Man Utd News 24/7

title race is not over
giggs is just…………no word can describe his greatness
Lewandowski has said no to man utd a few times
just like Sneijder did.
im of the opinion if they say no then ……….balls to them.
prefer players who want to come and play.
off topic
http://www.101greatgoals.com/blog/leaked-see-video-of-manchester-uniteds-2013-2014-away-shirt/
Lewandowski is a good player but i think we don t need another player up front
we will buy a md.i had like to see wanayma in the red shirt
No interest whatsoever in Lewandowski, I reallly don’t get the hype. Good finisher but no pace or fuck all. We don’t need him at United, we have enough strikers. Akin to a Peter Crouch or Dzeko!
I don’t think we were ever in for Lewandowski. It was all newspaper talk. News only sells when United is involved. He is no different to Dzeko, the type of target man that we don’t play with. All our forwards are mobile types
Marq – Precisely mate.
we need a MF destroyer, true CB, and while I’m at it let’s just bring Cristiano home.
@King Eric
Robert Lewandowski is the Polish Peter Crouch? Don’t think you’re wrong on that one.
Can’t understand what’s going on really as we already have RVP 29, Rooney 27, Welbeck 22, Hernandez 24, Macheda 21, and Henriquez 18. We have a good spread of ages with the strikers we have at the club.
Unless United the rumours about Hernandez being unhappy are true and United are looking for a player plus cash payment for ronaldo. Can’t see it myself though.
While I can’t see United buying Lewandowski as we don’t really need him, to compare him to Peter Crouch is a bit harsh. Lewandowski is a class striker and would definitely improve our team.
I agree though, there are other areas of the squad that need reinforcements more urgently than Centre-forward.
I agree with you on Lewandowski, sure hes a good striker, would be a good signing for Dippers, Tottenham and to piss off the gooners, Arsenal as well. But do we need another striker? Even if Chicho did leave (and I hope not) we have the chillian boy, who I think has a bright future ahead.
Question for you Reds, would you like to see CR7 or Bale arrive in the summer?
@ Lee Martins
Yes and yes. I would also like to see Jessica Alba wearing nothing but a pair of heels cooking my morning bacon but that shit ain’t happening either
In fairness, should Nani go (and we spare the 130K/week he’s asking), Bale is the more likely candidate. A Weslh Left Winger? Who knows if someone like that could work out at United
@Ididnotzeeit
I agree with the fantasy question, it is a nice question not really reality.
I would prefer Bale……
Lewandowski is no peter crouch. Thats a quality striker right there
You guys better watch him before the name calling. As good a finisher as hernandez.much better all round game in my opinion. But his experience means he’ll be looking for a starter spot. Nor gonna happen with the cast we got. Glad we on the look out though. RVP will be 31 next year.
@ Lee Martins
I think we’ve got a pretty good thing going in terms of team chemistry, “suqad players”, “superstars” aging veterans and youth, to bring a guy like Ronaldo back into the fold now? Who knows what that does. Top player mind you and would welcome him back with open arms but can’t for the life of me see it happening. Bale however is modestly plausible and I think he’d come with a bit more humility given the fact he’s nay won sweet fuck all in his career. Following in Giggsy’s footsteps, I imagine, would be every bit his “dream move.” Only god knows though, right?
RE: The Sun reports on John Obi Mikel’s claim that the title race is over.
Great Reply and exactly my sentiments about Chelsea whining, but as far as I’m concerned applies to all players.. saying that you’re too tired to play two games a week is ridiculous..
——————–
Gary Cahill said: “Fatigue is starting to play a part.”
“fatigue?? ha your paid £200k a week you shouldn’t feel fatigue try digging 50 holes a day with a spade and back filling with concrete daily like me that’s fatigue”
classic.
Anyone have any first hand views on the fan issues at the U21 match. Not interested in the MUTV coverage as I watched the game and very little came off on that.
Don’t know anything about what happened or didn’t happen. But just for the record it is high time fans stopped singing about Hillsborough as it could have been us. The fans that died were victims, not instigators. Also, tossing flares on the pitch and confronting their player on the pitch? FA is going to come down hard on this if there is any evidence.
Shouldn’t be coming from our fans. Simple as! Hope it was just some simp with no particular allegiance to the club. But probably won’t be that lucky.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2284465/Manchester-United-beat-Liverpool-U21s-flare-smoke-bombs-thrown.html
slim – Hello mate. I HAVE watched him and he is like a tortoise. Slow as fuck. Decent finisher like.
Back to footballing matters:
Madrid is fielding a very strong side tonight v Barcelona:
Diego Lopez; Ramos, Varane, Pepe, Coentrao; Xabi Alonso, Khedira, DiMaria, Ozil, Ronaldo; Higuain
More interested in what the field in the La Liga match on Saturday.
8 days till they play us in the rubber match.
K.E
Haha, ah well. RVN was slow too though but i get your point.
