Seems strange the agent is talking on behalf of the club. You would think he might make comment on personal terms but not the transfer fee. That would be up to the clubs to agree a deal then talk terms with the agent.

Everything you here in the press is just guess work based on generalised comments made in interviews by people around the clubs, who themselves know nothing. Some great players played for the club under his management. We had the best midfield around under him. Robson, Murhen, Mosses and Wilkins. We could do with one or two of them now.

Cherry, I know the agent is privy to what is happening but to actually come out and say “you wont get him unless you meet the clubs valuation” is medling in club matters. What if Sao Paulo want to accept 26m but the agent wants the price to go to 30m becuase Moura gets 20% of transfer fee (which I believe is the agents cut). So 20% of 26m or 20% of 30m?
Also after 1st August the cut increases to 30%. Looks like it might be the agent fucking everything up and we know how much respect SAF has for agents.
I reckon we will walk away from this transfer.

A big investor someone with experience and wants to make money surely wouldnt put their money in a dividendless stock. Whats in it for them. If they are taken the route of just investing in the club then they should appeal to the fans. Unless they already have a buyer and this is just a rouse of turning one form of debt into another.
I have some money but a tentative jump into the stock market with an initial £1000 doesnt feel like much if you only get 3 shares.

FERGIE has mostly signed players on the brink of stardom. Kagawa and powell are exactly that. Some people look at these signings and are not inspired. Fair enough but i can see the overall bigger picture. Powell will step up this season, starting a journey towards being a top class central midfielder. He’s got everything, he’ll just need time and encouragement. Kagawa is technically outstanding. He’s aware of space, his passing are accurate and decisive, his vision and movements will bamboozle opponents. United have signed quality players and there are already outstanding younger players from the club who will step up this season add that to some players who are willing to re-ignite their careers. Patience and optimism is what is required.

Lucas’s agent is full of shite. Its cat-and-mouse stuff, I’d say. I still think we get him. Sao Paulo owns 80% of the players rights, but on Aug 1st, that drops to 10%. So the club has all the motivation in the world to get something done in the next 7 days. I’m sure United knows this, so they have little reason to raise their offer unless other clubs getting involved. But, in any case, its not really up to the agent. And, until I see something from Sao Paulo or United, I’d say this is not over.
kanchelskis – that is numbers, and if we count smallen he is out for 10 weeks, Rio’s age, and he has a habbet of getting injured, jones has not even cemented a position yet, while vidic lets let the guy settle in. I wish I could say my knowledge of MUFC is as good as everybody elses but unless we have a fan questionaire I doubt theres any real method of proving who knows most. I learn new stuff all the time that I hope most people do. Your right Im not going to play eco-social politics of Manchester and my flat cap whippet stance is a legacy of many years watching and caring for United but always having my fair share of said people living in the past breathing my air. United is moving forward. The boss has more than enough money to spend its just we in many possitions at the moment are at a crossroads and you spend wisely to get out of it.
Id like to remind people that Manchester City and all their billions didnt do that well in the champions league last season. I cannot see Manchester City replicated last seasons early form as they are now the team that everyone wants to beat. What you will see is Fergies stringent spending policy in favour of continuity and the promotion of the young will be more than a match for Citys spend spend spend.
I would be more than happy entering the season with what weve got and Im 100% certain we will be within a point of the league at worst and quarter/semi finals of the European Cup at worst.

Hi mate. My 1st favorite was Steve Coppell. Everybody loved him at the time, he used to score vital goals. Remember 1 against Birmingham at Old Trafford they were 1-0 up with a penalty from Gemmill and time was ticking on, nothing would go in then up popped Coppell and slid one in. 1-1 FT, the Stretford end went mad.
My all time favorite is of course Cantona. But there are so many who have done enough to be up there.

