’s very clear to me he Did walk out of us on his choice. facts cannot bw change.

  17. Costas says:

    I don’t know where Morgan got the impression that Beckham has said that United is the club for him after 2003. What I do recall, is Beckham saying that he was and is a United fan. As far as why he left Madrid and why he is coming back in Milan, I am not too familiar with that. I don’t follow those clubs closely. I am amazed that someone who spends most of his time sticking his head up his ass like Morgan does, had time to do research on that.

    Also, Beckham’s actions after putting the scarf have contradicted themsleves. No one knows his true agenda. Apart from Piers the genius obviously. Not denying that Becks loves the spotlight guys. Far from it. But one has to be careful when he draws the line between Beckham the media hungry person and Beckham the United fan.

    @DEVILisRED

    It;s funny because I don’t remember him giving any sort of indication that he wanted to leave the club. When we are talking about “Walking out of Man United”, the definition has Cristiano Ronaldo’s picture. Notwithstanding the circumstances under which he did it, he had signed a new contract just 1 year earlier. If anything, it was Sir Alex who started having issues with Beckham and his lifestyle and that led to the breakdown of their relationship. And it led to the point where they could no longer co exist.

  18. DEVILisRED says:

    juz look at how SAF talks about (in quantity & quality) beckham & ronaldo tell us alot about how they are respected. one have beem upfront & honest about wanting to join his boyhood club (not that i like it) while the others constantly talks about how he devasted he was knowing we wanted him off.
    in Fergie we trust.

  19. Rhystiano says:

    Fuck off Piers you prick

  20. slim says:

    really could not care less about what this twat has to say. ON the flip side though, i love the new look of the site, keep it up scott.

  21. Costas says:

    @DEVILisRED

    But Beckham never planed on going to Madrid. He said that it was a dream to play there, but I doubt that it’s something he felt he had to do. And he never handed a transfer request did he? IMO Fergie did want to sell Beckham that summer. Because if he didn’t, Beckham wouldn’t have left. He wasn’t twisting anyone’s arm to leave the club.

    Not absolving Beckham of the mistakes he made once he let his lifestyle get the best of him. Truthfully, he was no longer the player that Fergie wanted at United. But to suggest that Beckham walked out on us that summer is inaccurate in my opinion.

  22. willierednut says:

    Who gives a fcuk what Piers Morgan has to say, the guy loves the sound of his own voice. @Costas same here mate everytime i make a comment i have to put in my email and username

    All we need is a color filter for the comments

  24. LunG420 says:

    Piers is a cock always has something negative to say about Man United… Does anyone really think Ronaldo would come back?

    Anyone got any links for live streaming today?

  25. Costas says:

    The Joe Cole story won’t go away will it? At this point, no on can say for sure if it’s just a trick to get Chelsea to up their offer or if there’s smoke. But if he was going to come to United, one has to wonder how Fergie would accomodate Nani, Valencia and Cole.

    @willierednut

    Thanks mate. I was asking because I wanted to make sure that my laptop wasn’t playing tricks on me again.

  26. AlphaRS says:

    @Costas
    I think I said I thought the fascists would make a move for Rooney through the media in another post.
    I knew this would happen and it annoys me they are starting to do this now which no doubt will go on now until next season all through the Summer. We all know what happened with their constant pursuit of Ronnie through Marca. Now we have the ex president saying Manchester United will have to sell. Sepp Blatter started complaining when Shitty bid £100 million for Kaka but refuses to to say anything about the fascists since he an honoury member. Surely that kind of title is a conflict of interests!
    I think Ronnie would only come back if he realised that he moved to his dream club and won fcuk all for a few years and wanted to come back. A cheeky £35 million bid would be funny!

