Looking forward to Utd kicking back off after international week.

Regarding Keane’s comments – whilst it showed that he is a winner, I think it also put across how much of a prick he would be as a manager, and the reasons why he lost the Sunderland dressing room and is fucking up with Ipswich.
A man manager like SAF or Martin O’Neil knows when to go mental and when to praise, but with Keane he just seems to be a big angry demanding bastard, and whilst being pushed is great, it can also be demoralising for the players too. After Ireland’s performance, and tactical brilliance, for Keane to say he would have got stuck into his players after the match shows how out of touch he can be with his squad. His chances of managing Utd are all but over now, I reckon, and I wouldn’t really want him as our manager, despite how much I respect and loved him as our player.

It is undeniable ron. was a goal scoring midfielder for us, but it shd be noted that his work was lightened by Rooney himself and the likes of carrick(when he was on form) . i am not saying Roo is incapable of surpassing his best for utd but he too needs somebody to do the donkey work for him. imo a creative midfielder in the mould of ribery who we lack for now, scholes is in the evening of his career and carrick is no longer the carrick i knew.

Hi all

Well this is exactly what i have been waiting for Rooney to say. He has to set his mind to goal scoring before anything else. But this war cry is even better, because he is rallying other forwards too.

Maybe fatherhood is making him more mature.

He said it himself, he needs to be more consistent in scoring goals. He’s the one player I hope will stay injury free for the remainder of the season. If that was the case then he’ll be top scorer in the league come may.

Morning mate. Rooney already has 8 goals this season and he could top the 23 he had in 06-07. He does go through these periods where he stops scoring but i think he is getting more consistent.

I also heard Keano’s comments. I will agree with you about his attitude(i am also wondering what Henry was doing unmarked at the back post). However i also sensed some bitterness from him. The events of 2002 have left a scar on him that apparently still hurts. Sometimes i wish he could get over certain things.

I watched the Keane reaction to what happened to Ireland yesterday and all Keane focassed on was Irelands failing and how mistakes could be rectified and I just kept thinking thats the attitude of a winner and thats manager Wayne Rooneys future
