@RedScott

You are going on the world cup alone though which isn't always the best place to judge. Nicky Butt was one of the best players of the world cup a few back (was it japan/Korea) and while he was a solid player he played above himself there.

I don't religiously watch german football but do watch some and while he can put great performances but he can go missing for whole games. As I said on another thread he is young so it may not be a major issue and perhaps the world cup is what makes things click but if there are doubts it is there..

We should also remember SAF tracked him as a youth player and when he moved united were the only bug club who made an enquiry but a bid was decided against. So perhaps there's something else we don't see that's keeping bids away.

Don't get me wrong I would like Ozil at United but if SAF chooses not to bid then I trust his judgement

Great links as per normal.On Rom.
i am only going to comment on a few, two in fact to save being accused of being the Rain man.
I think that was a dig at the lad with the fantastic memory, or some one with a retarded vision that drove the Car only on Friday.
Neither is truely correct. Just a lad that pays attention and loves to learn full stop.

Evening Mews.<------- thats not a misspeliing its deliberate. They like most sites on the Tinternet go for hits and Traffic. As I wrote /typed/said To King Eric( awa sunning himself on some greek island) who keeps banging on about Talk Sport.
Its to get listeners viewer's reader's mate, thats what those sites are about.
k
If anybody on here can can justify why we dont need a player like Hesmut Ozil, please stand up and explain why.
if you care to look back on this site Rom, I said after One game in the World cup. WOW on Ozil.
It can be proven if you wish. lol Made for Manchester united.
I guess thats the Evening Mews article shown up for what they are. You keep posting they survive.

United Rant. I sorta feel Grrrrr,He/ She must be American, no passion or honesty. IT MAKES my blood boil with fury.
And you no what the cunts dare not put up the Stats and acheivements that MAN as claimed with his teams for your CLUB.
And rebuilding give the man a chance, recognise something familar there?

It's a good idea Fletch THE man. It wouldn't take that many e-mails. American networks are so sensitive to "causing offence".

Fox got rid of a Chelsea supporting anchor man for a call-in show thanks to Dipper supporters in NY saying he referred to them as murders!!

@mdubya  and Dave Mack
I completely get the problem with MANU from US and other non UK commentators. If you look at the top of the TV, almost all teams are reduced to 2-4 letter code. For United, like it or not, it has been MANU for years. This is unfortunate, but largely understandable. I am sure ESPN does it for convenience, not because they are closet Chelsea fans, ha ha, but seriously, I am really not a conspiracy fan. We really do need to educate, not humiliate. I’ll bet if a couple of thousand emails went in to ESPN this would stop pretty quick. U rarely hear it from UK commentators, hell, even Steve McManaman calls us United. I am pretty sure Alexi Lalas was pretty obviously uncomfortable with the term if you look at his reactions on the halftime show. Whatever you think of Lalas, he always used Man United during that segment and was generally pissed at the lack of spine from the “all stars”. PS, mdubyw I was never a fan of G-dubya, but I really laughed at your call sign due to the similarity!
Keep the faith, stay United!

@mdubyw.... I listen a lot of US commentary and get mad at the "ManU" stuff as well. I have to remind myself that it's just ignorance and in fact as Scott said the other night... it was great to hear commentators speaking about our club, SAF, players, history, entertainment culture etc etc, with such genuine respect.

Makes such a nice change from the jealous ABU stuff we so often read and hear here!!

AIG - I think it's time to put the Ozil rumours to bed, until we hear from United, or Bremen.

dave, that kick inthe grass blogger is just as shit when it comes to thinking he knows better than sir alex. dude's a twat too.

i'm an american united fan, fletchtheman and i totally get your frustration with the man u thing. i didn't really know about how and why it came about until i started reading sites like this. most of the americans who cover the sport think because they played it they automatically know what's going on. i don't think they continually mean to spite anyone by referring to us in that way but ignorance isn't always an excuse. either way their commentary and analysis teams are utterly embarrassing

Here's a post I made in response the UNITED RANT article you linked us to. I don't know why anyone other the City would have anything to do with that site.

Your comment that “Ferguson doesn’t get” the relationship between value and success at OT is without doubt the single most ignorant thing I’ve ever read about United on any site.
Eveything Fergie has done over the last 25 years and continues to do is about sustainable year in year out success while building huge value. (Forbes confrm that today MUFC are the most valuable sprting club in the world.)
Pretnding your a United supporter is an embarrsement to all of us who really are

North American Reds should defo go to ESPN and rate the videos on United after their sumptuous dismantling of the MLS all stars.
UK Reds rightly give the press a lot of crap, but the only way to get ESPN to recognize the importance of putting on proper news is to positively rate all good stories about United. The MLS color commentary from Judy Foudy was such crap, with her referring the lads as ManU repeatedly. Sadly, the same was true of the live commentary. I woke the dog several times screaming at their lack of understanding.
At anyrate, here is a link to a ESPN video rating United and the quality of the players coming through. Click on 5 stars to let them know you dig this stuff!
http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=null&categoryid=2731137
Sorry about the adds, no help for it.

khedira went to real for something like 12 mil? that doesn't seem very much, he was the engine of stuttgart's midfield last year and was way more than serviceable for the germans in the cup. i wonder what kind of price that means for ozil? who was really flashy, 18-20 mil range? man it would be awesome to have a player like that.
