  1. Costas says:

Yeah, wrong decision by Bento for Ronaldo to go on last.

As for Capello, sour grapes much?

  2. parryheid says:

So another one bites the dust without getting a kick off the ball for the first team. What’s the point of the Academy we have Two players now in an area we desperately needed re inforcing ie midfield Eikrem is the other and playing well for Ollies team and Norwood is a handy player as well.Baffling.

  3. inhouser says:

Ronaldo wanted to be the Hero…to win the game with his penalty…He tries too hard to be a hero…love what he did at united but he puts a lot of pressure on himself to be the best player in the world…

  4. samuel - united WE stand says:

How the fuck is he trying to be a hero when it’s has been mentioned countless of times that his manager told him to take the fifth penalty?

  5. Bob says:

So bummed for Portugal, really deserved to go through… :(

  6. samuel - united WE stand says:

Norwood and eikrem are sold because FERGIE clearly didn’t see them really becoming first team players at united. norwood was offered a year deal, that was his chance to prove he can step up to the highest level but he clearly doesn’t believe he can do it. Not all younger players will make it, get on with it.

  7. samuel - united WE stand says:

england would be lucky to possess a player with Ronaldo’s mentality. He’s will to win and strive for the highest accolades is incredible. Tries too hard to be the best? well at least he doesn’t accept mediocrity.

  8. dannysoya LOVES SIAN MASSEY says:

concerning youth players. We really should give tunnicliffe and Will Keane some more games at the tope level. At least let them start the league cup games or something. If they are no starting then loan them out to clubs where they will get regular first team ball so that they can gain some experience like Welbeck and Cleverley. They are becoming too good for the reserves.

On the Ronaldo Issue. I felt he should have taken the first one but hey if his coach says he should take the last one then who is he to disbey orders? He’s a fantastic player and still deserves the Balon D’or in my mind.

On Nani. I really hope we find a way to extend his contract to another four years. Her is a fantastic player. Why on earth we are trying to RAISE the price for J.rod when our 30 million pound bid has been rejected is a mystery. How about using that money to get a legit midfielder in. I think we can get Wes Sneijder for under 25 million now, We can look into that too.

  9. Cyril Sneer says:

Youse could also read my latest Agent of Fergie episode…

    http://www.agentoffergie.com/2012/06/playmates-part-one.html

  10. kanchelskis says:

    @dannysoya

Will Keane won’t be doing anything for a long while, either at Utd or on loan.

  11. tomDAbomb says:

ronaldo is wank. he had one good season at OT the rest he just sulked. ashley cole had him in his back pocket in every game. Does everyone forget he missed his penna in moskow. Real madrid biggest mugs in world paying 80mill for him the dick heads.

  12. Jeet says:

Could you imagine Portugal losing yesterday if they had Rooney leading the line instead of the godawful Almeida?

  13. dannysoya LOVES SIAN MASSEY says:

@kanchelskis I realized it as I pressed “submit my comment”. I know he suffered a horrific injury and I wish him all the best but all the same when he comes back he should get some games in the league cup.

  14. Harish says:

Will keane is out for a season. Poor fellow. Have high hopes.

  15. Balaji Sivaraman says:

Ballon D’Or and Ronaldo. You’re having a laugh.

I heard they’re planning to rename it “Catalonia D’Or”. Seriously, they’re going to wank over either Messi or one of the Barca/Spanish players. Clearly, in their eyes no one else is good enough. Otherwise, Wesley Sneijder should’ve cakewalked the award in 2010 when he did everything right apart from losing in the WC final.

So, fuck them, Ronaldo doesn’t need the Ballon D’Or to prove he is in the same league as Messi. As my man James Carter would say, “Why don’t ya all, take that award, and shove it yo ass? All up yo ass!”

  16. Cyril Sneer says:

The stories about a rejected £30m bid for James Rodriguez are bullshit. It comes from an article in the Daily Fail where they claimed it had been “Widly reported in the Portuguese press”.

It turns out that only one newspaper mentioned anything abour United and Rodriguez, where basically the reporter speculated that he had heard Rodriguez has a 40m euro release clause and that any offer coming in would have to be near that mark.

All in all, it’s crap reporting from the Daily Fail based on a single mis-quoted opinion by a reporter speculating in Portugal.

  17. samuel - united WE stand says:

FERGIE will start them when he deems them ready to take the leap into the top level. Will keane has a serious long term injury, i worry more about his development not being affected and hoping he returns in good state. Looks Tunnicliffe will be kept and will be given chances but again it’s a gamble and if he steps up then FERGIE will trust him but no guarantees.

People keep saying Ronaldo should have taken this penalty and that penalty but his record at shoot-outs in the biggest games isn’t up to scratch, maybe if he stepped up, it’s likely he’d have had his shot saved, penalty is lottery, albeit an unforgiving one.