Whats your take on monkey boy?
slim – yes its nice we are on the look out, but let us not forget, ferdinand, vidic, evra, carrick, scholes, fletcher, also need replacing in the next few years, so serious pieces are in need of getting replaced
Re: Robert Lewandowski. Perhaps there is a connection to Chico’s “disatisfaction,” as the media puts it. I’m sure Fergie would want another striker to replace the Mexican if the latter wound up opting to join the virus. After all, it’s all over the media about how Madrid wants Chico, who is supposedly stewing about being left on the bench, especially in big games.
Is it possible all these reports are all b.s.? I know how the media is, but you know what they say about where there’s smoke, there’s fire …
no question this year ronaldo should get world player of the year, messi has been on fire, but ronaldo has stepped it up, and this type of form, with his contract talks breaking down, united cannot miss out on resigning ronaldo, even though he is 28, we will get far more out of him, than signing anyone else
@Lee
Ronaldo 110 %, he’s 28, has played here before, already a legend in my eyes and would tight that status up forever, and will surely provide us even more goals than ever and we would be a even bigger threat than ever.
Bale is great, for me one of the best in PL, he has that Ronaldo style and the directness, though he’s not near him. Wouldn’t mind Bale coming if Ronaldo doesn’t, but our own “Bale” will be Zaha, and he’ll be even a better one, because he’s close control is even better than Bale’s and he’s direct and strong.
I have my trust in Zaha. So meanwhile, Ronaldo could throw those goals and Zaha learn from him. The question would be, if Bale or Ronaldo would come, who is the one to get rid of? I knwo that at first Zaha will get a bit limited gametime, but my thoughts are that if we get this 20th title, SAF will make an even bigger transition so we give more gametime to the kids.
BELIEVE
UNITED!
his**** and not he’s
In david we trust
Oh no doubt. I’d leave the striking department alone and focus on center midfield and defense
Im afraid SAF goes for the celtic lad. Like most on here whe claim we dont need a hard man, im inclined to agree somewhat. What we do need is someone who has ability on the ball, technical player who wont go awol when the rest of the team is attacking. Would have loved the spanish boy bayern picked up last year. To really get the best out of clevs i believe a CM enforcer is needed.
Carrick is doing a damn good job but he really is not a DM, his game is just suited to the role. We dont see alonso playing as the DCM for the virus do we ? Or xavi as the DCM. So we should be grateful for carrick – my United player of the year, and make sure we add some quality in there because carrick is a truly class player. A midfield 3 of carrick, clevs and a suitable DCM and our MF troubles are done and dusted.
If we insist on a 2 man midfield them our wingers need to improve massively or SAF goes out to find one
Oh God please let SAF nor be interested in monkey boy
If I was on trial, and the judge offered me Bale, I’d rather sit with Ronaldo at United.
Thought this was interesting too… A bit of a United fan-bashing.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2284465/Manchester-United-beat-Liverpool-U21s-flare-smoke-bombs-thrown.html?ICO=most_read_module
I feel that Bale is the better purchase: Let me try and make a case for this.
Bale is improving season on season. He is playing in a team which on paper is not even close to the Virus. Based on his form in the last 7 games, he is one of the top 10 players in the world. Carrying Spurs over this period.
His attributes are similar to Ronaldo. Crazy pace, Sledgehammer of a shot and a great work ethic. He is better at defending due to his time at left back.
I agree with a few of the previous posters, Bale has always spoken well and seemed to have a mature head. He does have an ego, but compaired to CR7 not in the same ball park.
Bale would cost less and less in wages (however we would lose out on the commercial benefits that CR7 brings)
He has scored 15 goals in the Prem this season. If he hits 20 then a very good return for a winger for spurs.
CR7 had his time and I think that 80 million was a good return for what we had. He chose RM and now that he is not adored by the Virus even though his skills, goals and ability ae lighting up the world, well I say be careful what you wish for!
Now dont get me wrong, I would be buzzing if we signed him back, but If I had the choice between Bale and CR7 – I would choose Bale future 11!
Feck me Real Madrid 3-0 up at the Camp Nou…!
varane is very good defender, youngster with massive potential. Pity Zidane “stole” him from us.
Barca are having nightmare now. They resort to old habbit. Diving. Diving anywhere & anytime, even the mighty Messi dived too. Hahaha…
@Lee Martins:
U’re not alone pal. I’d pick Bale over Ronaldo. Younger, hungrier & improving. CR7 is a finished article, just like a player with pace & power i think he due to decline in next 2 years. So yess monkey face for me!!