  27. DEVILisRED says:

    @Costas
    cheers mate. fair assessment on your part, i respect that.
    but i do remember the summer when we was sold, i was really keeping a close watch on the whole saga. he was one player i really didnt want to see leaves. i believe the club knew he’s planning on leaving (to REAL) thus quickly got the deal to offload him to barca. of cos, beckham manages to correct that & got the moves be wanted. did he regret? i think he did cos i believe he’s indeed a devil fan inside.
    personally, i dont believe he was sold against his wishes. he had wanted to leaves cos the relationship with fergie was quite ackward then. mine assesment probably was more on the emotion side rather than facts i admit. but i stick by my view.
    anyhow, he’s a great lad. really hope to see him back to take on another role.

  28. bchilds says:

    Macheda

    I agree pal, a colour filter between people’s posts would make it a lot easier to look at!

  29. Costas says:

    @DEVILisRED

    I respect your opinion too. I think there’s more to this story than what we will ever know anyway. And I said it last night, that I have no problem with fellow reds feeling like that. And I am happy to debate about the situation with them. But for Morgan to come out and attack a former United player like that, it’s pathetic. I accept Beckham critisism from fellow United fans. Not from this idiot.

    Anyway, here’s the team!

    VDS – Nev, Rio, Vida, Evra – Valencia, Carrick, Fletch, Nani – Rooney, Berba

  30. Costas says:

    AlphaRS

    At least this time they are not wasting any time are they? Shouldn’t Calderon be in jail for corupting their elections anyway? What an honest bloke he is. Anyway, I stand by my opinion that for Rooney it isn’t as simple as offering 80 or 90 million. It’s more complicated.

  31. GoatinaUnitedShirt says:

    All those that say that it wasn’t Beckhams choice to leave United are talking out of their, quite obviously unwipped arses. Are you trying to tell me that Fergusson recognised Beckham as a world class player and decided to sell him. NO, the fact was that the boot incident was because time and time again Beckham wasn’t pulling his weight, went walk abouts all over the fucking pitch, left Gary Neville exposed continuously and thought himself much bigger than the club. Fergusson defends his players, much to some of our annoyence, to the hiltand whatever is said in the dressing room stays in the dressing room. BUT with Beckham it was look at my poor face, look what the evil Scotsman did to me, Fergies gone too far this time. Why couldn’t he come out and say he slipped in the showers picking up the soap that is more probably accurate in this case. Piers Morgan is spot on, Beckham is not even a top footballer and hasn’t been for quite some time. He got too big for his boots, hugged the limelight and personally I couldn’t think of an ego anymore uninteresting than his. Everytime someone scored a goal he would run the length of the pitch be the first to congratulate and the last to leave, if he scored he’d brush off those to celibrate for him to take the applause alone. He wasn’t a team player and I’m glad he was sold when he was. I have respect for what he achieved at the beginning of his career and how he bounced back from 98 but like Piers Morgan said hes not even the in the starting 11 at a mediocre team in a mediocre league but he claims the limelight like hes Ronaldo (who is worth all praise). This time however Beckham made a PR boo boo. I for one want United to be United again, and the problems with the finances to be resolved but when he put that scarf on he allienated a large section of support who don’t agree with the green and gold. If he hadn’t put the scarf on I have no doubt it wouldn’t make a difference to a Green and Gold fan as to whether Beckham supported them or not, but by making a stand hes just destroyed a large chunk of his fan base. Made himself look silly and have started anti Beckham tongues wagging. In PR or politics, the man who stays the longest is the strong minded man who hasn’t burdened himself with a public opinion. Your losing it Becks.

  32. Berbatov is a rolls royce says:

    piers morgan is an odious, fame grabbing, limelight craving cunt. His new TV show is called ‘Piers Morgan on……….’. The only word that would make me watch that programme is ‘Fire’. What a priceless twat he is.

  33. Costas says:

    @GoatinaUnitedShirt

    I respect your opinion on Beckham, You should do the same for those who dont feel the same. It isn’t a black-white situation.

  34. GoatinaUnitedShirt says:

    @Costas
    Didn’t mean to offend mate just putting mine out there. Nothing ever is black and white and we never have all the information at hand. I didn’t mean to offend, I apologise.

    Prediction for today Berbatov to get 2 and back to the top of the league.

