Man Utd News 24/7

Play like we did against Ajax then our Europa campaign ends in North Spain.
Cleverley withdrew from England squad due to ankle injury????
http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/manchester-united-s-tom-cleverley-pulls-out-of-england-squad
Looking at the figures yes the wage bill has gone up but so to has revenue increasing Operating profit making United well inside the FFP rules (when and if they ever come into effect).
Good news is the overall debt down to below £440mill, this debt would cripple the likes of Liverpool who had a much smaller debt and was on the verge of liquidation.
Bad news in six moths £20mill goes on interest payments (at least its tax deuctable).
Staffing went up by 98 that doesn’t come cheap.
I think cleverley is cursed… He’s been suffering with injuries since forever!
I can’t imgaine him out again!!
Although I heard he would be out for 4 weeks
I don’t want to see City in the final. I’d like to see them stumble before that and to lose the league. I don’t want them thinking that they came close to winning anything
Suppose you wanted to invest in a football club. Not just to guarantee yourself a nice seat and to see yourself on tv, but to make money just like with any other investment. You’d probably want a lot more than 10% return on your investment.
Now suppose that you can borrow money for only 2 or 3%.
You would reduce the amount of your investment by increasing the amount of loan. This wold leverage your investment and increase your own rate of return.
Isn’t that risky having to worry about all those debt repayments? Sure, but you’re Manchester United – you get 75,000 spectators every game, you sell shirts, you get tv revenue and people go nuts for you when you tour Asia.
I’d say the Glazers are doing pretty well so far. Oh, and so is the team.
Probably some truth in this supposed ultimatum issued to Poggers.
http://www.clubcall.com/manchester-united/fears-over-pogba-future-grow-1386386.html?
Sign up lad.
Or go.
Pretty simple really.
United>Juventus
Why would pogba choose Juventus there a shower of shit, if he goes its really dissapointing to loose such a talent, it doesnt make sense either as sir alex only said a few weeks ago they expect the deal to be signed and pogba loves it here. fuck knows!
gazzer – The Glazers are doing well; the team has done well; the fans have been screwed. The Glazers have gotten us to buy the club for them.
If Pogba goes it means he just was not good enough for Fergie and for Utd. Who cares if he goes, he hasnt done anything worthy of recognition, only good performances in reserves – Manucho did that and a good cameo against Stoke – Chadwick was much better in his first few games, so was Macheda.
So overhyped.
All this media attention this young kid Pogba is getting is seriously getting on my nerves. Never seen him play, just read that he is a ‘talent’……. If he or is agent is just holding out for more cash then for God’s sake let him piss off. He has no idea how good he has it being at the best club in the world…
I would say go and take the liability Anderson with you, waste of rations.
To those who think he’s overhyped.
He’s not.
He IS that good, comparisons with Chadwick (haha) and even Macheda are way off the mark.
And yes, i’ve been watching him for the last couple of years regularly.
Regardless, if he won’t sign, cheerio then!
It’s in my blood
All I can say to you is the following, reposted from another thread….
Again to the tune of Old MacDonald had a farm
With a wum wum here
A wum wum there
Here wum there wum
Everywhere wum wum
Oh United we love you Ee i ee i oh!
And by the way our Jimmy James is an OT legend
Personally I would have prefered it if a defender or a CM was the cause of the bigger wage bill, but of course, this club has more urgent needs in other areas…
When Cleverley made his first comeback from the ghastly tackle and then got injured again in that very match, i was overwhelmed myself with irritation, not at him, at no one really, maybe the medical staff who are being brought into question far too often of late.
So he’s laid off for weeks after that game. A countdown for his comeback starts, constantly updated by teammates, Fergie and himslef.
Finally Comes back for the Ajax away game, goes through it perfectly despite the flaccid display…… then gets an ANKLE injury in the return leg. Pobably will be laid off for the rest of the season judging by the current trend, and by no fault of his. I see two scenarios here.
-Keep the faulty I-phone and dont buy another phone with the rationale that the phone you have has brilliant functions and will be well worth it when it gets fixed. Meantime you’re missing Phone calls and appointments as a result of the defect. But you figure you cant waste money on a new phone, its just a software problem and can be fixed.
-Keep the Faulty I-phone on the side(because you know you could do with its amazing functions during its healthy spells), but buy a new Iphone in the same mould that has the latest firmware and is less prone to software crashes. So you can use them alternatively.
