  3. RED SAM says:

  4. RED SAM says:

    ghtt
    he is a terry without coke sniffing dad, without the tiny tears,without the character of a cockroach,without the dancing shoes instead of soccer boots………….but then if doesn’t have all that, he ain’t john terry of england u-21 :( me am worried

  5. Xyth says:

    Smalling in will probably mean Vidic out.

    I hope the lad is as good as they say and that he joins us. Fergie is absolutely right to look for English or British talent rather than mercenaries who’d want to leave in few years time.

  6. King Eric says:

    Laters Nemanja.

  7. Your Dad says:

    Smalling will be the new Ronaldo!!one!!1
    lol

  8. King Eric says:

    Great article in the times. It seems that people are now turning against the horrible little bastard. About time too. Greedy cunt.

  9. paddysjumper says:

    i think smalling will be a decent signing , young enough to play a bit part and not complain and hes got the best 2 to learn from , i think its more to the point that with rio’s age and ftness he may be long term cover for him rather than cover for vidic leaving , i dont see that happening at all , after ronnie leaving last year i cant see us losing another top player a second year in a row the papers need to write some bullshit to try upset us , if its not vidic leaving its rooney ?? not a chance , but i am pleased with it and that the lad chose us over a few other teams .

  10. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

    is this smalling thing real
    is he a united player
    because if he is i better start working on a chant
    anyone give me a yes or no on this guy
    has he signed

  11. Costas says:

    Is anyone else worried by how resigned we are to a possible Vidic exit? Call me naive, but I still don’t understand what has happened with him and why we might offload him this summer.

    @GHTT

    Not official yet. Wait until he poses with our shirt. Remember Ramsey?

  12. Xyth says:

    @ghtt
    He has not signed as yet. His current club, Fulham, seems to have accepted a bid from us. I hope this is not another Ramsey in making.

  13. rooney the new king says:

    Costas – I would move vidic on I think its the perfect time to sell him while he has great resale value

  14. Dimitar Berbatov is King says:

    Chris Smalling, sounds good from what soccernet said but I will make my decision once I see it.

    We do seem to be operating on the ‘Arsenal model’ for some reason or another. Hope the Glazers don’t screw us up like those idiots at the dippers.

  15. Costas says:

    @rooney the new king

    I understand that(we can’t afford not to sell players nowdays), but why now? Vidic has at least one good season left in him. His contract runs out in the summer of 2012, so why not sell him one year before that? It’s not like we have a suitable replacement lined up and Rio will be 32 in November.

  16. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

    It looks like this smalling is on according to sky sports news. I might get Emily on to a chant when she gets back from the park, fyck it I’ll tempt faith

  17. Tony Starks says:

    Guys… Regarding Vidic – in normal circumstances I would have no problem with us accepting £20m+ offers for a player who’s heart is elsewhere, but in these circumstances obviously the bulk of the cash will go elsewhere… shame

  18. Gopher Brown says:

    The real question is why we didn’t spot his potential while he was playing for Maidstone. We could have got him for £20k (or whatever he cost Fulham) rather than £7m.

    For a player to suddenly become worth £6.98m in 6 months is ridiculous.

  19. Drew Vader says:

    Why is everyone saying Vidic’s mind is elsewhere? Hasn’t he come out and said multiple times that he is is only thinking of United??

  20. willierednut says:

    @Drew Vader
    Ronaldo said the same things about staying.

  21. manchuchu says:

    Was Bigling not available?

  22. Altonian says:

    Signing confirmed!! Glad that he’s stayed at Fulham, hopefully gets plenty of playing time before the end of the season.

    @Gopher Brown – You can only scout a certain amount of teams / players. I find it highly unlikely that Utd would send scouts to non-league matches. Probably be a one off or one of very few times when a player has gone from Maidstone to a big in such a small amount of time.

  23. Gopher Brown says:

    @Altonian – fair enough.

  24. Gaffer says:

    Work done Scott, and lets hope all friends make this job well accomplished. Superb blog and writer. Bring home the trophies.

  25. jellybean says:

    i know this is a bit late, but where can i get one of those “i cup john terry” tees?