  35. LunG420 says:

  36. Brio the Red says:

    C’mon guys,let’s murder em & earn some respect from Murphy & co.

  37. Molly's Chambers says:

    Scholes injured, Corry Evans replacement on bench.

  38. Brio the Red says:

    Nice play btwn fletcher & berba.next time Rooney wil burry the chance.

  39. DEVILisRED says:

    why is the ball looking like an actopus roll into one? fuck me.

  40. bchilds says:

    Not a bad half. The first 30mins or so were a bit of a non-event but the last 10mins we came more into the game. If we get an early goal in the second half we’ll romp home.

  41. Costas says:

    @GoatinaUnitedShirt

    Sure, no problem. I just feel that it’s almost impossible to figure out exactly who was wrong in this. If anyone was.

    Fuck me what an annoying first half! The commentators are giving Nani a hard time. Why doesn’t Fergie switch him and Valencia around? See how that works?

  42. Costas says:

    And who the fuck is this referee? Valencia gets a yellow for an accidental trip on Dempsey and Murphy got nothing for what he did on Evra!

    Not to mention that we should have had at least one penalty!

  43. bchilds says:

    Costas

    I agree with the booking for Valencia, it was purely accidental so a booking was very harsh.

    I don’t agree with the penalty shouts though, neither were anywhere near a penalty as far as I’m concerned. If we play like the did in the last 10mins for the second half we’ll score plenty.

    The first goal today will be the important one.

  44. Costas says:

    @bchilds

    I think the Rooney one was a good shout. Kelly is clearly obstructing him.

    As it’s usually the case with us this season, United are always struggling until we get the first goal. After that, we score more freely. But it’s going to take something better to break Fulham down. They are defending very well.

  45. united.george says:

    fulham tend to score most of their goals in the second half. we need to come out early in 2H and score. the longer the game goes on at 0-0, the harder it will become.

  46. Costas says:

    We need a quick one. If I were Fergie I would switch Valencia and Nani around for the first 10 minutes and see how that works. Come on United!

  47. bchilds says:

    That’s exactly what the doctor ordered!

  48. united.george says:

    Roonneyyyy….did I call that one or what!!

  49. DEVILisRED says:

    rooney score an octopus!!! haha

  50. bchilds says:

    It’s a horrible ball isn’t it!

  51. bchilds says:

    Anyone know if the ‘Sir Fergie FI Govan: Tartan Born & Red’ banner is on display from the East Stand again today or was it up solely for the Milan game?

  52. bchilds says:

    I have a feeling we’re going to have to get 2 to win today.

  53. bchilds says:

    Wazza must have listened!

  54. Dimitar Berbatov is King says:

    Berbatov…thank the gods for his goal.

    Our team is getting the confidence required. Let’s tear Liverpool and Chelsea a new one when we got this form.

  55. GoatinaUnitedShirt says:

    Berbatov man of the match for me, controlled from start to finish. Had a slight nagging in the back of my head when time was running out that Fulham might get something out of this but in the end a decent win. Well done lads. Now the scally scum.

  56. thesavage says:

    Good links Scott, I had to stop reading the Morgan one because the man is one of the vilest, most despicable cunts on the planet.

    Brilliantly controlled second half from United today, Berba played some terrific stuff and I was dead pleased to see him finally get a goal, Rooney’s just a beast at the moment and the overall team played some solid football, hopefully this form continues and we knock seven bells out of the scum and the rent boys.

  57. bchilds says:

    Do you think Berbatov MOTM GoatinaUnitedShirt?

    I’m usually a fan of Berba and stick up for him but I thought he was poor today, he missed countless chances and his passing was sloppy.

    Ok, he got himself a goal and had a part to play in another but Fletcher would get my MOTM vote.

  58. rooney the new king says:

    I thought despite rooneys goals he did not have a great game first half, second he was far better berbatovs assist for rooneys second goal was special but it all helps when you are getting the service unlike last season

  59. AlphaRS says:

    @Costas
    We all know how this will play out with the spanish media tapping up Rooney while Blatter watches on.
    Atleast we won’t expect Rooney to be saying he likes playing in white…! The white of England!

