I dont think anybody can say That I dont love Wayne Rooney and Micheal Owen has grown on me in red and I always respected what he could do as a player even I I dont like the club he played at as a youth but home in name of Busby did Giggs not get top spot in that list
Anyone else pleasantly surprised by the Martin Samuel article? Very good read.
neville susspended, oshea and evans both doubts, rio out, fabio injured…..do we ever have a fit defence oh well never mind just go with rafael brown vidic evra………..best defence in the world
thank fuck sahas out for 2moz
@GHTT
sorry about Ireland mate. i don’t mean to rub salt in your wounds and to other Irish supporters on this blog. you deserved so much more.:-(
that cheat henry had the ordasity to admit to a hand ball but insists he’s not the ref. it has certainly tarnished his career in terms of him promoting fair play and to those who look up to him. Funny enough FIFA ruled out a replay they focus on english clubs and their debt but avoid serious issues such as henry’s cheating. where is blatter NOW? the guy’s a CUNT!!
good afternoon guys good to be at ROM again.:-)
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/8370497.stm
Keano’s still got it. “You’re going to let it ring out. Yeah, that’s good manners.”
))
Think of the top 10 players to play football??? Chances are you remember one of them cheated a team out of the world cup by using his hand. Even thou his more than likely in your top 10
Roy Keane – the first person to talk any sense on the matter and not overreact.
@Nectarine
he certainly does mate:-). he had a go at the CEO of FAI. Keano is wrong about Ireland not deserving to go through bcos in all honesty they did. they played brilliantly and deserved although they should’ve taken their chances. i guess o’shea is’nt going to get piss take considering Ireland played their hearts out. i’m surprised that Ireland would give France a run for their money considering they were ruled out before kicking a BALL! tbh before the game in Paris i was’nt one of them my Head went with France and my Heart with Ireland.
i’m not surprised that wazza is number 1 in the teenage sensation list.
Scott
just read about Fergie’s press confrence talking about Hargo he said he’s still recovering and it’s about helping his confidence considering the time he’s been out. do you think it’s possible he’ll make it for the Besiktas game at OT on wednesday?:-l
i certainly hope so. good news the physio’s found the problem to rio’s injuries it may be related to his back. should be back at least 2-3 weeks. for a sec i was worried bcos the ABU were blowing things out of proportion like they always do by insisting he’ll be out till 2010!:-o
Henry just came out and said they should replay the game…
I have to respect him for that at least
On Soccerlens: ‘They relied on a dive by Rooney and an own goal to beat Arsenal’
dive? wtf? and what the hell is the author whinging about us ‘needing Tevez’ ?
Everyone talks about Ireland “deserving to go through” – if they’d scored two goals that would be true. What they deserved was a penalty shootout, but that’s no guarantee of anything.
@Berbatovs’ love life
i understand what your saying but it still does’nt condemn what he did. henry very well knows that FIFA won’t allow a replay he’s just saying this bcos he does’nt want to be remembered as a cheating player but a gentleman. had he owned up things would’ve been different and the goal would’nt have been allowed. the most depressing part was the way he celebrated. tbh this is what happens in football we have been fucked over this season and in the past and we just have to move on. henry did this for his country knowing very well what he did i mean anyone would’ve done what he did considering the magnitude of the game he was playing in. think about it every footballer wants to feature in a World Cup and if it means to cheat to get there then so be it. he’s no different regardless of him trying to paint rosy thoughts about himself.
guys i disagree about the implementation of video technology it will slow the tempo of games out and this makes watching football very frustrating!
Berbatovs love life
notice how he said it after it was said it wasn’t gonna happen, thou I never taught it would and really didn’t want the game replayed because if it was replayed then the united chelsea game should be replayed then bermingham would want the second half of the Liverpool game replayed and that’s only in the last week or so.
@Hargreaves curly hair – so what do you suggest we do about these incidents of cheating.
Mohid
if you buy chips and one of them is undercooked you trow it away but if the whole bag of chips is undercooked then you get yourself a new chip shop
no ref is reliable so we need a new chipshop and replace those in charge
@nectarine
great keano link. i swear, he is the scariest united legend ever. he seems to be getting harder and more critical every year. got to respect his opinions although i don’t necessarily agree with all of them. love the phone quote.
i fear he might have some kind of violent breakdown if he doesn’t win something soon. i guess it’s that winning obsession that made him so great for united, but he hasn’t transitioned well to mediocrity at other clubs.
