As soon as the ACON comes around Chelsea will be shite. That’s the bottom line, especially with fixture congestion when the FA Cup hots up and the knockout stages of the Champions League come round.

The fact we have such a good chance of winning it is testament to what a great team we have. On and up after the international break is the only way to go, especially as we’ll finally have a good stretch of games to hit stride.

Well, Sayyid. How did you notice that Arsenal will fall apart against Everton (already trashed them 6-2), Bolton (Big Sam), Villains (transformed into no-more-big-4-threat), Man United (unlucky in away games),Liverpool (lollz) and Chelsea (without Essian & Drog and we have seen them against Wigan and Villa)?
It’s in the bag for United. Sunday showed just how well we can play. With players coming back from injury (Hargo) and great youth coming in and through the ranks we will only get stronger second part of the season. This time last season the Rentboys had only lost one and we were EIGHT points behind both them and the dippers, with only one game in hand. We all know what happened next. There is no way the likes of Lumpard, Drogba, Deco etc will be able to keep their form up for the next 6 half months. They play every single game and despite what people say they just don’t have the same depth that we have. As for the Goons , no chance they ain’t got fuck all mental strength. Lets see how the wonder kids do in the cold winter months away at the likes of Villa, Bolton, Stoke etc. There is a long way to go and United are sitting very pretty at the minute. I reckon we are just about to click. All the talk in the media pre season about the dippers and Citeh being able to win the league was frankly laughable.
Fair play to ChelseaD, always gives a fair assesment.
As for Owen , I know Fergie knows best but I would love to see him start more games. When he plays (i know he may miss 2 or 3 ) I always feel he is going to score. Given a decent run I really do believe he would score for fun.

For every Chelsea game you point to (where we played well, but by no means was that even close to a masterclass), we have several other games this season to prove the contrary. So just shut up and admit its going to be tough tough season, and we’re going be something special to win the league this year.

Perhaps I was a bit previous in stating it’s “in the bag” but I have every faith that United WILL win the league this season. We are the best equipped and have a great history of the run in. I just don’t think Arsenals young uns are experienced enough just yet. I may well be wrong but it’s no reason to be told to “shut up”.

King Eric – I was wrong in using the term ’shut up’ – it was me reacting a little to violently. So I apologize even though it wasn’t directed specifically at you. But I will still state this – although all of us here wish for us to win the league this season, the logic of the argument frustrates me. All I am saying is that the Chelsea game proves nothing, just like the Liverpool game didn’t. For that matter, I don’t think we fantastic or anything in the Chelsea game. We were good in parts, but we still weren’t the complete package – we dominated midfield but we were short of ideas and execution in the final third – something which is becoming a regular feature.
And so when some of us start looking at how many points we can expect others to drop, I just feel we’re conveniently ignoring the fact that we are as likely to drop points. So, yes we’ll win the league, but let me add this – IF ALL GOES WELL, that is we play great all round football for most of the rest of the season, and the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal drop form. Only blind faith will allow me right now to say that it is sure to go our way.

1) United DO have the best squad with key players to come back, great kids coming through (hope we retain Cleverley in Jan) and a couple of young lads coming in Jan.
2) We have been here many times before

last season people still backed us because with Ronaldo struggling to get back to his best in the first half of the season you had to feel given his class he would rediscover his form soon which happened in the 2nd half of the season.This season the advantage we have is we are good in the 2nd half of the season and wont lose any players.Plus chelsea have to travel to Anfield and Old Trafford and play Arsenal and man City in next few games.Arsenal are looking good but then so were they in 2007-08 and when a few players got injured they started struggling.
Also wasnt it 8th November last year as well when we lost 2-1 at the Emirates and people were writing us off.what happened after that? we went unbeaten for the next 4 months.looking at the fixtures we have coming up i wont bet against it.

I honestly don’t know how this season will pan out for us. I agree with someone point about being in second gear but what concerns me is apart from the Wigan game we’re not exactly destroying teams anymore. We have been struggling to score goals this season and really missed Berbatov against chelski, he was the key that would have unlocked the door with his final ball. We have 10 or so games where we should be beating the teams on paper we drop 5 points in them then I’m not so sure we’ll win it this year. Its a mammoth task trying to win 4 in a row thats why nobody has ever done it. The more titles you win in a row the bigger the bullseye on your chest.

Good teams don’t win leagues anymore, great squads do for me we have a superb blend of youth and experience the twins will learn so much off Red Nev, hopefully Anderson will off Scholesy, Macheda off Owen, Valencia off Giggs, Evans is clearly learning off Vida and Rio coupled with the fact Rooney for me is looking really good this season and others are in their prime.
Owen for me can turn draws into wins and I still believe he should play for England, Heskey for fucks sake, we have a great squad and Hargo is coming back, imagine how hungry he is going to be? One thing which I strongly feel is that this season the champion team will be decided by how well that team performed against the teams placed much below them. I mean against the so called have runs. We need to score and start winning consistently big against these teams as I feel these teams will decide who wins at the end. For example Burnsley against us earlier and city last week.
We may have the best manager in the world, but Anceloti cannot be a dumb ass, specially when Sir Alex thinks he is doing good. He will think about the Africans Cup and plan accordingly.
We also need to worry less about when other teams will loose players or form. We need to start winning and start winning convincingly against 12 MEN!
PS: We do have the best manager in the world, even if we don’t win the league.
