By the way just read some comments by the Valencia manager that they aren’t ‘scared’ of us anymore – I think a lot of teams will underestimate us this year.. It would be so nice to get a big win on Wednesday.

spot on mate.i think some pressure has been lifted from us.we may also not be favourites for the league title but that will help us play more freely.hope we try to sign david silva though.

I would point out to the guy writing the Red Rants article about poaching….

We have negotiated a deal with the Swedish Club to let Sjoberg go on trial with us…. therefore showing a positive view on the deal.
Therefore this cannot be deemed to be poaching.
Granted….. with Petrucci and Co…… if these players are so valued by the clubs who then go on to complain about the “amazing potential” that has been stolen……why didn’t they do more to keep them???

If offering Petrucci’s dad a groundsman job was as they said one of the key issues to sealing the deal then why didn’t they offer it?

If anyone is to blame for the whole “poaching” claim it is the FA…….

There was a time when clubs could scout all over the country for the best players to add to their academy….. now they have to be within a specified “catchment area”…. the FA are to blame for the foreign influx of players……
Sunderland for example have 60% of their catchment area in the ocean….. people wonder why they buy so many players rather than producing them….. that’s also another reason for West Hams “excellent” academy…… nothing to do with better coaching…. it’s geography…..

    this is no poaching

we are just taking advantage of a flaw in the rules in Italy.is it our fault dont think so.these clubs shoul take the matter more seriously with italian and french Fa and amend the rules

    it is not our fault.

  5. Tony Starks says:

Yeah this geographical restriction thing is so ridiculous, also why don’t the football authorities make a more fairer compensation scheme based on the future success of these players that move at 16?

  6. Micky says:

If teams playing us were only scared because of Ronaldo then I’m glad Ronaldo has gone – I want them to be scared of playing us because we’re a great team and are gonna grease them up and fuck them.

    COME ON UNITED

    last chance for anderson?!?

its no coincidence that andersons form has slipped since hargreaves has been out injured, that first season especially at the dippers and the emirates anderson was outstanding in a united shirt, both games hargreaves was there, playing alongside, doin the dirty work enabling anderson to impose himself on the game with his passing and ball retention.
look at the game at the champs league semi this year, fletcher does the hard work and anderson shines. but when its left up to anderson to do the covering then he falters, champs league final and the scousers at home.
put a defensive midfielder alongside him and he is a much better player..

  13. King Eric says:

Is it just my paranoia or did United get the most negative of pre season write ups in the Guardian? We lack star quality especially in the tougher games in Germany? We are the only team to have won all our games bar one which was a penalty shoot out and we had various players out of positio i.e. Gibbo and Fletch. Just waiting for the ABU machine to get in to full effect. Cunts.

  14. King Eric says:

doncobaino – Great points about Ando. Could not agree more mate. He will be superb for us again this season, just like his first one.

  15. Tony Starks says:

By the way – anyone have thoughts on the morals of this La Havre case? I don’t mean getting youngsters in general, but this particular case.. Am keen to hear what the manager says about this, so far we have really heard their side of the story..

  16. mdubya says:

ando will be fine i’m almost certain. nani…ehhhhhh wait and see approach.

  17. Stephen says:

I am a big Anderson sceptic, will believe it when isee it, you cannot simply say his form has dropped simply because Hargo has been injured.