Fuck me, Real looking hot. We need a massive performance against them and De Gea in Godmode!
deary me!
if they play like that against us next week,we r in for a game!
ronny is on fire!!!!!
dafuqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqq ////wen did they start playin so good on the counter?
they will prob do the same to us,sit back, and hit on the break, and with ronny, itll be terrifying!
ps cantona,u r a fuckin clown,bale over ronny?what r u smoking?
ronny at 23 was world player of the year and runnin games and won pfa player of the yr 2wice in a row, scoring over 30 and over 40 2 seasons running…..u jumped on the bale bandwagon aswell?fuk ryt off
hes not even fit to lace his boots
Bale is a quality player, but he is still over priced, for him to be worth over 40 million, he needs to be scoring 40 a season, I would still pay for ronaldo over bale,
Slim – our main prioretys is looking to replace ferdinand vidic carrick scholes giggs and fletcher, we have a bit of an ageing spine, its been a sensational season, but we got to be realistic, the side is in need of a rebuilding process. I do hope we sign a quality CB and CM, that would be a start, and slowly we look to sign a striker, and then perhaps summer 2015 we look to buy another CM
I would like to see El Sharaweey in United…he is fast as tunder…
Barcelona being destroyed at home and looking totally clueless in the process just made me appreciate Fergie and Mourinho more. By far the two best coaches in Football. The best coaches are pragmatic. Football is ALL about pragmatism and adaptation and nobody does adaptation better than Fergie and Mouriunho. If you refuse to adapt like Barcelona then you will not progress and there will be stagnation and that is what is happening to barcelona. Barcelona were down 3-0 and just looked clueless stroking the ball around like they were up 6-0. They don’t know any other way to play. It was hilarious and sad to watch.
For me it’s a no brainer Bale isn’t worth 50 mill + and Ronnie is a far superior player.Plus it’d be a huge statement by Utd re signing Ronnie from Madrid
I hope that Hernandez is happy here, but in one hand, i can t see that he is going to be happy in the future with this kind of minutes he is getting now..
I tell you why Ronaldo 110%
1. He is Ronaldo
2. HE scores when he wants.
3. He’s 28, matured and more composed
4. he is not looking only for glory like he used to.
5. We have Zaha
6. Bale is great, If not Ronaldo, Bale all the way, reminds of a certain legend here
7. If Ronaldo would come, he has 4-5 great years over here and I bet my ass he would score every season over 30 goals.
8. At the time when Ronaldo would be declining if he ever will, Zaha could learn alot from him, and when it’s Zaha time, we would have our next star who has learned from the best.
9. Ask Ronaldo the influence of Ryan Giggs the mighty winger.
10.Ask Zaha after 5-10 years if Ronaldo would be here, the influence of Ronaldo.
basically what I am trying to say is, Ronaldo already has a hoem here, is a powerhouse, will score easily even at his thirties with us over 30 goals, we have Zaha here and the attention would be at Ronaldo, Zaha could develope slowly into our own and a better version of Bale.
But don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t say no to Bale, just that if the option is Ronaldo second best and maybe the best in the world against Bale, well you do the math
peace.
Ticka taka football just got done by good old fashioned counter attack. Like sharpe and Kancheskis, united the true pioneers! lol………. love it!
Zigoo:
no im not clown u idiot. I know CR7 history @UTD. I just think Bale is younger, hungrier & improving player while CR7 is a finished article, has reached his peak with Real & due to decline in next 2-3 years.
U think which one of this better & wiser option? Buy £50 mil 28 y.o. World class player with 2-3 years left or buy 40-50 mil 23 y.o. Potentially world class player with 6-10 years service??
It is understandable that Hernandez is angry with playing time and all that buthis position as a substitute is where he should be. for the following reasons:
1. He just is not as good as Wayne Rooney or Robin van Persie so it should not be that much of a surprise that they start ahead of him every time.
2. He does not work NEARLY as hard as Robin, Rooney or Welbeck when he loses the ball.
3. His hold up play ability is the least of our four strikers. Hernandez is also the only one who cannot play as a lone striker in a 4-5-1. That would just be madness. He needs as much support as possible to be effective.
4. He is perfect as an impact substitute because his sharpness in the box is incredibly vital in the dying minutes of games when defenders are tired hence the reason why majority of his goals have come as an impact substitute.
@weareUnited
All good points buddy, either way I would be happy tbh. Its a good debate which is what this blog is about!
TheCantona I know what you mean and you’re partly correct,
but how are you sure he will decline? And how do you make Ronaldo a finished article when he every time improves his stats and gameplay and destroys Barca more than ever? Not that Barca is the peakpoint of everything, but he’s better every time agains tthem and others also.
I understand you point, and don’t get me wrong, not trying to get into an argument, but to say that he will decline after 2-3years is a huge huge statement, when I personally see him becoming even stronger.
and to get even 4-5 years from Ronnie and then bring youth like Zaha and others is not a bad idea.
Will RVP decline after 2-3 years? I doubt so. They will not be as strong or fast, but look at Giggsy at the age of 33 and now at the age of 39, he also based his game in speed, maybe with a better close control, but he didn’t decline that easily
Anyway, respect your opinion, either way, welcome Ronaldo or welcome Bale
my prefered and logical view is Ronaldo 110%
@Lee
cheers mate! I also think so.
Either way, I would happily welcome both !
Real were impressive tonight but the key was a strong ref who was not having Barca’s diving. Almost gagged watching to be fair, with one player after another going to ground in obvious feigned heart attack.
