I’m not massively surprised by the Owen link. I think Fergie is prepared to spend high on a player he feels merits the bid but I don’t see him throwing cash around for the sake of it. He puts a lot of faith, not only in his young players, but in the education passed to them from older members of his squad. Owen is a player I have never liked but for £40k a week and a free transfer I’d say Fergie is considering a punt.
There’s no strikers out there who really fit the bill so it’s not worth throwing 20-25 mill on a stop-gap solution. Owen or Huntelaar (Preferably the latter) would be a decent solution to back-up Rooney & Berb along with blooding Macheda & Welbeck more & more.
I’d rather Fergie spent his money on a central midfield player, not sure who is the only problem but with the scouting system Fergie has at his disposal I’m sure it’s not a problem.
If all else fails; lets get the young guys out there and give them a real go – Da Silvas (Could Fabio be considered for the left-side of midfield?), Possebon, Anderson, Nani, Tosic, Ljajic, Welbeck, Macheda, Eckersley, Petrucci etc etc etc. I know it’s not working for Arsenal but we have our oldies around for another season so why not integrate the young lads while they’re still around.
alright guys, im throwing in one player i think we’ve all forgotten about
and he’s good and full of potential aswell
BEN ARFA!
he wud be cheap, no one wants to sign him and he’d def be willing to sit on the bench!
wat do u think?
Petrucci and kilo play up a storm together
i cant help but feel as though fergie/gill have fucked this up… if fergie was interested in benzema then he should have done a deal with madrid when the price was agreed for ronaldo. i personally believe that we need more bodies in central midfield (de rossi and sneijder anyone?) as well as cover on the left wing (maybe ashley young?) then we shouldn’t need more strikers as long as berbatov and rooney (for once) stay fit with wellbeck and kiko as backup. expect to see much more of welbeck in particular next season… on another the other hand if there is any truth in united going after owen then ive lost all faith in the great man!
Some good news but off topic. Michael Sheilds has been REFUSED a pardon!!!
I see they were taking the piss again on Talkshite tonight. Getting callers to phone in with who United can buy. Cue the usual shite of Darren Anderton etc. They will end up with egg on their faces as usual. Cunts.
If we are looking to the future for a quality midfielder, we should go for the young German boy Ozil. Looks top class..
Hi fellow reds, like the idea about Kacar, and i think we are all happy about Valencia, not so sure about Owen. like jig and most of you said Alex is not going to spend just becouse the cash is there, got to be the right player. And its got to be someone who will pull on the shirt with pride. I remember a player being a hand full last season called Hulk? hope we do get a big name cos this lot over in spain are starting to get on my tits Madrid this, spanish league that
I thought that all through the U-21’s. Ozil looked excellent. He ran the show in the final and I think he got player of the tournament.
Here is the wildest of wildcard signings. Landon Donovan.
just looked at spanish tv, Fabiano, Huntelaar to man utd, cant see it and it changes every half hour over here.
Doherty, good call about Ozil he looked very impressive.
Maby if we go for Aguero, Forlan might come back with him?
