Exactly and even if the float doesn’t happen right now it’s hardly a sign of failure, they haven’t even started the potential investor roadshow yet. t’s just waiting for the right time. If the market doesn’t seem to be right why push a float through which will see a lower price achieved, with a float timing is everything.
Floating a football club is all wrong. It’s frying pan into the flames as far as I’m concerned. The Galzers are doing it for all the wrong reasons and in a cack-handed to boot.
BFTT’s article on Ryan Tunnicliffe is spot-on. However, I think he has improved on a lot of his technical aspects as well. His awareness is good and he is able to beat men (albeit inferior footballers) with the ball at his feet and make something out of possession. Those attributes when combined with his natural tenacity and toughness make him exactly the kind of mid-fielder we’ve been screaming out for in Fletcher’s absence.

So is the IPO deffo on hold as last night people were pretty adamant it had been pulled completely. That said, that info came from Andy Green and Drasdo who apparently have differing agenda’s. The reason the Glazers have given for the “pause” is a volatile Market, but reading around the issue there has only ever been a 2% shift since the IPO was filed? Wakey, you seem a lot more clued up than me on finances and I enjoyed reading your posts in response to Matt earlier in the week, does this 2% shift seem like a plausible reason to pause the flotation? I heard also that they’d cancelled an investors roadshow presentation In Asia. This seems strange if they’re pausing to drum up more interest?
In the IPO world companies get put forward pulled back all the time. Great companies, bad companies…any company. For sure not a failure. This Facebook debacle has really tainted the masses on the IPO process.

The ionly way the Glazers will raise enough money through selling shares would be if they aimed the sale at the fans as a long term investment. Selling shares at 100-300 dollars a piece without any voting rights (meaning you cant get the board to discuss any topic including a potential take over) and no dividend payments, then why would the stars of dragons den put their money in United when shares in dogrobobolox gives them a better return.
Make the shares £10 a piece and float them on the London exchange. These shares that they were discussing only have the ability to makes money in the long term. i.e. United now 1.6billion pounds and 20 years maybe 3 billion. They only have an appeal to those that want to own a bit of the club. More chance selling a mass of shares at pocket money prices than hundreds of thousands at xbox prices.

Firstly we don’t know it has been postponed yet for certain so it’s just speculation at this time.
However the 2% drop is just this week and it actually dropped further at close yesterday which included Apple losing over 4% of its value yesterday.
Now 2% doesn’t sound like much but it accounts for a massive amount of money. Its rumoured that 300mill is the target amount so if United had floated last week and made that then a 2% drop would have knocked 6mill off the value in just 2 days.
And the problem is with investors is they are very jumpy and everytime the EuroCrisis throws up another problem it’s throwing world markets into a flux. You need to float between these events when the markets stabilised to get the best price

If the IPO Is on Hold (and it’s a big if) the it has nothing to do with the structure. The structure is perfectly acceptable in the US and won’t put any investor off. If it is on hold it’s simply the general market state as they will want to get the best price possible. There just isn’t much point undervaluing the stake as then it is only the investors who buy at the undervalued price who will benefit

I’ve got an excuse. To add to my woes this year, which include crashing my car, United losing in the most hideous fashion, my car being stolen, booking a holiday to Mexico I didn’t want, being charged overdraft fees due to the cash for the holiday I didn’t want being taken out of my account which didn’t have any money in, finding out I hadn’t paid any gas or electric bills since I moved in my house last year cos some joker at the bank cancelled my direct debit so found out I’m gonna have to pay a wedge to sort out my credit… On top of that I had my MRI scan and it appears I have a bulging disk, which is why my shoulder often feels like its being fed through a mangle… So yeah, not able to do much in the gym! May bring a fake arm next season to do my clapping with! Not been a good year. Haha!

She is in her 80′s and does over 300 royal engagements a year. Sure going and greeting people isnt like working on a building site but I think you are underestimating whats she actually does. On top of that she other duties to carry out and properties which employ vast numbers in the country that she has to have a hand in their management.
And yes much of what they have came from them taking from the masses in the past but thats their ancestors many moons ago not them. It would be like holding all modern day Germans to account for the Nazi’s.