I loved seeing RVN play as well mate…his goal instinct was second to none…Just look at his record in the league for us 150 odd goals in 219 games…! and not only that just look at his overall stats for the champions league – i think his ratio of goals to games in the best ever in the Champions League even better than Raul or some of the others….Maybe Costas can back me up on this.
Again as much as we would all love to, I dont think Hernandez will ever be as good as Van the Man. He had everything as a striker – touch, poise, hold-up play, passing, movement and could even run at players and score from outside the box. His technique too was just brilliant – remember all the volleys he has scored -against Charlton, against Juventus in pre-season, etc. It’s something you’re born with.
Chicharito’s first touch is generally very poor mate and you cant teach/coach ball control beyond a level – you’ve either got it or you dont. Although his hold up play and passing can improve, I dont think it’ll ever be upto Van the Man’s level. In fact Welbeck’s passing and control is much better and he isn’t even the finished article yet which is why Sir Alex opted to start Welbeck more last term.
Of course that’s not to say Hernandez is a bad player — he has his strengths, his movement and instinct in the box will come in handy in certain games and late on as a sub. I just dont think he’s good enough to start games for us on a regular basis.

I agree It would be very tough for hernandez to be like RVN . But chicho also has the same quality of scoring goals and when I say that I mean being opportunistic. RVN was a great opportunistic. Chicho can also be like that. Flippo inzaghi doesn’t have a great first touch or great ball control but he is one of the best opportunistic I have ever seen play. I think hernandez has lot to offer. He has been here for only two years. He has still a long way to go. I have full faith in him and I believe he could easily score 100 goals for us and become a great player for this club.

Today, I have decided I am NOT going to talk about football at all. I am going to talk about Indian broads and Indian kebabs.

He has the potential to be even more dangerous than Rooney but he has to bulk up and he has to work on his close control and being able to do things with the ball. He gets offside at an ALARMING rate. If people could play the ball into him and he could turn and hold it up and do things with it, he’d be the best striker at this club. Although i think its a bit early to be comparing him to legends of the game like Inzaghi…Inzaghi had a lot more than opportunism my friend—-you need technique and guile to score hundreds of goals in Italy with packed defenses..
As I said, I dont think he’s a bad player…he’s got his strengths like movement and pace and instinct in the box or ‘opportunism’ as you call it. But thats not enough for a top class striker in today’s game. So yes, there will be games where he will be required to poach goals, or late in games when we are bombarding the opposition box…but not a regular starter for me. I’d much prefer to see Welbeck start games, if only the guy can stop the tendency of missing one-on-ones and falling over when through on goal.
Sir Alex said that much himself in a much softer way when he says Welbeck needs to improve his goal-scoring ratio.

I think we people are writing hernandez of very quickly. I think we should give the lad some time. He can score 20+ goals every season if he gets right amount of games.

I have said this for a while that the days of the midfield enforcer are over with a move to more technically gifted midfielders who are able to keep possession of the ball under pressure.
The midfield enforcer has really only been relevant in the Premiership due to the style of play adopted by English teams.
I think SAF mentioned recently that this type of box to box midfield enforcer is no longer required.
On another note I’m really hoping United sign Moura. The more I see of him on YouTube the more I think he could potentially become one of the best players in the World.

No mate, he IS off-side at an alarming rate. Its infuriating at matches because you can see it happening before the balls played. The other thing he needs to eradicate from his game is his wandering back from off-side positions. There were times when we cleared a ball up field last season and the opposition centre backs had all the time in the world because Chico either didn’t challenge, because he’d come back from an off-side position or if ge did he was blown for a free kick. That said, he is an obvious talent and it’s still early days for him.

The doner is not something I particularly like, but it will always have a special place in my heart. A few years back, I landed in helsinki in early march after a back breaking 14 hour journey, heathrow having gone smoke free by then (fuck, fuck, fuck!), and discovered very quickly that I was underclothed for the minus 15 degree climate (the finns were all complaining of global warming though), and that I hardly had enough money to cover my stay there. Hot, spicy doner kebab with mustard on the side was largely responsible for keeping body and soul together.

I dont think anyone is writing Hernandez off…I dont know from where you got that impression mate..
All everybody is saying that he needs to improve a lot to be really world class player…he already has most of the raw materials in place (not all mind you) and he needs to work harder to improve his shortcomings or else he’ll find opportunities harder and harder to come by if Dannyboy can find and keep his scoring boots on.

parryheid – agreed, we don’t have an ‘enforcer’. I’m not sure that we need one, particularly in Europe. These days, players go down easily that an enforcer is likely to earn red-cards regularly.
