The Telegraph writes in full praise of Dimitar Berbatov.

Liverpool Kop reckons stats prove Torres is better than Rooney. Just like stats proved Berbatov was the best player on the park last night… oh, no wait…

Rossobianchi talks about Giggs’ knighthood.

F365 takes the piss out of Keano.

Stats like that are so meaningless. Why pick only 2 stats out of the tons that are recorded, such as short passing / mid passing / long passing + successrates, shooting from varied distances, running, tackling, fouls, assists, etc.
Even then, stats will never record what players are doing off the ball or what decisions they make!
Silly scouser’s trying to justify anything these days..

  4. Rax says:

    Interesting argument made by LiverpoolKop.
Using their logic: Kuyt’s 4 goals and 2 assists from 725mins on the pitch, vs. Gerrard’s 3 goals and 3 assists from 800mins on the pitch this season = Stevie GBH is less effective than a bag of shit water carrier.

Good article on Berba. Maybe people are finally realising what a shit hot talent the bloke really is. He was a joy to watch last night.

Emily will be hosting her own show on mutv soon the way things are going. Well done.

  7. Jassim Al-Thani -- Qatar says:

Those stats are unfair because ROONEY played on our left wing for most of 2008/2009 season … whereas Torres was always the scousers out and out striker!!
but let them enjoy their stats … in the end we will be lifting trophies which is more important :)

for the United reserves vs sunderland reserves,
eikrem and king ‘s 2 goals a piece…there’s one more vid which is by the same user that has kings second.

  9. Drew Vader says:

I might get slaughtered for this…. but,

I think la Nina is the better striker, maybe the best in the world right now. BUT I think Rooney is the better all around footballer. Wayne could play at left back and be terrific. And we know he could play keeper.

  10. wazza (Bezi) says:

Wazza might miss the game against the dippers :-(

  11. Sam the kenyan red says:

ROONEY IS THE BEST OF THE TWO!! I wonder if torres was played on the left wing if he could be effective as wazza. Torres is their most depedant player thats why all their balls are played to him unlike rooney at united.

  12. five says:

Torres is a better striker then Rooney and I am not ashamed to say it but Rooney brings more to our team then Torres does to theirs.

It’s why we are champions :)

    @andsolskjærhaswonit…

Good morning.long time since you have posted a comment.

as for torres he maybe a better striker in terms of goals but rooney is a better overall player because he adds a lot more to the team than what torre does and has lot of strength unlike miss torres who goes down even when a mosquito touches him.

  22. andsolskjærhaswonit... says:

    Morning AIG. Cheers man.
Torres is a better finisher than Rooney. Period.
But when we talk about the overall play, then as Tony Pulis will say ‘Rooney is better than Torres by a country mile’ ;) Play Torres at Left Back and see what impact he has on the pitch. As many have said before Rooney played most of his trade in the left wing whilst the ladyboy was an out n out striker for the dippers so comparing there goals n assists is completely daft, plus Rooney doesn’t roll around like a pussy at every single touch.
btw, sorry for the multiple posts. :P

  23. andsolskjærhaswonit... says:

    Emily is a LEGEND.

  24. aig alex is god says:

    @andsolskjærhaswonit…

    absolutely.

Rooney is more of a team player and even if Fergie tells him to stay upfront he will still roam all over the pitch.the guy just loves the club.whnever we get a corner and vida and rio are in the box rooney always stays outside the box to try and repel the counter attack and ensure he we keep possession when he does not have to do that.we are very lucky to have someone like rooney and he is 2 years younger than Torres.

  25. Jack says:

    shnuu
yeah i know, i posted that one

  26. reDalerT says:

totally agree with the unfair comparison as to where Rooney was played most of last season.. look at his assists!

let them enjoy reading those stats on paper, cos we’ll be enjoying reading the papers headlining man utd as champions once again ;o)

  27. bigphil2003 says:

Reading into just goals and assists misses a lot of creative impact to goals. Look at Berbatov’s (and rooney’s) parts in Carrick’s goal the other day, but apparently that counts for nothing in these stats. The same for fletcher’s great pass to Giggs for Berba’s goal against Stoke.
