on the glory hunter bit,My grandad was an army major as it wuld be who at one point lived with his wife an young family in Manchester my dad became aamchester united fan and moved to wiclow in Ireland later I’m life met a women from Dublin raised kids and the boys became united fans like there dad. But because from Dublin I’m a glory hunter who’s not a true supporter like my brother and we should support our local team( even thou we support them financially with been half season ticket holders for rovers) Scott did a fantastic artical a long time ago about foreign support about united.

Skysports are reporting the same story.
Like Vidic said. Ronnie left the best club in the world to join Real Madrid.
@when the seagulls follow: great article
I am united fan from India, Unfortunately, I feel like most people everywhere else around the world aren’t really genuine in their support. The first united game i saw, was a defeat at the hands of madrid. We were underdogs in the game and that made me support united. As I started watching more games I absolutely fell in love with club. It as given me so much joy over the past few years. I have supported united through our lows, arsenals unbeaten streak, our trophyless season, the arrogance of mourinho and chelsea, our failure to qualify for the champions league.
But these lows has made my passion for the club more than it has ever been. The lows are the ones that make the highs even higher. It has given me the incredible feeling that no one can give me, our win which ended arsenals streak, fletchers looping header over cech, Rooneys goal against everton in a 4-2 win, scholes goal against blackburn, terrys slip in the champions league finals, I even felt great when mellor gave liverpool the win over arsenal.
What am trying to say is that though our club as many people who have jumped on the bandwagon just because we are winning they will never have the same passion and will never experience the highs that we feel. It annoys me when someone who was once supporting arsenal, or liverpool celebrates uniteds victory acts theyve been supporting us through the hard times. But i have just learned not to care, they never will have the same passion.

@the seagulls follow the trawler
excellent article pos had been getting stick due not being from manchester he wrote that article and it came from the heart. it annoys me to know that there are some glory hunting fans that i know who pretend to have been supporting united through thick and thin and most recently supporting united bcos of ronaldo but funny thing is now when i ask them how they think we’ll do this season they say they don’t know as i assume they have’nt been watching our games this season. another is these same fans keep quiet when i get piss take from rival fans when coming from a loss but gloat when we win although not watching the game. tbh i’m a die hard united supporter and have been supporting united since 2001 and although not being from manchester it does’nt make me less of a fan and no i’m not a glory hunter and it annoys the living hell out of me i fell in love with united watching them play and this is’nt bcos we were winning at the time. i love everything about the club and i feel happy when we win and sad when we lose. tbh i cried tears of joy when we won the european cup when beating chelski. i read about the munich air disaster and try to make sure i watch a game when i can. i believe noone should question your loyalty as a bcos only you know if it’s real and i know it is i can feel it in my heart and the emotions running through me after watching games. being from a place outside manchester does’nt make you less of a fan. i will always support united throughout my life and till i die. united is my life and i will always be a one man team which i am and my team is United!! UNITED>Any other football team in the world.