Besides that, Real play alot like Chelsea did under Maurine. They are a good side, but on our day, we can beat that lot. Really going to be up for this. Imagine they will put out a B team on the weekend and be fresh for us. Should be a game.
There’s no way CR7 could perform like todays form in 3 let alone next 5 years. Every single player who built their game on their speed & power (just like CR7) will due to decline in his early thirties let alone mid thirties…
“The best coaches are pragmatic. Football is ALL about pragmatism and adaptation and nobody does adaptation better than Fergie and Mouriunho. If you refuse to adapt like Barcelona then you will not progress and there will be stagnation and that is what is happening to barcelona.”
Fergie I’ll accept, but not Mourinho. Wow, he’s managed to beat a Barcelona team which doesn’t have a manager. If I remember correctly, in all the many classicos that have been played in the last few years Mourinho hasn’t managed to beat Barcelona at the Bernebeau. With all the talent at his disposal, that’s poor. Christ, they’re 3rd in La Liga. 3rd in a two-horse race.
Mourinho’s philosophy is to disrupt the other team, and for me, that’s why he’ll never be the best. He spoils games, prioritising stopping the other team rather than creating attractive, attacking teams. You say football is all about “pragmatism and adaptation” but surely, at its core, football is a game, to be enjoyed. At it’s core is about JOY and fun. Mourinho is the antithesis of this. Win at all costs. Spend ridiculous amounts but win ugly.
And surely Barcelona are struggling because they don’t have a manager, key players are getting old and surely must be jaded, having won everything. But Mourinho feeds on these scraps and is hailed as a genius: I don’t buy it.
Bale has always been inconsistent, every season he plays well for periods then he’ll disappear. He’s hit his purple patch.
@TheCantona
yes he will decline his speed, and not ne the same like he was at the age of 28.
Muhammad Ali was asked in an interview, before he won that fight against Foreman.
Interwiever: ALI!! They say you are not as fast or as strong a boxer as you were 10 years ago.
Muhammad Ali: You know, your wife called me yesterday, and said you are not the same man you were 10 years ago.
Basically, Ronaldo is up there, when he declines, he will still score, adn by the time he’s getting too old, we wil lhave Zaha or others coming up.
BUT honestly, I can’t see Ronaldo coming back here. So it’s just speculations.
Ha fuck off Barca you cheating cunts. Well played Ronnie and Madrid. As I keep saying Pique is fucking dog shit. Best CB in Europe my arse. As for Alba what a weak cheating cunt. Sides REALLY are working Barca out. Flat track bullies. Despatch shit teams but are coming up short against well drilled disciplined teams. Not being knee jerk but teams go in cycles. Horrible bastards always in the Refs faces.
@wayne:
Yeah suprise, every youngsters does it. Inconsistency is part of youngsters.
He’s at same age with kagawa, smalling, clev, all are player who currently learning their trade at Utd now, mind he’s just one year older than welbeck ffs!
Slim. Ha monkey boy!! Well got to hand it to him at minute mate.
Beside it has been a long time we have a very good left-footed winger since Sir Ryan emerged in 90s.
n David we trust. Hello pal. Replace Vida and Rio? Err Evans, Smalling and Jones! Carrick can go on for another 4 years or more. Not having a pop but I would imagine a manager of Fergie’s experience knows fine well what he needs! You can see right now the next great side is well on its way.
TheCANTONA difference is mate none of the Utd lads have a 50 mill price tag on them.Mate if its a straight choice between Ronnie and Bale its not even close.Ronnie is superior in every aspect imo
3-1 to Madrid thrashing Barca, well well well, Ozil Khidera, Ronnie, Di Maria, they will look to come to OT and do the same on counter attack.
For fuck sake why are folk saying Chicho won’t be happy with game time? He knows the score. It is a SQUAD game. Have you seen him interviewed? He loves United.
WeAreUnited:
i understand ur point mate. I agree CR7 is currently better player than Bale now, i just think CR7 has reached his peak and u know whats next step from it? Downfall or in more moderate word: decline. I just think its a bad investment for a long term. Just remember we’re not club like citeh, chavs or psg who spend fortune without think.
@Wayne:
hey, its part of modern game. Rooney cost United £27 mil as teenage in 2004, no? That was a huge amount of money.
What i mean is Bale is starting to perform consistently week in, week out and he’s not finished article like CR7.
I would rather have Bale than Ronnie, he is more of a team player and winger.
Barca have 6 MF in a game, we will have 6 strikers.
Bale is not in same league as Ronnie but is developing well. Having a good season, let’s see if he can keep it up.
Madrid was scary today, but Barca were also poor. When Messi is off form they struggle.
This was probably a training for what they want to do at United. What is the best way for us to play and hos SAF will set us up only God knows, this will be a very tough tactical game that will likely be decided on who makes the least mistakes and moments of brilliance. Ronnie is a machine.
