Ronaldo: Fans Were Brilliant!

Cristiano Ronaldo is full of confidence following our brilliant result against Tottenham Hotspur, knowing all too well that four wins will wrap up the title for us.

He was also quick to praise the fans after a brilliant atmosphere on Saturday carried the team through.

“We have five games left and we know that if we win the next four we will win the league,” said Ronaldo. “We have five cup finals left and we have to believe. I’m looking forward to every game and I’m very confident we’ll win the title again.”

Reflecting on the Spurs’ game, Ronaldo conceded we weren’t good enough in the first half but was pleased with how his team mates and fans performed in the second half.

“We know we didn’t play well in the first half,” he added. “But the spirit was different after half-time. We were a lot sharper and the players had more motivation. I was very happy with my goals and delighted for my team-mates as well – Rooney, Tevez, Berba – they all played fantastic. The atmosphere was absolutely brilliant in the second half and the fans helped us win the game. When we are together like that, the players and the supporters, you always know the result will come.”

    five cup finals

plus at least 2 other cup finals

its great to hear ronaldo talk like this because he has always been 100% in cup finals since he got here
if thats his mind set then bring on the last 8 cup finals of the season

  2. doncobaino says:

    great read!
wednesday night could be the biggest game at OT this season- it needs another barca atmosphere!!

  3. Oooodz says:

I could hear the fans support singing at half time when we were 2-0. Brilliant! Well done all those who were there

Liverpool fans boo when they are 0-0 against West Ham at home.
United fans cheer when we are 2-0 down.

    Nuff said.

P.S. I find it highly amusing that non league Whitley Bay will be visiting Wembley more times that Liverpool this year.

  4. gotta hate tiny tears says:

    Oooodz i agree
united fans sung when they where 4 1 down to liverpool
and the west ham game they boo’d at there team was the point that put them top

  5. Scott the Red says:

We were singing “we love United we do!” at 2-0 down. It felt great to sing the same song at 5-2 up!

  6. Xyth says:

Can’t wait till Saturday, although I will be at the Boro end.

I hope that my trip from London will be one to remember and the lads continue where they left it with Spurs.

  7. Tom F says:

Can I get confirmation from those at the game: Was it only Spurs supporters booing Berbatov?

We have a good few cup finals ahead… I have said all season that I think it will be Barcelona’s year in Europe but now we’re here and the end is so close, I cannot imagine us losing!

It has to be said, we should never have gone 2-0 down at Old Trafford, against Spurs or any team, but the way we came back, like we did against Everton 2 years ago was a big deal. We are showing real hunger now and I don’t think we’ll let complacency slip in again at home… and hopefully we’ll do the same away.

Something tells me that the game against Boro on Saturday is going to be the toughest in our Premier League run-in and I hope we don’t end up chasing the game in two nights time.

Passion and hunger is needed right now, but it has to be controlled and chanelled in the right way.

  8. Giles Oakley says:

That’s Ronaldo adding his voice to Carrick , Rooney and other players saying how important the crowd is. All of you there on Saturday, brilliant, all those able to go to the ’5 cup finals’ in the league, keep it up, same for the Chams Lge matches, and let’s hope there’s a real cup final to finish off with. Phil Spector may be banged up, but let’s hear a real Wall of Sound!!

  9. FailsworthDevil says:

I remember being at the Arsenal game last season… (CR7 penalty which he had to take twice… and then Mr Hargreaves free kick)….

The atmosphere that day was electric… so god only knows what its gonna be like Weds… coz we all know that European nights at OT are the best… its gonna be awesome… and i can see it giving the lads a big big boost…

COME ON UNITED… get a good result to take to the Emirates..

  10. Paul the red says:

Giles…. “wall of sound”…. Johnathan Spector’s creation that…. i bet he is a liverpool fan.

(what did he go down for?????)

  11. suhayl says:

The fans are needed to be the 12th man…there is no doubting that

  12. King Eric says:

“Phil Spector may be banged up, but let’s hear a real Wall of Sound!!”

    Nice one Giles.

  13. Zana says:

Am living in iraq but whole my spirit will fly and come to the dream of theater with full enthusiasm

  14. Kings says:

Could Fergie be bold and play all 4 attackers on Wednesday? It worked against Spurs, and they have better defenders than Arsenal.

  15. jcolas says:

Agree, I always start all 4 attackers on fifa 09′
