Man Utd News 24/7

would be a shame to see carrick go but I would be pleased to see rodwell in red
Mixed feelings about the Rodwell-Carrick thing, if it is true of course. Rodwell is a good prospect, but if Carrick leaves now, that’s one less reliable midfield option for us. That would leave us with Fletcher and Scholes as the recognised choices, Ando who’s an enigma and Gibson and Cleverley both of who need more time.
As for Hargreaves, I still don’t understand what the big dilemma is. With Diouf out on loan, our senor squad consists of 24 players, with Hargo included. If he has a chance of making it back, just name him. Don’t see what’s wrong with that, even if he doesn’t play until the new year. We have a chance to switch things around then. The real concern for United fans is if Hargo is ever coming back and that’s what I’d like to know. If Fergie leaves him out of the squas, are we supposed to believe that he is done?
more garbage from the sun me thinks (thats without reading it)
why entertain that tabloid crap on this great website
dont get me wrong rodwells great but with two days to go before the window closes, they must be desperate to fill there pages if thats all the tosh they can come up with
piss moran
you have email

think commonsense tell’s us Hargo is finito he was supposed to be fit and ready to come back last September then it was a mental problem if he ever returned he would only be a shell of the player he was.Pity but we would be crapping ourselves any time a tackle came in or when he made a tackle leave him out the pool there’s no benefit.
great email, morgan is a twat!
the hargo thing is really sad we can only hope for the best and don’t think anyone knows if he’s done or not i guess thats the delimma sir alex faces.at the moment it looks like carrick is really out of favour so i don’t think we give up to much to getting rodwell obviously the upside if we get him is immense for the future.don’t agree with all of mourinho statements but the chelsea fans have to admit last years side had alot of mourinho’s signing still there so i think he’s allowed to take some credit.
Costas @ 13:42 – the question of “back up” – behind Scholes and Darren Fletcherinho (football genius) – is uncertain. I suppose that you could count on ThreeLungPark and Antonio Valencia in a pinch because that’s where they play for their national teams; John O’Shea and Ryan Giggs put in a tremendous shift in those roles a few years ago; Anderson is, of course, a constantly intriguing proposition and Tom Cleverley seems to be exciting a lot of people. So, losing Michael Carrick isn’t an end-of-the-world deal because there’s many more ways to skin the cat – and, indeed, it seems that WayneRooney wants to play central midfield this year, too !
On a somewhat related issue: the rumour mill is again suggesting that SAF is angling for Jack Rodwell. I don’t get it. I’ve watched Jack Rodwell on several occasions when Everton have been on the telly and, truthfully, he’s never caught my eye – apart from scoring a goal for Everton against UTD last season. As others have written about him, he’s certainly not more eye-catching than Fellaini or Arteta or Pienaar or Cahill while Phil Neville seems to be a much more effective grafter. On the other hand, Jack Rodwell certainly looks good in uniform – handsome, big, strapping lad. Is that enough ? Is he really a better prospect than Lee Cattermole (who is an ankle-tapping nuisance) or Fabrice Muamba ? (Rodwell is younger than those two but I haven’t seen much evidence that he’s much better.)
Costas – Have to disagree there mate, Carricks not as reliable as he was a few years ago. Saying that, i don’t think the Rodwell/ Carrick swap story is true, just think the Sun is regurgitating old stories about Uniteds interest. On Hargo, have to agree with some comments that we’ve seen the last of him, really gutted for the lad. ps David May super star lol
Whats the point of buying Cattermole? He’d be in the stand most of the time, and he’s not that good any way.
@willierednut
Agreed, he isn’t as reliable. And I am not too confident that he will be. What I meant to say, is that if(and that’s a very big if) this switch were to ever take place, it would just weaken our midfield even more.
for me, i tend to agreed more to the chelsea blog on super-ego mourinho. he’s indeed quite a big turn off in many aspects as a manager & as a person. sincerely hope he doesnt even come close to old trafford.
indeed very sad progress to hargo. we are already worry sick & have been disapointed again & again as fans. imagine what must be going through his mind this 2 years & now approaching his last season of contract with us.
God Bless Him. really feel for this fantastic lad.
Anyone hear the fucking Spurs fans booing their team off. Horrible.
Off topic – Did anyone hear what the hammers fans were singing? They were like cheering every few minutes then singing 3-1 and you fucked it up. Then more cheering , then 3-2 and you fucked it up. So on and so on till they had won 4-3. Then they were chanting going down to us? It was quite amusing.
Cattermole is awful. I like the look of young Jordan Henderson.
King Eric – Did you hear the stories about Rodwell?
willierednut – Yeah mate I did but just bollocks. However Carrick really is out of favour. You know I like Rodwell.
Great to see that Wellbeck was the difference when he came on yesterday. This lad WILL make it .
The yellow/green kit was better than that black one!
Brilliant interview from May! You got to love that guy, I love hat spirit and you only can find it in United
May Hargo return triumphantly! Our white knight supercharger powering us to glory.
For him to succeed, none should waver. We Believe.
Can’t see any advantage to losing Carrick tomorrow. The only way that’s happening is if there is a problem that we aren’t aware of.
Decades after Sir Alex has stepped aside ( May He Reign Eternal! ) I will still attribute our unabated success to his stewardship. Chelsea supporters should not deny Mourinho his pride, warranted or not.
I’ll bet David May still feels he’s on the winning side, part of, and fundamental to our continued success.
Hell, even I feel important!
Does it make sense to loan Cleverly to wigan, which with all respect ,are not of the same level as our reserves team after watching them get hammered lately in the PL, and bringing in another young midfielder ? If Hargreaves is to return after 2 years out of action, what will be his performance level ? It is too risky considering he needs to play at a very high level. SAF said he will play his youth, when ? He can try some of the youth players if he wants. Rafael can play as RB instead of O`Shea, Where are Gibson and Obertan ? not even with the first 18 players. Hernandez is already being left on the bench, is he going to end up like Welbeck and Diuof ? He does not need to prove he is good since he played at a high level even if he is still 22. I like to see Rodwell in red but hope he will not end up in the reserves like those before him. Time will tell.
jesmonta – that’s the frustration of watching a squad-rotation system. It’s just NOT fantasy football in which a “first eleven” play week-in and week-out.
With regard to Tom Cleverley – the kid needs playing time and he’s just not going to get much as long as SAF believes that he’s inferior to Paul Scholes. And who can disagree with that assessment ?
With regard to Chicharito – he’s caught on the horns of SAF’s dilemma regarding DImitar Berbatov. SAF paid a lot to pry Dimmy from Spurs and so far he’s just not delivered as expected – no matter what the BerbaFans say. So, that puts Chicharito in the same place as KikoTheKid – watching and waiting for SAF to give up on Berbatov and reorganize the forward line to accommodate a faster, more direct style of play. The fact that Dimmy has played well so far – against inferior opposition, it has to be said – means that the time-on-the-bench for Chicharito and KikoTheKid is going to continue for a while. Last year, Berbatov got a “lease on life” because Macheda was crocked for much of the season; this year is kinda like deja vue all over again because SAF will only persist with Dimmy if he can prove to be a useful partner for WayneRooney – and this doesn’t even begin to take the 4-4-2/4-3-3 issues into account. I reckon that we won’t get a definitive “read” on SAF’s intentions for a while because the start of the season is so fitful and even the CL games are not especially challenging (Rangers ? Bosopur ??). Despite the RentBoyz’ fabulous start to the season, the “real season” on starts at Xmas. In the meanwhile, the aim is to sort out personnel issues and to keep CSKA London in hailing distance. Always remember that the EPL/CL season is about the long game – not just the next game.