6 of the top 10 best teenage player in prem history are former or current united players?! i thought it would have been more! shocked to see alan smith at 10 (leeds are rubbish!). i always liked him at united though. too bad he never got over that broken leg at that toilet called anfield. it’s disgraceful what they did to his ambulance.
@GHTT – Yes mate we all know that but honestly do you see FA agreeing to the fact that the referee are rubbish as well as incompetent . So the only answer is video technology.As it’ll lead to slowing down the game so for me it should be only be reviewing the goals and the events leading to it. Alongwith that i want the ref given the responsility should constantly review the challenges so that the dirty players like adebayor,pogatetz shouldn’t get away with career ending tackles. Although the video ref need not interrupt every tackle but certainly the ones like adebayor,pogatetz will be caught and will get worthy punishments(i.e. Red card) on the spot.
@ghtt
i don’t think the media has ever forgiven giggsy for representing wales over england. it’s natural for them to put two english national team players as the top two. the write up about owen goes on about his wc argie goal, even though the article is about prem players and not international competition. also, public memory is a fickle and short lived thing. giggs has been so great for so long, it’s hard for many to remember how as a teenager he was dubbed the next george best for united.
@jack
saha injured for 2 months? shocking news!
So with all of the injuries, do we have any chance but to go with a back four of,
Rafael Wes Vidic Evra
Thats not too shabby if you ask me. Although wont it be Rafaels first start of the season?
Its going to be a tough match tomorrow. Everton always seem to play out of their skin against us for some reason so we will have to match their intensity. And I hate to say it, but the 3 points are all that matters really. Chelski will likely roll wolves so we cant let the gap extend beyond 5 points.
cleverleys loan spell extended to end of the season
how did robbie fowler and alan smith get in that list
@Mohit
i think that the FA should give elite referees big games like red nev insisted. refs like andre marriner fucking screw us over and should be refereeing games like stoke vs hull.
@rooninho
i don’t know what’s wrong with the media is’nt a player from another country supposed to play for their native country? look at deco born in brazil played for portugal but he said it does’nt make him like brazil less bcos he plays for portugal. the media is deluded they always are after all majority are dipper fans!:-)
@Drew Vader
i like your back 4 mate. hopefully jonny evans will be fit for tomorrow.
problem is mohit there are no elite refs,their all ego maniacs wholove the attention,one little twat who gave a goal last season that went wide into the side netting was referee’in premier league games the other day
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Thierry_Henry&oldid=326715091
Somebody went overboard with this one.
@ ghtt+Hargraves curly hair
i understand it will never get replayed as that would open up Pandora’s box, I do believe there is a difference in what he did and say what N’Gog did…N”Gog purposefully decieved the ref while Henry just tried to keep the ball in play, its on the officials to make that call, not him to call off the goal after its scored!
If it had been Rooney diving like N’Gog it would be hard to support that, but if Rooney would have done what Henry did i think we would have given him a pass.
It is wrong to make Henry the Villain when he admitted he handled it and even said he would be up to a replay…what more can he do? do you honestly believe you wouldnt celebrate a goal that gets your team into the world cup, even if it was controversial?
if you do, you are crazy!
Keano providing some insight on the France Ireland debacle…
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/8370497.stm
Guys, off topic. I like to follow more on the players. Is any player on twitter? I saw Giggs one. Not sure if its him or not. Anyone have Rooney twitter? Any links? Giggs one i found is http://twitter.com/Ryan_Giggs
watching Espnsoccernet here in South Africa and Tommy Smith with a Y is a joke…did this guy ever play pro football at some point and for whom?
Did you guys watch Nani and Portugal on Weds? He was very very good again. Set up the goal with a beauty of a pass/cross. In the right setup he’s fantastic
Also, any player interviewed, irish, english, or french all say that Henry is no cheat!
any fan who claims otherwise is simply ignorant towards what goes on in football
have a go at this game. Hilarious!!
http://www.jeu-de-main.com/
@Berbatovs’ love life
point taken mate. that’s part of the point i was trying to say earlier to Mohit.
@phaka sa red
i’m not sure mate i dont think he has played football he seems to be an analyst who seems to intimidate his panel. he sometimes looks like a fool. have you also seen the way he likes to batter janusz michalik(sorry about the spelling) and shaka hislop and the other guests. the guy likes to be dominant and wants to be right almost all the time.
