Cristiano Ronaldo has paid tribute to Sir Alex Ferguson on the 25th anniversary of our manager taking the job at Old Trafford.
“Sir Alex has a special place in my life. In fact, he was the main man,” said Ronaldo. “I was not famous, I was not a star. I arrived at Old Trafford as just another young talent. He was the one who told me to do all the right things. He gave me the opportunity to play in one of the biggest clubs in the world. So he is one of the most important people in the world for me. I worked with Sir Alex for a few years and I know he deserves everything that he has achieved in his career. He works so hard, he is clever, he has experience, he is a human guy.”

Man Utd News 24/7

Awwww… Ronny… tell us u miss us…
lets just see if the Great Man realises that:-
1. playing Rooney out of position is a fucking mistake.
2. that he should either play Berbatov or sell him as giving him 15-20mins once a month is not enough
3. we need to strengthen our midfield now …not wait for Pogba et al to bulk up
4. all the other Premier teams used to fear us….but no longer
Agree on three, give us two in January not even stars just capable midfielders we;ll turn them into stars.
Legend
It is a shame Ronaldo did not join Diego and come to Fergie’s party the other night. He owes him that much!
SAF will eventually be LAF. Whether it’s Lord, or Legendary.
The guy on the right I mean.
@TonyBee
1) Amen
2) Amen
3) Hopefully we will keep our 4 CMs healthy, but can’t see where the help’s going to come from in January.
4) Now they fear City.
Good that he remembers, who made him what he is now!
Glad that Ronnie appreciates just how special Fergie is. Hope he also appreciates now just how special a club Manchester united is also.
united should get marco fabian ( awesome prospect ). or united should definitely buy chiek tiote
@TonyBee
You are right on all counts. If he doesn’t sort it out sooner, it’ll be a lot harder later.
Why don’t we buy?? The Glazers have pikied all the cash and Gill and SAFcover their arses, while we hover on the brink of becoming second-best.
@tonybee. Well said we really need to sort the midfield out and get rooney up front. We are playing awful football with too many players who are never going to be good enough to wear the shirt.
While I don’t like the Glazers, the money was there this summer. That’s why we spent 60 million or something like that. Don’t know how much more fans think we can spend. Definitely not as much as City. I think the real question is why we would spend 20 million on Ashley Young when a CM was a bigger priotiry. Or why we didn’t sell Berbatov or Kuszczak to raise more money for a 4th transfer…
P.S. That wasn’t a knock on Young by the way. He’s done very well.
Stop blaming the owners ffs. They give Fergie big money to spend in the summer. He chose not to buy a midfielder. I’m not the gimps biggest fan. It’s on the boss though, not the owners.
Snap^
Of course he is the main man Mr Ronaldo, thanks for letting us know…. Will forever be grateful and thankful for what you did for us but in all honesty what you say these days means fuck all to me. You were desperate to leave us and you did… Good luck to you son, but in all honesty you mean nothing to me
Cedars – You are now in my and King Eric’s club mate. I speak for KE when I say, we both concur with your thoughts. Don’t tell Fred though?
Cedars and Willie and all the world is well.
Dempsey is a player and Friedle is ageless.
I love the PL!
KE’S baby should be here soon!
Oh when the Spurs go marching on, oh when the Spurs go marching on I wanna be in that number…
Wrong blog, sorry! hahahahahaha
Zibbie – I believe King Eric’s new born is due next month….. Hope the bugger is well, I miss him
The Owner thing, SAF also had $ for a Verne bid as well for Wee Wes, and they turn 100,000,000.00 enough to pay the % and help the Glazzers through the recession. And the clubs worth has doubled. Some say SAF have their backs to the clubs determent. Fuck off in the nicest way please.
SAF is rebuilding and winning trophy’s at the same time.
SAF likes box to box CMF and wings out wide with overlapping FB’S. And 2 strikers. He did go 4-6-0 with CR7 witch let him play a holding MF.
He chooses not to set up 4-2-3-1 with 2 holding MF’S
He rotates his squad for 60 games, keeping 16 to 20 players happy.
I feel the anguish of Shity’s spending to go with Chelski. If you buy enough 20 to 50 million pound players you can win the PL. So this, Shity team gives the old man a new challenge, and we get to witness the transition of his next great team.
All along the way sharing in our Redness.
Next month!!!
Zibbie well said. If you cant trust his overall judgement after 25 years when can you. He had dealt with these dynamics between teams before. Successfully…..
On another note. How quickly did ther self doubt set in with city yesterday. Great performance QPR. No one is invincible, Keep believing it City. Will be your undoing.
Redbilly, getting to the top is one thing, staying there is another.
@ TonyBee
Berbatov’s agent made it clear he did not want to be sold and would sit out his contract as he saw any club other than Barca as a step down from OT. What could SAF do – he could not force a sale, he just accepted it and avoided humiiating the guy.
Willie
Sign me up for that club pal!
NBI … i know berb said he wanted to stay but i dont buy your assessment that SAF only kept him because he had no choice. If that’s the case, why play berb at all? why not just stick him in the reserves? Or just pay him out. It wouldn’t make any difference financially. And it’s not like we are short of strikers. I honestly can’t imagine SAF using any player that he had already decided was unworthy.
Ronnie will come back to Utd when he is done with Real. I still keep his jersey for that day.
CR7 we have heard your
comment but stil does not change anything. Afterall you left Man Utd in despiration. NEVER SAY NEVER…united all the way!
@Zibbie 18:11\
Zibbie ,
in a moment of lucidity
has shown us the facts
and the way it needs to be
those who doubt and scoff
can bugger off
because your United belief
is only as thick as kit cloth
BIG PICTURE REMINDER
Do we have a young relatively inexperienced team? Yes.
Is the team still gelling and learning how to play together? Yes.
Do we have EXCELLENT reserves in waiting? Yes.
Do we have the experienced core of the team on long term contracts? Yes
Is our economic policy relatively sustainable? Yes
Can any other team in the WORLD match us for revenue and marketability? Very, very few.
Are we at the business end of the season? No
Are we in contention and can we reasonably hope to remain so? Yes.
If we do not win the EPL this year will it still be a very good year? Yes and see the 1 and 2.
How long until Mancini, Balotelli, Tevez , etc shoot themselves in the foot yet again and create disharmony at City? Undetermined but not long.
Who is the most important player for city? Silva
Are they bereft of ideas without him? Yes, so much so that if teams wake up to that they will have big problems.
IS the current United squad a long term solution? Yes.
Is the current city squad a long term solution? I can’t say yes to that due to the lack of cohesion , the volatile manager who has a history of bad man management and the fact that they now are looking to keep Tevez (if he apologizes). What a joke!
Lads, looking at the big picture I feel that SAF understands that what ever we achieve this year is a BONUS. He is perfectly prepared to take his lumps in setting this team up for future success. that means the league AND EUROPE. I believe he sees city as major contenders if not favorites for the title THIS year.He won’t verbalize it but I am reasonably sure of that. Going into the season he wasn’t sure but he is sober to that now. And, he also thinks that they will not be able to sustain their pace. He is putting this team in position to capitalize on their missteps as the season matures. But not at the expense of getting them ready to dominate next year and beyond.
