Wayne Rooney has revealed in his autobiography that the worst telling off he has seen a player get from Sir Alex Ferguson was after United’s 1-0 defeat to Celtic in the Champions League.
Louis Saha missed an easy chance, with him appearing to believe he was offside, before seeing his last minute penalty saved by Artur Boruc.
It spurs some of the lads on, but it crushes others. I’ve seen the manager shout and scream at people and when they’ve gone back on the pitch their heads have dropped. They’ve lost it. It’s the worst ‘hairdryer’ I’ve seen. He’s in Louis’ face, shouting and screaming. But Louis isn’t the only one getting an earful. The manager knows I’ve been negotiating a new deal with the club and he saves some for me, ‘Players wanting more money from the club and new deals – you don’t deserve anything after that performance!’

Man Utd News 24/7

You didnt you slob
The Mirror is running the serialized release of excerpts from Rooney’s latest ‘novel’
Rooney quote’s SAF as saying to him “Players wanting more money from the club and new deals – you don’t deserve anything after that performance”
… and then The Mirror declares:
‘Despite the blast, Rooney acknowledged that his performance at Celtic did not merit the new, improved contract he would eventually sign later that season.’
If you demand a top wage, earn it!
Wasn’t the worst performance in the world, lol.
He deserved an improved wage but not as big as he eventually got.
OFF TOPIC: FLETCH.IS.BACK. WOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!! Also VP and Kagawa are fit. haha.Phew Might be a good weekend after all.
Kind of worried all these excerpts will turn to haunt him back. How many United players have gone into feud with Fergie over the years over stupid stuffs they revealed in their autobiography
@Raizzen
Fergie wrote the foreword to this book. One hope’s he’s at least vaguely aware of its content!
Sir Alex seems to know what he’s talking about. Imagine that.
On the other hand, Wayne doesn’t say he told the boss he was wrong on this occasion.
Take from that what you will.lol.
Great news about Fletcher.
Some steel for the midfield.
I sincerely hope the lad doesn’t suffer any further and can continue his career without any more distress.

SAF Presser:
Upcoming Milestones: Giggs 600th EPL appearance (911 overall). Scholes 700th United appearance, Rio’s 400th United appearance.
That’s really something to marvel at.
Hope you all read the piece by Ladyman in the Mail. Very nice tribute to Scholsey!
When you deserve a new deal, the club will offer you one. You don’t go knocking on the door asking for one.
On topic: this rooney boy is awkward
Off topic:
Remember sir alex lambasting the FA for revealing the ashley young’s injury
?
Have he changed his ideas?
Is everyone really “fit” to play except jonesy and chris?
Even buttner who went off limping at the other day. Does revealing our team really gives the opponents some edge?
Think tomorrow might be a good day for Buttner’s debut, if he’s fit. At home. Against a (all due respect) weaker team. And a team with no really dangerous wingers. Save Paddy’s experience for Galatasary midweek.
That said, if Wigan have been watching our last few games, Franci di Santo (6ft 4) will be peeling off and isolating himself against the fullbacks at any given opportunity.
Proverb
Youve got it wrong my friend
The FA saying Young isnt fit isnt the same as Sir Alex saying the others are fit.
By saying a player is unfit means that Fergie has a narrower squad to select from and gives the opposing manager heads up about team selection. Saying a player is fit does the complete opposite, it makes the opposing manager guess a series of possible line ups making match day tactics harder to predict.
Okay thanks @goat
Anyways, there’s a new thread up
Goat, On the other hand. SAF saying he will have Darren on the bench, surely for Darrens mental support, tells Wigan exactly how he rates them.
Alley football:
Right then, you pick first and get an extra player as sub.
We’ll even take Darren here.
Still tear ya appart!
To be honest , i personaly i am still waiting for Roony to show hes worth the money
he demanded at United, yes he plays some good games, but what we need is
consistancy from our players, not hit and miss.
Less grassing Wayne, more class on and off the grass.
I think at this stage I’ve read the autobiography without buying it
It’s felt like eons.. I need my footie fix! Really looking forward to going out for a few beers and watching the match tomorrow, should be a good ‘un.
Fergie despises losing to Celtic!