Barca mustered TWO shots on target at HOME! We could and should have scored 3 away in the Bernabeu
The more I watch Maureen the more it’s clear he has tried to model himself on SAF, that is why he adores him. Now RM are trying to take the counter attacking title from us. They were very patient and good defensively and quick on the break v Barca, their height also made it difficult form Barca gremlins. Khediera and Alonso can play like quarterbacks, kicking it to Ronnie or Di Maria.
I think the key will be sticking Welbeck and Rooney onto Alonso and Khediera and trying to close off service and counter attacks. More pressure on us as we have the league as well and a 2-2 would also send them through.
I am not so sure Barca were poor NBI mate. It seems to be their usual level at present. Milan made them look poor. They struggled Sat night. Again today. The steds must be running out. No plan B or fuck all those cunts.
This also shows Pep was a good coach, with the temp coach they have now their manager is ill Barca are struggling big time, so coaching and strategy was a factor, its not just the genius of the players. I have to say I thought Pique looked poor mans Evans today.
@ King Eric – I am glad to see Barca off their perch, it’s a surprisingly quick and dramatic fall. what do you think is our best option to stop RM at OT, I think we will see pretty much this team sheet.
No plan B (aside diving), no impact sub player either. Barca has been FOUND OUT!!
Hello RoM and all. I have to read and catch up.
So much good stuff STR
I think if we wanted Lewandowski, we would have bought him instead of RVP last summer, there probably was some interest last summer that has started these rumours but I can’t see United in for him, that said, you never know.
I think the buy we missed was Dembele for £5mn, he has also made a difference for Bale and given him the freedom to play.
I just hope Barca glorious era is over soon. Boring gameplay with some softy cunts. Bring back winger & speed at football!
TheCANTONA yes mate but as far as I’m concerned he’s not worth the 50 mill price tag do if its a straight choice next season between Bale and Ronnie it would be madness not to re sign Ronnie.
Fergie was down there in Catalonia watching Madrid.
i want who SAF signs!!!
@ wayne – the one thing I worry about with Ronnie is his games, done he even want to come to OT or just get a better deal at RM? Will be act up if he comes back?
KE Wayne NBI hello all. SAF 4th 5th team looking good!
That was one hell of a lead from Varane for his header. Norwich first then lets see.
The madrid game requires a compact midfield which snuffs out gaps in between the lines, concentration and good solid defending and clinical finishing. United need to stop the suppliers of alonso and khedira, stop Ozil drifting around finding passes to open the defence up. United need fortune as wel, things need to go the club’s way because madrid will get clear-cut chances, united will be under pressure in parts of the game and we need to resist this, have to match them in everything they do and do better. Likelihood is, they will probably score but united have to put themselves in a more advantageous position in terms of the aggregate. Can’t afford to drop deeper and deeper but also can’t go gung-ho and get ripped apart on a devastating counter-attack. It will be a very tough game, fans need to raise the atmosphere and drive the players to give every ounce of effort. No doubt this victory will increase madrid’s confidence but anything can happen in the game, hopefully united come out successful.
For now, norwich is next and have to do everything to get the points, won’t be easy.
Hey Barcelona – this is what it feels like to be City!
@ samuel – yup, we need to learn from the 6-1 v City, it doesn’t matter that its a home game we need to play the team not the venue.
Wayne the tea leave say Ronnie is in play. Will he play at OT again? Only God knows.
For what is worth, I doubt Ronaldo is heading back. Either wise, @Wayne totlly with you,
I myself think Bale is worth the hype, even though many doubt him, but 50mill? it would be crazy, of course it’s not our money and if we would buy him for 50 then so be it, but a 28 old Ronaldo who is doing something what only Messi is and doesn’ look to stop it nowhere soon, YES it would be madness to no re-sign him.
@TheCantona, I got it, but maybe I’m not agreeing with you, cause I don’t think Ronaldo is declining, he will decline at the age of 34-35, and yes he depends his game on speed, but so did Giggsy.
@NBI I don’t agree with you that Bale is a better winger or a teamplayer than Ronaldo, it just was Ronaldo against the world after the world-cup incident and that’s why it seemed like that and it was like that. But he played his heart for us. Do you remember what were his stats after the world against him? His first great season at the age of 21-22 was 17goals and 14 assists, so yes he’s a good teamplayer.
AND
I agree on the “When Messi is off form they struggle.” and on the Barca Coach thing! You were on point! “coaching and strategy was a factor”
peace.
Ronaldo is not coming back to United. No much my fellow posters want it. Can you imagine what he will want paying per week on top of a massive transfer fee? It’s just not going to happen.
What a club
I have said on here many times that ronnie will come back. He even still has his house here. He never sold it!
