Despite all that Liverpool did for him, he jumped ship because he wanted to win titles. He joined us because it was good for his career, even though it meant shitting all over the club that he should be grateful to for turning him into a great player. With us, he says the right things but you get the sense that he doesn't really have any genuine feelings for the club. He appreciates the opportunity and respects what United has achieved, but he'll never love the club the way our other players do. A comment from the Guardian piece,