Point is the “we shouldnt get another attacking/creative/etc player because it will hamper Cleverley’s Progress”-argument loses weight with every passing injury. Great Potential-filled player but his injury record is leaving United in a precarious position. Ferguson says Ryan Shawcross was sold so as not to hamper Pique’s progress but now when he looks back at it he realises it wasnt worth it as if he had looked at the factor of how Spanish players eventually cry for their mummy(Spain),Ryan would have stayed. Surely a Goetze/Ericksen/etc bid wouldnt hurt and would be well worth it. Of course there is the need for a defensive mid and like several on here have said it can be filled from within with Pogba, Phil Jones,Tunnicliffe, etc but the only young attacking,play-linking player we have now is Cleverley, and he’s porcelain right now.
sheppertonni says:
“Why would pogba choose Juventus there a shower of shit, if he goes its really dissapointing to loose such a talent,”
Juve are a good side again with some world class players and a bright future, not that they compare to United of course. Anyway, I’m sure Le Havre were disappointed to lose such a talent to us. This is football and if he stays, great, and if he goes, fine, there will be others
Sad news about Tom Cleverley. Didn’t see a time frame for him coming back either. All the more important that we get Valencia back as the midfield options need help.
I also saw an interview from Nani where he admits a struggle in working his way back from his injury
http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/7542554
In preparation for Ryan Giggs 900th game:
What happened to Ryan Giggs first team:
Les Sealey, Denis Irwin, Mal Donaghy, Gary Pallister, Lee Martin, Clayton Blackmore, Paul Ince, Darren Ferguson, Lee Sharpe, Danny Wallace, Brian McClair, Russell Beardsmore, Ryan Giggs
Still shocked and saddened about Danny and his fight with multiple sclerosis.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/mar/01/whatever-happened-ryan-giggs-manchester-united
Not Suprised Fergie has given pogba an ultimatum. messing the club and the fans about. You either want to say or not. He probably has signed for juve though, that rumour won’t go away.
I guess we’ll have to find and develop other talents. Petrucci can be just as good as him. lingard, larnell cole can step up.
Pogba is overated, just because you score a few goals and put in a good shift for the reserves doesnt make you worldclass, there have been many players in the past like that (Manucho, Macheda, Dong). IF he was that good he would have started against Ajax, Crystal Palace and all them other teams when there was a midfield crisis instead of getting pensioner Scholes back.
He plays one game/a few minutes against Stoke and suddenly hes holding the club hostage.
Welbeck made his debut against Stoke and scored a cracker, you didnt see him whinging about a new contract, similar for Hernandez and both twins.
The media has given Pogba and his agent the opportunity to hold the club to ransom and exploit the gap that some players that have left have become greats.
Like Fergie said, the physical attributes of a player doesnt always get looked when promoting a player but the mental aspect does.
@RedHound
You definitely keep the faulty I-phone, but you make sure you get a better service team in case it breaks down. Leave any device in the hands of this particular team for too long and they’ll develop problems for the rest of their existence. Look how long it took Gibson to get injured at Everton. Likewise for Brown and O’Shea at Sunderland.
Guardian has a list of the 141 team mates that have appeared with RyanGiggs since his debut.

@FletchTHEMAN ..Not only sad about Danny Wallace but the untimely death of Les Sealy .He was such a top bloke may he Rest in Peace ..
Costas – blaming the medical staffs for all these is perplexing. There is so much they can do and i’m sure their intentions aren’t to make injury situations much worse than they already are and i doubt united would employ incompetent medical staffs.
I think we should be honest and admit cleverly is another injury prone player. He has broken down at every club he’s been at before he returned. “niggling minor ankle injury” and he’s out for four months. I’m sure the time he was given to recover is long enough, i don’t think they rushed him back. He plays 60 mins in one game and then plays another yesterday, looked like he was struggling for fitness and now he’s out yet again. That’s season probably written off then.
I don’t know why united are clutching onto a tiny thread of hope that cleverly would carry that united midfield this season. I’ve mentioned the lack of squad depth and overall quality in central midfield.
I think it’s time united cut their losses and ship anderson out. When fit and on the pitch, he rarely ever looks consistent or dominant, he always looks overweight which points to a lack of professionalism. rarely stays fit as wel.
We’ve got no one to step in when michael carrick needs a break. Giggs can always roll back the years but he can’t be racking up games anymore. Scholes is brilliant at controlling a game as ever but he too can’t or shouldn’t racking up games either.
As good a potential cleverly has (still has a long way to go before he becomes a great midfielder and staying fit should be his first mission) We are over relying on a player who just recently returned from a loan spell, it really is worrying.
