Whilst the other players lapped the pitch, Cristiano Ronaldo went straight to the press. I’m not trying to be too critical of him, but this act seemed to sum him up for me this season. Every other player made sure they had thanked all the fans before talking to the media but Ronnie missed out the South and East stands all together, catching up with his team mates at the North stand.
Same old comments from Ronaldo though, with him claiming he is happy at the club but isn’t sure what the future holds for him.
“It’s brilliant, the atmosphere here is unbelievable – the supporters screaming, singing,” said Ronaldo. “It’s amazing but the future you never know. But as I said before, I’m really, really happy here.”
Speaking of the immediate future, Ronaldo thinks the players can have a few days to soak up this feeling, before turning their attention to Rome.
“We win the league and now we go to win the Champions League,” he added. “We have to enjoy this moment. This moment is very special. In the next two or three days we have to concentrate on the Champions League because everyone wants to win this competition.”