  60. denton davey says:

    bchilds @ 15:27: “I don’t agree with the penalty shouts though, neither were anywhere near a penalty as far as I’m concerned.”

    I don’t disagree with you but, rather, with the YES/NO nature of punishment decisions referees have to make for fouls made inside the box – it would much preferable tor incidents like the two today to be penalized by indirect free kicks from the spot of the infraction. We had one of those (lst year) when Ronaldo zapped it in after Giggs slid the ball sideways to him. It’s always exciting to see the opposition bry to stack the goal-line and watch them flinch when the ball is slammed at them. Basically, on incidents like the ones today the referee’s discretion ends up with being either overly-harsh or overly generous, especially when no real scoring opportunity has been thwarted. Some sort of middle-ground would give the attackers an advantage and not unduly penalize the defenders.

  61. Ashish says:

    That Daily Mail article about Becks is inaccurate.Becks didn’t leave United at the height of his prowess,he was booted out of United by Fergie despite wanting to stay at United.

  62. Scousers Suck says:

    I love the fact that Piers Morgan is calling Becks a self publicist, when Morgan himself will go down as one of most narcissistic journalists today.
    The problem, both with most Becks critics, and even to an extent with you Scott, is that you are looking for an excuse to criticize him. After ten glorious years, some still would like to point to an acrimonious departure. He says he loves United, yet some think he is “sucking up” to the fans. He picked up the green and gold scarf, because he loves United, but yet people look at it as a publicity stunt.
    And from someone like you Scott, who is usually the eternal optimist, agreeing with that low life Piers Morgan is very surprising.

  63. Scott "LUHG" Tasker says:

    Glazers making a mockery of green and gold campaign!!!! Mr glazer has found a massive flaw in the green and gold campaign, the stupidity of a percentage of utd fans!!! The megastore are selling green an gold scarfs and fans are actually buying them with all proceeds going straight into glazers dirty pocket! Even worse, before the game and at half time the fans with green and gold are happy to give glazer some more of their money by buying bevrages from the kiosk….. Once again helping mr glazer out?!?!?! The only way to get rid of the debt creating yank is to not hand him your money…. But there are that many daytrippers it Is impossible!!!

  64. Oooodz says:

    Good post scousers suck, very accurate. Surprised you noticed that cock piers morgan Scott, luckily your news posts are better than your oppinion posts.

  65. Jeet says:

    I was shocked and dimsayed at reading the article on Becks – it was downright libelious, insulting and abusive – name calling at its worst, low-life streetside brawl level. How the British media can be allowed to get away with this sort of writing is something that will always be beyond me. For Christ’s sake, this is a guy who captained the national team, and by all accounts, gave his all for club and country. He may have left Man Utd. for whatever reasons, but so many of us have had to leave, or left of our own accord, something or somebody that we grew to cherish forever afterwards? How does Morgan know that he was faking it? Who gives him the right to downright abuse an ex-national captain in public print? God..I dont know how this is tolerated. I am not British, and I don’t know Piers Morgan or his articles from a doorknob, but he is just a reminder of one of the things that’s sooo wrong with the world – a spiteful underachiever slagging off a hardworking, honest talent just to gain some attention. And that makes me want to hit Piers Morgan over the head with something rather sharp.

  66. 0161-Jon says:

    piers morgan is such a massive, massive cunt.

  67. BC1050 says:

    Just read on marca.com that Ronaldo was complaining about too much “individualism” at Real Madrid and not enough teamwork………………talk about the pot calling the kettle black!

  68. thesavage says:

    0161-Jon, couldn’t agree more, there’s something about Morgan that makes me feel instantly incredibly violent, quite frankly I’d love to smash a hammer in his smug, Tory face, for several hours.

  69. Rollins says:

    Sometimes you suprise me scott. You now agree with that bastard piers morgan because he’s talking thrash about becks?
    Becks might be a model but he is also one of the most professional footballers i’ve ever watched, he gives his all whenever he’s on the pitch.