As for the never ending debate about midfielders and defenders. I actually think were pretty set to be honest. I think our wingers will get a huge overhaul after this season. If we had 2 wingers actually getting assists this year aswell as goals with the attacking partnership of rvp and rooney we would have got out of 2nd gear more often. After we got our 2nd against qpr on the weekend we started to relax and then the tricks and classyness came out with all 4 attacking players constantly alternating. But with nani (imo our only winger that can do that, apart from giggs) likely to be off we need highly creative players from out wide. Considering we have now scouted james rodriguez 9 times i think he is likely to be brought in, and it sounds crazy but i think ronaldo too.
All the major purchasers of shares from the ipo got an agreement from united that each season we will improve our squad by £50 million (which could be why we concluded the zaha transfer in january rather then waiting till the summer as we spent like 40 million so would not have reached the agreements in place with the shareholders) so with this being said i think we will go in for ronaldo at £50-£60 million (therefore reaching the agreed improvements with the shareholders) and rodriguez will be a replacement for the cash brought in by nani.
In short i think:
, possibly ando
In – ronaldo, rodriguez, wanyama (if ando leaves)
Out – scholes, nani, valencia (controversial but he has not been the same player all season and hes not exactly at an age hes likely to improve), fletcher
Also, i actually see rodriguez as more of a replacement for giggs but not quite yet will he get the number 11! He has better ball control then bale so i see him as a player we will be foolish to miss.
Also my opinion on these players isnt from a youtube vid. I have seen rodriguez and wanyama playing a few times (live on tv, not in person) and even at their young ages players older and more experienced then them are always looking up to try their best to give them the ball. I saw zaha in person last september at the valley against charlton and even at just 19 (i think?) he was dictating the game single handedly. Add power and consistency to that and we have our future number 7
As for ronaldo, i dont think i need to explain what he is capable of!
King Eric – carrick is 31 going on 32, in 2 or 3 yeas he is going need to be replaced, the summer is a perfect starting point to start the transition, ferdinand has not even announced if he will resign, vidic we know his injury problems, smallen and jones fitness wise they do not give me loads of confidence, and smallen is miles away from even lacing rio’s boots. So I do think we are in huge needs of starting the rebuilding process of the spine, and the backline is going to need strength and depth. It is a good side, but I say its far from complete. I do think the defense and midfield are in need of new meat, especially the midfield. Zaha is a great staring point for the wide birth position, all it needs is a new midfielder, and an extra defender, and perhaps a big impact signing, to keep ahead of he pack
Dan-young – I totally disagree we are all set, in terms of certain positions, I do feel a top class CM is critical for next season, someone to take the pressure off carrick, because when there is no carrick the side is lost. Now for the summer I do hope the club does this
summer ins * world class CB and CM, and a big impact player like we had with RVP
We look at the CM options beyond carrick and cleverly its grim
anderson jones giggs fletcher scholes
That is not great strength and depth, so I do hope the club sorts this problem out once and for all, heck if rio signs on I think we be ok, but the main priority this summer, is signing a world class CM player, we do that we will blitz the PL again
How much have we seen scholes, fletch, ando this season .. Ooh also what position are we in. Might i also remind you of uniteds incredible youthful midfield talent? Midfield is fine. Our team set up is 2 midfielders working as a base of attacks and spotting danger to break up opposition attacks. Just cause oir midfield dosnt get many goals a season dosnt mean they arent good enough, it means our incredible attacking talent does all the talking (and weirdly our defenders too this year) .. Again turn your attention to the league table.
We have a world class defender in evans, vidic, ferdinand and soon enough smalling and especially jones
One midfielder most are over looking and IMO over next few years will be top drawer is Nick Powell. Bug strong lad. Intelligent. Both footed. Technically superb and can score some belters.
Zaha is raw but he looks quality. Pace to burn, tricks, power and glides past players. Imagine how good he CAN become plying his trade at United.
Ronnie will not be coming back. Certainly not this summer. I agree David We Trust one more quality midfielder.
Hey Zibbie hope you’re well mate
NBI if he does come back it would be for the right reasons otherwise he’ll end up at City or PSG,there seems to be a definite impasse/rift between him and Madrid. At a recent interview Ronnie said money wasn’t every thing, there’s also those rumors that GM are going to get involved.
With 18 mths left on Ronnie’s contract something’s got to give
#big#
Cani just point out the fact i did mention wanyama. People seem to think uniteds midfield is embarassing. You dont go 12 points clear in the premier league with a shit midfield. Our midfield is fine (as i stated before) .. It could be better, but right now its fine, if not great, for the way the team is set up.
Dream signing in midfield is wilshere. Young, english, a leader (at arsenal, but thats not a difficult club to stand out as a leader at), and has a tendency to spot danger.
As for your opinion on ronaldl not coming this summer, time will tell. But in my opinion its highly likely especially with the £100 million the winner of the prem recieves. And bales great form is only helping us.
