    rio out of sunday

  2. MichaelK says:

    vdS

    Bosingwa – Terry – Ferdinand – Evra

    J. Cole – Fletcher – Essien – Giggs

    Drogba – Rooney

    Would that be a decent line-up? If one should have to choose between the two teams!

  3. redjoe10 says:

    12 million quid would be tempting for Nani if that is true.

  4. cherry says:

    Nani 12mm?? Take the money and run!!!

  5. bchilds says:

    I really hope the Nani story is true, if £12m is on offer than we’ll be so lucky – take the money and run, run far and away!

  6. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

    Chelsea got there ban suspended and nani for 12 million after 4 million for obertan Sounds like good biddness

  7. RedDeviled Egg says:

    Nani will flouish in Spain.
    We better have a way to shut down Drogba this weekend. He’s been immense as of late

  8. bigphil2003 says:

    MichaelK I’d agree with your team except I’d take a fit Wes Brown and Vidic over Bosingwa and Terry any day.

  9. Berbatovs' love life says:

    @ Jack

    I have to say there is a part of me who likes to see some fire in the eyes of Obertan, even though he shouldnt do that it shows passion, much like Rooney when he was first breaking on to the scene!

    That crossover was soo sick…i truly think we may have ourselves the next Henry…I want Obertan to get as many games as possible to see what we have in him this year and where he fits best, this will allow us to most likely sell Nani and use the extra money to buy Silva, or maybe even Ribery, I think he would love to come play with Evra and Obertan…The French Connection!

  10. Jessie says:

    I don’t understand how Obertan was stuck playing in the Bordeaux reserves…why?

  11. Hakan says:

    Jessie: At the time of his transfer to United Laurent Blanc (Bordeaux coach)said that Obertan needed to “overcome mental challenges”. This seems to indicate some kind of attitude problem.

  12. bigphil2003 says:

    Obertan looks like a nice (timid?) kind of guy. Turns out maybe he isn’t…
    Hopefully Sir Alex will sort out any petulance sharpish.

  13. HARGREAVES' CURLY HAIR says:

    Guys i think that if the rumour is true i hope nani does’nt leave he is an exceptional talent who’s only problem is his decision-making. he certainly provides more than park and probably valencia. i tell you nani has the potential to be a world beater in a few years!!
    In the cl this season i think there’ll be a surprise in barca’s group. bayern as good as team they are on their day are going to the europa league as well as the dippers!! long live the rafalution!

  14. HARGREAVES' CURLY HAIR says:

    I understand the article of Between The Lines is concerned but Fergie had to wait for Hargo and i agree that we should find a cure for long term injuries although we being a team that competes for every competition it is very difficult to prepare for surgeries bcos important players are needed bcos our league and cup games are congested!

    my favourite chelsea game is when united won there first double

  16. The REAL AB says:

    My ideal line-up would be-

    VDS
    O’Shea Vidic Evans Evra
    Fletcher Anderson
    Valencia Giggs Nani
    Rooney

  17. DebRed says:

    Run Nani Run…
    He is a nice guy though, but like Tevez he promised loads which he hasnt delivered. I would go easy on Obertan. He is a kid yet and will have to go some distance. We need to be careful taking him too high too early.
    I am very impressed with Valencia, this guy has really improved from the day I first saw him for United.
    I am really looking forward to Valencia in the next few games and hopefully seasons.

  18. hurr says:

    I don’t want Nani to go. I think his shortcomings is something that will go when he gets more games under his belt. I don’t want us to go and sell another player that becomes great somewhere else.

  19. HARGREAVES' CURLY HAIR says:

    @hurr
    you’re right mate feel the same about nani the guy is talented and needs to develop certain aspects to his game. it seems to me many people insist nani is rubbish and needs to be poke i think otherwise we should stand by nani and build him not break him down!

  20. Manchester United Indonesia says:

    Nice info! Happy Weekend.

