Yes, like the idea of Dropping An out of form Rooney.

It's just to make him realise how much we all love and expect from him. A 27 million pounds is a big amount of money and he has to accept that he used to be much better than his form right now. At the moment we are not in a situation of lacking striker, so lets try Berbatov and Tevez up front. Also try the big Manucho. Sooner or later we will find the perfect partner up front who will help us retain the trophies (EPL & UCL) this season.

Don't agree with Tom F

I think most of us all agree that at the moment Tevez is in a much better form than Rooney who's just keep running and do nothing to show he's playing as a striker. So, Pair Berbatov with Tevez and DROP Rooney... It's just a perfect solution.

For me, the team sheet has to include Ronaldo, Rooney and Tevez. It's SAF's dilemma to determine how Berbatov fits in with those guys. Ronaldo makes the team play faster, especially when breaking out of defence. And, the game on Sunday is probably going to be a cagey affair so having the resources for a quick counter-attack is vital in my humble opinion.

Fergy paid a ton of money for #9 and he didn't do that so he could sit on the bench so I would imagine that the old footie knight has a few surprises up his sleeve. Lucky us !

It's hardly rocket science, if you take one player off the field and replace him with a better, more attacking player, your teams attacking performance will be better!

Rooney is lacking in confidence, other than that he was great on Wednesday night! How can you blame him for passing the ball, how can you say leave him out instead of Tevez, how come you have failed to mention that Tevez should have put his foot through that ball and smashed it into the net rather than tap at it.

Leaving Rooney out will not help, we have to be patient. He is the scape goat of the national side and now, because some fans are freaking out over a slow start, you are making him a scape goat for United.

Rooney to start against Chelsea.

YES!!

We should start with our Portugese Super Winger...

His gigantic impact once he came on from Villarreal match is a good example of how much he need him. His ability to bring the ball with him and change the game from defence to attack is a great natural gift from Ronaldo. His pace, skill, and determination will definitely make us a much better team.

I think we may try Playing Berba with Tevez and let Rooney to sit and re-find his form again. Anyone knows what happen to him??? He’s not the same player when he first joined us. He missed a great chance against Zenit and missed a great chance against Villareal again on Wednesday night. Those 2 chances I think for a world class striker, that must be a goal. Unfortunately, none for Rooney. Maybe he’s not good enough.

Agreeing...

VIVA RONALDO....

Play Berbatov up front with Tevez. We need a top class striker with height to hold the ball for us at the Bridge. Agreeing with the idea of dropping Rooney, as Tevez is looking lively and has more sharpness and penetration.

From my point of view, I think Ronaldo played very well against Villarreal on Wednesday night. After he came on, the speed of our game and attack is very much quicker and better. So, against Chelsea this Sunday, Ronaldo is a MUST starting line up for United.

In my opinion, the main problem for us is to find a perfect partner up front who can score goals for us. The pair of Berbatov and Tevez could be a good choice. However, physically, Manucho pairing with Berbatov could be effective, especially in the air. Anyway, I think Wayne Rooney, with his present form, should be the one that SAF make him sit on the bench.

We all love United and we all want our team to win. We all hurt when our team lose. Of course, Rooney is a great fighter. He keep running and chasing the ball for the team. However, what do you really expect from a 27 million pounds striker????….

Some may argue that last season we’ve lost many matches when Rooney didn’t play. However, this season we’ve already lost twice (against Zenith in Super Cup and against Liverpool which Rooney play full 90 minutes for both matches and didn’t play well at all). In my opinion, based on his current form, Rooney is no where near a so called Top Class Striker. His form is no where near his best when he first joined us. He has no sharpness, lack of penetration, and above all, lack of confidence to shoot when the team is needed (From Wednesday night match, it's a great example. On the 72nd minute, Ronaldo played a SUPER BALL to Rooney which he should has scored or at least hit the target. Rooney, however, SELFISHLY choose to pass that big responsibility to Tevez which finally failed. How can you expect your hero to did thing like that???)….

It’s not good enough for a 27 million pounds striker to just keep running but refuse to take a shot when the team is needed…..

It’s not good enough for a 27 million pounds striker to just keep saying that I’m not selfish but never score a goal for the team….

Lack of sharpness, lack of penetration, and lack of confidence… IT”S NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!!….

Working hard but never score goals is not enough when you play as a striker, especially when you play for the great club like Manchester United and the team pay 27 million pounds for you. With his present form, I think no one, including SAF, will pay 27 million pounds for his signature.

With the Return of Ronaldo, Berbatov, and Manucho, I think this is the best time to DROP Rooney and give him more time to re-discover his best form again…