Best situation, ronnie comes home and the virus take bale, silva and aguero
Dan-young – that is true, but there is still room for improvement, always, we can never stand still, we done that in 2011 and it bit us on the ass big time. I still am not convinced with the strength and depth of the midfield, I do not like seeing jones in midfield, he is picking up too many injury’s in that position. I just think someone alongside carrick, who can also dictate the pace of the game, will give us greater control, many said we were fine upfront,we buy RVP and that position became our X factor, which has helped us blow away the competition
Well said wayne, apart from the mention of city. Will never happen. Especially with the new ffp in the premier league. People seem to jump on the bullshit bandwagon that ronaldo is money orientated. When has he ever done anything to prove this? He goes to united earning 20k a week at 18. He does great things for the club until 2009 when he goes to madrid to fulfill his mums (and possibly his fathers) lifetime wish. He gives away shit loads to charity and in the meantime publicly mocked city for believing they could tempt him with ridiculous money. The guy is unselfish, charitable, hard working and a fucking legend. Just cause some fat cunt behind a desk at the fucking sun you guys think hes public enemy number 1. Pull your head out the ground and see fucking sense!!! (not aimed at you wayne)
I am 100% sure Ronnie will not come to OT. RM will hold out as long as they can and then offer him a great deal. Likely this summer.
@IDWT .. I do agree with you. I wouldnt complain seeing a schweinsteiger in our team. But he wont atall be the same player as he is for germany or bayern cause our midfielders play in the way that saf sets them up for the team. And if its a cleverley, carrick, schweinsteiger, modric or xavi .. They will play in the same style.
Cleverley is actually in the top 5 midfielders in the premier league that pass forwards with the best accuracy. or its some sort of stat as impressive as that. Hes yet another underrated english talent that dosnt get the praise he deserves just cause he wears the united logo. Its scholes take 3! (take 2 was carrick)
Did I say the midfield is embarrassing, no, I said it lacks strength in depth, lets be realistic, powell is not going to break through next season, and if powell does not? we stand still until the boss is confident enough he can break through, do not forget tom and Danny spent 2 or 3 seasons on loan at various clubs. It is key we beef up that area, so sometimes we can play a 3 man midfield, or sometimes we can rest carrick. I love giggsy, and he has come into a great purple patch period, but never forget, giggs was in terrible form in the quarter way through the season, and we leaked goals like pissing after a bottle of beer. Now when fit, carrick and cleverly is a great combo, but they cannot always play every week, we need a plan B, and different alternative way if carrick was injured. Many say, what would we do if an RVP was injured, god help us if carrick got injured
zaha stat – zaha has got 15 goals in 2 years for palace, now what united have missed, is someone with direct pace, we have missed valencia’s direct pace, united can score goals at all angles, but we have missed our wingers ability to rip fullbacks ti shreds, we saw glimpses of this against shitty and chelsea away, I am hoping we get this for next season, because we have so missed the ability from our wingers to tear sides apart to give space to rooney and RVP
@Dan-young
I agree 200% with you about the Ronaldo comment.
Absolutely spot on mate! spot on. Great read.!
The only way I can see him going next is, byy doing a Beckham, PSG or Milan. Basically go through all great teams and Leagues. That good he is!
peace,
NBI I’m not so sure mate the taxation is a lot higher on all new contracts in Spain and its coming up to reelection time in Madrid that’s normally when the club goes on a spending spree. Its unlikely the banks will give them massive loans so Madrid will have to sell players
In the end it’s if Ronnie is serious about leaving,if he is there’s only a few clubs that could sign him so I don’t understand why some lads don’t think Utd will be in the running
@ wayne – actually you are right about the GM rumours, they do pose the question, it is so far left field that it feels like the GM thing may have some legs, certainly SAF is wooing him all the way, if he was a dog he’d be scratching his belly. I think United could be in the running for him, I don’t think money is all he is after, he wants to be the best more. Let’s see!!! It would be the coup of the century and if Barca’s form keeps dropping a cheeky offer for Xavi or Inesta maybe. I also agree his love affair with RM is over, it was not the experience he dreamt of…let’s see!
Also saw an article that SAF turned down Bale for £12mn when he was at Southampton as United thought it was too much for him…! Ah well. It may have seemed high at the time. That may also be a reason for him not to want to come here, once spurned…
Off topic, have u all heard rumors that Qatar Airways is going to replace DHL as our training kit sponsor for a deal worth €100 mil for 8 seasons??
Nbi – I heard united wanted 2 sign him, but he wanted to plav straight away, he turned us down for spurs
Weareunited .. Thanks mate, so many bullshit bandwagons about nowadays. People seem to believe everything they read.
Thecantona .. I kinda hope thats not true. I dont in any way mean this to offend people but its rich people from the middle east that are ruining football. Wben you see the cover of fifa 13 all 3 kits have a sponsor from the middle east. Teams like psg, malaga (first victims of ffp due to their owner being a moron) and worst of all city are all the jokes of the footballing wlrld nlbody likes them. And the reason city are the worst of all is due to the fact i am still to find a city fan that isnt a muggy future asbo that looks like he/she should be sponsored by lonsdale! And collectively at the etihad (fucking joke of a stadium name, their etihad deal is being investigated though) they are a bunch of scummy violent cunts. Admittedly im sure not all,but i am yet to find that minority of okayish city fans
dan-young.. it’s all about the money. and tbh, these middle eastern owners are far better than other rich owners. city have always been a joke, but the citeh owners have introduced stability. mancini would have been sacked long ago if at chelski. psg owners also seem decent atm. at the end of the day, you can see these owners are looking for stability, rather than being the joke of football ala qpr and chelski..