  21. rooninho says:

    people had also been rubbishing fletch for years and years and years. i hate to think where united would be without him now.

    nani has amazing raw skill, there’s no denying it. his decision making and football brain just need to catch up with all his physical gifts. like fletch early on in his united career, he’s just not getting a long run of games to find his form.

    nani is still young (he turns 23 on nov 17) and is still too talented to give up on just yet. he just shouldn’t play in the most massive games at the moment. rotate him in for the bolton and hull city type matches.

    scott the red’s last obertan/nani post is spot on about why nani should stay

  22. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

    @hurr
    when you say another player it got me thinking
    who have u ited sold that did better somewhere else, stam? Pprborski? I can’t really think of anyone.had you someone in mind

  23. HARGREAVES' CURLY HAIR says:

    GHTT
    i reckon he’d have said guiseppe rossi who now is at villareal and he’s been excellent for italy at the confederations cup and although he has’nt set la liga alight this season he is a fantastic prospect and is one for the future one to watch at the world cup next summer.
    mate who do you think might come out on top between ireland and france? it’s going to be heartbreak for some of our players after the play offs. either evra or o’shea are going to get piss take.
    guys i hope tosic features more and i’m confident he will and will play an important role throughout the season his compatriot ljajic is exciting and scored a great goal midweek for partizan in the europa league.

  24. HARGREAVES' CURLY HAIR says:

    Guys i’m concerned about his (rio’s) recent injuries that trouble his calf and could be linked to his back or might be nerves as fergie reckons. we need his experience, leadership qualities and composure that sets him apart from other centre halves in the world. fergie does’nt quite know where the problem lies and not quite sure when he’ll come back. hargo will train in 10 days or so if everything goes as anticipated which i’m sure it will, it’s fantastic news! this will hopefully mean fletcher might have an op on his ankle.
    @Hakan
    yeah mate he’s another player who has shone since leaving united he was great last season winning the european golden boot award. another might be seba veron who was immense in helping boca juniors(i think it’s his team if not i’d gladly be corrected) winning the copa libatadores!

  25. Hakan says:

    @HCH
    “If everything goes as anticipated” is a big if where your namesake is concerned. His comeback seems to be postponed again and again. I would love to see him back in the team soon.
    I think Rio’s mistakes this season have been linked to injuries more than anything else, and it’s a big worry that the doctors seem unable to understand the cause of his problems.

  26. rooninho says:

    @ghtt

    with all the niggling injuries to rio and vidic lately (especially rio) i think we could have really used ryan shawcross for cover. just read he snubbed a return to united in january, and signed on with stoke until 2013!

    he’s turned into a top defender and has grown to 6′5″

    i thought pique seemed to slow for the epl, but he’s been a solid defender for barca and did well in rome against… fuck!

    also, always thought we gave up on tim howard too soon.

    finally, as mentioned already, rossi and diego forlan

    don’t think we’re missing the 3 argentinians too much, but i still like aguero who scored a nice brace as a sub against chelsea the other day in the champions league. maybe someday united for sergio aguero?

  27. HARGREAVES' CURLY HAIR says:

    @rooninho
    i understand that aguero is a fantastic talent but we don’t have a great relationships with argies and besides we have exciting talents in our ranks like danny welbeck and kiko with king and petrucci emerging. we also have mame birame diouf who’s coming in jan and who fergie seems to rate highly who is a deadly finisher and quick as hell! besides do you think he’ll make it in the prem, i’m not so sure he seems to have been made for la liga or serie A. i think that la liga who is’nt as good as the english premier league and the defenders are a lot more physical and are a whole lot quicker! although he is one of the best young strikers in the world.

  28. theboogeyman says:

    Hargreaves is coming back by the year end is what I read.He may have a few niggling injuries now, but when he comes back, he’ll be good as new.

    Aguero=Overrated.