The midfield should have been a priority but i’m not saying something others haven’t banged on about.
http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/paul-pogba-needs-to-prove-himself-to-manchester-united-not-the-ot
Tom is ok just a slight Knock . SAF.,
Off topic, but thought i would post this as i have saw people call Madrid a “virus” on this fourm
In the year 1958, Real Madrid C.F. were crowned champions of Europe. But Madrid won a lot more that year, something which is precious and yet invaluable – dey won”Respect”frm da whole world. Madrid poured out goodwill like nonecould imagine in today’s mad and self-centered world. Real asked for the trophy in 1958 to be awarded to Manchester United after the Munich disaster. This however, was understandably refused by the Old Trafford club. Madrid dedicated the trophy to Manchester United and more to the Busby Babes. Madrid thenoffered holidays in Spain to all the players in a bid to help them recover from the mental trauma. To help United tide over their financial woes, Bernabeu even agreed to play friendlies with them, at half their rate. Real fielded strong sides, so as to attract maximum crowds, and alsohelped United in developing by playing against strong European opposition. The Blancos were at their philanthropic best, as they even offered United the legendary Puskas, but United couldn’t sign him due to some absurd FA ruling against non-English speaking players. Di Stefano was also offered for a season- long loan (probably) but United had to turn down the gesture, as they weren’t in a position to affordhis wages. The level of respect was enormous between the two clubs. It’s seemingly hard to fathom such deep rooted sense of responsibility for a rival club in the present day scenario, and it’s surreal.
I’m no fool to do your dirty work, oh yeah! I don’t wanna do your dirty work no more!
thank your lucky stars ajax dont have a real striker and lodiero got tired. bilboa should prove a sterner test.
http://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features/Football-News/2012/Feb/tom-cleverley-sent-for-scan.aspx
Clevs has picked up a knock. Not too serious, according to Fergie.
ricky don’t think it’s anything to do with Pogba being overrated or holding the club to ransom just changing times, money has become the num 1 priority for most players so if another club is offering more it’s up to Utd to match that’s how free agency works.Think we have to be realistic playing for the badge instead of the paycheck is becoming a thing of the past.City have proven most players don’t give a fuck were they play if the wages are high enough
Against Everton his injury was supposedly not serious too, and he ended up on the sidelines for months. Going to take the latest statement with a pinch of salt unless he’s back in the team quickly.
Tom Cleverley to undergo foot scan http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/manchester-united-midfielder-tom-cleverley-faces-anxious-wait-over-scan-7440451.html
singh7 Well said mate regarding Sealy. Really top lad to be around and sensible interviews.
RedHound – did you just compared T.C. with an i-Phone? HAHAHHAHAHA – love it!
I think questions need to be asked of our Medical Team. Why do we get so many injuries per season is beyond me. I think someone did an analysis about this a few months back and it is fucking scary.
Don’t know if it has been said, but if not.
Happy Birthday Dennis Law !
72 yrs young today.
404 Appearances
237 Goals.
2nd All time in goals for United
Verified Legend
Cleverley is injured again? I mean WTF is going on with the players and injuries?
Now to more brighter news. United legend Dennis Law’s Birthday today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DENNIS LAW.
i don’t get how anyone can blame the medical staffs. I don’t think anyone of us have concrete evidence that they only are at fault. Are they supposed to have magical healing powers for injuries?
Well what a surprise my brother turned up and took me to the game yesterday
It was so unexpected – it would have been nice had he given me some notice would have loved to finally caught up with everyone!
Alas it wasn’t to be – I thought De Gea was outstanding but the midfield was all over the place – I know why – everyone was coming back from injury so it was expected – hope TC is okay
We lost but are through but United will have to play better and I hope they will
Fair play to Ajax and there fans but at times Ajax fans were pathetic with chants of ‘Suarez’ – it was all game play until they screamed ‘Suarez’ and booed Danny Welbeck when he came on.
Fucking cunts – sorry fucking racist cunts – if thats how you want to play then Anfailed was down the road as they say.
Anyway to anyone that was at the game I hope to see you guys one day – and to those that were on TV apparently me and my brother were caught on TV – we were sitting in the front of the SAF stand very N43 1404 AA row 241 and 242

At least we are through
samuel – Spot on about the medical team.
Costas – Hello mate. Honestly pal I see your frustration with the medical team but WHY would Fergie keep them if they were shit? These are just part and parcel. Maybe the training is too intense. You cant tell me they are responsible for Gibbo, O’She and Brown getting injured at their new clubs? Come on mate! How quick did they get Tony V back after his horrendous ankle break?
Jamesy – Sat beside a fat bloke? That’s not a nice way to talk about Jo Brand.
MG
You were at OT last night? You should have said, me and M19ke were in Platts.
I’m sorry you were in the SAF stand.
James – Oi! Nowt wrong with SAF Stand mate! Well……………………………… apart from being fucking silent.
Willie
Yes and getting crushed every time the coach turned a corner. It was Murder going over Woodhead with a full bladder.