Wayne
it’s great to read your comments nowadays. You don’t sound as angry as before. Lol
I’m very impressed by varane. Shows great maturity for a 19 year old. He his not hot-headed like pepe or Ramos, and puts him some great tackles even inside the box. His threat from corners is palpable. I did expect him to perform so well against us and in both classicos. I hope we have a plan for him at both ends of the pitch
@Wayne
“Only God knows”
@RedAllTheWay
I think you are getting the wrong impression of City’s owners. Need one be reminded how Mancini got his job in the first place? And how Mancini only stayed on this season because we gave him the title, and even so, he was close to leaving? Rich owners are never good news. Look at Malaga now, one day Chelsea, City & PSG will follow suit.
On Lewandowski, lets put it this way, if he was really that good, and so many top teams needing strikers, wouldnt there be a scramble for him yet? Apart from his National team coach praising him, I dont recall anyone else doing so
Meanwhile in other news, Pogba has reportedly asked for a bigger contract already, quote from Italian news. Anyone still think he left purely for football reasons?
Dan-Young:
i encho your feeling, but remember this Glazers w’ere talking about. Do they really care where the money comes from? do they fuck?
Marq:
no shit. That cunt has asked for a bigger contract already? Hahaha. I really could see him move from Juve in next 2 years.
You are talking about ronnie declining yeah for sure he will decline but pay attention now ,,how many goals he scores in a year now 70 something and even starts to decline he will still score 40 something thats still better than bale can ever have ,,,,
So you bet your candy coated ass RONNIE WELCOME BACK ,,,,GGMU !!!!!7
Yeah, scoring 70 goals in two side league is a big achievement.
also there’s no way CR7 could score 40 goals in PL, not in his prime let alone in his thirty.
Guys dont laugh to Barca, because RM comeing to us..so we have to be ready. We dont want that same thing happend to us. RM is very dangerous, and we have to be careful. We are playing home, but every goal they score, we need two..
Rio Chimes in on Bale …
Rio Ferdinand @rioferdy5
People mentioning Bale in the same breath as @Cristiano + Messi really don’t know football! Bale been 1 of best 2 in PL this year but….
..He is not on CR7 + Messi’s level yet…he carries on doing what he is doing for 2/3yrs then there can be a debate. Bale showed me a clean..
..pair of heals once this year so I’m in good position to judge! CR7 + Messi have been on another planet for 4-5yrs #consistent
If I can digress for a moment, I’d like to thank Doron Solomon for the kind review of my book Red Matters in Stretford End, as linked in RoM’s Reads. It’s very important to me to have genuine Reds enjoying what I write, so many thanks.
Now as for Bale, he’s certainly come alive in the last few weeks and scored some brilliant goals but he needs to sustain that over a period of years and win some trophies before he can be considered equal to Ronaldo. Having said that, I’d happily see him at United. One test of such things is whether you get nervous when a particular opponent gets the ball, and I must say I did at White Hart Lane, well though Rafael and Jones played. One of the qualities he has, which we rather lack, is sheer physical power and presence, enabling him to just muscle his way through defences. Now he’s cut out the diving – and I do think he did – he’s actually more effective. The boy’s growing up, I’d like to see the man at Old Trafford. But I doubt if it will happen. Spurs fans will accept Bale going to Real, not to a Prem Lge rival. There’s still some bitterness that we got Sheringham, Carrick and Berbatov from them.
Actually, yes although Bale has been excellent for the past few weeks, the player who has impressed me the most is actually Suarez. Yes he is a right prick, but there are no doubts about his ability as a player. He just ghost past defenders like they are not there. The Figo type of player that doesn’t rely on pace & power. You can built raw pace & power, ala Bale & Ronaldo, but natural ability like that cannot be taught
Bale has hinted many times he fancies going abroad post Spurs, RM is his stage to show what he can do, I don’t think he fancies joining United.
And about Rooney selling to PSG…hope not true, but if we can get 50 – 60 mills for him…that is ok price, everything less than that is cheap…but the problem is that if we want player with same qualitys than, we need again 50-60mills…that is the 1st reason why i think we aint gonna sell him
hahahhahah
2nd is that he is more than a striker…if we sell him, then we will see how much he meant to us
3rd and most important reason is…i can t see him speakkng french
Dumb news reporters keep linking us wiyh all sorts of strikers when we already have a surplus of strikers. RVP, Roo, Chicha, Welb, Angelo and Will Keane. We dont have enough games to spread around as it is now.
So Sir Ryan Giggs only needs a teammate starting with “Z” to complete his A-to-Z teammate list.