  29. rooninho says:

    @hargreaves

    i do think aguero is a little small but he is a natural goal scorer. as far as him cutting it in the prem? 2 goals against chelsea in 1 half of football ain’t bad! we could use that goal scoring rate against chelsea ourselves come sunday!

    anyway just being a bit greedy. happy with our strikers young and old, especially the young combo of kiko and welbeck.

    aguero is a huge fan of his compatriot, you know who, and that silly bastard would probably bad mouth united and recruit him to the shitty mercenaries. still don’t want to label all the argie people/footballers cunts because of a few bad apples! never heard a bad word yet about a guy named messi.

    what we really need are a couple of world class centre backs in january. i still think our current poor defending which is so similar to the 2001-2002 season, might get that same result (no silverware).

  30. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

    Forlan and rossi weren’t gonna make it in the English game thou to be fair. It was a bit too pysical I think.

  31. Sam the kenyan red says:

    What about david jones ??

  32. The kenyan redvill says:

    Hello mates. Awin tomorrow will be perfect.

  33. aig alex is god says:

    A win looks a wee bit too difficult from my point of view.hope we get a draw but i have a bad feeling we are going to lose tomorrow.afraid to say this but there is nothing about ou play that gives me confidence at the moment.we have been poor all over the park and yet are in 2nd place.Things can only improve for us and i am sure post christmas we will be back to our attacking best.till then even if we are 5-6 points behind ill be happy keeping in mind chelsea have to play arsenal and shitty while we have some easy fixtures.

  34. The kenyan redvill says:

    @aig. I agree with you mate, we are in poor form but its gona end right before this game, i have astrong feeling we gona beat them.

  35. aig alex is god says:

    @The kenyan redvill

    ok mate.good to see you are so positive.i am not though and after our poor recent performances in the big games i doubt whether we can beat chelsea.even if we play 100 times better than at Anfield we may still get beaten because Chelsea are in great form hope there is no controversy and the refreeing is good.

  36. theboogeyman says:

    rooninho-Here’s a bad word about Messi-he’s a spitter.

  37. eassy boyz says:

    Well Nani is tryin his best and i still have faith in him if we can use Valencia and Tosic down the Right, Nani and Obertan down the left in a 4-3-3 formation that will clearly show we have players who love runnin at Defenders and gettin passes in

  38. rooninho says:

    @theboogeyman

    fair enough!

  39. Giles Oakley says:

    I hope we don’t sell Nani as I still think he has it in him to become an extremely good player, and we hardly need the money as the £80M for Ronaldo has hardly been touched. I’d keep faith witth him, as Fergie did with Fletcher when fans were baying for his blood.

    On players who’ve gone on to better things when they’ve left United, I’d say the biggest mistake was Johnny Giles in the ’60s. Although we won the Double with the ‘Kids’ in ‘96, I wonder if we’d have done even better if we’d kept Mark Hughes, who didn’t do ‘better’ after United, but did pick up a few trophies elsewhere. In a different way it was certainly a mistake to lose Jaap Stam, who did well in Italy. On paper Ruud did better after leaving, winning 2 La Liga titles with Real, compered to his one Prem title and one FA Cup medal with United, but it was still the right thing to let him go. I hope he doesn’t now go to Spurs as rumoured as he’s still a great goal-scorer. However, the team was liberated when he and Keane went.

  40. theboogeyman says:

    Giles- Johnny Giles was at the centre of Leeds’ title win in that period, wasn’t he?

    And I completely agree with you regarding Nani.He has got talent,it’s just a matter of consistency and decision-making.

    I want him to succeed at United, just like Fletch did.

  41. thedevil85 says:

    vds
    rafael vida evans evra
    valen fletch ando giggs
    rooney berbatov
    with obertan and owen to defo make a sub appearence regardless
    110% off yas all lads and well fukin do em

  42. Datnana says:

    Sell nani??? What? Will be the worst decision ever made. We should even be grateful he doesn’t want to leave. Can see him maturedly captaining united in rooney’s absence in future. Please!!! And with fair refreeing, Chelsea cannot beat us.