Seriously Cleverley injured again. But what makes me fumming is that he would’ve missed the game either way.
He has a fucking meeting with his PR-Agents for his brand TC23?!
Who the fuck does he think he is. He should concentrate on staying fit instead thinking about a brand without having reached anything so far.
King Eric
Did Alex go?
Just realized we’re not on the box Sunday? Forgot about Arsenal, spuds. Kick off same time. Always the Internet, I suppose. Great weekend would be like this? Blackburn get a point(Pipe dream) United win. Cardiff pull off a shock at Wembley. Heres hoping!
Er I was shouting my head off all evening!
United! United! United!

Yeh I saw. Told you its Willie’s spoons syndrome.
The 2 games with AJAX I saw with the GOLTV commentators. The guy who does all the Barca and Real games the last 7 years I have watched GOLTV. He spoke of Rooney like a Xavi or Swienstiger. Putting him just behind CR7 and a little further back to Messi. As he is the 3rd to 6th best player on the planet.
He gave the business to Berba, called him lazy, should be the first to be subbed, looked as if he cared less to be on the pitch ect. ect.
High Wolfie, it is an honor to root for this club!
I love the way Jones came into the game when he was moved to MF!!!!! I see greatness there for the lad. Pogba sees it too.
New thread up fellas…..
My Dick
Get well soon my friend
The Twins played 90 mins.
Danny changed the game when he came on.

James. Yes mate the lunatic Alex WAS there calling my old man the platinum playboy! Nutcase.
@Samuel
The reason why I’d blame the medical team for Cleverley’s injury is because it’s the 2nd time he’s suffered a recurrence of the same injury 2 games after he came back. Obviously they haven’t done something right. If it was a new injury each time, I’d start blaming Tom for being injury prone. But that’s not the case here. He played 35 league games for Watford and 25 league games for Wigan. So he’s been pretty fit before this season. Of course for all we know, this injury could be milked just to keep Tom away
@King Eric
Hi mate. Right above I explained why I’d blame the medical team for Tom’s injury. Like I’ve said before. I don’t blame injuries on them, unless a player gets the same injury over and over. As for why Sir Alex hasn’t changed his medical team so far, I can’t answer that. A lot of things around his stuff don’t impress me anymore mate. Looking at how the team defends (in general and set pieces in particular) and at how mediocre our attacking set pieces are, I’d say Fergie’s man management is the one thing getting us through the season (as well as the last 3). Because in terms of preparation at Carrington, things haven’t been the same since Quieroz left. So my humble opinion is that Fergie realizes that he’s close to the end of his reign at OT and doesn’t want to take any chances by bringing in new people to work around him anymore.
You are right about Valencia, but for me, that was all his own work. It’s like practicing set pieces. You leave it to Renee and Phelan to teach you the basics and you end up taking them like Young and Nani. You practice them on your own and at your own time? You end up as deadly as Beckham and Ronaldo.
Regarding Gibson, Brown and O’Shea (and you could add Saha to that list), I just mentioned them because their injury problems started at OT. Granted Brown has dealt with them all his career, but the other 2 have had ana larming amount of injuries in their last years at OT. And now they reached the point where they are injury prone. And just to conclude with an observation. Nani became the 3rd United player this season to get his injury checked out by a foreign doctor.
Onto more important issues, I hope your son is doing better.
Devil310 … ’twas me who did a detailed analysis of our injuries over the last 10 seasons, copared to Shitty, the dippers, le arse, the rent boys and spurs. I subsequently did another, much more detailed one, where I actually counted the number of competitive matches played by each of those clubs in each season, so that I could analyse injury-rates-per-match. I did this because after my first report, some people rightly said the plain injuries-per-season stats don’t tell a proper story, unless you take into account the number of matches. Especially since United play in so many competitions. Finally, I also noted how well we did in each season, in terms of silverware.
I wrote that second article in a hurry and Scot chose not to publish it for whatever reason (no complaints here, that’s his right; I am only telling you this to explain why you didn’t see the secone report, with its updated and additional data). That second report showed that this has been our worst season, in terms of overall injuries and injuries per match, and one of the 2 or 3 worst of any of those clubs in 10 years.
But it also showed something else interesting: there’s no obvious connection between injury rates and success. We have done well in some years with high injury rates, and done not so well in years with low or average injury rates. One possible explanation for that is good old United spirit. It shouldn’t surprise anyone here that a champion team is able to overcome adversity.
Oh, and the data showed very clearly that in terms of average injury rates, we are about middle of the pack. The worst, by far, was Arsenal.
Gazzer 11:54- city will now win anything though they may have purchased a cup by the end of the season .
