]]> By: dl http://therepublikofmancunia.com/ronaldo-on-chelsea-defender-city-money-and-playing-for-another-english-club/#comment-107085 dl Tue, 03 Nov 2009 02:16:09 +0000 http://therepublikofmancunia.com/?p=15299#comment-107085 mara i don't think many of us get why so many players loves madrid more than any other club but that's why we're fans of utd and not of madrid. i got something to do with the (ancient) history and the overall glamour - lets face it madrid is the footballing version of hollywood (think about it footballers their are prehaps the some of the biggest world known stars coming out spain, where as in this country we have some pretty big world known actors and musicans as well as our sports stars - if a footballer wants to be in the world spotlight you can understand why players want to go there as players there are the movie stars of madrid, whilst football here, especially in the north is gritty with raw emotions, basically it's the purer (and orignal) version of the game) i'm just saying that i understand why ronaldo may view madrid as a bigger club than utd, even though i think we are more of a team and more stable as he is like the brad pitt of the footballing world who feels that lifestyle should match that profile and madrid has the glam factor that manchester does not, but i love manchester bcos it's not glitz & it's in the real world. i think ronaldo will be very happy there at least in the beginning & even if not he won't say bcos he can't as rm are clearly on evidence so far pulling the strings. for the record i don't think he is missing us at all but add in the next 5yrs countless managers, over self promotion, hounded by the paps 24/7 reducing him to his home, and the high standards you have to achieve 24/7 or the fans (and president) will want your blood and his body language could be telling a very different story. sorry bout the length! mara

I don't think any 1st placed team is going to lead over the second by more than 4pts at any pt this season. Good news for football fans in general that all comps that the english teams are competing for are wide open so anyone could win them - and yes liverpool have been awful over the last month but they still beat us and this could be turn out to be their only bad point in the season, or (with the exception of chelsea that one time and hopefully against us later in the season) they are going to be big team beaters and lose against the smaller teams in the pl and europe - which i have no objections to if they want to knock out the 2 big spanish teams in the cl and then we knock them - that would be sweet! sorry bout the length of the previous post theres only one Keano