@RedDevil Egg
yeah mate he was brilliant. the problem is that at times he’s frustrating with his decision-making. another reason why i think he’s underachieved this season so far is bcos he placed pressure on himself at the beginning of the season by insisting he can replace ronaldo and we know that although he’s talented he has’nt reached ronnie’s level yet. his name is nani he should play like nani!
Keano = Legend
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwcpFXOsrY8
lol redbeard those were the days,the last of the midfield generals them two….. haha just saw roy keane on sky sports news hillarious
henry is just asking for this replay so he doesn’t seem like a complete douche, if he really thought it was unfair, he would’ve told the ref, “yo ref eet ‘eet my ‘and, it was ‘andball” and not have gone off celebrating like a prat. i don’t think more of him now after saying that ireland deserve a replay. ireland played them off the park! france could barely get the ball!
keane’s brilliant, i read that earlier on soccernet today and was laughing my ass off. football needs more men like him!
HARGREAVES’ CURLY HAIR Said,
Great point. He always seems nervous. He needs to develop that cocky swagger that Ronaldo, and all great players, have.
He’s frustrated me so much all season. He seems to save his best performances for Portugal
There is only one Roy Keane!!
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/internationals/8370327.stm
@Sanj sorry mate I see you have the same link..
But i feel sorry for the Irish but i just love this guy
hahahahahaha “arent yo turning off your phone?” “thats good manners”
There’s only one problem with Nani and it’s that he thinks he is Ronaldo. Trying to go alone when you should’ve passed or passed when you should’ve held the ball. It’s not a problem with the left or right flank it’s his head which is causing all the problems for him as well as for us.
Hahaha, I love Roy Keane.
arsene wenger – as much as I despise the horrible little cunt, Fowler’s talent as a striker shouldn’t be under estimated. He was quality. As was Smithy as a kid. Top striker at the sheep shaggers but United turned him into a midfielder. Both of them deserve to be on the list.
Hargreaves’ Curly Hair – No mate in my opinion Hargo won’t make it for Besiktas, no chance. He needs a couple of games at least for the reserves first.
phaka sa red – Yeah Tommy Smith played for the dippers mate. A tough old cunt.
@mohit.right about that mate.nanis decision making and crossing has got to improve big time.also his comments where he said he can replace ronnie have affected him.he is trying too hard rather than keeping it simple.he has to play his own way rather than thinking of being the man to replace ron.
i dunno king eric, that list is fishy to me, im still waiting for joe cole to set the world alight,id say ashley cole done more when he was young and has continued to do more
alan smith was a nightmare when he was young,i wouldnt say united changed his career he just was required to play elsewhere when needed,the injury was more defining
Rooney deserves to be at the top.even though he hasnt delivered to his potential yet.ronaldo was not hyped like rooney but has delivered.the difference between rooney and ronaldo is that rooney has been more talented than ron but ronaldo put in lot of hard work to get where he is.he always had the desire to be the best in the world and worked hard for it.
AIG i would say that ronaldo just found himself in what for him was the perfect team with perfect manager,the perfect role. it suited him 100% everything was adapted for him to benefit him, sometimes it happens, now fergie has to figure out how to get the best from rooney,its not just a question of talent,its a question of the manager getting the best from the talent,if you sent both ronaldo and rooney to liverpool where football is anti,which would look better? i think rooney would addapt better! wether that makes him a better talent i dont know,a different talent probably.
Arsene wenger.ya mate.the team in last 3 years war built around ronnie.rooney is more of a team player.sir alex just awakened the devil in ronaldo in 2006 by telling him to stay back and prove everyone wrong after the world cup.because sir alex knew ronaldo had the ability to be the best.he did so in the last few years.similarly ronaldos exit should awaken the devil in rooney and make him step up his game a bit.
In the kick in the grass article it says Howard will be given a good reception but Saha a “mixed one”. Why?
King Eric — In the soccerlens article, the guy says we “need” a creative midfielder like Aquilliani….
I felt compelled to respond. We need an injury prone hunk of 20 million huh? How the hell do we know if that guy will be worth a shit, (he could be amazing, or he could be djemba X2) when he has played all of 10 mins in the league.
For some reason that comment pissed me off.
Drew – Yeah I saw that too. It pissed me off as well. What a joker. Aquilani looks a ponce. I may well be wrong but just don’t think he will hack the Premier League. He could barely hack Serie A . His fitness record is shocking. He played around 69 or 70 times in 3 years at Roma.
“If I had been an Irishman, he (Henry) wouldn’t have lasted three seconds.”
Eric Cantona on Henry sitting next to Dunne after the game
lol