  18. Harish says:

    Jeet

I said the same thing other day if rooney started for spain or Germany he would have scored bundle of goals. Same with portugal. Look at the way rooney plays for Manchester united. England needs good midfielders if they want rooney to score goals.

  19. mara says:

I saw Nani playing yesterday…he played perfect…he was dribble like Ronaldo…i have no words. I wouldnt sell him. He is good, very good.

  20. parryheid says:

    Samuel-united We stand.

Not all younger player will make it get on with it.Fully aware not all,how about some? Seems if Giggs was in the Academy he wouldn’t get first team football either.Or how can you write someone of who doesn’t get Any first team time whatsoever and yet your club is trawling rival clubs to pick and play people younger or on a par with your age.As a matter of interest how many do get brought through into the team Evan’s and ?

  21. King Eric says:

parry – Evans and Cleverley and Welbeck. Three right there.

  22. WillieRedNut says:

Becks doesn’t make the Olympic GB football team. Giggsy did, though!

  23. samuel - united WE stand says:

Parry – united are different to other clubs, FERGIE won’t throw players in at the deep end if he doesn’t think they’re ready. These younger players have to be patient and have belief in their ability because class will eventually shine. FERGIE is known for taking risks and they will get a chance and with those chances, they have to show they’re capable of making the step up by showcasing quality and temperament. Younger players have to be patient and believe in their ability and have the right mentality, not many are these days.

Despite all the money spent on developing youth, only a few players still make it because like other aspects of football, it’s a risk taken.

  24. Costas says:

Not everyone will make it, but it would have been nice if we saw how well Eikrem, Norwood, Pogba and Morrison (and Fryers by the looks of it) would have coped in a red shirt before they were sold. Starting to notice a pattern here…

  25. Costas says:

    @Willie

    Did Heskey make it? :)

  26. samuel - united WE stand says:

All the young players made their choice and are leaving due to different circumstances. It becomes desperation when you’re forcing young players into a team when the manager doesn’t think they have the quality to step up or the temperament. If they leave or have left then the club moves on and another circle starts. Out of all youth players, only 1 out of 10 or 20 will become exceptional or world class, the rest will be squad or average players.

  27. Cyril Sneer says:

The over-age Team GB players are going to be Giggs, Richards and Bellamy.

    Sorry Heskey fans :(

  28. Balaji Sivaraman says:

I’ve said it, and I’ll say it again. Sir Alex doesn’t ignore youth players for no reason. If he chose not to play each one of those players, then it will be with proper justification. Like I said, Pogba couldn’t have been introduced into an already unstable setup, which is what we had going last season. That is something I’ve never seen Sir Alex do. He tries his best to get in young players when the going is smooth and they can gain a lot of experience.

On the topic of the decision, maybe you and I don’t agree with it, that’s for sure. I don’t agree with a lot of his decisions. Hell, maybe the players themselves think they can. However, I respect Sir Alex’s decision-making. He’s got it right more often than he’s got it wrong. I know that one of these decisions “could” be wrong and one of these players may turn into the next coming of Jesus. But so could any of those awesome talents we already have in our setup – Tunnicliffe, Cole, Keane Bros, Lingard, Petrucci etc. And if they also move on, it will be with good justification from Sir Alex’s perspective.

Also, I just think the youth in the world as a whole is getting more and more impatient. This is amplified in football but is applicable to all walks of life as well. You’re offered a shitload of money at another place with no real guarantee of football or trophies, then these players just jump the gun taking the bait. The quick money makes them a star and famous, and his agent pockets a nice sum in the process. More careers are ruined this way these days than through injuries. In reality, it is all really sad.

  29. WillieRedNut says:

Costas – He did not! Nor Crouchy… ;)

  30. Costas says:

    @Cyril

Micah Richards? Lol.I still don’t understand how he didn’t make Hodgson’s squad.

    Is Tom in the squad?

  31. Costas says:

    @Willie

    Damn. :)

Good for Giggsy though! Finally plays in his first major international tournament. ;)

  32. Cyril Sneer says:

@Costas – The full squad hasn’t been announced yet. The papers are just going a bit mad because Becks didn’t make the cut yet he was involved in the Olympic bid. Either that or because he’s a big-time celebrity that they don’t get to report on much these days.

  33. Costas says:

Thanks Cyril. After all his efforts, it is unfortunate for Becks, but if the choice was between him and Giggs, imo it was a no brainer. It’s not a Euro or a World Cup, but Giggs had to play at least once in a major summer competition. And he’s not that bad for a 38/39 year old either. ;)

  34. Jeet says:

Honestly I dont care who wins tonight – just want someone to get into the final and smash Los Bastardos….else we will all drown in a tidal wave of jizz….oh, well Cedars can always do a Noah and take us to The Promised Land ;)

So far this has been a rotten year, I’ve been calling it Year of the Cunt – I hope the Mayans were wrong…

  35. Balaji Sivaraman says:

Jeet, Year of the Cunt is absolutely right. Let’s take a look at the specimens, shall we?

English Premier League – Manchester City
    Champions League – Chelsea
NBA – Miami Heat (Lebron James is IMO a very big cunt on the court)
Euro 2012 – If Spain win this, then there you go!
And no offense to Kolkata fans, but Shahrukh’s antics means we can add Kolkata Knight Riders’ victory in the IPL to the list as well.

Seriously, if Spain win this one, then we might as well pack our bags and go the nuclear bunkers and prepare for Fallout, because the Mayans might just be frickin right.

  36. kanchelskis says:

Barca have signed Alba. There goes that little pipe dream.

  37. chiko_mufc_mondlane says:

Good afternoon reds, its a beautiful day!!!

I’m really disappointed about last nights result, the referee favored the spanish cunts
In the first half he gave countless decision out of his ass, nani being fouled numerous times and not blowing d freaking whistle

Ronaldo not taking the pen was weird……..

  38. kanchelskis says:

About £11m equivalent, for those wondering. Pssshhhh. How to they do it? How do English teams pay such a premium for English players, yet Spanish teams dealing with each other seem to trade solely in peanuts.

  39. chiko_mufc_mondlane says:

    Any modric news!!!

  40. slim says:

Ronaldo won’t win the balon d’or because they’ve been a few better than him . past night was a good opportunity improve his chances. too bad he decided to be a team player when individuals were needed. oh the irony

  41. WillieRedNut says:

Kanchelskis – There was a clause written into his contract if Barcelona came calling he could go for that price. Similar to the one Rene Alder had, if United had wanted to sign him.

  42. Jeet says:

    Jessica or Jordi? ;)

  43. Balaji Sivaraman says:

I’d take the former over the latter any day of the week.

  44. Jeet says:

Me too, mate – I’d play her in the hole… ;)

  45. Jeet says:

…and Jordi can be left back for all I care

  46. Jeet says:

King Eric – to be fair, even though I disagree with assertions on the lines of Kagawa being Plan B, the last paragraph makes a lot of sense.

“They do not need a sugar daddy – their revenues are quite extraordinary – but the enormous strain of the debt is a noose around the club’s neck. And without investment, there is a real risk that City will pull away as the leading team in English football in the coming years.”

  47. Balaji Sivaraman says:

Jeet, I quite don’t see how that’s possible. People are only looking at the short term and that’s a bad thing. In the past few years, our debt has almost halved. And in the next few years, we are going to be a debt free club. Now, in no way, am I saying that the way United’s money has been used to clear off someone else’s debt is a good thing. It possibly can’t be. However, we’ve had the debt for some time now and we are on our way to clearing it. It is going to happen in the next few years.

If that happens, we are going to be the richest football club in the world with no debt and with all our profits being used how we please. That is going to be an enormous bonus. The thought of a debt-free United with full reins over our money is salivating because we are the most valuable brand in football. Simple as.

In contrast, all City have is a billionaire owner who can spend whatever he wants. Now, he may not lose interest and he may never stop having money to spend. But still they don’t have anything else. A million things could go wrong. And they are arguably the worst administered club in football, right up there with Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid. They don’t have a youth system. They don’t have brand value. They don’t have self-sustenance.

What people are saying is applicable maybe to the next couple of years? As we try to clear our debts, we are going to be more than ever dependent on the genius of one man to keep our room brimming with trophies. But largely, his departure (hope it doesn’t happen) is going to coincide with United becoming completely debt-free. I’d rather have the Glazers owning a debt-free United than somebody like Sheikh who is going to treat as a toy to be played with.

Just my two (or more) cents on this whole City will overtake United, it’s bad for us, issue!

  48. Jeet says:

Balaji – I don’t see the debt’s being cleared before 2017 or so, not quite 2-3 years. The assertion is not that “City WILL pull away and dominate for a century”, but “…there’s a risk”. I don’t see quite how we can deny the risk, to do that would be to be in denial, if you ask me.

  56. wayne says:

What frustrates me is reporters never look at the other side of the coin,I’ll argue that teams like City and Chelsea are ruining football by over paying for players and lose millions every year while Utd maintain a wage structure of around 50 percent which has been in place for years
Reporters never cover that angle always Utd can’t compete its headline grabbing rubbish and what about the fucking Fair Play rules why don’t some reporters report on this and how it will effect City and Chelsea

  57. kanchelskis says:

    Any sign of jay4manutd?
